NARRATOR: Although Ash struggled during his challenge against

Ramos and his Grass-type Pokémon at the Coumarine City Gym,

our hero managed to successfully put his unique

battling style to the test and pull off a victory, winning his

fourth Kalos Gym badge!

NURSE JOY: Serena from Vaniville Town, all set.

I'm happy to say your entry into the Pokémon Showcase Rookie

SERENA: Thanks!

SERENA: Now, Pancham? Fennekin? Ready?

FENNEKIN!

ASH: It's your first performance!

BONNIE: I know you're gonna be great!

SERENA: Thanks a lot!

BONNIE: Sure!

CLEMONT: I know it doesn't get under way just yet,

but are you ready to go?

SERENA: Yeah, but a little bit more practice couldn't hurt.

I have to work just as hard as Ash to be successful!

ASH: You're gonna do just fine.

PIKACHU!

ASH: Give it all you've got and you'll have nothing to regret.

SERENA: Right!

CLEMONT: I wonder if something's going on tonight

RAMOS: They're getting ready for the festival.

ASH: Hey, Ramos!

SERENA: Wow. A festival?

RAMOS: The Coumarine City Festival happens each

and every year. There's a story.

Long, long ago, there was a Trainer and his Pokémon.

RAMOS: They went on a journey together and experienced

countless adventures.

So, at the end of their journey, they settled down in this land

and lived here happily ever after.

RAMOS: In honor of their lasting friendship, the Trainer

gave his Pokémon a little tree, as a lovely reminder of

everything they had been through together.

RAMOS: Before long, that little tree grew and grew,

becoming the largest tree in Coumarine City. And that tree

is known as the Pledging Tree.

SERENA: Wow! That sounds wonderful!

CLEMONT: So does that mean that tree's alive today?

RAMOS: Yes. That's it over there.

RAMOS: Since then, it is said if a Trainer gives their Pokémon

a gift while standing under that tree, the bond between them will

grow even stronger. It's become a tradition.

SERENA: Wow. That is just so sweet!

BONNIE: Ramos, what time does the festival begin?

RAMOS: It begins at sundown.

RAMOS: A Trainer first places their Pokémon's present

underneath the Pledging Tree. And then the Trainer offers

the gift soon after the sun goes down.

CLEMONT: So that's why they're all heading toward the tree

with all that stuff.

ASH: Sounds like a lot of fun! Why don't we do it, too?

PIKACHU!

CLEMONT: That's great! It sounds like a lot of fun!

SERENA: I wonder what I should give?!

BONNIE: I wanna give a present, too!

RAMOS: Good! I'm on my way to go and decorate the tree now.

ASH: Great! I'm so glad you told us. Guys, now that we know,

we'd better go buy those presents!

SERENA: Hey There's a street known for its shopping right

near the port. Why don't we go there?

SERENA: I'm sure that we'll find whatever we need!

ASH: Good idea. Whaddaya say?

CLEMONT: I'm going to do something a little different.

I'm off to the Pokémon Center.

PIKACHU?

ASH: I know what you're up to

CLEMONT: I'll bet you do.

I'm going to assemble my present by hand.

ASH: Sounds cool. I'm sure your Pokémon will like that best.

CLEMONT: You're right!

BONNIE: Just make sure you don't blow anything up

CLEMONT: Come on!

Bonnie, my inventions don't always blow up, you know!

ASH: Wait for me here, okay, Pikachu?

PIKACHU?

ASH: I know they all love surprises. Presents are more

fun when you don't know what you're getting, right?

SERENA: You're right! Good idea.

SERENA: Will you stay here and wait for me, too? I'm going to

find you something really nice.

FENNEKIN!

PANCHAM

BONNIE: So can I take care of them while you're gone?!

ASH: Yeah, that'd be great, Bonnie.

BONNIE: Yay! Leave it to me!

ASH: Come on out, everybody!

ASH: You just relax and wait while we get your presents.

ASH: Okay Bonnie, it's up to you.

Have fun taking care of them.

