We got a pillow fort...

and music and pizza!

Everything I need for my first sleepover party

with my favorite genies.

[knock at door]

Hey, Zac. - Hey, Leah.

Rocket and I are staying up all night

to watch a meteor shower.

Do you have an extra lawn chair we can borrow?

- [growling]

- Never mind. Rocket got one.

- [giggles] Sorry I can'’t stay up with you

to watch the meteor shower.

- That'’s okay. You can see the next one.

It'’s in years, so don'’t make any plans

for that July th.

See you, Leah!

- Bye, Zac!

Now, time to get this sleepover party started.

- Whoo-hoo!

It'’s party time.

[bonk]

Oopsie.

I got so excited for the sleepover

that I ran right into you.

- It'’s okay, '’cause I got so excited I ran into you!

- Tala'’s so excited,

she'’s spinning around in circles!

That'’s enough dancing, Tala.

We have to finish packing.

- Okay, but don'’t forget.

Only pack the important stuff.

Perfect.

Now we'’ll be ready if Leah wants to go mining for gold.

- Or a deep sea adventure.

- Or go on a deep sea adventure!

- That'’s what I just said.



- [munching]

Great boa!

- Thanks, Shimmer.

Awesome teeth. What are they for?

- You can use it for lots of things.

Chewing gum, opening peanut shells,

plus they'’re really funny to look at.

[giggles]

[teeth chattering]

[meowing]



[Nahal yowling]

- Uh-oh.

[grunts]

- In case we feel like a late night canoe ride.

- And in case we feel hungry on a late night canoe ride.

- Wait, I forgot to pack the confetti!

A party always needs confetti.

[both giggling]

[muffled meowing]

- Oh, Nahal, not again.

I just need to get a little bit closer.

Can you give me a hand?

Almost there...

Just a little bit more...

Got her!

Pull us out, Shimmer!

- [grunting]

[chimes tinkling]

[thud]

[chimes tinkling] - It'’s Leah!

Oopsie.

Time for the sleepover.

- Shimmer and Shine,

my genies divine,

through this special chant,

three wishes you'’ll grant!

[woman vocalizing]

- Talk about a soft landing.

- That'’s '’cause we landed on pillows.

[meowing]

Well, mostly pillows.

- You guys made it.

Welcome to the sleepover party!

- Wait, we'’re not ready yet.

Okay, let the sleepover begin.

- Check it out, Leah.

I'’ve been practicing sleeping over stuff all day!

Watch.

Here I am sleeping over this.

And now I'’m sleeping over this!

Ooh, I call dibs on the canopy.

- Actually, a sleepover doesn'’t mean sleeping over things.

It'’s a party where you sleep over at a friend'’s house.

And there'’s pizza. There'’s music and dancing.

Plus, we get to sleep in a pillow fort.

Well, we were going to.

- Don'’t worry, Leah. We can build a new one.

Quick question. what is a pillow fort?

- It'’s a little house made of pillows.

You just stack the pillows like this.

- It looks so cozy.

- Maybe we need more pillows to build a fort

big enough for all of us.

- Or maybe you just need to make a wish, Leah.

- Great idea!

For my first wish, I wish for more pillows!

- Boom Zahramay! First wish of the day!

Shimmer and Shine, more pillows divine.

- Just one pillow?

Well, it'’s a start.

- Wait for it.

- Whoa, what'’s happening?

[chattering and meowing]

Shimmer? Shine? Where are you?

- I'’m behind a pillow!

- I'’m also behind a pillow!

- Okay, I might need a little more help than that.

- I have an idea. Follow the light.

How'’s that?

- Great. Everybody run to the light.

- We got to stop running into each other like this.

[gasps]

Whoa!

- [giggles]

- So are these enough pillows

to build a new pillow fort, Leah?

- Uh-huh.

And more forts too.

When I wished for more pillows, I was thinking

maybe six or seven.

Not a whole room full.

- That'’s my mistake, Leah.

I guess I just really like pillows.

- It'’s okay, Shine. You did your best.

I should have told you how many pillows I wanted.



