[announcer] Now, it's time for Zee's garden.

[both] We've got little green fingers.

Do you know how worms work?

Let's find out.

[girl] Worms make the ground good

so plants can grow in it.

We're going to build a wormery.

So we can see them.

[girl] Take an old plastic bottle,

ask a grown-up to help you cut the top off.

Put some sand in...

Put the soil on.

[girl] ...then some soil.

A little bit of water. Well done.

[girl] Then, we add some vegetable peelings and leaves.

[woman] And now, more sand.

Then your soil. Okay.

[girl] Keep building up the layers

till the bottle is nearly full.

And these leaves in it. Soil.

[girl] Almost there now.

Okay.

Now, we have to go and find worms.

Come on, let's go.

Oh, look. Here's on, Laura, look.

Wow!

[mumbling] It's another one.

A baby one, look.

Here's one. Got lots of worms.

We found all these worms.

This is my worm.

Let's put them in.

This is how worms move.

Can you see their tunnels?

[girl] Worms like to be in a cool, dark place.

[both gasp]

Keep them for three or four weeks,

and then put them back in the garden.

Where's the big one?

[both] Why don't you make a wormery?
