While I learn how to play baseball with my friends.

Look, why don't you play on the slide?

I'll be just a hop, skip, and a jump away

Over on the field where you can see me.

Bye, max.

Hi, everybody.

I'm ready to play baseball.

- Airplane!

Airplane.

- Wow, what a pitch.

- Did you see how fast that was, ruby?

- [Gulps]

Uh-huh.

- Okay, ruby.

You're up!

Do you remember the rules, ruby?

- Um...i'm not sure.

- Okay, ruby, if you swing and miss, it's a strike.

- Stiiirike!

- If that happens three times, then you're out.

- You're out of here!

- If you hit the ball,

You get to run all the way around the bases.

First base.

Both: ah. Ooh.

- Second base.

Both: ah. Ooh.

- Third base.

Both: ah. Ooh.

- And then...home.

- [Coughing]

- And that's a home run!

- Got it?

- Uh-huh.

I'm gonna get a home run.

- All right, ruby.

- Batter up!

- Psst.

That means get ready, ruby.

- Oh, thanks, louise.

- Okay, roger.

Let's play ball!

- Ready.

[Plane buzzing]

- Stiiirke one!

- Max.

Could I have a time-out, please?

- Okay, ruby.

Time-out!

[Plane buzzing]

- Airplane!

- Max, your rabbit racer airplane

Is getting in the way of our baseball game.

It's my first time playing, and I want to get a home run,

So I need you to help me, okay, max?

Here. You like loud toys.

Why don't you play with your dump-a-lump dump truck?

Bye, max. Have fun.

[Toys crashing]

- [Gasps]

Airplane.

- Oh, brother.

[Plane buzzing]

- Play ball!

[Plane buzzing]

- Whoa!

- Stiirike two!

- Max.

- Um...could I please have another time-out, valerie?

- [Grudgingly] all right.

- Thanks.

- Time-out!

[Plane buzzing]

- [Laughing] airplane!

- I know you like your airplane, max, but it's getting in the way

Of our baseball game,

And I really want to get a home run.

Please play with something else now, okay?

- Do you know what's taking her so long?

- Uh-uh.

- We just want to play ball.

- Uh-huh.

- Here you go.

Can't-sit-up slug loves sliding.

Whee.

See, max?

Thanks, max.

- Airplane.

- Let's see a big hit, ruby!

- Go, ruby! Go!

All: play ball!

- Okay. Okay.

[Plane whirring]

Whoa.

[Plane whirring]

Huh?

- Yay!

[Plane whirring]

- [Laughing] airplane!

- Oh, max.

[Plane whirring]

[Remote beeping]

[Plane whirring]

[Remote beeping]

[Plane whirring]

- Home run!

- Wow, ruby.

- Max, I know you love your supersonic stealth jet,

But could you please play with it somewhere else?

I really want to get a home run.

- Wow, you did it, ruby.

- You hit the ball way out in the outfield.

- And you got a home run. - Uh-huh.

- I did?

- You did it, ruby.

You got a home run. - Yay, ruby.

[All laughing, cheering]

- I did.

I really did it.

I got a home run,

Thanks to max's...

- Airplane!

[Strauss'blue danube playing]



- It's beautiful, ruby.

It'll be perfect for our ballet.

- Yes, it will.

And the ballet programs we made will add a professional touch,

Don't you think, louise?

- Oh, yes.

It's going to be a great ballet, ruby.

- I know.

There are three things you need to make a great ballet:

Great scenery...

- We've got that.

- Great dancers...

- That's us.

[Both chuckle]

- And great music.

[Horn honking]

- Race car.

- Oh, no.

[Gasps] careful, max.

You nearly ran into the backdrop for our ballet.

Do you know what a backdrop is, max?

It's a big picture of a scene.

- This one's of a beautiful ballet stage.

- And it's called a backdrop

Because it drops down in back of you

And makes it look like you're right in the picture.

- So when we do our ballet,

We'll look like we're on a real ballet stage.

- Don't you think grandma will love it, max?

- Race car.

- Sorry, max.

We can't race you now.

We're getting ready to do our ballet at grandma's house.

Race cars and ballet do not mix.

- Race car.

[Horn honks]

[Wheels squeaking]

- Come on, louise.

I think our backdrop is dry now.

- Let's not forget the music. - Right you are.

[Wheels squeaking]

[Wheels squeaking]

- Ruby, look out!

[Boom box crashes]

- [Gasps]

Max, you made me drop our ballet music.

- [Gasps]

[Boom box grinding]

- Oh, no. It's broken.

We can't have a ballet without music.

- Yes, we can.

We can sing the music.

- Oh.

Do you remember how it goes?

- I think so.

It goes...

♪ La, dee, dee, dee, dum

[Horn honking]

Max, please don't honk.

I'm trying to remember a tune.

- Race car.

- Ah, little brothers.

[Both chuckle]

- Okay, ruby.

Now how does the tune go?

- It goes...um...

Uh, it goes...

[Sighs]

- Max's honking must have made you forget it.

- Well, don't worry.

I'll remember before showtime.

- Wow, the set is going to look great, ruby.

- Only the best for great ballet dancers.

- But we still need our music.

Do you remember how the tune goes?

- Let's see.

It goes...

♪ La, dee, dee, dee, dum

[Horn honking]

[Gasps] whoa.

Max.

- Race car.

- I told you, max.

I can't race you now.

I'm trying to remember a tune.

Oh.

I just remembered.

We forgot our programs back at home.

Could you please race back home and get them for us?

- Oh, that would be such a big help to us.

- Race car!

- Thanks, max. [Horn honks]

[Both chuckle]

He won't be back for ages.

[Wheels squeaking]

- Race car!

