[eerie music]

NARRATOR: Collinwood in the year .

Barnabas Collins has escaped from parallel time,

only to find himself in even greater peril.

For the great mansion is ruined, deserted,

ruled by a ghost who has even managed,

without Barnabas's knowing it,

to turn Julia Hoffman against her friend.

And in the coffin room of the Old House,

dusk comes, and with it a new enemy.

[suspenseful music]

[Barnabas screaming]

I know all about you, Barnabas Collins!

[dramatic music]

[eerie music]

[suspenseful music]

How?

How?

That doesn't matter.

Julia!

You!

It's you!

You're the one!

You're the one I saw!

Stay away from me!

Stay away!

Stay away from me!

Don't, don't come any closer!

No!

[man gasping]

[soft music]

I betrayed him.

Have I done enough for you?

Have I done enough now?

[Julia crying]

Why, why do you keep watching me?

Go away.

You're determined that I be here and hear the sh*ts,

the silver b*ll*ts.

[door opening]

Barnabas!

[suspenseful music]

Julia, how long have you been here?

What's wrong?

I...

Julia?

Julia?

The Sheriff, he's dead.

I k*lled him.

He knew about me.

If it weren't for Carrie, I'd be dead myself now.

We must move quickly.

We must find out what we can and get back to our own time.

The police will be here.

They know about me!

I saw the silver b*ll*ts.

I inspected his g*n.

I don't know who told him.

Don't you?

You betrayed me.

[dramatic music]

You told the Sheriff.

I will again.

Believe me, Barnabas, I will betray you over and over.

Julia!

JULIA: You're not safe with me.

BARNABAS: Why?

Don't, don't tell me anything and don't,

don't ask me to go with you anywhere.

Now, Barnabas just go!

Go!

Who's done this to you?

Don't try to find out anything about me

or whatever has happened here.

Go, go to Angelique's room.

Lock the door.

I hope you can get back before...

Before what, Julia?

Barnabas, they will be back.

You're right.

And if you escape them, when dawn comes.

You will come to my coffin to k*ll me.

Oh Julia, who has saved me so often.

What has he done to you?

JULIA: Nobody's done anything to me.

Julia.

You have been with him?

No, no.

He has done this to you?

No.

He has made you do this!

Don't talk about him.

BARNABAS: Julia, why not?

Are you so terrified of him?

Barnabas, Barnabas I told you to go while you can.

And leave you to him?

JULIA: Leave me as it's the only chance you have.

But why?

Why is he so terrifying that you can't mention his name?

Say it, Julia!

No!

Say it!

No!

Then it will be my will against his.

Barnabas, Barnabas, let, let me go.

He's watching us, I know it.

Somewhere outside this house, he's watching.

He knows what's happening here.

Barnabas go.

Go.

Look at me, Julia.

Look at me!

You can hear me.

You will do as I say.

Now, Look at me!

JULIA: You can escape.

BARNABAS: Not without you.

[suspenseful music]

JULIA: You can't, can't take me with you.

Never without you.

You won't be able to take me.

Julia, I will.

You must believe me, I will.

I can't.

Julia.

Once we are back in our own time,

he cannot get to you.

Now, you must depend upon me, not him.

[Julia cries]

You must depend upon me.

How could I ever...

You must never blame yourself.

Oh but I do, I do.

- How can you forgive me? - Julia.

You have forgiven me so often for so many things.

Barnabas,

Barnabas, I'm afraid.

You, you don't know him.

He still has power over you, doesn't he?

I know he's only waiting.

And you will go to him again.

I don't know!

I will not leave you alone

for one moment this night before dawn,

because before dawn we must get back to where we came from!

Julia, you must use every ounce of willpower you have.

You must!

I will try.

Come now.

You must go to the telephone and call Stokes.

I, I think I should stay here, Barnabas.

I should stay here in case the police come,

then I can tell them that the Sheriff's at Collinwood.

- They won't go there. - I'm telling you.

I will not leave you.

Is he calling you again?

Perhaps, perhaps.

Come, we must go to Stokes.

We must find him and we must get

the answers to the things we need before we go back.

Barnabas why don't we go to Angelique's room now?

Come.

Up until we know more.

JULIA: You're right.

If we can find out how to stop all this from ever starting,

it will be worth whatever we have to go through.

[eerie music]

You k*lled the Sheriff?

BARNABAS: Yes, I k*lled him.

