- Well, we were gonna playsome games,

but Kelp-Fest sounds great!

The only thing we need to dois clean this place up.

- We'll help you, Tidy.

It's time for Kelp-Fest.It's a party.

- That's right.Kelp-Fest is a cleaning party.

- Oh...

Boy, this Kelp-Fest thingis an emotional roller coaster.

- It's the one day a yearthat we garibaldies clean

every single solitary kelp leaffrom top to bottom.

- Every?- Single?

- Leaf?

- Oh, it's a shame that this dayonly comes once a year.

- Okay.We'll get busy.

- Yeah.- [chuckles]

- What's that?- Wow.

- What is it, exactly?Is it a big seashell?

- Well,it definitely has a shell.

Maybe something livesin the shell.

- If something were livinginside of the shell,

wouldn't it be talkingor moving or--

- Oh, boy!

Kelp-Fest is not the dayto have mystery creatures

that do not belong herelying on my kelp.

Oh, they'll laugh me right outof the kelp forest.

- Ha-ha-ha!Good-bye!

- Oh, Chipper,now is not the time, thank you.

- Tidy, why don't we take thiswhatever-it-is away from here?

- Ooh, what a great idea.

I can always counton you Reeftown Rangers

to do the right thing.

- Although first we haveto figure out what it is.

- Well, that's true.

Boy,you kids are helping already.

all: Bye, Tidy.

[all speaking at once]

- [laughing]

- All right.- That's great.

- Let's figure out wherethis little guy belongs.

Okay,so whatever this is has a shell,

but isn't a shellbecause, well,

the part in the middle'skind of squishy.

- Oh, yeah.It is squishy.

Whatever it is,it must not have bones.

- Yeah,and these look almost like...

[tinkling and whooping]

[all gasping]

- This thing is alive!

It's blinking.

- Oh, boy, I'm sorry, sir--

or madam--or, well...

we didn't knowyou were a living creature.

- Yeah, are you okay?Can we help you?

- Okay, so it's alive,but it doesn't talk.

- How are we gonna figure outwhat it is?

- Well, maybe we can figure outwhat it is

by figuring out what it isn't.

- You can say that again.

all: Flo!- Hey there, kids.

Splash,you may not have realized it,

but you were on the right track.

- Really?I mean--

[clears throat]Of course I was.

But just so everyone elseunderstands,

how was I on the right track?

- The best way to figure outwhat this creature is

would be to first figure outwhat it isn't.

But instead of goingcreature by creature,

you can go group by group.

- Group? You meanlike how we're all fish?

- You got it, Dunk.

A group is made up of organismsthat have similar features.

- Oh, like how we all have fins.

- And all fish have bones...or cartilage, like sharks.

[both laughing]Hey.

- Oh, Splash, you're right.We do have bones.

- Yeah, and we knowthat this guy doesn't,

so that means--

- It isn't a fish.

That's one group down.

all: Yeah!

- Nice job, kids.

You're off to a great start.

Now, if you'll excuse me,

I need to head to the surfaceto breathe.

all: Bye, Flo!

- So what other groupcould this be?

- Well, there are lots of them.

We just have to think about--ow!

- Think about what?

- Right now,I'm only thinking about

what just stuck me,

but I don't see anything.

What could've pinched me?

- [groans]Hey, Bubbles?

Listen, I just want to sayI am very sorry.

- For what?- Well...

- Ow!- That.

- A sea urchin.

Wow.That's another group!

Sea urchins are echinoderms.

- Oh, you're right!

I love echinodermslike starfish and sea cucumbers,

with their tiny little feet.

- Yeah, this creaturedoesn't have those.

This hasa lot of different parts.

And a shell.

- Yeah.Echinoderms don't have shells.

- Well, doesn't sound like ourfriend here is an echinoderm.

That's another one off the list.

Way to go, Reeftown Rangers.

So what other groups are there?

- Hmm.Shell... shell...

[gasps]Hey!

Crustaceans have shells.

- Who do we knowthat's a crustacean?

all: Hmm...

[all gasping]

- Hmm. Never seen a creaturequite like that before.

You think it's a crustacean?

- Well, actually, we were hopingyou could tell us.

- It's got a shell like youor a crab or a lobster,

and they're all crustaceans,so--

- True,but its shell doesn't cover

its whole bodylike a crustacean.

- [mumbling indistinctly]

- Very good point, Maury.I didn't think about that.