- ♪ When we make a big mistake ♪

♪ Don'’t fret, let'’s celebrate ♪

You turned my whole room into a pillow fort!

- And it'’s so pillowy!

- It is pillowy.

But it'’s also amazing.

I can'’t believe it'’s all done.

[meowing and chattering]

[all giggling]

- Well, almost done.

- This is working great, Rocket.

I don'’t feel sleepy at all.

Bring on the sh**ting stars.

[rubber creaks and snaps]

- [howls]

- That'’s okay, I have plenty of stay-up-all-night tricks

up my sleeve.

Pinecones, army men, and rocks.

Oh, yeah, this'’ll keep me up.

I'’m extremely uncomfortable.

[metallic clattering]

Oof!

- [panting, slurps]

- Ugh.

- What'’s next for the sleepover, Leah?

- How about a dance party?

[stuttered drum b*at]

- Pretty song, Leah.

I like how it sounds like the same thing

over and over again.

Dan, dan, dan.

Dance party!

Dan, dan, dan.

Dance party!

- Actually, the song isn'’t supposed to sound like that.

My music player'’s broken.

I guess we can'’t have a dance party after all.

- There'’s no such thing as "can'’t"

when you still have wishes left!

- Okay.

For my second wish, I wish we could play music.

- Boom Zahramay! Second wish of the day.

Shimmer and Shine, play music divine!

- What are all these instruments doing here?

- They'’re here to play music with.

Just like you wished for, Leah.

[saxophone honks, Tala yowls]

- These instruments are awesome,

but I didn'’t mean to wish for them.

I just wanted my music player to work.

- Oh, jitterbug.

I made a mistake, didn'’t I?

- Don'’t worry, Shimmer.

If we work together,

I'’m sure we'’ll drum up a fix for this.

[rim sh*t]

- Sorry, I'’ve always wanted to do that.

[drums rapidly]

And that!

[hollow drum b*at] And that!

- Hey, maybe we can make our own music

by playing these instruments.

[chord twangs]

- I was hoping you'’d say that.

[saxophone honks]

- On three.

And a one, and a two, and a--

[all playing different tunes at once]

Three.

- Wow, we almost sound fantastic!

And by "almost," I mean we need some work.

- [snoring]

- Ah! Oof.

Rocket, I almost fell asleep.

I could'’ve missed the whole meteor shower.

Looks like it'’s time for my backup plan.

[lower voice] That'’s a great idea, Zac.

You'’re so smart.

Woof woof!

[normal voice] Thanks, Rocket.

I agree with you.

Now time for the plan.

If I stand upside down, my eyelids will stay open.

And I won'’t fall asleep.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!

Ugh.

[groans]

I should'’ve come up with a backup plan

for my backup plan.

[all playing different tunes at once]

- We sound terrible.

I'’m not even sure you could call this music.

- It'’s like I always say,

if you can'’t play an instrument,

just play it really loud,

and no one will hear

how you bad you sound.

- I never heard that before.

- That'’s '’cause I just made it up.

[rim sh*t]

- [gasps]

Maybe a little magic will help the music.

[jazzy saxophone music]

- That'’s some nice tootin'’, sis.

How about we add a little bit more b*at?

[funky drum b*at]

- You guys, that sounds great!

- You think that'’s great?

Watch this!

[meowing]

[squealing]

[funky music]

- Now we can have our dance party.

- Not without a dance floor.



- I guess there'’s only one thing left to say.

Let'’s boogie!

♪ Have a sleepover with disco lights ♪

- It'’s official.

Dancing is my new favorite thing to do.

- This is a blast!

I wish the dancing would never stop.

- Boom Zahramay! Third wish of the day.

- My last wish!

- Shimmer and Shine, never stop dancing divine.

[funky music]



- Why can'’t I stop dancing?

- Because of your wish!

As long as the music'’s playing,

the dancing can go on and on and on!

- But I didn'’t mean to make that wish.

- My mistake, Leah.

I guess I was just moved by the music.

- That'’s okay, Shine.

I love this mistake.

I could never get sick of dancing.

- And I could never get sick of confetti.

