Aren't carnivals the best, Rosie Posie?

I just love the sights and the smells.

[girl giggling] And the duckies!

[laughing] [Mom]: Definitely the duckies!

Rosie, Mom, you're here!

Welcome to our school carnival.

Your school did a fantastic job, Crystal.

Especially with the duckies!

Rosie, you have to go to the fun house.

-The fun house? -Uh-huh.

It's the biggest, coolest, most fun thing at the carnival!

Ooh!

Rosie's Rule:

If something's the biggest, coolest, and most fun

thing at the carnival, you've gotta do it!

Okay, Crystal. I'll go to the fun house!

Awesome! You're gonna love it! See ya there!

I wonder what the fun house is like? I've gotta know!

What will the fun house be like? Maybe...

[Jun]: Hi, Rosie!

Did you see the fun house?

[both gasp] Together!

[Mom]: Whoa! Hang on there, Rosie Posie.

First, I need to give you tickets.

Well, that's new information!

What do we need those for?

You need tickets to pay for the things you want

to do at the carnival.

Here you go. Five tickets.

Yes! I've got my tickets!

I've got my tickets too!

So, it's fun house time!

Have fun, girls!

-Hi, Mr. Calvin! -Hi!

Hello, Rosie and Jun!

Are you ready to have fun at the fun house?

[both]: Gonna go... in the fun house.

It's just, the fun house looks kinda...

[Jun]: And those sticky icky cobwebs!

[gasps] Maybe I could get a rainbow.

Wait! I wanna be a fluffy koala!

Oh, of course!

That will be one ticket each, please.

Gracias. Now, prepare to be transformed!

[both]: Yay!

There you are! One fluffy koala...

[laughing]

[inhales deeply] Guess what?

I'm ready to go to the fun house now.

Orange tigers are not afraid of the fun house.

Welcome again!

Now are you ready to have fun at the fun house?

We're ready!

[bats squeaking] Ah! Or maybe not.

Jun, can we do one more thing before we go inside?

Well, I am pretty good at the beanbag throw.

[Jun]: And the duckie game. And the ring toss.

And we have enough tickets for all of them. Let's play!

[bell ringing]

[both]: Yay!

I guess we were both pretty good at the games!

Are you ready to go to the fun house?

Oh, yeah. I'm super duper ready.

It's okay, Rosie.

[sighs] I really do want to go inside.

But I'm scared.

I need to call Abuela.

[Mom]: Here you go!

[chiming]

[Rosie]: i¡Hola Abuela!

[indistinct chatter]

i¡Hola, mi niña!

I'm walking my friend Vero's puppy in the park.

i¡Dile "hola" perrito!

[barking, panting]

[giggling] i¡Hola, perrito!

¿Qué pasa?

We're at the carnival,

and I really wanna go in the fun house.

But I'm a little scared.

Mira Rosalía,

I think the puppy knows how you feel.

Sometimes, he's scared of my tlacuache keychain,

even though it's pretend!

Pretend?

[gasps] Gotta go Abuela!

[Rosie]: Paper isn't spooky!

Hmm... And these cobwebs are just cotton balls!

Big sisters are definitely not spooky!

Jun, guess what?

I'm not scared anymore.

I'm ready to go in the fun house!

Wait. Before I continue...

Don't worry, Mr. Calvin.

This time, we're really going inside.

Really, really.

Alrighty, then!

That will be three tickets each, please.

[both]: Three tickets?

But I only have one ticket left!

Everything else cost one ticket.

Yeah!

[Rosie]: One ticket,

one ticket, one ticket!

That's true.

But the fun house is bigger

than the other things at the carnival.

It has more value than the other rides and games,

because there's a lot more to do and see inside.

That's why it costs more tickets.

[sighs]

I'm finally ready to go in the fun house.

But now I can't

because I don't have enough tickets and...

I need to flop.

Breathe in... [inhaling]

Breathe out... [exhaling]

Wiggle about.

Now I'm ready to figure this out!

Vamos a ver!

Hmm...

Hola, Rosie. Hi, Jun.

Did you go in the fun house yet?

[groans] I can't go in the fun house.

It costs three tickets and I only have one ticket.

I have an extra ticket.

[Jun]: So if you have one ticket,

and they give you two tickets...

I have three tickets!

That's enough to go into the super fun, fun house!

First fun house stop is...

the magical maze!

[Crystal]: See if you can find your way through!

Wow!

[giggling]

I'm all mixed up!

This is so twisty and silly!

Oof! [giggling]

You made it!

Next stop... the wall of mirrors!

Ooh!

Hey, Jun, look!