- [Gasps]

Louise, I think I remember the ballet tune.

It goes...

[Horn honking]

- That was fast.

- Too fast.

Slow down, max.

- Race car.

- Max, I told you before,

Race cars and ballet do not mix.

Here.

If you want to race,

You can race your rabbit racers out on the pathway.

- Won't that be fun, max?

- Race you there.

[Horn honking]

[Wheels squeaking]

Both: on your marks.

Get set. Go!

- Race car!

[Wheels squeaking]

- Now I can get back to remembering that tune.

- I sure hope so.

[Wheels squeaking]

[Brakes squealing]

- [Sighs]

[Wheels squeaking]

- I've almost got it.

♪ La, dee, dee, dee

- Keep going, ruby.

We can't have a great ballet without a great ballet tune.

- I know.

Ugh.

I can't remember.

♪ La, dee, dee, dee, da

[Horn honking]

[Wheels squeaking]

[Gasps]

Stop, max.

[Brakes squealing]

[Horn honking]

- Max, didn't you hear?

Ballet and race cars don't mix.

- Max, do that again.

[Horn honking]

[Gasps]

That's it. I remember now.

Honk-honk, honk-honk

Max, you found my missing tune.

- And just in time.

- Is it time for the ballet?

- You bet, grandma.

[Wheels squeaking]

What a great ballet.

- Great dancing.

- Race car.

[Both grunting]

- Are you ready to earn our gymnastic bunny badge, louise?

- Yes, I am, ruby, at least, I think I am.

- Let's see what we have to do.

It says we're supposed to do a somersault.

- And then a cartwheel.

- And then we have to hold a handstand...

Both: for five whole seconds.

[Both gasp]

- It takes a lot of practice to be a good gymnast.

- And strong arms and legs too.

- Well, the only way to get strong arms and legs

Is to practice, practice, practice.

- Swing.

- Oh, hi, max.

You want to go for a swing?

Okay, I'll go and give you a push,

But then I have to hurry back.

Louise and I have to practice our gymnastics routine

So we can earn our gymnastic bunny badge.

Max?

- Swing?

- Okay. I'm coming.

Be right back, louise.

- Okay, ruby.

- [Chuckles]

Do you need a lift onto the swing?

- Swing.

- Okay, ready?

One, two, three.

[Grunting]

Oh, you're getting heavy, max.

High.

Higher.

Highest.

That should keep you going for a while.

- First we do a somersault.

[Grunts]

- Nice one, louise.

- Thanks, ruby.

Now you try.

- [Grunts]

- Yay, ruby.

Okay, next is the cartwheel.

[Grunting]

Ah.

- [Grunting]

Both: yay, we did it.

- Okay, now comes the really hard one.

- Doing a handstand

And holding it for five whole seconds.

- How will we know when five seconds are up?

- Bunny scout leader told me a really easy way

To count seconds.

If you say "bunny scout" between the numbers,

It takes a second.

You do your handstand, and I'll count.

- All right.

[Grunting]

- One bunny scout, two bunny scouts,

Three bunny scouts--

- Ah, I can't hold it!

[Sighs]

- Oh, are you all right, louise?

- Yeah, but holding a handstand for five whole seconds

Is a lot harder than it looks.

- Now I'll try. - And I'll count.

- Swing.

- Max, I thought you were swinging by yourself.

Okay.

I'll take you back over there

And give you another push.

I'll lift you up this one more time,

And then I want you to stay in the swing and swing yourself.

- Swing.

- One, two, three.

[Grunting]

There.

High.

Higher.

Highest.

Super highest.

Okay, you're on your own now, max.

Here we go again, louise.

Somersault.

- [Grunting]

And, ruby, somersault.

- [Grunting]

- And now cartwheel.

And handstand for five whole seconds.

[Grunting]

- One bunny scout,

Two bunny scouts,

Three bunny scouts--

- Ah! I can't do it!

[Sighs]

- Five whole seconds is a whole lot of time.

- My arms just aren't strong enough.

- Let me try, louise.

[Grunting]

- One bunny scout,

Two bunny scouts,

Three bunny scouts--

- I'm nearly there.

Four bunny scouts.

- Swing?

- [Moans]

[Sighs]

All right, max.

This is the very, very last time.

[Chuckles]

You really have to learn to get on the swing yourself, max.

One, two, three.

[Grunts]

Huh. That was a little easier.

High.

Higher.

Highest.

And, wow, really high.

See you later, max.

I'm back.

- It's a good thing.

Here comes bunny scout leader.

- Hello, bunny scout ruby and bunny scout louise.

Both: hello, bunny scout leader.

- Are you ready to earn your gymnastic bunny badge?

- I hope so, bunny scout leader.

- All right. First, the somersault.

- [Grunting]

Ah.

- [Grunting]

- Nicely done.

Very nice finish.

Both: thank you, bunny scout leader.

- Now cartwheel.

- [Grunting]

Ah.

- [Grunting]

- Very good, bunny scouts.

And now the five-second handstand.

- Good luck, louise.

- You too, ruby.

[Grunting]

- One bunny scout,

Two bunny scouts,

Three bunny scouts.

- [Grunting]

Oh, no! [Grunting]

- Nice try, louise.

- Oh, too bad.

Now it's your turn to try, bunny scout ruby.

- Okay.

I can do it.

[Grunting]

- One bunny scout,

Two bunny scouts,

Three bunny scouts...

Both: four bunny scouts...

All: five bunny scouts!

- I did it.

- Congratulations, bunny scout ruby.

You've earned your gymnastic bunny badge.

You must have practiced very hard to get such strong arms.

- Actually, I think I know how I built up my muscles.
