CHILDREN: Max and Ruby!

[Squawking]

[Giggling]

Let's make a sandcastle.

Super!

We'll make a super-duper sandcastle!

Yeah!

Yay!

Huh?

We need a shovel.

And a pail.

[Sighing]

What a great day to be at the beach, Grandma.

Uh-huh.

[Laughing]

[Gasping]

Huh?

Hey, Ruby. Hey, Valerie.

Max and Lily left their beach ball behind.

[Both sighing]

BOTH: Hi, Roger.

[Laughing]

A really great day.

[Laughing]

[Both laughing]

LILY: Come on, Max.

Oops.

Oh!

[Giggling]

Sorry.

Bye-bye, Crabby.

I feel like a little walk.

Me, too!

Nice tower, Max.

We can make another tower for you.

And one for Valerie.

Oh, yes, please.

Sure.

Thanks.

It's gonna be a super...

Duper...

[Together] Sandcastle!

Oh.

Where did he go?

Look over there.

Roger?

No, a bottle.

There's a rolled-up piece of paper in it.

I wonder what it is.

Hmm, some sort of message?

There's a canoe...

a log...

a beach umbrella...

and a sandcastle.

What does it mean?

Hmm... maybe they're clues.

And maybe they lead to a secret treasure.

[Gasping]

Like a mystery!

Let's solve it.

[Gasping]

RUBY: I think we found the first clue!

But now what?

Well, maybe there's something written or drawn

on the canoe that will lead us to another clue.

I just see a dirty canoe.

Maybe it's under the canoe.

Hi!

RUBY: Oh!

Oh, no!

Catch that paper!

[Valerie grunting]

[Valerie grunting]

Oh!

Gotcha.

Phew.

Thank goodness.

What were you doing under there?

You gave me a fright.

I was looking for these.

Oh.

They're very pretty.

But we almost lost our special message.

We have to hold on tight to it from now on.

LILY: Max!

Coming!

Well, the canoe didn't have a secret clue.

VALERIE: Maybe the log does.

Log, here we come.

Is that my tower, Max?

Yep.

I love it.

Great work.

[Gasping]

Look what I see!

Roger?

No, over there!

It's the log!

Way to go, Ruby!

Anything?

Just a couple of ants.

Maybe inside?

This time, you're not flying away.

[Sighing]

I guess there aren't any clues in here either.

Oh!

[Grunting]

RUBY: Oh, no!

Hey!

Get that crab!

[Screaming]

RUBY: Come on, Valerie!

Faster, faster!

Oops.

Oh, oh, oh!

Oh, oh, ah, oh, ooh, eee!

Oops.

Ooh, ah...

[Laughing]

Excuse me.

Have you seen a crab?

Thank you!

Oh, excuse us.

It's getting away!

Max to the rescue!

Whoa, whoa!

Gotcha!

Thanks, Max.

I hope our message is okay.

Aha!

Oh, good.

It isn't ruined.

Wanna live in our new super...

Duper...

...sandcastle?

Hey.

It can be a crab castle!

Yeah, okay!

Let's get this crab home.

It's a good thing Grandma brought that beach umbrella.

It's really sunny today.

[Gasping]

Umbrella!

It's one of the clues!

VALERIE: You're right!

Let's go!

Welcome home, Sir Crabby.

Anything on your side?

Nope.

You?

[Sighing]

No.

We're finding the clues, but no answer to the mystery.

[Both yelping]

[Laughing]

Sorry!

I couldn't help but overhear you.

What do you think the clues are telling you?

We don't know, Grandma.

Well, where did you find your clues?

Here, at the beach.

Yes, all the clues so far were at the beach.

But what does that mean?

Well, maybe the message means "at the beach."

The answer is often right in front of you.

MAX:Ruby!

Valerie!

Come and see our super...

Duper...

[Together] Sandcastle!

Ta-dah!

Sandcastle.

It's the last clue.