I'm all wiggly!

I'm upside down!

[giggling]

And now for our final stop, the wobbly bridge.

Uh... How wobbly is it?

Don't worry. It's fun wobbly, not scary wobbly.

-Whoa! -Wee!

[giggling]

[both]: Woo-hoo!

The fun house was a blast!

Yeah! And now I know why we needed three tickets.

The other games were wow-mazing...

but the fun house is super-mazing-tastical!

♪ When I'm trying to decide

♪ Which kind of toy I want to buy ♪

♪ I look at all the prices

♪ And I say, hmm...

♪ These toys aren't all the same ♪

This one's better made.

♪ And this one might just break when I play ♪

[Rosie]: So you know what?

-♪ If you think it's perfect -Cuesta mas.

♪ The value's worth it if it costs more ♪

♪ Oh, the value helps me learn ♪

♪ What some things are actually worth ♪

♪ That's why value is so exciting to me ♪

[giggling]

Rosie's Rule:

Some things cost more than other things

because they have more value.

[Tía shouts]

No te preocupes, Tía. It's just pretend.

Huy! Phew! Ay, ay, ay!

[laughing] My hair almost fell out.

Crystal's New Bunny.

[startled meowing]

I name you Sir Iggy!

[giggling] Now, you're a knight too!

Hooway! Sir Iggy!

[meowing]

[meowing]

[Crystal]: Oh, Rosie!

Iggy! Look what I have!

Ooh, a blanket!

Well, yes, it's a blanket.

But guess what's under the blanket?

A porcupine? A bouncy ball?

A dinosaw!

Iggy, a great big dinosaur won't fit in there!

Is it a tiny dinosaur?

[laughing] How 'bout I just show you?

[Crystal]: Ready?

[gasps] i¡Un conejito!

Bunny!

We got him from the animal shelter!

He's all ours.

Can we pet him?

Yes, but he might be a little scared

being in a new place.

So you need to be very gentle.

Look, I'm being so gentle.

[Rosie]: We're gonna take such good care of you.

Hmm... But how do you take care of a bunny?

I've gotta know!

Hmm... How do you take care of a bunny?

Maybe...

♪ We can take it on a hop across the plains ♪

♪ And bury in a burrow if then it starts to rain ♪

♪ With carrot cake, carrot soup, and carrot stew ♪

[giggling]

That would be supertastical.

[Mom]: Okay, Fuentes kids!

Ready to go to the pet store?

Mom, we can't go to the pet store now!

We just got a bunny!

Oh, I know all about the cutie wootie bunny wunny!

But we're going to need supplies to take care of him.

So we need to get to the pet store and get them.

In the meantime, here's some lettuce and water

for the bunny until we get back.

Who's excited about the new bunny?

I am!

Hey, Crystal. What's the bunny's name?

I don't know yet. Any ideas?

Iggy!

[giggling]

The bunny can't be Iggy, you're Iggy!

[meowing]

[purring]

Here we are at the pet store.

Where's the bunny section?

It's right over there, Rosie Posie.

But first, we need to get some cat food for Gatita.

Oh, right. 'Cause Gatita's a pet too!

How long will it take, Mom?

I really want to get to the bunny section.

Don't worry, Crystal, it'll be quick.

See? Quick!

Oh, there are new flavors.

Tender Turkey. Oh, I bet Gatita would love that.

Or peas and rice! She'd love that even more.

[gasps] Sweet potato stew?!

Oh that's definitely the one. Or maybe--

[Crystal]: Hey, Mom? While you figure this out,

how about Rosie and I go to the bunny section?

Yes! That idea! What Crystal said!

Please?

Good idea, 'cause I haven't even gotten

to the seafood flavors yet.

Come on, Crystal! Let's go shop for the bunny!

[Mom]: Remember, we can't buy too many things,

so make smart choices!

-Okay! -Got it, Mom!

-Thank you, bye, see you later! -We'll be smart!

Okay, how many should I get?

Okay, Rosie, let's start with the important stuff.

Yes!

[gasps]

Bunny toys!

Look at this little unicorn and cutie banana!

Rosie, Mom said to make smart choices.

And I don't think getting all of these bunny toys are very...

Oh my goodness, look at the little pumpkin stuffie!

[squeaking]

Rosie's Rule:

It's really hard to say no to a pumpkin stuffie.

Let's put 'em all in the cart.

We can decide what we want to keep later.

Let's keep shopping! [giggling]

[Rosie]: Whoa!

[grunting]

[giggling]

Hmm...

Okay, the last thing we have to get is a pen for the bunny.

