- Hi, I'm Calvin.

Welcome to Mutt & Stuff.

[barks]

Hey, Zippy.

That's the coolest dog on four paws.

Hey, Zippy,

do that new dance you've been working on,

and I'll film it.

[upbeat music]



That was boogie-woogie awesome, Zippy.

I brought a camera today because we're making a movie.

And I've invited

a world-famous movie director to come help.

[barks]

What's a movie director?

Well, it takes lots of people to make a movie,

and the director's the one who's in charge.

[barks]

- Of course you can be in the movie, Zippy.

Everyone will.

Come on, let's go start our day.

[playful music]

[buzzer sounds]

Thanks, Zippy.

[bell dinging]

Good boy. Whoo-hoo!



Calling all dogs.

It's movie day!

- Hey, don't forget your popcorn,

Or should I say pup corn?

Ha-ha-ha, you know, 'cause puppies,

they start with pup, and then corn, it's like--

You guys get it.

- Remember to come back at the end of the day

so we can watch our movie.

You won't want to miss it.

- Hey, Calvin. - Hey.

- Oh, I can't wait to be in the movie today.

What could I be? Hmm...

Ooh, I could be you, Calvin.

Uh, paws up, tails out.

Let's go to Mutt & Stuff.

Whoo!

[laughter]

- Well, sounds good to me.

Time for school.

Good morning, everyone.

It's time for the turbo-fast doggy roll call.

Everybody here?

[dogs barking]

Are all mice here?

- Mouse in the house.

- Thanks, Noodles.

- Ooh!

I'm here, and I'm ready for my close-up.

- Great, everyone's here.

And I'm so excited,

because today is movie day!

- Whoo-hoo-hoo!

Movie day!

- And to help us,

I've invited the world's most famous movie director,

Claude Boupé.

- What?

- Did someone say...

Claude Boupé?

- Yes, I did. He's here!

- Ha-ha!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It is I, the great movie director Claude Boupé.

- Oh, it is I, Calvin of Mutt & Stuff.

- Ah.

I like your style, Calvin.

You're going to be a wonderful actor in our movie.

- Oh, but I won't be in the movie,

but they will.

[exciting music]



- Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa, wait.

My actors are dogs? - Of course.

Mutt & Stuff is a school for dogs.

- I've never worked with dogs before.

I've never even pet one.

Um, I don't think I can do this, Calvin.

- You have nothing to worry about, Claude.

I'll help you.

- You will? - Mm-hmm.

- Very well, then.

It'll be my greatest challenge ever!

- Great. Class, meet Claude Boupé.

- Oh, hello, Claude Boupé.

- Okay, I remember learning

you say hello to dogs like this.

Hello, dogs.

- Oh, Claude...

you don't say hello by sticking your hand out.

- Oh, of course. What a fool I've been.

You say hello to dogs like this.

Hello, dogs.

- Claude, here, I'll show you.

You let a dog come to you and give you a sniff.

Hey, Zippy.

Dogs say hello with their noses.

- I get it.

Zippy, that's a beautiful coat.

- Yeah. - Speaking of coats,

it's time to get these pooches into wardrobe.

- Wardro-what, now?

- Wardrobe. In other words,

it's dress-up time!

Hey, guys, try on some outfits for the movie.

[upbeat music]

[barks]



[barks]

- [laughs] Huzzah!

Call me Sir Barksalot.

On guard--whoa, what?

Banana, that doesn't make any sense.

Okay, call me Sir Barksalot.

On guard--okay, what's--

Rubber chicken? [clears throat]

One more time.

Call me Sir Barksalot.

Ha-ha!

It's--all right.

Well, you know what?

It's my first day...

as a knight.

[chuckles]

- Hey, Davenport.

- Davenport! - Scooba-dee-dooba!

- Oh, hey there, Zoe.

- Why is that on your head?

- Well, it's my costume for the movie, you see,

where I'm going to play a bottle of cat-chup.

[loopy trombone note]

[laughter]

- I'm okay. - Meow too.

[upbeat music]



- Now it is time to film our first scene of the day.

- Ooh. - Ah.

- Okay, dogs, I'm going to need by big dragon

to run quickly after my beautiful princess

and my brave knight, got it?

- Yes, uh, I think.

- Good, let's make some movie magic.

- Yeah.

- I was think--oh.

Princess Pickles, you followed me.

I'm going to need you to stay at your place, my dear.

Over here, by Pixie.

Now, Pixie, where are you going?

Where--

- Uh, I'm right here, hello.

- Hey, how's it going?

- Calvin, these dogs are acting like animals.

- This just isn't working out.

- Well, directing dogs

is way different than directing humans.

Here, I'll show you some dog commands.

Okay, Princess Pickles, Pixie, Stuff...come.

- Okay.

- Good job.

Okay, now this is stay.

Princess Pickles, Pixie...

Stuff...

stay.

- Stay.

- Bravo, Calvin.

You are truly the Claude Boupé of dog teaching.

- Thank you.

So, what's the next scene?

- Next scene is the puppy car chase scene.

- I know exactly where we can find some puppies.

Follow me.

- Calvin, where are my puppies?

Where are my cars?

It's time to sh**t the puppy car chase scene.

- Well, I present to you the Puppy Playpen.

- Ah, Puppy Playpen.

Of course, okay, so obvious.

All right, lights, cameras, puppies!

[upbeat music]

- ♪ Puppy playtime

- It's time to film our next scene

of a big dragon in the city.

That's you, Pixie.