- What was that?

- Oh, he was just sayinghow this creature has tentacles,

not legs like a crustacean,so sorry kids.

Not a crustacean.

So it might be a cnidarian.

- A cnidarian?

You mean like an anemoneor a jellyfish?

- Ooh!I saw some jellyfish

over at takeoff pointwhen we got here.

- Oh, well, let's go!

- Good luck, kids!- [mumbles indistinctly]

- Bye.- Yeah.

- What?It can swim?

- We've been carrying itthis whole time.

- Don't remind me!

My poor fins.

[moans]

- All right, you guys.

Well, one less thingto worry about.

Now, let's go see Wave.Come on.

- Yeah!- To Wave!

- [mumbling]

- Hey, Wave. Hey, have you seenany jellyfish around here?

- Hey, there, kiddos.

Jellyfish, huh?

They're always around somewhere.

- Okay. Well, if you see any,can you let us know?

- Sure. Say,who's your little mollusk buddy?

I haven't seen him before.

- Oh, that's just a--wait, did you say mollusk?

- Sure. He's a molluskif I've ever seen one,

and I see one every day,if you know what I mean.

[chuckling]I'm talking about me.

Also a mollusk.- Oh.

So it isn't a cnidarianlike the jellyfish?

- No, no, no.Definitely a mollusk.

In fact,we're both cephalopod mollusks.

You can tell becausewe both have tentacles.

Just like yours truly,

invertebrate all the way.

- But what about the shell?

You don't have a shell.

- That's true,

but a lot of mollusks do,like sea snails.

Yep, looks like a goodold-fashioned mollusk to me.

- You have no ideahow old-fashioned.

all: Gush!- Gush, what do you mean?

- Your new friend hereis an ancient creature

known as a nautilus.

They've been aroundfor about million years.

That's why they're knownas living fossils.

all: Wow.

- That's even older than my dad.

- That's amazing.

- Nautiluses live deep downin the ocean

and don't come upthis far very often.

He probably got separatedfrom his family somewhere,

and then you found him.

- Aww.Poor little nautilus.

- Deep down, huh?

Hey! I know whereto take the nautilus.

Okay, little buddy, well,

your home's down therein the deep.

Do you want to go home?

♪ ♪

- I really wish he could talk.

- Aww.

♪ ♪

[all gasping]

- Bye.- Bye, buddy.

- See you later, little guy.- Bye!

- See ya!- Mortimer!

Oh, there you are!

- Mommy, Mommy!I made friends!

- Ha.Guess he can talk.

- Oh, boy,can he ever.

Sorry. Mortimer'sa little shy at first,

but once he warms up,he's a little chatterbox.

- Mommy, Mommy!I had an adventure!

And you know what?I'm not a fish

or a plant or a cnidarian.

I learned that I'm a mollusk!

- Wow!You learned a lot today, dear.

Now we should be heading home.

We have so muchto tell your father

about your adventure.

- Bye, little guy.

- Mommy, Mommy.Wait a second.

- All right, dear.Don't be too long.

♪ ♪

- Bye, new friends.

- Aww!- Bye!

- Bye!- Bye, Mortimer.

- He's so sweet.- Aww.

- Now, that was an adventure.- Yeah.

- And now it's time to... all: Get your feet wet!

- What lives in the deep ocean?

- What is this strange creature?

[spooky music]

Is it an alien from outer space?

♪ ♪

No.

This animal lives in the deep ocean

right here on planet Earth.

It's a giant isopod.

Giant isopods are crustaceans related to crabs and shrimp,

and they're huge because animals in the deep sea

tend to grow bigger than their shallow-water relatives.

I mean, are you kidding me?

Look at that thing.

It's as big as that kid's face.

Look at these giant spider crabs.

These are the biggest crabs on Earth

with legs that can grow up to be feet across.

Giant spider crabs and giant isopods

live in the deep ocean,

but the deep ocean is mostly unexplored.

Imagine what other wonderful and surprising creatures

could be living down there.

[upbeat music]

- The deep ocean is amazing.

- This has been "Get Your Feet Wet"!

- Okay. Everyone,swim down your favorite way.

- Okay.- Okay, okay, okay.

This time, Splash is the leader.

- Oh, okay.Okay.

Here I go.

Tail first!

Whoo-hoo-hoo!

all: Oh!

- Yeah!- Whoo-hoo!

