[Crystal]: Presenting...

Mom's special Mother's Day breakfast:

Blueberry pancakes.

And a glass of orange juice!

-Ah! -Go on, Iggy.

And a napkin!

[chuckles]

Thank you, everybody!

Mmm, mmm! These pancakes are--

Dee-yummy?

That's exactly what I was going to say.

Dee-yummy!

[giggling]

Rosie's Rule:

It's fun to say dee-yummy.

But it's even more fun when your mom says it.

Okay, Mom. Time to go.

Oh, where am I going?

We have to finish your Mother's Day surprise.

A Mother's Day surprise! What is it?

[chuckles] Mom, if we tell you, it won't be a surprise!

I guess that's true. But where should I go?

That's where Rosie comes in.

Yeah, that's where I come in!

Iggy come in too! [giggling]

While we're setting up your surprise...

...Iggy and me are taking you somewhere special

for Mother's Day!

That's... Fuen-tastic!

I'll go get ready for a special Mother's Day outing

with my Rosie Posie and my Iggy Ziggy!

And even though you're , you're still my Cutie Crystal.

Mom...

We're gonna have so much fun with Mom today!

[Iggy chuckling]

But what special thing should we do?

I've gotta know! [giggling]

♪ I have a great big question

♪ And I just can't let it go

Hmm... What should we do with Mom for Mother's Day?

Maybe...

♪ Dance on a mountaintop and somersault back down ♪

♪ Join the circus for an afternoon ♪

♪ And go for a picnic on the moon ♪

[gasps] Great idea! We can go to the duck pond!

Mom loves the duck pond.

[Mom]: The duck pond?

I love the duck pond!

Come on, Mom.

We're going to the duck pond for Mother's Day!

[all quacking]

[laughing]

Who's excited to go to the duck pond? I am!

[birds chirping]

[Rosie]: Woo-hoo! Here we are at the duck pond!

[Mom]: Ooh, I can't wait to see those cutie little duckies!

Hmm...

[Rosie]: Hey, I don't see any ducks.

Maybe they're celebrating Mother's Day too?

Quack, quack, quack.

Happy Mother's Day, Mama Duck!

Quack, quack, quack.

Thank you, my Baby Duck! I love you.

[quacking]

Iggy duck love you too!

[all laughing]

Rosie's Rule:

Even ducks can celebrate Mother's Day.

But I'm sad we didn't get to see any today.

That's okay, Rosie Posie.

I'm sure we can find something else to do.

Yeah! We can find something else to do!

How do we do that?

[Mom]: We can look at the map.

[Mom]: Here's a map of our town.

We can look here and decide where we want to go.

This is where we are at the duck pond.

And here's what else is around us in our town.

[Rosie]: Hey, there's a spoon!

I didn't know we had a big ol' spoon in our town!

Spoon, spoon! Iggy wanna go to spoon!

Oh, yeah! We're going! To the spoon! Oh, yeah!

So, I love the excitement but...

there's no big ol' spoon in our town.

The spoon is a symbol.

A what'll?

[chuckles] A symbol.

Symbols are pictures that stand for real things.

[Mom]: See these swings?

That's a symbol for the playground.

[Rosie]: Because playgrounds have swings?

[Mom]: Exactly! And this red hat?

That's a symbol for the fire station.

[Rosie]: Because firefighters wear red hats!

[Mom]: Uh-huh.

So, what do you think

the spoon could be a symbol for?

Hmm...

Well, you use a spoon to eat.

A restaurant?

You got it!

[giggling]

In fact, this symbol is for...

[Mom]: Tía's restaurant!

Mama macaroni! Tía's restaurant's on the map?

Bien por Tía.

Yay Tía!

[gasps] Maybe we can go to Tía's restaurant

and get dee-yummy horchata!

Oh boy, do I love horchata! Especially Tía's horchata.

It's right up there with Wisconsin cheddar. Mmm!

[giggling]

Hello? Anyone here?

Primo, what are you doing here?

I'm helping Mamá

at the restaurant for Mother's Day.

My job is to say, "Hello. How can I help you?"

We want to get horchata for Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day, Liz!

Lo siento, we don't have any more horchata today.

Well that's new information!

Where'd all the horchata go?

We had lots of customers this morning for Mother's Day,

and we ran out.

Hmm. No ducks. No horchata.

What else can we do for Mother's Day?

I know who can help me! I need to call Abuela.

Oh! I just spoke with Abuela.

She is mi mamá,

and today is Mother's Day in Mexico too!

[beeps]

[Rosie]: Happy Mother's Day, Abuela!

I'm getting my hair styled for Mother's Day breakfast

with my friends.

¿Qué pasa?

