Post by bunniefuu »

(gentle music)

(audience applauds)

(tinkly music)

(Polly babbles)

- Oh, Topolino's?

Oh Maurice, it's my

favorite restaurant.

- Nothing but the best

for our th wedding

anniversary, dear.

(Matilda chuckles)

(Polly babbles)

- Oh yes now, um, Mom?

Have you seen my new

pink hair ribbon?

Mom?

- Ah, there it is.

- You found my ribbon!

- No dear, I found my bag.

- Oh.

- Where did I leave my hat?

- Mom!

I need my ribbon for

Miss Lilly's party.

- I need to get to

the office soon, dear.

- [Angelina] Yes now a bit.

- Angie?

- Dad, do I have to take Polly?

- [Maurice] I thought Miss Lilly

had invited her as

a special treat.

- [Angelina] But nobody

else will be taking a baby.

It's not fair!

- I can't find my hat anywhere.

- There it is, dear.

- Thanks, dear.

(spoon clinks)

(Polly babbling)

(tinkly music)

- Shiny, shiny!

- What's happened

to my teaspoon?

- Mommy!

- Oh, let's get you ready

for the party, Polly.

There's a good girl.

- Oh, Polly will

just be a nuisance.

- Ooh, I'm sure she won't, dear.

You'll have a wonderful time.

(Angelina groaning)

- Oh, Polly's always a nuisance.

Oh, Alice.

You've got a new necklace.

- Mum and Dad gave it to me.

- My mum's got some

sparkly necklaces.

I'll see if I can borrow one.

Oh, yes.

(Alice giggles)

(Angelina panting)

Mum, can I borrow a

necklace for the party?

- [Maurice] Matilda, I'm

going to be late for work.

- Oh, coming!

Don't forget to give

Polly her bottle.

Now have a lovely time.

- Oh.

Oh, oh!

(Angelina giggles)

(Polly babbling)

Hurry up, Alice,

or we'll be late.

- I'm trying, Angelina, but

the clasp keeps opening.

It's not very strong.

- Well that's because it's old.

Dad gave it to Mum

on their wedding day.

- Oh, how romantic.

Your mum must really love it.

- Yes.

- Angelina, your mum did say

you could borrow her

locket, didn't she?

- Well, not exactly.

- Oh, Angelina.

You didn't take

it without asking!

- I tried asking, but

Mum was in a hurry.

- [Alice] Really?

- Besides, she'll never know.

I'll have it back in her jewelry

box before she gets home.

(Polly babbling)

(Angelina sighs)

(jaunty piano music)

(mice giggling)

- That's all right.

- Our mother has a much

prettier locket than that.

- Hers is bigger, and it

has a diamond in the middle.

- Well, this one is very

old, and very precious.

Come on, Alice, let's dance.

(jaunty piano music)

(mice giggling)

- Whoa, my little (speaking

foreign language).

Looks like you're going

to be a ballerina,

just like your big sister.

- Look Polly, copy me!

One, two, three, and four.

One, two, three, and four.

(mice giggling)

(Angelina sighing)

(Polly babbling)

(mice giggling)

- Shiny, shiny!

- Goodbye.

- Bye, Miss Lilly.

- Bye!

- Bye, Miss Lilly!

- Goodbye, goodbye.

Goodbye, bye all, yes,

lovely to see you.

- Bye!

- Oh, bye.

- Oh, oh, wait for me, Angelina!

- Goodbye, darling.

- Thank you for a lovely

party, Miss Lilly.

- A pleasure, Angelina.

So nice to have little

Polly here, too.

(Polly babbling)

- Thank you, Miss Lilly.

Oh!

Angelina.

- Hm?

- Where's your silver locket?

(Angelina gasping)

- It's gone!

Oh no!

(Polly crying)

- Oh, darling, darling!

Sh, sh, sh, sh, sh.

Oh shush, shush.

(suspenseful music)

(Angelina whimpering)

- [Angelina] I've

got to find it!

What will I say to Mum?

- Don't worry, Angelina.

(Alice sniffs)

It must be here somewhere.

(jarring piano music)

(Polly crying)

- It might have fallen in here.

- Sh, sh, sh.

Angelina, you must

take Polly home now.

- But Miss Lilly, I can't

go without Mum's locket!