[laughs]I love going backwards.

Whoo.- You're doing great!

- Ha-ha! Yeah!

Whoa-ho-ho!Yes! Yes! Yes!

[laughs]

- All right.My turn.

Look out below!

all: Whoa!

- It's amazing!- [laughing]

- Here I come!

Whoo-hoo!

Whoa!

Hee-hee-haw!Oh! Oh!

[laughing]- Whoa!

- That was so much fun!

- Okay.Your turn, Dunk.

- Okay, Dunk.

You can do this.

No bouncing backwards this time.

Don't let yourselfget turned around there.

[whimpers, inhales sharply]

Dunk dive!

Whoo!

[laughs]

I did it!

I mean, of course I did it.[laughs]

Wasn't I cool and stylish?

[laughter]

- You sure were, buddy.

Hey, do we have timefor one more?

- Well, it's getting late,and it's gonna get dark soon.

- Yeah, we should probablyhead home soon.

- Yeah.

- Aww.I wish we could keep playing.

- Hey, guys!I have a great idea.

Well, we don't wantto have to stop playing

because it's getting late,right?

- Yeah.- So how about a sleepover?

- A sleepover?

- Oh, that would be amazing!

- Oh, yeah!A sleepover!

This is so great.

I am so excited.

Yeah!

I just have one question.

What's a sleepover?

- [gasps]You mean you, Splash,

the explorer who's beeneverywhere and then some,

has never been to a sleepover?

- No,this would be my first time.

You see,I'm not really big on sleeping.

I don't sleep much at all.I never really have.

- Well, but thenwhat do you do at night?

- Well, at night,when you guys are sleeping,

I'm still kind of awake.

- But you get to doall sorts of fun things

at a sleepover besides sleep.

- Like what?- Okay.

Let me explain it to you.

You see,when you have a sleepover,

you and your friends--

- Uh, that would be us.

- Get to spend all nighttogether telling stories--

- And playing games.

- Yeah, and eating snacks.

- And playing games.

- And telling funny stories.

- And playing--- Let me guess.

all: Playing games.

- Oh, that's my favorite part.

Oh, also the snacks.

- Yeah. All that fununtil you get really tired

and everyone falls asleep.

- Wow. Well, it sounds great.I'm in.

all: Yay!

- Yeah! It's gonna be great.

Except for the sleeping part.

Oh.

♪ ♪

Well, I'm excited aboutthe games, that's for sure.

- Yeah, Dunk?

- Yeah?- What's that?

- Oh,it's just my little night-light.

- Oh.Okay, then.

- Yeah, see, the clusterwinksnail glows inside the shell,

and that glowhelps me sleep better.

It's just my thing.

- Oh.both: Who knew?

- Huh. Well, who knows?Maybe it'll help me sleep.

- Oh, don't worry, best buddy.

Besides, the night is young.

There's lots of funbefore the sleep even starts.

- Yeah!All right, everybody.

It's time for Splash'ssuper sandy sleepover to begin!

- Whoo!- Whoo-hoo!

- Seaweed!

all: Coral!

- [laughs]

Seaweed!

all: Coral!

- Whoa, almost got me.

[laughter]

- Okay, okay, I got another onefor you. Okay.

What's the strongest creaturein the ocean?

- What?- I don't know.

- Give up?- Yeah!

- A mussel!

[laughter]

all: Yeah!

all: Yeah!

all: Hey!

- Hey!

Whoo![laughs]

all: Yeah!

[laughter]

- And so the slimy,

slobbering queen of the abyss

peered into the ooey-gooeymud pit

and found...

- Yeah.

- Dum-da-da-da!

A walking, talking

goopy gob of...

Mud!all: No!

- [yawning]All right, guys.

Hoo!It's getting late.

I guess we should getsome sleep.

- So what do we doif we're not tired yet?

- Hmm.

Oh, I havea little bedtime thing

that helps meget ready for sleep.

Maybe it'll work for you.

[gasps]Try it with me.

- Huh.Okay.

[laughs]

- All right.Let's see here.

Oh.Okay.

First, I check my night-light.Check.

- Okay.

[clears throat]Check.

- Great. Okay.Now repeat and follow after me.

- Okay.

- The tide is calm,

the water's deep,

and now I can fall fast asleep.

- Fun!Okay.

[clears throat]

The tide is calm.

The water's deep.