Pen for the bunny. Got it!

Um...

No. Hmm...

[gasping]

Mama macaroni!

It's a super-rifical bunny castle!

Okay, I love castles.

But do you really think this is a smart choice?

It has a... bunny bridge!

[both]: Let's put it in the cart.

[grunting]

The bunny will feel like a prince in this castle.

Well, I think that's everything!

Woo-hoo!

[both]: Oh, yeah! We got... lots of stuff...

for the bunny. Oh, yeah!

We got... lots of stuff.

We did get lots of stuff.

Too much stuff.

Sorry, Rosie, but Mom said we can't buy too many things.

We need to take some stuff out.

Take stuff out?!

But how do I know what to take out when...

I love everything?!

[Crystal]: Here's what we'll do.

I'll hold up something and you tell me keep

or don't keep. Got it?

Got it.

Unicorn toy.

Hmm... Keep!

[giggling]

Banana toy.

Keep!

Bunny paintings.

Keep and keep!

Giant three story castle with ramps and bunny bridge?

Totally keep!

So, what are we keeping so far?

Um, everything?

I think we need to start over.

[groans]

I need to call Abuela.

[chiming]

[Rosie]: i¡Hola, Abuela!

i¡Hola, mi niña!

I'm doing yoga in the park.

Time for tree pose!

¿Qué pasa?

We got too much stuff for our new bunny.

But I can't figure out what to put back!

i¡Ay! That IS a lot of stuff.

Mira, Rosalía.

Think about what you need to take care of the bunny,

and not what you want.

Time for warrior pose!

i¡Adiós, granito de arroz!

i¡Ciao, bacalao!

[gasps] Crystal!

Abuela said to think about what we need

to take care of the bunny, and not what we want.

That's a great idea!

Well, she is Abuela!

Okay, here's what we're gonna do.

So, this cart will be for the things we need,

so things we keep.

And this cart will be for the things we want,

so things we won't keep.

Hmm. I guess bunnies don't need bunny toys.

We can put them into the "don't keep" cart.

How 'bout this bag of food?

Hmm, well, everybody needs food.

Bunnies and people! Keep!

We definitely need the water dish

because bunnies need water.

But he doesn't need the bunny paintings.

Don't keep, don't keep!

We decided everything!

[Crystal]: Not everything, Rosie.

[gasps] We have to get the bunny castle!

This pen will be fine.

It's not as fancy as the castle,

but it'll keep the bunny safe and comfy.

But the ramp. And the bunny bridge!

Rosie.

Okay...

Bye-bye, bunny castle.

I'll miss you.

Rosie's Rule:

Even if you don't need it,

sometimes it's hard to say goodbye to a bunny castle.

[Crystal grunting]

Uh, Rosie? Could you let go, please?

Okay...

[grunting]

[sighs] I just wanted our new cutie wootie bunny

to be happy and play with bunny toys,

and sleep in a great big bunny castle, and...

I need to flop.

Breathe in... [inhaling]

Breathe out... [exhaling]

Wiggle about.

Now I'm ready to figure this out!

[gasps]

[Rosie]: Hey, Crystal! Since we can't buy

the bunny castle, maybe we can make one!

Ooh, I love a project!

[Mom]: Hi, girls! I decided to get Gatita's good ol'

regular kitty food.

Stick with what works, am I right?

Oh, whoa!

Are we getting two carts of stuff for the bunny?

No, Mom! This is the stuff that we want for the bunny.

But this is what we need to take care of the bunny,

so he's safe and happy.

So we're getting all the stuff here!

Hey, you girls made some very smart choices.

Iggy smart too!

Yes, you are, Iggy Wiggy.

But that's a doggy treat.

[giggling]

♪ And everyone has needs

♪ The wants are what we'd like

♪ But needs help us survive

♪ A toy might look like fun

♪ And there's nothing wrong with wanting one ♪

♪ But it's not the same as a need ♪

[Crystal]: What do you want?

♪ A brand new bike

[Crystal]: But what you need?

♪ Water to drink and food to eat ♪

♪ Is a place to live and place to sleep ♪

♪ And that's the difference between wants and needs ♪

[sniffing]

The bunny loves his castle.

Yeah, he's like a bunny prince!

Don't forget about the bunny toy I made.

I Sir Iggy!

I save dragon!

[gasps] Maybe the bunny's name can be Dragon!

What do you think, little bunny?

Should your name be Dragon?

He says yes!

Rosie's Rule:

When you get a new pet,

there are things you want, like toys,

and things you need, like food and water.

Dragon!

And a supertastical bunny name!

[meowing]
