Hey, wait for me!

Ava: What a game.

This Orbo match is really coming down to the wire.

Just . seconds left.

Robyn tries for the catch, but Raven intercepts it.

Raven goes for the goal.

But Hawk blocks it just in time.

Hawk passes to Eagle and...

Spin, sling, sassy!

He sh**t and he scores.

Eagle's team wins.

Ha-ha! Did you guys see that?

I was like yah!

And then I was like whoa! And then I was like...

[laughing] Way to go, Eagle.

Yeah! Good one, buddy!

Nice work, team.

You just qualified for the championship game.

Yeah! All right!

Ava: Congratulations, racers.

Robyn, great backfield defense.

Thanks, Ava.

Ava: Eagle, impressive speed in the third quarter.

You know it.

Ava: And, Hawk, what a great block.

Before that, your team only had a .% chance of victory.

I haven't seen a block like that

since the st Orbo Galactic Quarterfinals.

[laughing]

Wow, Ava, you sure know a lot about Orbo.

Ava: Of all the , most common recreational games

in the solar system,

Orbo is my favorite.

In fact, I, uh-- Never mind.

What is it, Ava?

Well, I have always dreamed of playing Orbo myself.

But of course, I am just a computer program.

Playing Orbo would require me to have an actual physical body.

[sighs]

Hey, are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?

Yeah, we should go get banana fuel splits to celebrate.

No, no!

Well, yes, we should get banana fuel splits.

But first, we should find a way

for Ava to play Orbo with us in the championship game.

Yeah!

But in order to play, she'll need an actual body.

And I think I know who can help us with that.

Hmm, a robot body for Ava?

[laughing]

Now, there's a crazy idea.

Too crazy?

Well, no idea's ever too crazy.

In fact, I think I might have just the thing.

Now, let's see here.

No, that's...

[laughs] Where did that...

Ah, here we are!

A body for Ava!

[gasps] A robot?

But how do we get Ava in there?

Easy.

This hard drive has all the information

for the Ava computer program.

Her memory, her personality, everything.

It's what makes Ava, well... Ava!

You mean it's like her brain?

Yup.

And if we take it out of the Stardust Bay network

and put it into the robot...

Then Ava will be inside the robot,

and she'll have a body!

And she'll be able to play Orbo with us.

Bingo!

Now stand back, everyone!

Just connect this here, plug that in there and...

Whoa... [chuckles] not sure how that got in there.

There!

Hawk, can you pull that switch?

[machinery powering up]

[laughing] It worked!

She's alive!

She's alive!

[laughing]

Coot...

what is going on?

I feel... different.

Ava, you won't believe it.

Coot built you a robot body.

A body?

You mean I have a body?

Sure do.

[laughs]

I have a body.

[laughing]

Whoopsie. Sorry.

I'm not used to having, uh, thrusters.

[chuckling]

Don't worry, Ava, you'll get the hang of it.

Come on, Ava, let's see what those thrusters can do.

Follow us.

Whoa... [chuckling]

Wait for me.

[birds screeching]

Wow. Ahh!

The gentle breeze.

The warm sun on my boosters and thrusters.

Like nothing I have ever felt before.

Well, get ready, Ava, 'cause you ain't felt nothing yet.

Prepare for takeoff.

Ooh, my first launch!

Booster rockets.

Engaged! Engaged!

Wings. Back!

Space visors?

Down! Down!

Ready?

Blast off!

[laughing]

Whoa! Hoo-hoo!

Oh, yeah! Whoa!

[chuckles]

All right!

Whoa.

Whoa, whoa...

Hawk: Yeah!

[Ava laughing]

Hoo-hoo! Whoo-hoo!

Yeah!

[sighs contentedly]

[laughing]

Whoo-hoo-hoo!

Whoo-hoo!

Well, Ava, what do you think of your first space flight?

It was extremely fascinating.

Brr!

The temperature in space feels much colder than I expected.

Alert, fast-moving objects approaching at degrees.

Time 'til impact, six, five, four, three...

Huh? Why is she just standing there?

Ava! Look out!

Whoo, that was close.

Did I do something wrong, Hawk?

Now that you've got a body, you got to be careful.

Hawk's right, Eva.

