- Ooh.

Hey, Rocket, you seen Zippy?

- [barks]

- Got it. Thanks, Rocket.

[giggles]

Oh, Zippy!



- [barks]

- Morning, Zippy.

Hey, I really want to tell Calvin something,

so come on, let's go get Calvin.

[giggles]



Uh, hey, Junior Shades.

Is Calvin coming?

- [barks]

- Oh, he's coming right now?

Oh, boy!

Oh, Calvin,

I'm so glad you're here.

I have something really exciting to tell you.

Uh...Calvin?

You look different today.

Fuzzier, and with more drool.

- [barking]

- [chuckles] Wait, you're not Calvin.

You're Cuddles.

Where's Calvin?

[exciting music]



[whirring]

Oh, boy. [giggles]

- Here I am.

[both chuckle]

- Ooh. [giggles]



Whoo-hoo! Calvin.

Hey, Calvin, wait up.

Hey, Calvin, whoo. - [chuckles]

Hi, I'm Calvin.

Welcome to Mutt & Stuff.

- Calvin, hey, look what I have.

A new place to go roller-skating just opened up.

It's called Doggy Dynamo Roller Rink.

- Um...hmm...about that.

- We should go. It'd be so fun.

- Um, actually, Stuff, there's one thing I'm--

- Yeah, and there's this thing called double-buddy skate time

where you skate with your friend.

I really want to skate with you, Calvin.

It's gonna be paw-some!

- Uh, roller-skating, huh?

Uh, yeah, sure.

Sounds fun. [chuckles nervously]

- Whoo-hoo! [giggles]

- I have a problem.

I don't know how to roller-skate.

And if I fall in front of Stuff,

that'll be so embarrassing.

- Hey, Calvin, could I help start the day?

I'm really excited to go skating with you.

- Oh, yeah, sure, Stuff. Go for it.

- Ha! Yippee!

Here you go.

[giggles]

- [chuckles nervously]

I'm gonna have to learn how to roller-skate...fast.

- [chuckles] Oh, boy!

I've never pushed the button before.

This is so exciting! [giggles]

[playful music]

[laughs] Ding dong!

[bell ringing] Time to get our skate on.

[chuckles]



Who wants to go roller-skating today?

- Ooh, I do!

♪ Woof woof

♪ Oh wag wag

♪ Rollify a hydrant

Yeah!

- Yeah, come on, little Cricket.

Come on. There you go, Cowboy.

All right, Zippy. Whoo!

It's time to start class, finish class,

and go to the Doggy Dynamo Roller Rink.

Whoo-hoo. Oh, Calvin.

I can't wait to boogie-woogie on roller skates

with all my friends, and especially with you.

- [chuckles nervously] You said it, Stuff.

We're really gonna skate it up today.

- Yeah, we are. Whoo!

Ha-ha!



Calvin, can we skip everything and go now?

Can we? Can we?

- Uh, you want to go right now?

- Yeah.

- Stuff, we still have a few things to do

before we go roller-skating.

- Did someone say "roller-skating"?

- Hey, it's our favorite vet, Dr. Kristina.

- If you're going to go roller-skating,

then we need to talk about roller-skating safety.

- Oh, boy, I bet even roller-skating safety is fun.

- Fun and important.

But first you'll need some things to help you stay safe.

The first thing you'll need is...



Oops! A spatula?

We don't need a spatula.

[spatula bounces]

Oh, a violin.

Probably not, but...

[plays beautifully]

Still got it.

Ah, just what I wanted.

A helmet to keep your head safe.

- Thanks.

- And you'll need some kneepads for your knees.

- Oh. Hmm.

- I'm so glad I could help.

Have fun at the roller rink.

- Bye. - Bye-bye, Dr. Kristina.

- [chuckles] I've got my gear.

You guys can go play while I find some helmets for everyone.

- [giggles] - Extra big for you, Stuff.

- Aww.

[both chuckle]

Attention, dogs.

At the top of the slide, we have Murray,

the bestest buddy a dog could ever have.

[dogs barking]

I'm so happy you guys agree. [giggles]

He's going to use his teeny tiny roller skates

on his teeny tiny slippers

to go down this really big slide.

And there goes the fastest walrus on wheels.

Hooray for Murray! [giggles]

- Still need to learn how to skate.

Hey, maybe I could distract the dogs with these bouncy balls

and start practicing.



Who wants to play with a super duper bouncy ball?

[dogs barking]

Oh, you'd rather get ready for the roller rink?

Rocket, you know you want to play fetch.

- [barking]

- Princess Pickles,

how about a super duper bouncy ball

for a super duper princess?

- [growls, barks]

- Sonny, come on.

Chasing balls is one of your favorite things to do.

Come on, let's go outside. Come on.



Okay, who's ready to play fetch?



- [barks]

- Thanks for coming outside with me, Zippy.

You want to play fetch?



Nope.

Still too excited to roller-skate.

I've got to figure out how to skate right now.

I don't want to embarrass myself later.

- Hey, Marty. - Hmm?

- I want to go roller-skating,

but I don't have any legs.

- Well, that's the root of your problem.

