[Barbie] I've said it before,
but I think
it's worth repeating.

Sometimes life is all about
finding the right...

balance.

Barbie! Teresa!

Whoa!
[groans]

Oops. Did I do that?

It's OK, I was ready
for a break.

What's up, Chels?

Look!

The Big Purple Circus
is coming to Malibu!

One week only.
Don't miss out!

Can we go?
Please? Please?

- Sure.
- Yay!

Keeping promises,
like finding your balance,
can be tricky.

I had every intention
of taking her.

I loved going to
the Big Purple Circus

when I was Chelsea's age,
and I couldn't wait to share it
with my baby sister.

But then somehow life got
all... out of balance.

- Now? Can we go now?
- Tomorrow.

I told Teresa
I'd give her a ride
to gymnastics practice today.

Whoo-hoo!
We're going to the circus,
we're going to the circus!

- Ready to go?
- Yep!

[thunder rumbles]

- Tomorrow?
- OK.

[birds chirping]

Girls, quick!
The rain triggered
a caterpillar swarm.

I need help!

- Tomorrow.
- OK.

[gasps]

Tomorrow?

Tomorrow for sure.

Yay!

Whoo-hoo!

Today?

Oh, Chels, I totally forgot.

I'm playing the pine tree
in the Malibu Arbor Day
pageant today.

Tomorrow, for sure,
for sure.

OK.

[sneezes]

[groans] It must be that
-hour bug that's going around.

Aww, you'll have to stay
in bed all day, sweetie.

- [both] But...
- Oh, don't worry,

you'll feel better tomorrow.

OK, Barbie.
I'm all better.

Let's go to the circus!

[Barbie groans]

[sneezes]

You'll feel better tomorrow.

- Today?
- Today!

- Whoo-hoo!
- [laughs]

- Where's the circus?
- I don't understand.

They were supposed to
be here a full week.

You were sick, I was sick...

Arbor Day, butterflies...

Caterpillars, rain storm...
that's six days.

[gasps]
Teresa's practice.

The circus was in town that day,
and I forgot to count it.

That makes seven.
The last day was yesterday.

And it won't be back
until next year.

Oh, Chelsea, I'm so sorry.

Maybe we could do
something else together.

Like have ice cream
on the beach.
That's always fun.

You are the sweetest
and most understanding

little sister ever.

But not even ice cream
can make up for this one.

I'll find something
really special for us to do,
I promise.

These well-trained pups

Wow.

Hey, Rookie, wake up.

You need to watch this video.

You'd make a great service dog.

Come on. You wanna help people,
don't you?

You'd be great at it.

You're so good
at following directions.

Here. Fetch.

Come on.
Come on, boy.

[sighs]

It's a start.

[crying]

I'm so, so sad.

[laughing]

No giggling.
You're supposed to be upset.

People who need a support dog
aren't going to be happy

the minute they see a puppy.

You have to make them
work for it.

- But I'm not feeling sad.
- Well, can you fake it then?

- For their sake?
- OK.

If it'll help you
train the puppies

I'll do my best to be sad.

That's the spirit!

OK, everyone, from the top!

Boo-hoo-hoo!

- Oh, my poor sister.
- What's the matter?

I promised Chelsea I'd take her
to the Big Purple Circus,

but then I lost track
of the days and we missed it.

I wasn't quite sure we'd be able

My hat that I'm going

What? No, that's impo...

Why don't you and Dad go?

She just wanted
to spend time together.

The circus would have been
cool and all,

but yeah, she really
just wanted to hang out.

I have to apologize.
Can you help me find her?

- [Chelsea giggling]
- Just did.

Chelsea's book club
will now come to order.

Everyone who's read the book,
please raise your hand.

Or paw.

Guys! We've talked about this.

If you wanna have a book club,
you have to read the books.

[knocking]

Can I come in?

Sure.

It's OK if you haven't

You're not the only one.

I'm not here for book club.
I came to apologize.

For what?

For putting you off
