[ Birds singing]

[ Owl hooting...]

[ Hen squawks]

Cat: boo!

[ Squawking]

All: whoa!

[ All laughing]

[ Birds singing]

[ Quacking]

Hello?!

[ Quacks]

Hello?!

[ Others giggling]

Where is everybody?

Owl: hello, duck!

We're up here, duck.

What are you doing up in the tree?

We're climbing.

Duck: oh.

Come on up.

Owl: this is the biggest tree

In the whole woods.

And the best for climbing.

Or perching.

Here I come!

[ Quacks]

It's nice up here.

And this tree is very tall.

We're higher than all the other trees.

Isn't it beautiful, lucy?

[ Birds singing...]

[ Snoring]

Hmm...

Cat?

[ Continues snoring]

[ Murmuring]

[ Sleepily]: hmm?

Want to play tag?

Sure.

You're it!

Hey!

[ Laughing]

[ Laughing]

You're it!

Little bear: whoa.

[ Both laughing]

[ Emily giggles]

You're it, emily!

Oh!

[ Quacking...]

[ Laughing and shouting]

Emily: I'll get you!

Come back here!

[ Cat warbling]

[ Quacking excitedly]

[ Laughing and giggling...]

I'm going to get you back!

Whoa!

[ Hooting laughter]

Emily: oh! I'm going to get you!

I got you.

[ Hooting, laughing, quacking]

[ All laughing]

Little bear: you can't do that!

Lucy!

What's wrong, emily?

Where's lucy?

We thought she was with you.

She was...

But I must have

Left her in the tree.

Or maybe she's lost.

Then we'll just go back and find her.

[ Quacking, hooting]

Lucy?

Duck [ yelling]: oh, lucy!

Lucy?

[ Hoots twice, startled]

Nothing in there.

Don't worry, emily.

I'm sure she's fine.

Lucy?

Lucy?

I'm tired.

Me, too.

Maybe we should stop and have a rest.

I hope lucy's not lost.

I lost some buttons once.

I lost a ball of string.

And I lost some feathers.

Grandfather bear lost a silver pocket watch.

[ Sighs]

I wonder if a goblin found lucy.

A goblin?

Yes. There's goblins in these woods.

Cat: that's true.

We've seen them before.

Would a goblin want lucy?

Little bear: oh, yes.

They always take things that don't belong to them.

Lucy: are there a lot of goblins?

Mm-hmm. Lots.

More than two?

Oh, more than two times two.

I'm sure lucy can take care of herself

Even with goblins.

Duck: what are they going to do with lucy?

Maybe they'll lock her up so she can't get away.

Lucy would never let them do that.

Maybe they'll play a game, using lucy as the ball.

I don't think so.

Maybe they'll make her into soup.

Emily: oh, that's terrible!

[ Pulley squeaking...]

Little bear: I know.[ Splash]

Maybe they'll make lucy their queen.

Emily: I guess that would be nice.

But even if she was queen, lucy would still miss me.

And all of her friends.

Then she would have to escape.

How could she do that?

She'd have to run away.

Does that mean that goblins

Will be looking for her, too?

Uh-oh.

Emily: oh, no!

Lucy's really gone.

The goblins must have found her.

Are you sure you left her here?

I think so.

Or, or maybe it was over there.

Hey!

Emily: that's lucy's bonnet.

But where's lucy?

Maybe the goblins took her down that hole.

Duck: lucy?

Little bear: just a little bit more.

[ Grunting]

You found her!

Oh, lucy, I'm so glad you're safe!

Thank you, little bear.

You're welcome.

Here's your bonnet, queen lucy.

All hail lucy, queen of the goblins!

All: hail lucy, queen of the goblins!

Hail lucy, queen of the goblins!

[ Mimicking airplane]

I'm in the air, flying!

Flying higher than the highest tree.

Hello, down there.

Hello, little bear.

[ Mimics engine roaring]

Zoom.

Zip right through the clouds.

[ Engine roaring...]

Little bear.

I could use your help over here.

And he flies back down to earth to help his dear mother bear.

And he lands back on earth.

Did you have a good flight?

Very good.

I flew as high as the clouds.

I'm very proud of you.

Now, let's see

If you can stay on the ground

Long enough to pack this.

I'm going to surprise grandmother bear.

[ Slurps]

There.

Was that fast?

Very fast.

Thank you, little bear.

Father bear: oh, ow.

Are you all right, dear?

Some one left the footstool in the middle of the room.

Oh. I was flying.

The foot stool is for feet, not flying.

Sorry.

[ Sighs gruffly]

What's wrong with father bear?

He's so grouchy.

He's tired.

He didn't sleep

Very well last night.

He probably needs to take a nap.

Hmm. Probably.

Yes?

I was just wondering

If you wanted a pillow.

No, thank you, little bear.

Okay.

Would you like your slippers?

I'm fine.

Okay.

I have some errands to run.

[ Clearing throat]

Can you look after things while I'm gone?

I guess.

I know he's a real monster today

But he'll fall asleep soon.

Monster?

[ Kisses]

I'll be back in a few hours.

Hours?

Monster?

[ Yawning]

[ Gasps]

Hmm... Interesting.

[ Snoring...]

Father bear?

[ Snorting]

Oh!

I'm going to play with mitzi.

Don't slam the...

[ Slams]

...door.