When something's coming at you,

you can't just sit there and think about it,

or you'll get blasted into space dust.

Understood.

It-- It seems that having a body

is more complicated than I previously imagined.

Don't worry, Ava.

I'm sure you'll get the hang of it by tomorrow.

What is scheduled for tomorrow?

Routine systems maintenance? A partial solar eclipse?

Fried fuel sticks in the cafeteria?

Nope, even better.

Tomorrow you'll be playing in the Orbo championship game!

Me? Play Orbo?

Greetings, racers.

Welcome to the Stardust Bay Orbo championships!

[cheering]

Trust me, Coach, Ava knows more about Orbo than anybody.

She'll be a great addition to the team.

Well, we're gonna need all the help we can get

to win this game,

so go get 'em, Ava.

Thank you, Coach Pigeon.

What is our strategy?

A classic synchronous split defense?

Or should we maintain a parallel offensive formation?

Ah, well, uh...

I guess I would say our strategy is, uh... to win.

- Yeah! - All right!

Let's do it!

Racers, take the field.

Good luck, Ava. You're gonna do great.

Thank you, Hawk.

Let the championship game begin.

[whistles blows, crowd cheering]

My first Orbo game.

I hope I manage to score a goal or at least contribute

to my team's overall defensive operation and--

Ava, catch!

Orb incoming at degrees

at a speed of meters per second.

Slight upward arc, slight solar wind coming in at--

What? [groaning and laughter]

Shake it off, Ava.

Just think less and keep your eyes on the orb.

Right-- think less, eyes on the orb.

Eagle, my position is open.

Eyes on the orb. Eyes on the orb.

Ha, I caught it!

I caught it. I--

Ava, watch where you're going!

Hey! Ohh! Aah!

All: Aww...

Ooh-hoo... Ohh.

You, uh, want to take those fuel snacks to go?

An interception.

Way to go, Ava.

Now go for the goal. Hurry!

Right. Accelerating to maximum velocity.

Ava, slow down!

You're gonna--

Ava: Whoa... Ohh...

Ohh...

Did I score a goal?

Well, uh, technically you did, but, uh...

eh, for the other team.

[whistle blows]

Halftime. Everybody take a break.

Guys, we've got a problem.

There's no way we're gonna win the championship

with her on our team.

Probably not, but what can we do?

I mean, she's trying so hard.

I know.

I want her to play as much as anyone,

but she just thinks too much.

Aw, come on, Eagle.

She's starting to get the hang of it.

Oops, I seem to have miscalculated.

Uh, okay, I'll talk to her.

Uh, hey, Ava, um, looking good out there.

Thank you, Hawk,

but I am afraid that I have been

unable to master this new robot body.

I-- I simply do not feel like myself.

Uh, but Ava...

I have processed the data,

and it is clear that our team

has a greater chance of winning if I do not play.

I have decided to sit out the second half of the game.

Really?

Uh, I mean, gosh, Ava.

However, I believe I can still contribute to our victory

in a different way.

Sure. What did you have in mind?

[whooping and cheering]

All right, team, we've got it all tied up.

Just one more point and we win the game!

But, Eagle, we only have a few more seconds left.

Don't worry, guys, we've still got our secret w*apon.

Okay, Ava, do your thing!

Ava: Eagle, throw the orb to Robyn in exactly four seconds.

Four, three, two, one.

Whoo!

Now, Robyn, accelerate

to two-thirds of your maximum velocity.

Now throw the orb at an -degree angle.

Hawk, continue on your current trajectory.

Now spin!

Spinning!

Goal!

Ha-ha! We won!

We won!

Congratulations, you did it.

[laughing]

No, Ava, you did it.

We never would have come up with that play without you.

It was simply the most optimal strategy.

Ava, you just won the Orbo championships.

What are you gonna do next?

Well, there is one thing I'd like to do.

Ava? Are you there?

Ah, I feel like my old self again.

I did not realize how much I missed being an incorporeal,

self-aware operating system.

It's good to have you back, Ava.

Now, we should discuss

our strategy for the next Orbo season.

I have been analyzing our defensive tactics,

and I think there are opportunities

for further optimization in the field

if we throw the ball...