Maybe it will help us solve the mystery.

Do you like your tower, Ruby?

I love it.

We made one for Grandma, too.

This is yours, Valerie.

Oh, wow!

Thank you.

[Gasping]

Ruby, look at their moat!

I love all the little rocks.

Time to fill up the moat.

I like all of the sticks.

Me, too!

I'll show you my favorite.

Oh, no!

Our super-duper sandcastle!

[Gasping]

And our special message.

[Blowing]

Maybe the crab shouldn't live here.

[Laughing]

Oh, it's soaked!

[Gasping]

Valerie, look!

Roger?

No...

It looks like the lifeguard tower.

Yeah, but it wasn't there before.

It was written in ink that showed up

only when the paper was wet.

[Gasping]

The final clue!

Let's take this lifeguard tower picture to Roger.

Yes!

Good idea, Ruby.

RUBY: Roger?

Hey.

Do you know what these clues mean?

Sure!

Means you found the message we hid.

The lifeguard team wanted to add a new beach activity,

and this seemed like fun.

Well, it was fun finding a mysterious message

and looking for clues.

But we thought it would lead to some sort of treasure.

Oh, but it did.

Ice cream!

Think of it as a reward

for solving the mystery,

compliments of the lifeguard team.

[Both cheering]

Ice cream is much better

than some old treasure.

And to think, we'd have never found the last clue

if it weren't for Max and Lily and their super...

Duper...

ALL: Sandcastle!

[Laughing]

Huh?

[Laughing]

[Quacking]

[Both imitating sirens]

[Blowing whistle]

I'm Officer Max.

And I'm Officer Lily.

We have to give you a ticket.

Mmm, yes, mm-hmm.

Yes, I see, Mr. Tree, but...

your branch is in the playground.

Instead of in our yard.

Hello, Officer Max, Officer Lily.

Hi, Mom!

Hello.

I think Mr. Tree just wants to spend some time in the park.

The playground is for everyone, after all.

You're lucky, Mr. Tree.

Sorry we bothered you.

But we'll all keep an eye on Mr. Tree,

just to make sure

he doesn't get up to any other kind of mischief.

[Laughing]

GRANDMA: Before you go to the store, Ruby,

come and look at this picture of Grandpa.

Wow, he looks so young.

He was young.

And rather handsome,

if I do say so.

Hi, Grandma!

Oof!

Whoa.

[Giggles]

Hi!

Hello, Max.

Hi, Lily.

Still playing Officers, I see.

Yep!

We've got work to do, Officer Lily.

What's this?

A ticket.

For what?

For sitting indoors.

When the sun is shining!

[Laughing]

Actually, I'll be outdoors very soon.

I have to go the store for supplies for my school project.

Okay.

No ticket this time.

[Grandma giggling]

Who's that a picture of?

Is that Grandpa?

I want to be a real police officer, too.

Well, I brought just the right thing.

Grandpa's old police cap.

Whoa.

Go ahead, try it on.

Oh, it's a little bit big on you,

but you look just as handsome as your grandfather.

Thanks, Grandma.

Oh, you better get going now, Ruby.

The stores will be closing soon.

Okay.

Max, Lily, do you want to come with me?

Can I bring my police car?

Sure, as long as you ride on the sidewalk.

And I'll bring my skateboard.

That's my police car.

Well, now, two little officers

going into town with Ruby.

What fun!

RUBY: I really hope we get to Rosalinda's shop in time.

I need to start my project tonight.

That sounds like an emergency.

It is a very important project.

Sound all sirens, Officer Max.

We need to get there fast.

[Honking]

[Lily and Max imitating sirens]

Look!

A mama duck and her ducklings!

[Quacking]

[Imitating sirens]

[Honking]

Oh, no!

Duckies, where are you going?

You're going the wrong way.

There's your mama!

That way!

[Horn honking]

[Cheeping]

Max, Lily, wait!

Hi, duckies!