See? Told you we'’d need confetti.

[sneezes]

- [panting]

- Nothing stops sleep like exercise.

One more lap, and I'’ll have run--

- [panting]

- One lap.

Totally broke my record.

Man, I hope the meteor shower starts soon.

I don'’t know how much longer I can stay awake.

But you'’ll help me, won'’t you, Rocket?

- [snoring]

- Ugh.

Some dogs just aren'’t up for the challenge.

[funky music]



- [gasps]



If I could just get one bite...

[grunting]

- Okay, I take back what I said.

I'’m sick of dancing.

- Try doing it upside down.

It makes it so much more interesting.

- And we need to figure out how to stop the music

without any wishes left.

- Don'’t worry, Leah.

I'’ll stop the music from playing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

I was wrong.

Phew!

Even my ears are tired of dancing.

I'’m just gonna give them a little rest.

[gasps]

You guys!

I can'’t hear the music any more!

Or my own voice.

Am I yelling?

- Yes, but you'’re also not dancing.

- It works!

I'’m not dancing either!

We just have to hold pillows over our ears

for the rest of our lives!



- Or instead of covering our ears,

we can cover the instruments.

And once the instruments stop playing the music,

we can finally stop dancing.

- What did she say?

- Thanks! You look nice too!

- Everybody, pile the pillows on the instruments!



[thudding, music fading]

[crashing, feedback whines]

[saxophone music]

- I think we'’re gonna need a lot of pillows for this one.

The saxophone won'’t stop saxophoning.

- I know what we can do.

Everybody duck!

- I don'’t see a duck.

- I get it now.

Duck as in "get down." [giggles]

[sighs]

It would have been nice to see a duck.

They'’re so cute.

[meowing and chattering]

- You guys, do you hear that?

[rumbling]

- Sorry, my stomach'’s still mad

I didn'’t get to try that pizza.

- No, I mean the music. It stopped.

No more dancing.

[all yawning]

[rumbling]

[munches]

Oh, yeah.

That'’s the stuff.

Hey, Leah.

This sleepover has been a blast so far,

but is it okay if we do the sleeping part next?

[yawns]

- Shine, that is the best idea you'’ve ever had.

- And that'’s saying a lot.

Because my sister has a ton of great ideas!

Like tuna fish pudding.

- It tastes way better than it sounds.

[all yawning]

[gentle piano music]



[knock at door]

- Did you hear that?

It sounds like the drums are back!

- [gasps] I think someone'’s at the door.

- Maybe the drums are at the door.

- Only one way to find out.

- Hey, Leah, you awake?

- It'’s Zac! Hide!

- Leah, I did it. I stayed up all night.

- That'’s great, Zac.

- Cool, a room full of pillows.

You can totally nap anytime, anywhere.

- [sniffing]

[growling]

- Did you see sh**ting stars?

- Nope, not even one.

Turns out I got the date wrong.

The meteor shower'’s tonight.

- Oh, no.

- It happens, happens a lot.

Like this one time, I went to school on a Saturday

thinking it was Friday.

But it turned out okay, '’cause I drew

on the chalkboard all day.

And we all know that'’s the best part of school.

[yawns]

Anyway, how was your night, Leah?

- It was really--

[soft thudding]

Zac?

[giggles]

[whispering] Okay, you can come out now.

Thanks for coming to the sleepover, guys.

Without our mistakes, we wouldn'’t have had

such an awesome dance party.

- And without all the pillows, we wouldn'’t have been able

to stop the awesome dance party.

- We fixed our mistakes, and the day turned out great.

- See you tomorrow, Leah.

- Or we could totally come back tonight.

[yawns]

After we get some sleep.

- Our mistakes came out great when we worked together.

Can'’t wait till tomorrow, my best friends forever!

- [chattering]

- Shimmer! What are you doing?

- I know I should be sleeping.

But I wanted to get one more dance in.

- No, I mean, what are you doing dancing without me?

[funky music]



- Well, Shimmer, you were right.

- That things can only get better when we try

and try and try again?

- Yes.

And that a party always needs confetti!