BONNIE: 'Kay!

CLEMONT: And since I'll be making my presents,

I can help Bonnie watch them, too.

We're all gonna have a great time!

CLEMONT: You all come out as well!

BONNIE : 'Kay, readow follow me!

ASH: Ready to go?

SERENA: Wow. Ash and I are all alone. It's it's almost like...

SERENA: We're out on a date!

ASH: What are you gonna get, Serena?

SERENA: I'm not really sure yet.

JESSIE: Isn't that sweet.

They're getting presents for their Pokémon.

JAMES: Yes. And knowing those Twerps, I'm certain they'll find

something that will make their Pokémon jump for joy!

MEOWTH: So if we swipe those Pokémon and their presents,

guess what then?

JAMES: Our name will soon be in lights!

JESSIE: While the Boss walks us down easy street!

ASH: Whoa

SERENA: Whoa It's beautiful!

ASH: Awesome!

SERENA: This is the heart of the shopping district.

ASH: Then I think we should go check out every store.

SERENA: Sounds good.

SERENA: Look at how cute this is!

SERENA: It might be the tiniest bit too big

ASH: Now that you mention it, you're right.

ASH: So what am I gonna get them? Maybe something that would

come in handy in a battle

SHOP KEEPER MAN: Say, are you looking for a Pokémon gift?

How about one of these Macho Braces? Or a Rocky Helmet!

ASH: Wait! Will you hold on for a sec?!

SHOP KEEPER MAN: A Substitute plush?

SHOP KEEPER MAN: Or how about a Sprinklotad?!

SHOP KEEPER MAN: Whoopsie.

Whoa, I'm stumped. What do I get?

ASH: Man oh man

ASH: Wow. Who knew this would be so hard?

SERENA: Thank you for your help!

SERENA: There. Mission accomplished!

Now I hope they like them.

SERENA: Sorry to keep you waiting!

ASH: So did you get them something good?

SERENA: I did! And I think I'm gonna decorate them myself.

ASH: But we've still got time.

STATION STAFF SMALL NOSE: To commemorate this occasion,

ASH: Hey, thanks a lot. Really!

ASH: I never expected I'd be the one to get a gift.

SERENA: What did they give you? Please, show me. Ash, come on!

SERENA: Wow! That's such a pretty ribbon!

ASH: Yeah.

ASH: But, I still have to get a present for my Pokémon

SERENA: I forgot all about that.

SERENA: Pikachu and the others will love anything you choose.

All they care about is that the gift comes from you.

ASH: Ya think?

SERENA: Sure! What would make you happy if you got a gift?

ASH: Make me happy? Does it matter?

SERENA: Yeah. Because they're your Pokémon.

And they think just like you do.

ASH: Uh, think like I do What would make me happy?

ASH: That's it, Serena! That's it!

ASH: Thanks a lot. Later!

SERENA: Ash?!

ASH: I've got somewhere to go!

I'll meet you back at the Pokémon Center!

SERENA: Somewhere? Where where?!

ASH: All right, let's do this!

SERENA: Hi! I'm back!

CLEMONT: But I thought Ash went with you.

SERENA: He's still looking for a present.

But--I think he got a great idea.

SERENA: Hi, everyone! Bonnie, thanks for looking after them.

BONNIE: Sure thing. It was a lot of fun. Except

CLEMONT: Bonnie? What's the matter?

BONNIE: It's just I wanna give everyone a present, too!

But, do I have to be a Trainer?

SERENA: Bonnie Of course you don't!

I'm sure everyone would love it.

FENNEKIN!

BONNIE: You mean it?!

BONNIE: 'Kay, th 'll make a drawing of all of you.

That'll be my present.

BONNIE: Now line up! Okay

SERENA: I know it'll make a wonderful present!

SERENA: Okay, time to get to work

CLEMONT: Right! I had better get busy, too.

ASH: Maybe I should find just a little bit more.

ASH: A Dunsparce?! Never thought I'd find one here!

I think I'll catch you!

