[Peter] "The Tale of The Tricky Tortoise."

[laughter]

…So I leapt on to a cabbage

but Mr. McGregor’s cat
was still coming straight for me!

[gasps]

Yay! Cat!

No Cotton-Tail. Not "yay."

Go on, Mr. Fisher.

Well, I thought he had me.

Then guess who slides in on his shell,

knocking the cat into a raspberry bush!

Mr. Tolly Tortoise!

[Peter] Whoo-hoo! Yeah!

Well, what can I say?

I always was a good bowler.

Especially when I was the ball.

-[laughs]
-[croaks]

Your dad used to say Mr. Tolly
was full of surprises.

Quite the adventurer.

[whispers] I can’t imagine
Mr. Tolly going on any adventures.

He’s too old.

[both giggling]

Too old am I, Peter Rabbit?

[nervously] Erm… Well… Uh…

This has been lovely, Mr. Fisher,

but I think it’s time we head home.

I should be on my way too.

I wonder if Peter might want
to walk me home?

Me, Mr. Tolly?

It’d remind me of the old days

when your father and I
used to go out for a stroll.

But I was going to go
and play with Benjamin and Lily.

I think it’s an excellent idea, Mr. Tolly.

Wonderful. [chuckles]

[sighs] But, Mom…

You can play with your friends later.

Besides this is something
your dad used to do.

I thought you’d want to do it.

I guess if dad did it…

Just remember, Mr. Tolly isn’t
a young tortoise any more.

Take him straight home.

No detours or stopping off for adventures.

I’ll look after him, Mom.

That’s a nose twitch, ear scratch,
rabbit paw promise!

You’ll have to catch up with him first.

Huh?

[Flopsy and Mopsy giggle]

[Mr. Tolly] Come on Peter, keep up!

Whoa.

Oh! There you are. Thought I’d lost you.

[both laugh]

[grunting] So, what do you say, Peter?

Blackberry hunt near Mr. Tod’s lair?

[breathes deeply] Hazelnut collecting
on Owl Island?

Oh, I know!
A raid on Mr. McGregor’s garden!

[chuckles] This’ll be fun…

Just like the old days.

Sorry, Mr. Tolly,

I think you have to be young and fast
for that sort of thing.

Mmm. [chuckles]

We should head straight for your home.

You never know what’s out here.

There could be foxes, badgers,

-even owls.
-Yippee!

-[Mr. Tolly chuckling] Oh!
-Huh…

Mr. Tolly?

Mr. Tolly?

Whoa! Oh! Oh!

[shudders]

[chuckles]

Imagine wanting Peter to walk you home.

Maybe Peter will surprise us
and stay out of trouble.

Did Mr. Tolly come back through here?

And maybe he won’t!

-Peter, do not tell me you’ve lost him!
-[gasps]

No! I didn’t exactly lose him.

He just kind of… ran off.

[Peter] Uh… I’ll find him.

[both] Mom! Peter lost Mr. Tolly!

[grunts]

Mr. Tolly?

Mr. Tolly?

-[Benjamin and Lily] Peter!
-Ahh!

Oh, it’s you.

You haven’t seen Mr. Tolly, have you?

I’ve kind of lost him.

You lost an old tortoise?

[Lilly giggling]

Aren’t tortoises really… slow?

-[Peter sighs]
-[giggles]

we'll help you find him!

me to move fast once.

But that just leads up the hill.

Your home is the other way Mr. Tolly.

Mr. Tolly!

[Benjamin] We have to go back.

Yoo-hoo! You can run rabbits
but you can’t hide.

[Lily] It’s Mr. Tod!

Mr. Tolly, we have to get out of here!

Yes, yes.

Now your father marked

a special escape route around here
just for me.

I had him mark it with a paw print
so we could always find it.

The paw prints were your idea?

Wow!

Sure, he put them on all his routes
and tunnels after that.

And I'll tell you another thing…

[Benjamin] Hey, there’s a tunnel! Look!

Hmm, not bad, bit rabbit-y.

Let’s see…

There’s a better escape route
for me up here somewhere.