- Darling, you must tell

your mother what's happened.

- Tell her I've lost it?

- Yes, and you must

tell her right away.

(Angelina sighs)

(Polly crying)

- I should never

have borrowed it.

Oh, Mum's gonna be so upset.

- I'm sure she won't

be angry for long

if you say you're

sorry and everything.

- Oh.

Oh, it'll be all right.

Mum hardly ever wears it,

so she won't even

notice it's missing.

(suspenseful music)

(horn honking)

(Polly babbling)

- Oh, Angelina.

I've bought the most

beautiful dress for tonight.

- Have you?

- It will go perfectly

with the silver locket

your father gave me

on our wedding day.

(Angelina yelps)

- Mommy!

- Oh, hello Polly.

Did you miss Mummy?

(Polly giggling)

I can't wait to see how

they'll look together.

Angelina, would you

bring me my jewelry box?

- No!

Uh, uh no, no.

Not now.

Polly's hungry, she needs

her supper right away.

(Matilda gasps)

(Polly crying)

- Oh!

Angelina!

Where are you going?

- Wait for me, Angelina.

Oh, uh,

she left something at

Miss Lilly's studio.

See you later!

(Maurice chuckles)

- Honestly.

- Ma, ma, ma.

(both groaning)

- I can't see any

like your mum's.

- [Angelina] Neither can I.

- And what would

miss like to look at?

- I'd like to look at

your lockets, please.

- [Clerk] What about this one?

It's very fine, with a

lovely deep blue sapphire.

- Mm-mm.

- Perhaps something in silver.

- None of them are right!

- They're not like

Angelina's mum's locket.

- How unfortunate.

- What about that one?

(Angelina gasps)

- Be careful!

(jewelry clattering)

- Alice!

- Oops, sorry.

It's not right either.

(both sighing)

(door creaks)

(bell jingles)

(Angelina crying)

- I don't know

what to do, Alice.

- Well, if I lost something

of yours, Angelina,

something really,

really precious,

not that I ever

would, of course.

What would you want me to do?

- I'd want you to tell

me the truth, Alice.

- And that's what you've

got to do, Angelina.

- [Angelina] Oh, Alice!

- You've got to tell

your mum the truth.

(Angelina sighs)

(eerie music)

(parents groaning)

- It can't be lost.

- [Matilda] I'm sure

I saw it earlier.

- Mum?

- Yes, dear?

- [Angelina] I've got

something to tell you.

- It might be in

the big dresser.

(both groaning)

- Mum, you won't

be able to find it

because I borrowed it for Miss

Lilly's party and, I lost it.

- Angelina?

What are you talking about?

- Your locket!

- Darling, it's

the oddest thing.

It was with your ribbon, and

a little silver teaspoon.

- It was?

- I don't know how on

earth she got hold of them.

- Who, Mum?

- Polly, of course.

They were in her little purse.

(Polly babbling)

(Angelina gasps)

- Oh!

(both sighing)

(both giggling)

(Polly giggling)

- Ah, found it!

(all giggling)

Oh.

(door creaks)

(parents whispering)

- She's growing up so fast.

- She's going to be a

beauty, just like her mother.

- Oh.

I've been thinking, Maurice.

- Oh yes, dear?

- Angelina really is old enough

to wear my silver locket.

Would you mind?

(Angelina gasps)

- Oh!

No, Mum, it's far too precious.

(both laughing)

(gentle music)

(Alice murmuring)

- Okay, three cheesy

mints, and a cheesy pop.

And oh, oh!

Sorry, Mrs. Thimble.

- That's all right, dear.

- Oh, Mouseland's teacher

of the year award?

In honor of the

teacher who has shown

the highest level of

dedication to her students.

Oh, Alice!

We must enter Miss Lilly.

Nobody deserves this

award more than she does.

- But this is for all

of Mouseland, Angelina.

The judges don't even

know about Miss Lilly.

- Then it's our job to

make sure they do, Alice.

Come on!

- Wait, what about my sweets?

- Here you are, dear.

(pleasant music)

- Oh, and she makes

us all feel special,

like we're each the

prima ballerina.

- And she's always

there when we need her,

if we hurt ourselves,

or feel upset.

- Hurt, and feel upset.

Yes.

And, she's always happy to give

us lessons in her own time.