I want to take Mom somewhere special

for Mother's Day.

But I don't know where to go.

Ya veo. But you know what, Rosalía?

I know your mom loves spending time with you

no matter where you go,

whether it's the park, or the mercado...

The mercado? i¡Qué buena idea!

Oh! Your papá is calling to wish me a Happy Mother's day.

when there are so many fun things?

That's a map of the mercado. It shows everything that's here.

stands for a place at the mercado .

[Rosie]: Ooh, ooh! This guitar is a symbol for...

The music shop!

The taco truck!

[Rosie]: There's a paintbrush! What's that symbol for?

The arts and crafts stand!

[gasps] Mom, I know what we can do for Mother's Day!

One more shiny sticker...

Sticky, stick stick!

[Mom]: A few more glue dots...

[Rosie]: Dot, dot, dot, dot...

There!

It's a Mother's Day picture frame!

I can already think of the perfect picture to go in it.

[all giggling]

[camera clicking]

Ta-da!

Cool picture!

And cool picture frame!

Thanks! We made it at the arts and crafts booth

at the mercado.

I found it by looking at the symbols on the map!

[chuckles] Way to go, Rosie!

[Papá chuckling]

Rosie's Rule:

There are lots of ways to celebrate Mother's Day.

Especially if there are lots of reasons why you love her.

[giggling]

-Oh! -[all laughing]

Merry-Go-Rosie!

Wee!

[Papá]: Okay, we went down the big slide.

We bounced in the bouncy house.

We spun on that spinny thing that made me very dizzy.

i¡Ay!

Got ya, Marco!

[giggling]

Niños, looks like we have time to do one last thing

before the adventure park closes.

Hmm...

[gasps] The merry-go-round!

[Rosie]: Por favor. That's what I want to do!

i¡Yo también!

Let's go to the merry-go-round

and ride the horsies!

I wonder what kind of animals will be on the merry-go-round.

I've gotta know!

What kind of animals will be on the merry-go-round?

Maybe...

♪ There will be animals of every different kind ♪

♪ Like a unicorn-asaurus or a pointy porcupine ♪

♪ We'll ride through the park to a faraway place ♪

♪ Like a purple-ish polka-dot planet in space ♪

A unicorn-asaurus would be wow-mazing.

[train horn honking]

Choo-choo! Iggy want choo-choo!

But Iggy, we want the merry-go-round.

Maybe we should just go on the spinny ride again.

Uh, I don't think my legs like that idea.

How about you take Iggy to the train,

and I'll take Rosie and Javi to the merry-go-round.

Are you sure, Crystal?

Marco, I'm , and I'm very grown up.

[gasps] And look at those adorable balloon animals!

What was I saying? Oh, yeah.

Me, very grown up. So?

You have the phone I gave you?

Right here!

Muy bien.

You can take them to the merry-go-round.

Rosie's Rule:

Sisters have the best ideas.

Especially about merry-go-rounds.

[Papá]: Here are your tickets.

Make sure you don't lose them

because you can't ride the merry-go-round without them.

We'll meet you right here afterwards. Have fun!

Okay, this will be easy peasy.

We'll just follow the sign that way

to go to the merry-go-round.

Let's go to the merry-go--

Whoa! It's windy!

I better put these tickets somewhere before they blow away.

I'll hold them. I have very strong fingers.

My fingers are so strong. I can hold them.

Thanks, guys, but as the person in charge,

I'll hold the-- [gasps]

[gasps] The tickets!

[grunting]

[Rosie exclaiming]

Whoa!

-Excuse me! -Excuse us, coming through!

Excuse me!

[panting]

Ugh!

-[panting] -Got them!

Crystal! You're a great ticket catcher!

And a very fast runner.

The tickets are safe and sound now.

Now we can go to the merry-go-round!

That's right. Follow me. This way!

I mean, that way!

Uh...

Crystal, why do we keep stopping?

Oh no, are we lost?

Pfft, of course we're not lost, Javi!

It's just that I'm, uh, not exactly sure where we are.

I think that means we're lost.

I don't know.

Crystal usually scratches her head when she's lost

and says, "hmm..."

Hmm...

[both]: We're lost.

Crystal, we have to find the merry-go-round.

I've got to see the unicorn-asaurus!

Don't worry, Rosie, we'll find the merry-go-round.

We just need...

A map.

-A map? -Yes!

We can follow the map to the merry-go-round.

Let's follow the map!

Map following, starting now!

Uh... Do you know how to follow a map?

Nope. I really don't.

Come here, I'll show you.

[Crystal]: See these picnic tables?

That's where we are now.

[Crystal]: And here's the merry-go-round.

So we need to make a route that will take us from here...

to there!