- Yeah, I see. You made a little jokey joke.

- Yep, I made a joke.

- Yeah, 'cause we're trees, and we have roots, right?

- Yeah. - Heh, lots and lots of roots.

[chuckles] - Oh, brother.

- ♪ Rooty root root root root root ♪

♪ Root root root root

♪ ♪

- Okay, I have a plan.

I need to be alone so I can try roller-skating

without anyone seeing me. Hmm.

I'll try roller-skating while the dogs are having a snack.

Oh, dogs, it's snack time!

If this doesn't work, I don't know what I'll do.

- Hey, Davenport. Davenport!

- [screams, stammers]

Oh, hey, Zoe.

- If dogs go to the roller rink,

where do skunks go?

- Why, to the roller stink.

[both laughing]

[crash]

I'm okay. - Meow too.

- Whoa. Oh.

The dogs are having a snack so I can--whoa!

- Hiya, Calvin. What's shaking?

[chuckles] Uh...besides your legs?

[both chuckle] - Hi, Noodles.

I'm trying to skate for the first time.

- Oh, skating for the first time?

- Shh! I don't want Stuff to know.

He's really excited to skate with me.

So I'm practicing by myself

so I don't look bad later.

- Oh, got it. [chuckles]

[playful music]

- Whoa.

- Looking good.

- [chuckles] Thanks.

But I have...no...

idea...what I'm doing...

Whoa!

- Sure you do, Calvin.

Just keep trying.

Go, Calvin, go.

- Uh... - Go, Calvin, go.

- Am I supposed to be this wobbly?

- You'll get better.

- Whoa...whoa.

Okay, I'm done.

- Hey, Calvin, we finished our snack.

Whoa, you must be really excited to go to the roller rink.

You've already got your skates on.

- Uh...yeah.

Super excited, Stuff.

- [chuckles]

- Actually, I have something to tell you.

- What is it? Wait, let me guess.

Is it that you're super duper luper scuper excited

to skate with me?

- Uh...yep, that's it.

- I knew it.

[both chuckle]

- And...it's time to go.

- Whoo-hoo! I'll go tell everybody.

- It's okay, Calvin. You'll figure it out.

And, hey, if you feel like you're gonna fall,

just grab onto something.

Like...oh, that rope.

- Hmm? Oh, yeah, you're right.

- Yeah. - I can just grab onto something

like this rope. - Yeah.

Ooh!



- Ah! - [laughs]

[laughing]

- Noodles, you got me.

[both laugh]

Your joke made me feel better.

- Oh, good. - Even though I can't skate,

I can still watch my friends have fun.

- Mm-hmm. - [chuckles]

To the Mutt & Stuff bus!

- Whoo-hoo!

- [grunts] Whoa.

Right after I take these skates off.

[both chuckle]

Paws up! Tails out!

To the Mutt & Stuff bus!

- Come on, everybody.

It's time to go to the roller rink.

[dogs barking] Whoo, come on, come on,

come on, come on. Let's go, let's go, let's go.

Whoo-hoo!

[laughs]

- Hey, hey, I'm coming too!

[sighs] Must break free.

[grunting]

[triumphant music]

Now, that's how I roll.

Ha-ha!

Here I come!

[grunting]

[exciting music]



- ♪ The dogs on the bus go

[dogs barking rhythmically]

♪ The dogs on the bus go

[dogs barking rhythmically]

♪ All through the town

[horn honks]

♪ ♪

[dance music playing]



[dogs barking]

- Welcome to the Doggy Dynamo Roller Rink.

- All right, we made it!

[laughs]

- Whoa, it's even better than I imagined,

and I imagined lots of really great things.



- Come on, skaters.

It's time for silly skate.

- [gasps] And there's a deejay!

I love it here.

- Hey, if you guys are gonna roller-skate,

you should look like roller skaters.

It's dress-up time.

- Yeah! [both chuckle]

- If you want to add a little style, that's cool too.

[playful music]



- [giggles]

I'm ready to roll!

- All right.

- It's time for speed skate.

Speed on out to the rink.

- Ooh, hey, Calvin, you ready to skate?

- Oh, yeah, I just got to put my funky outfit on.

- Okey dokey, see you out there.

Can't wait for the double-buddy skate.

Whoo! - [chuckles nervously]

Okay. - [laughs]

- I still haven't learned how to skate.

I don't want to embarrass myself out there and let Stuff down.

[sighs]

- [giggling]

Look at me.



[gasps] Look out!

Coming through.

I'm unstoppable, like a train.



On your right, me.

I mean, Little Stuff.

I mean, Junior Shades.

[laughing]

Skate on, Your Cuddly Cuddleness.

Oh, no one's as zippy as you, Zippy.

Oh, and here's Calvin. [chuckles]

Hey, Calvin, why aren't your skates on?

You have to roller-skate with us.

It's so much fun!

- Uh, I will, Stuff,

just as soon as I... test these wheels...

and make sure these brakes are gonna stop me.

- And now, time to do the dancing doggy roller game.

- Ooh, the dancy doggy. I love the dancy doggy!