(Alice grunting)

Oh, Alice!

That's supposed to go in the

scrapbook, not on the letter.

(both grunting)

That's better.

We need to get everyone

in the class to sign this

so we can send it off tomorrow,

or it won't get to

the judges in time.

(Alice giggles)

(gentle music)

(Miss Lilly clapping)

- Now, my darlings,

take your positions

for the sleeping beauty, please.

(students chattering)

Now, William, the

prince turns and turns,

trying to find his

sleeping beauty.

Where is his sleeping beauty?

- Where did you want me to sign?

- Just there.

- [Miss Lilly] Angelina!

- Coming, Miss Lilly!

(gentle piano music)

(Angelina grunting)

- So, sleeping beauty

is fast asleep,

and the briars have

grown all up around her.

- William.

- Rise up.

- Quick!

- And the prince?

Where is the prince?

William!

- Um, I was just, um, uh,

waking up sleeping beauty.

(mice giggling)

- Please, concentrate

mouselings.

We need to practice very hard

if we are going to be

ready for the summer show.

- It won't go in!

- But we have to

get it in, Alice.

Today's the last day!

(suspenseful music)

(both grunting)

(both sighing)

(gentle piano music)

(mice humming)

- Good.

The prince cuts

through the briars,

and finds his sleeping beauty.

He bends down, and kisses

her gently on the forehead.

- Oh crumbs.

(mice giggling)

(knocking)

- Special delivery

for you, Miss Lilly.

(mice gasping)

- Thank you.

Now, my darlings,

we will start again

and you, you must work

on your pirouette.

- But, Miss Lilly!

What about your letter?

Look at all the gold

and the fancy writing.

It must be something very

important and special,

and you really should look at

it right away, just in case.

- I will open it if you promise

to concentrate on our

practice, Angelina.

- Oh, I will, Miss

Lilly, I promise!

(drumroll rattling)

- We are delighted to advise

that you have won the award

for best teacher.

(mice cheering)

- Miss Lilly, you're going to be

the most famous teacher

in all of Mouseland!

And there's bound to be

a prize giving ceremony,

and you'll have to have

your picture taken,

and make a speech, and-

- You have to make a

speech too, Angelina.

- I do?

- Was this your idea?

- Oh, well, Angelina

may have thought of it,

but we added the important

final touches to the letter.

- We all helped, Miss Lilly.

- Well then, thank you everyone.

I, I never expected

anything like this.

- Ah.

- Shush!

(camera clicks)

(Angelina gasps)

- [Maurice] You need to look up

at the camera, Miss Lilly.

- Oh Miss Lilly, your beads.

- Oh!

- Let me do it, please.

- And once more.

(fly buzzing)

- Oh!

(camera clicks)

- Don't you have enough

now, Mr. Mouseling?

- Yes, of course, Miss Lilly.

Shall we go inside

for our interview?

- Maybe I should go

and tell everyone

you're going to be late for

class today, Miss Lilly.

- Oh, would you tell them

I must cancel our

practice today, Angelina.

We can catch up tomorrow.

- Oh.

(mice murmuring)

Dad says there's a

picture of Miss Lilly

and me in the paper today!

- Oh, really?

- I haven't seen it yet, but.

- [Alice] Oh, what happened

to the rest of you?

- It does rather ruin

it, seeing you at all.

(mice laughing)

- Miss Lilly!

Oh, hello Miss Quaver.

- Hello, Angelina.

Ahem, shall we begin?

- But, where's Miss Lilly?

- Miss Lilly is out of

town at a big dinner.

She's guest of honor, and well,

I am taking the class today.

(gentle piano music)

- Yes, oh dear.

(mice grunting)

- Penelope, to the left.

- Oh!

- No, I mean the other left.

- There?

- No.

Go back again.

(mice grunting)

Right.

- Miss Quaver, William is, um.

(William groaning)

- Oh.

- [Alice] Oh, William.

- Why won't the room

stop spinning, ooh.

- Oh.

(steam hissing)

(bells clanging)

- I had no idea that

being teacher of the year

would be so exhausting.

- You don't travel

light, do you Miss Lilly?

- Oh, Miss Lilly!

Oh, oh, we really

missed you, Miss Lilly.

- Oh?

And how was everything

with Miss Quaver?