We'll go past the treehouse,

around the bouncy ball game,

across the bridge, and then to the merry-go-round.

i¡OÓrale! That's the best route ever!

Oh, yeah! It's a route! To the merry! Go-round!

[man]: Attention.

The adventure park will be closing

in minutes.

[both]: minutes?!

Rosie's Rule:

When you have minutes to get to the merry-go-round,

save your happy dance for later.

That way to the treehouse!

There's the treehouse!

[Javi gasps]

Yup. We found the first marker on our route.

[Javi]: That treehouse looks kind of spooky.

[Rosie]: It sounds kind of spooky, too.

[wood creaking]

If you ask me,

I'd say this is a haunted treehouse.

Oh. It is a haunted treehouse.

You mean we have to walk past a haunted treehouse

to get to the merry-go-round?

It is on our route, Javi. But don't worry.

There's nothing to be afraid of. It's just pretend!

[creaking]

Grab my hand. Let's get this over with.

It's just pretend, it's just pretend,

We made it past!

You know, it wasn't even that spooky.

-[creaking] -[shouting]

Still spooky!

Okay. The next thing on our route

is the bouncy ball game.

i¡Vamos, prima!

[gasps]

There's the bouncy ball game!

Whoops! Ball on the loose.

Kick it here!

i¡La tengo!

[Rosie]: Rosie and Javi for the win!

Yay!

Ha! [gasps]

Uh-oh! Whoa!

Come here, bouncy ball!

-[panting] -[grunting]

We got them all.

[man]: Attention.

The park will be closing in five minutes.

[gasps] Five minutes?!

Okay.

[Crystal]: So we're at the bouncy ball game.

The next thing on our route is...

[Rosie]: The bridge!

To the bridge!

There's the bridge, right there!

And look what's on the other side.

[Rosie and Javi gasp] The merry-go-round!

[cheerful music]

Uh-oh.

Just when you think you're gonna get

to the merry-go-round,

a one-man band shows up and foils the plan!

We have to pass him and get to the bridge!

[all]: Huh?

[applause]

We can't get past!

If we can't get past,

we won't make it to the merry-go-round

before the park closes!

[sighs]

I was so excited to get to the merry-go-round,

but it feels like we'll never get there and--

I need to flop.

Breathe in... [inhaling]

Breathe out... [exhaling]

Wiggle about.

Now I'm ready to figure this out.

i¡Vamos a ver!

I know who can help us!

[cheerful music]

I need to call Abuela.

[beeps]

i¡Hola, Abuela!

I'm at El Museo de Arte Moderno to see the sculpture garden.

[gasps] I love sculptures! ¿Qué pasa?

We're following a route to the merry-go-round.

But the bridge is blocked and now we can't get there!

Ay, ya veo.

Rosalía, I can understand how you feel.

El Museo is very crowded today,

so now I need to go around the other way to go inside!

The other way?

That's what we need to do!

Gotta go, Abuela! Have fun at the museo!

Crystal, Javi.

Maybe we can find another route to the merry-go-round!

Another route? That's not a bad idea, Rosie.

Let's check out the map.

Look! Here we are at the bridge.

So we can go around the garden, past the churro stand...

[Javi]: Mmm, churros.

[Rosie]: ...and to the merry-go-round!

[Crystal]: Good job, little sis!

You found another route!

[man]: Attention.

The park will be closing in three minutes.

Don't close the park yet!

We found a new route and we'll be right there!

[laughing]

We thought we were meeting you at the entrance.

We finished a little early so we decided to meet you here.

And we brought churros!

Rosie's Rule:

You can follow a route to get to wherever you want to go.

And sometimes,

a churro will find a route to your tummy!

[giggling]

Welcome to Story Time with Mom.

Today's story is Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Once upon a time,

Goldilocks was skipping through the woods

when she smelled something delicious coming from a cottage.

[sniffing]

It was porridge.

Goldilocks tasted

the first bowl of porridge.

Yowza! This porridge is too hot!

But...

All it needs is some cold milk.

And a happy face made of blueberries!

Ah... Perfect.

Huh?! That's not what the story says!

Moving on.

Next, Goldilocks saw three chairs.

She sat in the first chair and said,

This chair is too hard.

And you know what? This room has no... pizzazz!

Pizzazz?

Much better!

Anyway...

Just then, the three bears came home.

We're home!

Hey, this lava lamp is really cool!

Thank you!

Thank you? Okay, this isn't right.

Goldilocks is supposed to run away because she's scared!

Scared? Of these cuties? Never.

Anyone hungry for dinner? I made enchiladas!

-Yes! -Me, me, me!

Enchiladas? I'm in!