Everyone's going mad.

It's the effect of this place.

I'm not surprised at your terrible story.

Horrified, if not surprised.

Police, Julia.

You people don't understand the enormities of your problems.

I do.

You see, I saw Gerard once myself.

Other people claim to have seen other spirits,

but I have not.

I don't envy you tonight,

caught between Gerard and the police.

Do you realize that I will be implicated in all this

if the police come here?

Elliot, we wouldn't have insisted upon you coming here

unless we needed you desperately.

I told you that before.

I cannot help you.

That hasn't changed.

BARNABS: It must!

I'm too old a man for this.

Too old.

Too frightened.

There, I've said it.

If you have any way to get back to your own time

in the name of heaven, use it.

No, Elliot.

Not before we get the clues that we need

from what Carolyn told us.

She's dead.

There's no way to find out.

But there is, Elliot.

A seance.

[dramatic music]

Yes, Elliot, we will have another seance tonight.

I will have no part in, in a seance.

JULIA: You must, Elliot.

You know Gerard.

You think he'll let you learn to destroy him?

Don't be naive, Julia.

I believe we must try.

Perhaps we cannot prevent Carolyn's ghost

from coming back here.

We're only human.

He can keep us from understanding what she says.

Arrange the table.

Haven't you listened to a word I've said?

There's nothing you've said that I didn't already know.

ELLIOT: You're a foolhardy man.

Yes.

Do you remember how you were years ago?

Of course I remember.

That was when I made my worst mistakes.

BARNABAS: You're too old to make another.

Too wise.

Well, so we may not be able to go back to Collinwood

as we remember it,

but we will be able to stop what's happened now.

If you can get back.

If we do, David will not die,

Carolyn and Quentin will not be as they are,

and everyone else will be able to live out their lives.

Now doesn't that mean something?

JULIA: The table's ready, Barnabas.

Well, Elliot?

Let us begin.

Thank you.

Are our hands touching?

Barnabas, perhaps I shouldn't take part.

Julia?

You must.

I feel.

BARNABAS: Is Gerard watching you, Julia?

I feel so, so strange.

Concentrate, Julia.

You must concentrate on what you're doing!

If Carolyn speaks to us, she will speak through you.

Now the circle must not be broken.

Remember that.

Spirits of the dead, hear us.

Heed our pleas,

for we need guidance to save those who are still alive.

Spirits of the dead, there is one among you, a friend.

Release her to us.

Let her speak with us.

Carolyn?

Carolyn, I beseech you to come to us.

Do you hear us?

If you do, give us a sign.

Give us a sign.

Carolyn, you must come to us.

Everything will be changed if you do.

Carolyn, hear us!

We beseech you!

[Julia grunting]

I hear you.

BARNABAS: Are you Carolyn?

Are you?

Oh.

Oh, Barnabas.

Oh, Barnabas, yes.

Yes, I am Carolyn.

[suspenseful music]

Carolyn, you must explain to us what the six clues mean.

We have to know what they mean!

Can you hear us, Carolyn?

The picnic.

The night of the sun and the moon.

The m*rder.

The unfinished horoscope.

The night I sang my song.

Rose Cottage.

BARNABAS: Yes, the Rose Cottage!

What is it? [wind whistling]

Tell us!

Do not break the circle!

Do not move your hands!

He's coming!

He's coming, he'll k*ll you!

I, I can feel a presence.

[suspenseful music]

[Julia sobbing]

Julia!

Julia!

He was at the window, I saw him!

Elliot!

Elliot!

[Julia screaming]

He's dead!

Julia!

[suspenseful music]

Julia!

Must I?

Must I?

Yes.

Yes, I always knew I would have to...

be with you as you want me to be.

Julia!

[suspenseful music]

Put it down!

Put down that knife!

You will not have her.

Julia, you are coming with me.

And there's nothing you can do to stop us!

[Julia groaning]

Julia!

She's dying.

You caused this.

She's dying!

Julia, I will take you back to Angelique's room.

Quickly!

The door!

You!

You helped me once.

Help us now.

[eerie music]

Julia, we can escape.

We can!

Julia, it's only a little bit longer.

[Julia groaning]

Julia, Julia!

Julia!

[dramatic music]

Come sit in this chair.

You'll be all right.

Just relax, sit down.

Julia.

Julia, you'll be all right.

Oh.

Who are you?

What is wrong?

Who are you?

[dramatic music]