The ocean is the placewhere the jellyf--

I don't--what's the rest?

- Perfect.Or close enough.

[chuckles]

Yeah, and usually by now,

I'm pretty much fast...

- Ocean is--

Dunk, I don't knowif this is working.

Dunk, I--Dunk?

Hello?

Dunk, Dunk, Dunk, Dunk, Dunk?

Hello?- Oh, yeah.

That's just how he sleeps.

Hey.You know what, Splash?

I bet my way of falling asleepwould totally work for you.

Ah.

Is this the perfect wayto fall asleep or what?

- I'll go with "or what?"

Bubbles,I just feel itchy and muddy.

- Really? Becausethis mud makes me feel relaxed,

and I usually just fall asleepand just...

- So itchy.Bubb--

ugh, brother.

- My turn?- Yeah.

- See?

I can attach my tailto some heavy coral

like an anchor,

so I won't drift awaywhile I'm dreaming.

- Oh.Well, sounds simple enough.

Let me tryto attach my tail here

to the coral like an anchor.Like you.

Oh, this isn't so hard.

Oh!Okay.

- Isn't this a lovely wayto fall asleep?

- Oh, it's lovely, yes.

- Now, let's takesome deep cleansing breaths.

- It is not working.

- That always works for me.

- Yes, deep breaths.- In and out.

- [exhaling loudly]- In and out.

- [exhaling loudly]- Peaceful.

- Oh!- Quiet.

- Yeah, so peaceful,so quiet.

This is incredibly relaxing,Ripple.

Yes.Very relaxing.

I am attached to the coral.

I am not attached to the coral.

Let me just--you are--

And she's out.

Oh, brother.

How am I gonna fall asleep?

[groans]What is wrong with me?

Why can't I fall asleeplike they did?

This is supposed to bea sleepover.

Sleep.[sighs]

I must be doing something wrong.

[gasps]That's it.

There's something wrong with me.

Hey, guys.Guys. Guys.

Guys, wake up!Bubbles! Ripple! Dunk!

Oh.Oh, sorry, Dunk.

- No problem.

- I'm so sorry to wake you guys.

I tried and I triedand I just can't do it.

I can't fall asleep.

I'm ruining the sleepover.

- Oh, no, no, Splash.

No, you're not.Not at all.

- Well, now what do we do?

- I don't know.

[gasps]

But I know someone who will.

- [snoring]

- [whispering]Gush!

Hey, Gush!

Gush, are you awake?

- Aah!

Oh, I must have dozed off therefor a second.

[laughs]

- Well, now that we're all up,

we wanted to see if you couldhelp us with our sleepover.

You see,I tried and tried and tried,

but I just couldn't fall asleeplike the others.

- Aw, well,here's the good news.

It's not your fault.

- It's not?- Nope.

It's becauseyou're a yellowback fusilier.

Schooling fish like youdon't need as much sleep

as the otherunderwater creatures.

Think back.

Did you everreally sleep that much?

- Well, actually, no.Not really.

- That's because schooling fishhelp each other out,

so your brains don't needas much time to recharge

as fish who don't swimin schools.

- Huh.Like mine.

Boy, it's missingits recharging right now.

- Yeah, but now that Splashlives here with us in Reeftown,

shouldn't he need more sleep

now that he's not withhis school anymore?

- Yeah, I mean,I tried everything.

I hovered like Dunk,I got muddy like Bubbles,

I wrapped around corallike Ripple,

but none of those waysjust felt right.

- Of course not,

'cause it's notwhat's right for you.

You'll knowwhen it's time to rest.

- I will?

- Sure, your brain knowswhen it needs to rest.

You'll be tired and sleepywhen you're ready to be.

- Huh.

But I still ruinedthe sleepover.

- What?- No!

- No, you didn't.

- We wanted to have a sleepover

'cause we wanted to keepplaying games with each other

and having a good time.

- Huh.Well, yeah, it was really fun.

Even without the sleeping.

- And boy,did we play some fun games.

- Splash toldthe funniest jokes.

- Yeah, and he was like--

- [snoring]

- Oh.

I guess he does sleep sometimes.

- Good night, best buddy.[chuckles]

- And now it's time to... all: Get your feet wet!

- This beach was dry this morning,

but now there's water here.

What's happening?

- ♪ Hey there, anemones, hanging on the side of a rock ♪

[upbeat rock music]

♪ But now the sun is baking you hot ♪
