17x19 - The Missing Christmas Decorations

[train whistle blows]

[opening theme music playing]

[bells jingling]

[narrator reading]

It was Christmas time on the Island of Sodor.

Lights and decorations were being put up.

[children giggling]

Passengers were carrying presents

to give to their friends and family.

And there was even a Christmas tree

at Tidmouth Sheds.

[bells jingling]

[narrator] The Dieselworks had a few decorations too,

Diesel wasn't very happy.

The Steamies have a lot more decorations than we do.

I went to Tidmouth Sheds to fetch some cars

and they had loads of decorations!

[Sidney] What about me?

[chuckles] I'm a decoration.

[laughing]

Never mind about Sidney.

We need some more decorations.

And I know just the place to get them.

Paxton, come with me.

But Sir Topham Hatt asked me to collect a car

from the shunting yard and bring it here.

Nevermind that, come.

Oh, I don't know about this.

[narrator] That night, when Thomas and his friends

came back to Tidmouth Sheds,

they were very surprised.

Where's our Christmas tree?

I don't know,

it was still there this morning.

Maybe it got knocked over.

Or maybe it was taken.

Who would take someone else's Christmas tree.

Christmas is a time for being kind

and giving presents,

not taking things that don't belong to you.

[Dart] Oh! It's fallen over again.

[Diesel] Maybe you need to lean it

on something, Diesel .

[Diesel ] There. [laughs]

Our very own Christmas tree!

What we need is some lights.

[gasps] And a big decoration for the top of the tree.

[Sidney] Don't forget about me,

I'm hanging over the tree.

[Diesel chuckles]

Yeah, twinkle toes.

You look great up there.

Paxton, come with me.

[narrator] That night, when Thomas and his friends

came back to Tidmouth Sheds,

they had another surprise.

Oh, no. Where are all our lights?

This is outrageous.

Someone is taking all our decorations,

But who could take someone else's Christmas lights?

[laughter]

[train] Hoooray.

I thought you were going to put the lights on the tree.

[Diesel laughs]

It's like you said, Sidney,

you can be our decoration

since you're still hanging around up there,

waiting for your wheels to be delivered.

But we do need something nice to put on the tree.

I know where we can get some garland.

Eh, Paxton?

Um...

no, Diesel .

I don't want to take any more decorations.

And I have to collect that car

Sir Topham Hatt told me to collect.

[groans]

[narrator] The next day,

when all the Steamies were out working,

Diesel came sneaking into Tidmouth Sheds,

But he didn't notice

a little green t*nk engine watching him.

Gotcha! [laughs]

[Percy] Diesel !

Oh. Hello, Percy.

I didn't see you there.

You put that garland back.

[evil laugh]

Make me.

[whistles]

[narrator] Diesel hurried across the island

with the garland.

And Percy bravely hurried after him.

[train whistles]

Follow that diesel.

[toots]

[trains whistling]

[Percy] He's taken our garland.

Catch me if you can! [laughs]

[narrator] Now the whole Steam Team

was chasing Diesel .

They followed him right into the Dieselworks.

[Percy] Diesel .

That's our Christmas tree.

And those are our Christmas lights.

[Percy] And that's our garland too.

It's not fair.

You've got more decorations than us.

Everybody likes steamies better than diesels.

Nonsense, Diesel ,

Sir Topham Hatt likes all his engines.

[Paxton laughs]

Hey, diesels!

Look what Sir Topham Hatt sent to the Dieselworks for us!

Oh, hello, everybody.

What's the occasion?

Wow! Look at all those decorations.

And that Christmas tree!

They're from Sir Topham Hatt.

See!

[narrator] The Steamies took their decorations back

and went home,

but Percy stayed behind.

Sidney, how long have you been up there?

Um, not very long, Percy.

I mean, uh, I forget.

It's been about two years.

Two years! That's a very long time.

Yeah, I'm waiting for my wheels.

I think the order has been misplaced.

[narrator] Then Percy had an idea.

On his way back to Tidmouth Sheds,

Percy paid a quick visit

to Sir Topham Hatt at Knapford Station.

Thomas and his friends

were glad to have their decorations back.

Even though some of them now

looked a little bashed and broken.

[train whistles]

Oh, no, not diesels again.

It's all right.

Is that Sidney?

Yes, Gordon, it's me.

And thank you, Percy,

for giving me the best present ever!

Now I can be a really useful engine again.

Present? What present?

My new wheels.

You gave a diesel a present?

After all the things they've done?

Christmas is a time for being kind

and giving presents.

And that's why the rest of the diesels and I

all agreed that you should have these.

-[all gasp] -[Thomas] Wow!

Gee.

But what decorations will you have

at the Dieselworks?

Just me and my new wheels. [laughs]

And these.
