- Hello, Monster Machines!

Today'’s race is about to begin.

[cheers and applause]

[truck horn honking]

- Whoo-hoo!

- Hey, Blaze, can I get a picture?

- How about an autograph?

- Okay, okay.

- So, Blaze, do you think you'’re gonna win today or what?

- All I know is, we'’re gonna do our best.

Right, A.J.?

- You said it, Blaze!

- Whoo-hoo! - We love you, Blaze!

[horn honking]

- Coming through.

- Crusher!

Crusher, sweetie!

Look how fast I am now.

[screaming]

[goofy music]

[yelling]



Stop, rocket skis!

You'’re going the wrong way-- [yells]



- Crusher?

Where are you going?

- [yells]

- The finish line'’s over there.

[tires screeching]

- Owie!

- [yelling]

I can'’t...

stop these...

rocket skis!

[yells]

- Oh, my!

Crusher has left the building!

- [yelling]



- Oh, no!

Crusher'’s in big trouble.

- We'’ve got to stop those rocket skis and save him.

- Wait for me, dearies.

- Grammy?

- That'’s right.

And if my Crusher'’s in trouble,

then I'’ve got to help save him.

Hang on, Crushy!

Grammy'’s coming!

[tires squealing]

- Follow that Grammy!

[upbeat music]

You know, I'’m starting to think these rocket skis

were a bad idea.

[yelling]

- Excuse us! - Coming through!

- Make way for Grammy, pretty please.

- [screaming]

- My goodness, Blaze.

Those rocket skis aren'’t stopping.

How are we gonna rescue my sweet Crushy?

- Don'’t worry, Grammy.

We'’ll think of something.

- I have an idea!

Look!

A jump rope! - Yeah!

[engine revving]

Maybe this will stop the rocket skis.

- [yelling]



- Well? Go on.

Give it a try.



- [yelling]



[screams]

- Lug nuts!

The rocket skis pulled so hard on the jump rope

that it broke!

- Oh, dear.

It wasn'’t strong enough.

- The jump rope didn'’t have enough tensile strength.

- Tensile strength is how hard you can pull on something

before it breaks.

- To rescue Crusher, we need to find something

with so much tensile strength,

that it won'’t break,

no matter how hard the rocket skis pull.

- [yelling]

I can'’t stop!

Help me!

- Hang on, Crushy!

We'’re coming!

[tires squealing]



- [yelling]

- Oh, my!

Those rocket skis are taking my Crushy

towards that warehouse.

- Uh-oh.

But that'’s the crab warehouse!

- Crab warehouse?

[yells]



[yells]

Crabs!

- Hello!

- Pinching crabs.

Ow, ow, ow, ow!

[crabs chittering]

[whimpering]



- There he goes!

Out the back door. - Wait, Grammy!

Watch out.

There are pinching crabs everywhere.

[crabs chittering]

- Oh, these little critters don'’t look so bad.

Coochie, coochie, coochie, coo.

[crabs chittering]

Oh!Manners.

[crabs chittering]

Oh, dear.

- Quick, Grammy.Up here.



- Whew! Such grabby little creatures.

- To catch up with Crusher, we need to get to that door.

- But we can'’t drive there.

Not with all these pinching crabs in the way.

[crabs chittering]

- Hey, I have an idea.

Let'’s use these cords to swing over the crabs.

- Ooh, Blaze!

You'’re so clever.

Now, stand back, dearies.

Grammy'’s gonna swing.

Whee!



Uh-oh.

[yells]

Thank you, Blaze.

That cord wasn'’t strong enough to hold old Grammy.

- To swing over the crabs,

Grammy needs a cord with a tensile strength of...

To swing over the crabs, A.J. needs a cord

We made it out of the crab warehouse.

- You know, crabby, I bet you wouldn'’t pinch so much

if I knitted you a nice pair of mittens.

[chittering]

- Ah! - Ooh!

[crabs chittering]

- Grammy!

[yelling]

- Crusher!

Don'’t worry, sweetie.

Grammy'’s coming!

[tires screeching]



- [yelling]



[yelling]



[horn honks]



[yells]

- I'’m coming, Crushy!

- Those rocket skis are going so fast.

We'’ve got to find something to stop them.

- Last time, we tried to stop the skis with a jump rope.

But it broke.

So this time, let'’s try...

a garden hose!

- Yeah!

That hose is thick and rubbery.

I bet it has more tensile strength than a jump rope.

- Do you think this hose is strong enough

to stop the rocket skis?

Let'’s try it.



- Whoa!Whoa!

[yelling]



- Oh, no! It broke!

- [yelling]

- My poor Crusher.

He'’s in such trouble.

- Don'’t worry, Grammy.

We'’ll stop those rocket skis.

- Yeah!

We just have to keep looking and find something

with enough tensile strength.

- Well, come on, then.

Let'’s get to it.

[tires squealing]

♪ Pull till it breaks

- ♪ Have you ever tried a tug of w*r ♪

♪ With a piece of spaghetti?