[ Sighs]

Little bear: his teeth were sharp and he was ten feet tall!

That doesn't sound like father bear.

That's because he's turned

Into a monster.

Mother bear said so.

What are you going to do?

I don't know.

What do you do with a monster

Living in your house?

Hmm.

This is very serious.

Very serious indeed.

Where are you going?

I want to see the monster.

I don't think that's such a good idea.

Wait for me!

I think we should look one at a time.

In case he sees us, we'll have a chance

Of getting away.

Who's going to look first?

I've already seen him.

I'll look first.

[ Snoring...]

Little bear: do you see him?

Do you see the monster?

[ Gasps]

I saw him!

It was awful!

Your turn, owl.

I don't really want to.

[ Both grunting]

[ Father bear grumbling]

[ Snoring]

Let me down.

I, I've seen enough.

There's a monster living in your house.

I told you.

What are we going to do?

We could try to catch him.

And tame him.

Maybe he's hungry.

We could feed him.

What do monsters eat?

Owls, bears and monkeys.

[ All gasp]

Maybe he likes pudding.

Pudding?

Monster pudding.

Wait!

[ Rattling]

[ Snoring...]

[ Door creaking]

[ Floor creaks loudly]

What? What?

[ All gasping]

[ Snoring continues...]

[ Sighs]

That was close.

Did you see how hungry he looked?

I had my eyes closed the whole time.

Let's make pudding.

Monster pudding.

[ Mitzi whispering]: pass me the flour.

Little bear: we don't need that much.

Mitzi: how many eggs?

Little bear: I'm not sure.

I've never made monster pudding before.

What do you think?

Mitzi: I don't know. I never had a monster.

Little bear: shh.

It's almost finished.

How are we going to feed him?

Very, very carefully.

Father bear: what's going on over there?

Little bear?

It's the monster!

He knows your name.

He's coming!

[ All gasp]

What is all this mess?

We're... Making pudding?

Monster p--

Shh.

Monster?

What monster?

Want some?

[ Slurps]

[ Laughing]

What's so funny?

You should see yourselves.

You look like three little pudding monsters.

[ All laughing]

Monster pudding

For all the pudding monsters.

[ Smacks lips]

[ Calls]: hello!

What a mess!

[ Growling]

I think mother bear needs to have some pudding.

Some monster pudding.

Monster pudding?

[ Slurps]

Mmm!

Good night, little bear.

Good night, mother bear.

Sleep tight.

Don't let the bedbugs bite.

Bedbugs?

Hmm...

[ Chuckling]

Don't worry, it's just a saying.

[ Kisses]

[ Creaking]

[ Sighs]

Bedbugs.

Hmm...

[ Growls]

[ Gruffly]: bedbugs!

Better not bite me!

[ Growling...]

[ Snoring]

[ Whistling]

Bedbugs.

[ Whistling]

[ Door opens and shuts]

[ Whistling, snoring...]

[ Quiet snoring...]

Uh... Oh!

Can't you sleep, little bear?

I think there are bugs in my bed.

[ Chuckles]

Oh, little bear.

Bedbugs, everywhere.

Oh, I see.

[ Snoring loudly]

[ Whistling]

I think father bear swallowed a bedbug.

[ Snorts]

[ Smacking]

[ Laughing]

You just can't escape those bedbugs.

[ Snoring]

Hmm, what? Bugs?

[ Laughing]

Whoa!

Where?

Wh-what bugs?

Bedbugs in the bed, father bear.

Don't let them bite.

Where? Where?!

[ Laughs]

There!

There's one.

[ Giggling]

There's another one.

Here's one.

Oh! Hey!

I'm not a bedbug.

[ Chuckles]

You look like a bedbug to me.

[ Growls]

Oh!

[ Laughing...]

Oh!

I am a bedbug!

[ Growls]

[ Laughing]

Bedbug bites feel more like tickles.

Because we only have little teeth.

[ Growling]

[ Continues growling...]

[ Laughing]

Oh!

Wait.

Listen.

Did you hear that?

What?

Some bedbugs are very sneaky.

They sneak up on you, and...

[ Growls]

[ Squealing, laughing]

Now I'm the bedbug!

Here comes another bedbug!

Sneaky bedbugs!

[ Laughing, giggling]

Hey!

Bedbugs like to have pillow fights.

That's true.

Father bear overboard!

Whoa![ Thud]

Bedbug overboard!

Whoa!

Both: oh!

[ Both laughing...]

Ooh!

Got you!

All right.

Are you two bedbugs getting tired yet?

[ Yawns]

Yes...

[ Yawns again]

I think so.

[ Yawns]

Me, too.

[ Yawns]

[ Sighs]

Are any bedbugs still hiding in the pillows?

All gone.

[ Giggling]

We'd better give this blanket a good shake--

Just in case.

Yes. Bedbugs like to hold on tight.

[ Laughing]

No more bedbugs.

[ Sighs]

Good night, father bear.

[ Kisses]

[ Yawns]

Oh... Good night.

[ Kisses]

Good night, mother bear.

[ Yawns]

Good night.

[ Snoring]

Now we're as snug as three bugs in a rug.

Bugs in a rug?

What kind of bugs?

[ Chuckling]

It's just a saying, little bear.

Oh.

[ Snoring]

[ Snoring louder...]

[ Snoring quietly...]

[ Sighs]

[ Door creaking open and closed]