[Cheeping]

[Laughing]

Whatcha doing, little ducks?

They're following your car horn, Max.

It sounds a bit like a duck.

We can't have ducklings

following us into town.

We need to get them back to their mother.

Come on, duckies.

Follow us!

[Honking]

[Honking]

[Honking]

[Cheeping]

[Quacking]

[Horn honking]

[Quacking]

There you go, duckies.

There's your mama.

You're back safe and sound.

[Cheeping]

[Quacking]

Yay!

Whoo-hoo!

[Sighing]

Great.

Now we need to get to the store before it closes.

We'll have to hurry!

Look, it's Morris!

RUBY: And Louise.

Hi, Louise!

Hi, everyone.

Hi, Louise.

Hi, Morris.

Hi!

Hey, everyone.

What are you doing, Max?

We're police officers.

On duty.

We're trying to get

to Rosalinda's store before it closes.

Oh, we were just there.

I think she's closing soon.

Oh, no, really?

You'd better hurry.

See you tomorrow at school.

Bye!

Just one minute, sir!

What's this?

A ticket.

Ticket for what?

For littering!

Oops.

That's okay.

Try not to do it again.

Okay, Officers.

I won't.

[Laughing]

[Sighing]

Come on, you two.

We have to go before the store closes.

Have a nice day!

Oh!

Oh, dear.

Runaway watermelon!

[Max and Lily imitating sirens]

[Sighing]

Not again.

You can't get away from us!

Max, Lily, be careful!

They're playing Police Officers.

Oops.

Hey!

Come back!

Gotcha!

Whoa!

Oof!

I'll help, too.

Why, thank you, officers.

It's a good thing you were here.

You're welcome, ma'am.

Happy to help.

We have to be going now.

Come on, officers.

The store will be closing soon!

[Humming]

[Humming]

MAX Nothing to see here.

Move along.

[Blowing whistle]

RUBY: Oh, Max!

Lily!

Hello, kids.

Hi.

Hi, Mr. Huffington.

Hello.

We're police officers.

Really?

You know, I've always wanted

to sound the siren on a police car.

Try it, Mr. Huffington.

Max, we don't really have time for--

[Horn honking]

[Laughing]

Oh, that is fun, isn't it?

[Honking]

[Laughing]

[Sighing]

Hi, Roger.

Bye, Roger.

A ticket?

What for?

Standing too long in one place.

You're right.

We've got to get to the store.

Come on!

[Gasping]

Oh, no!

What's the matter?

Aren't we going to the store?

Look, we're too late.

Rosalinda is closing her shop.

ROSALINDA: Oh, dear.

What on Earth have I done with it?

RUBY Hi, Rosalinda.

Hi, Ruby, Max, Lily.

Sorry to bother you, but is it possible

to get some school supplies before you close?

I have an important school project and -

[Mumbling] No, no, can't find it anywhere.

RUBY: Is everything all right?

Well, yes.

I mean, no.

I mean, I'm not sure.

I think I've lost my key.

Did somebody take it?

Oh, no, Lily.

I'm sure it's around somewhere.

I probably dropped it and didn't realize.

This sounds like an...

BOTH: Emergency!

Max, Lily, this is serious.

Rosalinda really needs to find her key.

And we're going to help her!

We're police officers.

Well, then, I'm lucky you're here.

What does your key look like, Rosalinda?

Is it small and shiny with a blue handle?

Yes.

How did you know?

Because it's right there!

See?

You're right!

How wonderful.

You found it.

Way to go, Max!

It's a good thing you just happened to be wandering by.

Oh, we weren't wandering by.

We were coming here to get supplies for a school project,

but I see I'm too late.

Not at all!

One good turn deserves another.

Isn't that right, Officer Max, Officer Lily?

BOTH: Yes, ma'am.

I'll keep my shop open a little longer

so you can get what you need.

Thank you, Rosalinda!

And thanks, Max and Lily.

You mean Officers Max and Lily.
