♪ Takes him everywhere

- Phew! Sure is hot!

- Super hot!

- Hey Bali, look at the size of that aquarium!

- Wow!

Look at that! It's full of fish too!

Hey Dad, what is that?

- That's a deep sea diver.

He's wearing that suit

so he can go all the way to the bottom of the ocean.

- Doesn't he get scared?

- Him? No.

Hey Bali, you've got your swimming test today.

You feeling a little nervous?

- Just a bit.

- Look, you're a good swimmer, Bali.

You're going to be great.

Ah, here's your Mom with Lea.

- Here we go!

I got some cookies and orange juice. Hope that's OK.

The store was really crowded.

Hey, we should hurry, Bali. You mustn't be late.

- Here comes the bus now.

Let's go, Bali.

- Bye-bye, little fishes.

Bye-bye, Mr. Deep Sea Diver.

- Phew! It's even hotter on the bus than it is on the street.

It'll be good to get into that swimming pool, huh Lea?

- Ha ha ha!

[ Sighing ]

- Something on your mind, honey?

Is it your swimming test?

Ah...

- Our teacher says

we have to swim across the whole pool.

And that's without stopping!

- Does that worry you?

- But it's a long way.

And my feet don't touch the bottom.

See, what if I can't? What then?

- Last week you swam really well.

Just do your best, and you'll do just great.

I'm so proud of you.

You're my own little fishy-wishy.

- [All]: Ha ha ha!

- We're here! Let's go swimming!

[ Sighing ]

- Can I go in the pool with my friends?

- Wait up, Bali. Let me help you with your swimming cap.

- Wow!

Ha ha ha!

- Hey, Bali!

- Hi-ya, Charlie.

- [Both]: Tip, tap, topla!

- Come on, Bali. Our class is over there.

- Hey, just do your best and remember to have fun.

- Yeah, I will, Dad.

- Hey, I just can't wait for the swimming test. Can you?

My Mom promised that if I get my swimming medal today

I can wear it to school tomorrow.

- That's great. I just hope I can get mine.

- Bali!

Good luck, sweetheart!

- Thanks a lot, Mom!

- Hello, Charlie. And hello, Bali.

Are you boys ready for your swimming test now?

- Yeah! - Sure are!

- Great!

Now just grab a float and join the others in the pool

and we'll be starting the test in about minutes, OK?

- [Both]: Yippee!

- Yahoo!

- Ooh! It's so cold!

Hi Tamara! Oh, hi there, Soun!

- [Both]: Hi, Bali! Hi, Charlie!

- Are you worried about the test?

- A little scared. How about you?

- I'm not scared.

But I don't know if I can swim all the way

to the other side of the pool.

- Me neither.

I've never done it before.

I mean, it's so deep!

- Yeah, sure you can do it! It's easy!

You just paddle with your arms and kick your feet!

See? Ha ha ha!

- Right, over here, guys.

[ Whistle ]

As you know, today's your swimming test

and I'm sure you're all going to do just fine

because I think you're all great swimmers.

And when you're done

you'll all get something very special.

There's a gold medal here

for everyone who passes the test, OK?

All right, who's going first?

- Me! I want to be the first!

- OK, Charlie, you're up. - Yeah!

- All right, Charlie. You ready now?

On your marks...

[ Whistle ]

[ Cheering ]

- Go Charlie! Go on, son!

- Go, Charlie, go!

- He's good!

- Sure is!

- Really good! So quick!

- He did it!

- Woo hoo! That's my boy!

- Yippee! I'm the best in the pool!

- [All]: Yay!

- Look at you! Way to go, Charlie!

That was some good strong swimming!

OK, who's next?

Now, you ready, Tamara?

- Yeah, I sure am, Ms. Sorya.

[ Whistle ]

[ Breathing heavily ]

- You see how fast I went, Bali?

What are you looking at?

- Look at it! How do you do it, Charlie?

Boy, it's so deep out here

you can't even see the bottom of the pool!

Huh?

- That's it, Tamara! Go!

- Bali! Hey, take a look at Tamara.

She's almost finished!

- [Both]: Go, go, Tamara!

- I did it!

- Yay!

- [Both]: Woo hoo!

- Well done! You did just great, Tamara.

- Bali, it's OK. I know you can do it.

- I'm not quite ready yet.

- That's OK. There's no rush.

How about you, Soun?

[ Whistle ]

- Better get ready, Bali. You're next.

- Ah, there you are.

Glad you could make it. You ready?

- Uh...

Ready for what?

- We're going to explore the bottom of the ocean.

- We are? But we don't know what's down there!

- That's right.

So the best way to find out

is to go look, isn't it?

- Mmm-hmm.

- We jump in on three.

One, two, three! Woo hoo!

- Wow!

- Look over there, Bali.

- Hi there, Mr. Dolphin! - Ha ha!

Ha ha ha!

he looks like he's smiling at me.

Hey, what's that?

- That's a jellyfish. Hi, Miss Jellyfish!

- Ha ha ha!

She moves all funny, just like jelly!

- OK, here we are. We're at the bottom of the ocean.