- It's been-

- I hope you have all been

practicing while I was away.

- Oh yes, we all have.

And William's done lots

of work on his pirouettes.

It's been amazing!

- So, maybe you don't

need me anymore.

- Oh no, Miss Lilly,

we do need you.

We really do!

(Miss Lilly chuckles)

(Miss Lilly yawns)

(gentle piano music)

(William humming)

- Oh.

Tadah.

(Miss Lilly snoring)

(mice giggling)

(mice groaning)

(door creaks)

(piano blares)

(Miss Lilly snorts)

- Come on.

(Angelina groans)

Miss Lilly probably

needs to rest, Angelina.

- And we need to practice!

(bell jingles)

- It is simply too much.

Running here and there,

all over Mouseland

and then having to

teach a dance class?

I just can't do it all.

I'm afraid I'll

have to tell them.

- Oh dear, they'll

be so disappointed.

- See, she's giving

up teaching us!

- I'm sure that's not

what Miss Lilly meant.

- Oh!

I wish we'd never entered her

for that award in

the first place.

(Alice sighs)

Mouses and mouselings, when I

first learned about this award

I thought it was

a very good idea.

But now I realize that it is

the most terrible award

in all of Mouseland.

(Alice gasps)

What's the point of

having the best teacher

if she never has time

to teach us anymore?

- You can't say that!

- I can say it,

and I will say it!

I helped Miss Lilly

win this award,

and I can un-win

it for her, too!

Oh!

- Are you all right?

- Ow.

(mice chattering)

- Angelina?

I need to speak to you.

- I know all about it!

- You do?

Oh darling, I didn't want

to hurt your feelings.

- But you were so busy since

you won this silly award

that you've decided to

give up teaching us!

- Oh, I could never give up

teaching my little

mouselings, no!

What I have decided to do is

to turn down this silly award.

(audience applauds)

- Time for your speech, love.

(audience applauds)

(suspenseful music)

(Alice groaning)

- I wanted Miss Lilly

to win this award

because I knew she

was the best teacher

in all of Mouseland.

- Oh, Angelina.

- And now I know she's the best

teacher in the whole world!

(audience applauds)

(audience cheering)

(dramatic music)

- [Henry] Angelina

I, I can't see!

- Teacher chooses mouselings

over prestigious award.

Chipping Cheddar was shocked

when their prize-winning

teacher of the year

turned down her award

in order to spend more

time with her pupils.

- What's prestigious mean?

- Very important, Henry.

- Oh.

- [Alice] Oh, you

look lovely, Angelina.

- [Priscilla] What

happened to us?

- There, Priscilla.

Isn't that your shoulder?

- Oh yes, and that's definitely

Penelope's elbow in my ribs.

(mice laughing)

(pleasant music)

(gentle piano music)

- [Angelina] Miss

Lilly really is

the best teacher in Mouseland.

She helped me prepare

for all my dance exams,

and made sure that I

practiced all my steps

'til I was doing them

as well as possible.

Sometimes exams can

make you really nervous,

and forget your steps.

But Vanessa has taught

little Scarlet and Iman

a rhyme to help

them remember them.

Plie and stretch.

Plie and stretch.

Plie and stretch,

and stand very still.

Vanessa is putting

Charlotte's hair in a bun,

'cause it's very important to

look just right for dancing.

And if your hair is tidy,

it stays in place whatever

steps you're doing.

Anastasia prefers to

have her hair in braids,

pinned up on the

top of her head.

Our little stars are

wearing different numbers

so that the examiner

knows who they are.

(gentle piano music)

If you're a girl, you have

to curtsy to the examiner.

Boys don't curtsy, but

they do have to bow.

Anastasia's taking her exam.

Vanessa is being the examiner,

that's why she's wearing

a special outfit.

Well done, Anastasia!

Oh good, Iman and little Scarlet

have remembered their plies.

(gentle piano music)

I think Antonia,

Paloma, and Charlotte

will pass their test easily.

(plucky music)

And the boys, too!

(gentle music)

Now it's Caitlin's turn.

And Scarlet's.

I hope I'm as good as

Scarlet and Caitlin

when I'm their age.

The good thing

about taking exams

is you have to work very

hard to do them properly,

and that helps you get

better and better at dancing.

(gentle piano music)