♪ '’Cause if you'’re gonna pull with all your might ♪

And nothing'’s gonna get in my way.

- Gaskets!

Look out, Grammy!



- Whew!

That was a close one.

- Oh, but we have to get past these logs.

My Crushy'’s counting on me.

- Don'’t worry, Grammy.

A.J. and I can engineer something to get past the logs.

- I know!

What if we build a wood chipper?

When logs go into a wood chipper,

this sharp piece spins around and chops them up

into little pieces.

Then, all the pieces go sh**ting out the back.

- Come on.

Let'’s turn me into a wood chipper.

The first part I need is a knuckle boom arm.

It grabs the logs and pulls them into the chipper.

To make the knuckle boom arm,

say, "knuckle boom arm."

Knuckle boom arm!

[machinery whirring]

Great!

Now I need the chipper disc.

That'’s the sharp part that spins around to chop up the logs.

To make the chipper disc, say, "chipper disc."

Chipper disc!

[machinery whirring]

And last, we need the discharge spout.

It'’s a pipe that sh**t out the chopped up pieces of wood.

To make the discharge spout, say, "discharge spout."

Discharge spout!

[machinery whirring]

Whoo-hoo!

I'’m a wood chipper Monster Machine!



- All right!

- Looking sharp, Blaze.

Now, let'’s chop up those logs.

- You got it, Grammy.

[tires squealing]

[engines revving]



- Ooh. Get ready.

Here they come!

- Help me use our wood chipper to chop up these logs.

When you see logs coming this way,

say, "logs."

all: Logs!



[machinery buzzing]



- All right! - Yeah!

- That was some wood chipping, Blaze.

- Come on, let'’s keep moving.

- When you see more logs coming,

say, "logs."

all: Logs!



[machinery buzzing]

- Yeah! - Great job, Blaze.

- Watch out, dearies.

That sounds like more logs.

- When you see logs coming this way,

say, "logs."

all: Logs!



[machinery buzzing]

- All right! - Yeah!

- Whoo-hoo!

- Just a little farther,

and we'’ll be at the top of the hill.

- When you see the logs coming,

say, "logs."

- I got it!



[engine revving]

[machinery buzzing]

- Oh, yeah!

- Whoo-hoo! - Whoo-hoo!

- We made it past the logs!

- High-tire.

- [yelling]

- There he goes!

- Crushy!

- Grammy!

Help!

- Come on, this way, guys.

[tires screeching]



- [yelling]

All right, rocket skis.

You need to stop before we run into any more gross stuff.

Like those...

spider webs!



Ugh! Yuck!

[sputtering]

Okay, rocket skis.

I mean it this time.

No more running into gross things, like...

bananas?



Ugh!

[sputtering]

That is it, rocket skis!

No more spider webs and no more bananas.

I definitely don'’t want to crash into that big,

disgusting mud mountain.



Mud Mountain?

Grammy!



[yelling]

- Gaskets!

The rocket skis are going to make Crusher crash

right into Mud Mountain.

We'’ve got to rescue him, fast.

- But how, Blaze?

We don'’t have anything with enough tensile strength

to stop the rocket skis.

- But I do!

We can use my yarn.



Now, sure, one piece of yarn doesn'’t have

a lot of tensile strength,

but when I put two pieces together,

it gets stronger.

And the more yarn I have,

the stronger it gets.



- Go, Grammy!

- Knit like the wind!



- Whoa!

- Check it out.

Grammy'’s making a thick rope with a lot of tensile strength.

- And that...

should...

do it.

There!

- Wow, that'’ssomerope.

- Come on!

Let'’s try it.

[engine revving]

- Hurry, dearies!

Rescue my Crushy!

- You can count on us, Grammy.

- [yelling]

- Uh-oh, Crusher'’s almost at Mud Mountain.

- [screams]

Help!

- To catch up with Crusher,

we'’re gonna need blazing speed.



To give me blazing speed,

say, "let'’s blaze!"

both: Let'’s blaze!



[engine revving]



- [yelling]

- Quick, Blaze. Now'’s your chance.

- Do you think Grammy'’s rope is strong enough

to stop the rocket skis?

Let'’s see.



- [yelling]

- Look!

Grammy'’s rope has so much tensile strength,

the rocket skis can'’t break it.

- [yells]

[whimpers]

Wait, what?

I stopped.

They stopped the rocket skis!



- Crushy. You'’re okay.

- Grammy, you did it!

You saved me!

- Oh, Grammy would do anything for you,

my sweet, sweet Crushy.

[smooches] My baby boy.

- [giggles]

- Glad you'’re okay, Crushy.

Uh--I mean, Crusher.

- Yeah.

And you'’ve got one cool Grammy.

- Hey! I have an idea.

What do you say we go celebrate with a little ice cream?

- Oh, yeah! - Sounds great.

- [giggles]

What kind of ice cream, Grammy?

- Any kind you want, honey.

- Oh! I'’m gonna get vanilla.

No, wait, I'’m gonna get strawberry.

No, chocolate!

Oh, or cherry.