ASH: I don't have any Poké Balls!

CLEMONT: It looks like the decorations for the festival

are all ready to go!

SERENA: Ash. Finally! Where have you been?

ASH: It took a little longer than I thought.

CLEMONT: So, Ash Did you find a present?

ASH: Yup! Hi.

ASH: Ramos.

RAMOS

RAMOS: Good. You're all here.

ASH: Right!

RAMOS: You can put your presents over there.

BONNIE: What happens next?

CLEMONT: I imagine we'll find out soon enough.

RAMOS: Let's begin.

RAMOS: What's the meaning of this!?

JESSIE: Prepare for trouble, the meaning's quite clear!

JAMES: We steal your presents and fill you with fear!

JESSIE: To denounce the evils of Twerps hoarding gifts!

JAMES: To extend and teach the virtues of thrift!

JESSIE: Jessie!

JESSIE: Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!

JAMES: Surrender now or prepare for a festival fight!

we'll have caught a cornucopia caché!

JAMES: We're blasting off prematurely!

CLEMONT: What a relief. The presents are safe and sound.

And that includes your drawing, too.

BONNIE: Yay! My drawing's all right!

ASH: Here you go.

SERENA: What a relief! It didn't break.

ASH: Is this one yours?

BOY GREEN PANTS: Yeah.

CLEMONT: Whose is this?

BONNIE: Here you go.

GIRL: Thank you.

RAMOS: Well then, back to where we started

To strengthen the bond between Trainer and Pokémon,

let us begin our beloved annual festival as we all

gather together here beneath the Pledging Tree.

And now, it's time for the countdown!

CROWD: Five, four, and three, and two, and one!

SERENA: Wow Beautiful!

ASH: Totally awesome!

PIKACHU

BONNIE: So sparkly!

CLEMONT: It's like a tower of light!

BONNIE: What do you think? It looks just like you guys, right?

PIKACHU!

DEDENNE!

SERENA: Ta-da!

FENNEKIN: The ribbon's for Fennekin, and the sunglasses

are for Pancham. I did the decorations myself!

PANCHAM

FENNEKIN?

PANCHAM?

CLEMONT: Here, this ribbon is actually a wind-up key.

If you put it in here and turn it like so

CLEMONT: It's a Clemontic Gear mini-music box!

CLEMONT: And I made little versions of you!

ASH: There we go. I handpicked these berries.

ASH: I got a ton. So you guys can eat as much as you want to!

SERENA: You'll be amazing in the Pokémon Showcase! Hold on.

FENNEKIN?

ASH: Do you think someone forgot to give it?

CLEMONT: The card says "To Serena."

CLEMONT: Well, what do you know? This present's for you!

BONNIE: Open it. Open it!

SERENA: Sure.

BONNIE: A dress! It's so pretty!

SERENA: Aw But how?

FENNEKIN PANCHAM!

NURSE JOY: I'm glad you finally got that package.

It was delivered to the Pokémon Center for you.

ASH: Pokémon Center?

NURSE JOY: Right. It arrived there along with instructions to

give it to you in a way that would be a big surprise.

GRACE: Do you like it?

SERENA: Oh, Mom

GRACE: I figured if you were going to enter the Pokémon

Showcase, you'd want a brand-new outfit. I was right!

SERENA: You were

GRACE: You never like any of the outfits I pick out for you, so I

tried something different. I chose the dress I didn't like.

SERENA: Oh, that's so sweet!

GRACE: I know you'll be amazing. Good luck.

SERENA: Thanks.

BONNIE: Fireworks!

PIKACHU!

ASH: Serena?

SERENA: What, Ash?

ASH: Here, take this. I wanted you to have something from me.

SERENA: But what for?

ASH: I never would've been able to choose a present for them

without your help.

ASH: So, this's just my way of saying thanks a lot.

SERENA: Thank you, Ash! I'll always treasure it!

NARRATOR: With a little assistance from our heroes,

the festival celebrating the bond between Trainer

and Pokémon is safe, secure, and underway.