- Wow! It's so beautiful!

Ah! A monster!

- Ha ha!

No, Bali. That's Mrs. Whale, the queen of the ocean.

She's really very nice. Say hi.

- Oh. Hi, Mrs. Whale!

- Look, Lea! There's Bali and he's swimming!

- Bali!

- Way to go, Bali! Almost there!

- Made it!

- He did it!

See that? That's my Bali!

- [All]: Yay!

- Nice swim, Bali!

Way to go! That was real good work!

- Wow, I'm going to get my gold medal!

- [Both]: Tip, tap, topla!

- [All]: Yay!

- Here's your medal, Bali.

Hey, that was a great swim today.

- Gee! Thank you Ms. Sorya.

I did it, Mom! I did it! I passed my swimming test!

- I know and I'm so proud of you, Bali.

You're my little fishy!

- Well done, son.

- Fishy!

- Ha ha ha!

- Can you hold my medal, Mom?

I want to go back in and swim some more.

- You have another test?

- No. I'm going in again to swim with Charlie, Tamara and Soun.

It's good fun in the big pool!

[ All laughing ]

But you needn't bother calling Tamara's name, Miss Chung.

- Oh, you're right!

But she didn't look sick yesterday.

Are you sad she's not here, Bali?

- Sure! I like playing with Tamara.

- Well, who knows? Maybe she's just late.

- Oh!

[ Knocking on door ]

- There. I'm sure that must be her now!

Come on in!

- I am so sorry! I guess we're a little late.

- No problem. And Tamara? There's nothing wrong, I hope.

- I can see her hiding behind her mommy! Yippee!

- [All]: Hooray! Tamara's here!

- You hear that, darling? All your friends

are glad you're here!

- Yeah, but they haven't seen my glasses yet!

- Glasses?

Glasses are neat! And those ones are really cool!

My cousin Julio's got some.

They're blue ones!

- Yeah, but I look horrible with my glasses on!

- Oh, Tamara! That's not true!

- You do not! And we can still play, Tamara!

- No! I never wanna play again!

- I don't know what to do!

Tamara's been in a state all morning, and I'm late for work!

There, there, sweetheart.

- Oh, it's all right.

Now, children, we are all going to think about this together,

and we're all going to sort it out together.

Isn't that right?

- [All]: Yeah!

- OK, tell us about

your visit to the eye doctor.

- Well, it all started when I told Mommy

that I couldn't really see

any of the letters in my dinosaur book!

The letters were wobbly,

so my mommy said she'd take me to have my eyes tested.

- Do you know what an eye doctor is called?

He's called an optician, Tamara.

- He was very nice! He showed me some pictures.

First, some little ones,

and some medium, and some big-sized pictures.

They were all wobbly, just like the letters!

So the doctor said...

[ Sobbing ]

- Then he said: Tamara, you need to wear glasses.

Is that right?

- Yes, Miss, that's right.

[ Sobbing ]

- Miss Chung?

If we all make a pair of glasses,

and then everybody in the class wore them,

then Tamara wouldn't be the only one!

- [All]: Oh, yeah! Great idea!

- Well done, Bali!

So what glasses would you like?

- I'd like, um... some star-shaped glasses!

- Miss Chung? Can I make some, too?

- Yes, you can! You can make my glasses!

- Oh, yes! I'll make you some really pretty ones!

- Ha, ha!

Well, my butterfly glasses

really are incredibly pretty!

We all swap glasses on !

[ Sobbing ]

- Please don't cry, Tamara. You will get used to them.

[ Bell ringing ]

- [All]: Yippee! Break time!

I don't think you should wear them for playing outside.

[ Sobbing ]

- Hiya, Kikou!

So, is this the kid that chose you?

[ Squeaking ]

- Ha, ha!

- Well, hello there, young man.

And what's your name?

- My name is Bali. What's yours?

- My name is Badoo.

Come, Bali! You're coming with me!

- Huh? Where?

- To the Clearing

of the Cuddly Toys!

- Oh, looks like there's a party here!

- Of course there is!

That's why we've come here, for today is

the Party of the Cuddly Toys!

- But there isn't anyone here!

- You must wait, Bali. Try not to be so impatient.

Some of us have come a very long way!

And while some of us can walk, run or crawl,

others may have had to swim all the way here!

You see, we're all very different.

Hello there, my friends!

Hi, it's Badoo! We're over here!

- I'm coming!

- Hello!

- My friends, let me introduce Bali.

- Hello, Bali, and welcome to the party.

- Oh, hi, Bali!

- Oh, wow! Hiya!

His name is Bali, and he's Kikou's very good friend.

oh, and you, turtle, might not be able

to run fast enough!

We'd see you straight away, so I guess that's out.

- What about me? What can or can't I play?

- Oh, well, you've got so many arms

that you'd win any ball game.

And that wouldn't be fair!

We're not all made the same way!

[ Sobbing ]

- Just because of your glasses?

- Yes, it's my glasses!

- You know, Tamara, just because a snail has no legs,

it doesn't mean he can't win the race!