Now, stay here.

And when I say, Action,

I want you to come through the city

and knock down the buildings.

Got it?

[barks]

Action.

Pixie, come.

That's it, Pixie, that's it.

Now knock the buildings over.

Ah, so close.

Knock the buildings over, Pixie.

Lean into the buildings.

Come on, use your legs.

Unleash your inner dragon.

We had a meeting about this, Pixie.

Knock the buildings over.

Ah, Pixie, please knock the buildings over.

[barks]

Cut, cut.

- How's it going?

- Calvin, it's-- it's not working out.

[dog whines]

No offense, Pixie.

[barks]

I think I need a bigger dog for this job,

Like, a really, really big dog.

- A really, really big dog?

- Gallop-gallop- gallop-gallop-gallop.

- Hey.

- Stuff. - Huh?

- How would you like to be our dragon?

- Oh, yeah!

I would love that, but I'm already the knight.

- You could be the dragon and the knight.

- Oh, boy. Yeah--wait.

How can I be the dragon and the knight?

- Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

- A good question.

Don't worry. I, Claude Boupé,

will think of a brilliant idea.

I just have to figure out what it is.

- Oh, hey there, Giggle and Wiggle.

I'm gonna make you giggle and wiggle with a movie joke.

[clears throat]

Why did the cow start acting?

Because he wanted to be a moo-vie star.

[laughs]

Is that a little giggle I see?

A little wiggle, maybe?

Huh?

Well, maybe next time!

- Okay, Stuff, first you'll be the knight.

- I am a knight.

- Ha-ha, very good.

And then you'll walk behind here...

- Mm-hmm.

- And do a quick change into your dragon costume.

Then you'll be the dragon.

Want to try it?

- Oh, you bet, Claude.

Okay, first I am a knight.

Then I walk behind here.

Rawr!

Now I'm a dragon.

- [laughs]

You were a wonderful knight.

Now you're a dragon.

- [laughs] Whee!

- Hey, Davenport.

- Davenport. - Squirrel burglar!

Oh, hi there, Zoe.

- Where do cats watch movies?

- Hmm... in a meow-vie theater.

[loopy trombone note]

[laughter]

- I'm okay. - Meow too.

[upbeat music]

- Hello, Noodles.

Noodles!

I was told that a great actor

by the name of Noodles lived here.

- Psst, hello. [giggles]

- Noodles, is that you?

- Down here. [giggles]

- Down where?

Ah, there.

Hello, are you in there?

- Hi-ho. - [screams]

- You're a mouse! - Yeah.

- You're a mouse. - Yeah.

- You're a mouse. - Yeah.

- You're a m-- - Mm-hmm.

- Okay, okay, okay. I can handle this.

My actor is a mouse.

Very good.

Noodles... - Yeah?

- Would you like to be in our movie?

- [gasps] Oh, oh, yes, yes.

I am such a good actor.

- Well, show me what you can do.

- [chuckles]

Okay, okay, okay.

First, this is me acting surprised.

[gasps]

This giant piece of cheese is for me?

Okay, now sadness.

Why?

Why?!

Oh, why did I leave my cheese out in the rain?

Oh, woe is me.

And now excitement.

Oh...oh...ah...

Yee-haw!

[humming excitedly] [laughs]

- That's a great yee-haw. - Thanks.

- Hey, why don't you be our cowboy for the movie?

And Cuddles will be your mighty horse.

What do you say? - Yee-haw!

Whoo-hoo!

Whoo-hoo-hoo!

Giddy-up, doggy!

Ride 'em, cow-mouse.

Yee-haw!

- And we got it. Cut!

- Yee-haw! - Uh, Cuddles, cut.

Uh, stay?

- Whoa!

Ugh. [panting]

- Amazing. You got the part.

- Yee...haw.

Whew.

- Ready, doggies?

Action.

Huh.

All right, let's try it again.

Action.

- I think Claude might need a little help.

Hey, Claude.

- Oh, Calvin. Forgive me.

I just can't get the dogs to act in the big final scene.

I just want them to be amazing.

- Hmm.

Well, maybe you should try focusing on what the dogs need.

- Well, I want them to jump...

fly...be hilarious.

Oh.

I should just let them do what dogs do naturally: play.

- Yep.

And the best place to play is on our playground.

Come on, dogs.

Paws up, tails out.

Let's go play outside... and make a movie.

[upbeat music]

[dogs barking]

- Action!

♪ ♪

Just be natural.



That's good.

Good, good, yes, yes.

Get some lift.

Catch the object.

- Okay, Zippy, let's go.

- Cut!

- Ooh, hey, look, Sid.

The dogs are making a movie.

- Maybe I could be in it.

I bet I'm a great actor.

- Oh, no way.

You've never acted before.

- Yeah, but I'm branching out.

[laughing]

- [groaning]

- Branching, I'm branching out,

'cause I'm a tree.

- Yeah, we get it.

- Tree. - Yeah.

- Come on in.

It's movie time.

Junior Shades, right here.

[camera shutter clicking]

- Every movie premier needs a red carpet,

and I'm the picture-taking paparazzi.

Make that paw-parazzi.

[laughs]

Please tell me what you're wearing today.

[barks]

Hey, Stuff,

- Oh, well, these are my favorite shorts.

That's why I wear them every day.

- Pixie, Pixie, right here.

Perfect.

Zippy, very nice.

[barks]

Oh, so handsome.

Calling all kids.

It's almost time for the Mutt & Stuff movie!

- Friends, families, and puppies,