Hurry, put your skates on, Calvin.

It's starting.

- Um...

something doesn't look right with these laces.

You better lead the dance for me, Stuff.

- Really, I can do that?

- Yeah. - Yippee!

[laughs]



- Stuff was this close to finding out that I can't skate.



- Okay, everybody, we're gonna do

my favorite dance on roller skates.

Ready? It's called the dancing doggy.

[chuckles] Here we go.

Whoo!

- [barks] - ♪ Shake your tail

♪ To the left

♪ Shake your tail to the right

♪ Turn around

♪ And shake it all night

Whoo!

♪ Dance dance

♪ Do the dancy doggy

One more time!

♪ Dance dance

♪ Do the dancy doggy

- [barking]

- ♪ Shake your paw to the left

♪ Uh-huh shake your tail to the right ♪

[giggles]

♪ Turn around

♪ And shake it all night

[giggles]

And we're done!

Whoo! That was great.

- Okay, skaters, it's time for doggy buddy skate.

Find a friend and skate paw-to-paw.

[dance music playing]

- Ooh. Uh, hey, Calvin.

It's time for the doggy buddy skate.

Calvin, where are you?

- Oh, no, Stuff wants me to skate with him,

but I still don't know how.

Ah.



- Ooh. Uh.

Excuse me, sir.

Have you seen my friend, Calvin?

- Who's Shmalvin?

- No, Calvin.

He's about this tall and this wide.

And he looks like you, except no hat or cool sunglasses.

Listen, if you see him,

could you tell him that it's time for

the doggy buddy skate

and Stuff is looking for him?

- Oh, you got it, Stuff.

- [chuckles] Thanks, buddy.



- I don't know how much longer I can stall.

I think it's time to tell Stuff I can't skate.

[playful music]

- Hey, Davenport. Davenport!

- Aah! Oh, hey there, Zoe.

- What do you call a potato on roller skates?

- You call it a...

baked poskater.

♪ ♪

[both laughing]

[crash]

I'm okay. - Meow too.

- [chuckles] Whoa.

Whoo.

[chuckles] Where is Calvin?

Uh...ooh!

Ha-ha!

[sighs] Hey, Calvin, there you are.

We gotta go do the doggy buddy skate

'cause the song's almost over.

- Stuff? - Huh?

- Can we have a nose-to-nose?

- Sure.

- Well, it's hard for me to say this,

but the reason I haven't skated with you is because...

I don't know how.

- What?

Oh, I thought you could do anything, Calvin.

- Well, even teachers need to learn new things.

I guess I was just too embarrassed to tell you.

- Calvin, you're part of our pack,

and we always stick together.

Know what? If you don't know how to skate,

then we'll help you.

- Really? You guys would do that for me?

- Sure we would.

- Oh, you guys are the best pack

a teacher could ever have.

- Aww.

Well, there's just one problem, though.

I know how to skate,

but I don't know how to teach you how to skate.

- Did someone say they need help skating?

- Hey, Dr. Kristina.

You know how to teach skating?

- Well, I'm not just a vet.

I'm also a...

[exciting music]

Roller skating teacher!

Now follow me.

- Ooh, yeah!



[chuckles]

Come on, Calvin.

Come on. There you go.

- Whoa! Whoa. - Whoops!

[chuckles] There.

- Okay, Calvin, the first thing you need to do

is stand like a duck.

- Stand like a duck.

- Yeah. - I can do that.

- And keep holding onto my helping paw if you need to.

- I'm standing like a duck. - Yeah.

- Now you need to point your toes out and walk like a duck.

- Now I'm walking like a duck.

- You can make each of those steps longer and longer

until you start to glide, like a duck on water.

Swim like a duck.

Quack quack.

- Stand like a duck.

- Yeah. - Walk like a duck.

- Uh-huh. - Swim like a duck.

- [chuckles]

- Hey, I'm getting the hang of it.

I am a duck.

- And now, for some really big fun,

it's free skate.

Do what you want to do.

- Oh, boy, free skate!

- We can do anything we want.

[dance music playing]



- Backwards skate.

Whoo.



- I made it to the Doggy Dynamo Roller Rink!

Whoo! Wag on.

Oh, yeah! [laughs]



- Looking good, Melvin.

- ♪ Do do do do-do do-do

Oh, yeah! I'm feeling it.



- Whoo-hoo! Roller mouse coming through.

[laughs]

- I've never felt so free!

Whoo!

- Hey, Dr. Kristina,

show us what you can do.

- I thought you'd never ask.



- What a great day.

Let's celebrate with

a roller-skating doggy dance party.

- Whoo! - Come on.

Take off your skates and wag it like you mean it.

[playful music]

- ♪ Hey, Calvin, what are we learning today? ♪

- Today, Stuff and the dogs really wanted to go to

- Stuff really wanted to buddy skate with me,

but I was embarrassed because

I didn't know how to roller skate.

- Calvin, you're part of our pack,

and we always stick together.

- Then I realized that, when you're part of the pack,

you can tell your friends anything.

Then, Dr. Kristina taught me how to skate,

and we had a roller doggy dance party.
