Now everyone will see that the Purple Knight

is making a royal appearance today at the bookstore!

[Rosie]: When's she gonna get here, Mom?

I can't wait to see her purple helmet,

and her purple horse and her magic shield!

Pshh!

[Mom chuckling]

She'll be here soon.

Which means we'd better finish getting ready

for her royal visit.

Grab your horses, my little knights,

and giddy up this way!

-[both]: Neigh! -I'm a horse!

[grunt]

Oops.

Rosie's Rule: If you and your brother

are riding pretend horses,

make sure they're going the same way!

[laughing]

Whoa, horsie!

Welcome to Purple Knight story time!

[Rosie]: Mama Macaroni!

Is all of this for the Purple Knight?

Yep! We need to set up the stuff

so everyone can pick what they want

for Purple Knight story time.

I want to help set up for the Purple Knight!

Iggy too!

Okay! Let's start by carefully

taking everything out of these boxes.

[crashing] Huh?

Oopsie.

Well, at least we have one box unpacked! Let's keep going!

[client]: Pardon me, Mrs. Fuentes.

I'm looking for a book about pigeons.

Can you help me?

Oh! Of course! I'll be right there.

Knight Rosie, Knight Iggy, I need to help a customer.

But what about the Purple Knight?

We have to set everything up.

Rosie, no one is more excited

about the Purple Knight than me.

I'll be right back, then we'll set up.

Will you guard the kingdom until I get back?

Yes, I can! Huzzah!

Pigeons. Right this way.

Iggy want dis. And dis.

Iggy, we need to wait 'til Mom gets back to set everything up.

Or maybe we could do it ourselves!

What's the best way to set up for story time?

I've gotta know!

[bright music]

♪ I have a great big question

♪ And I just can't let it go

How can I set up for story time?

Maybe...

♪ A bubble lifts everything into the air ♪

♪ Then an octopus juggles while balanced on a chair ♪

♪ He launches them up into outer space ♪

♪ And they zoom back to Earth where they settle in place ♪

A juggling octopus would be supertastical.

[gasps] [Rosie]: Maybe we can put

all of the Purple Knight stuff in a tall tower!

The Purple Knight loves tall towers.

Iggy love towers too!

[Rosie, singsongy]: This is gonna be

the tallest tower, oh yeah!

Ta-da! Now everyone can pick what they want

for Purple Knight story time!

Greetings! It is I, Knight Javi!

Hola, Knight Javi! Come pick what you want

from the Purple Knight Tower of Stuff!

Hmm. I pick...

The silver shield!

Excellent choice, Knight Javi!

Pero, it's all the way at the bottom.

How are we going to get it?

Iggy do it!

-Wait! -i¡Espera!

We need to do this slowly and carefully.

Slowly...

[Iggy]: Carefully...

Carefully...

Ugh!

[gasps]: We got the shield! Hooray dance?

i¡Sale y vale!

[both]: Elbow bump, silly jump, i¡muévete!

-[gasps] -Uh-oh...

Rosie's Rule:

Sometimes you do your hooray dance

and then your tower falls down.

[Mom]: All righty, my little knights,

I am back and ready to--

Oh! Cheddar Cheese Louise! What happened here?

Lote did it.

Lote did it, huh?

Lote didn't do it, Mom.

We did.

We tried to set up all of the Purple Knight things

in a tall tower.

But the tower fell down.

Splat!

Well, Knight Mom is here now,

and she is ready to--

[client]: Pardon me, Liz.

I'm looking for a book about pickle making.

Hmm, Knight Mom has to help another customer.

[all]: Aw...

But I'll be right back

and then we'll set up for story time.

Um... Pickles, okay.

You know, I've dabbled in pickle-making myself...

I guess we have to wait for your mom to get back.

Or we can try setting up again!

'Cause knights never give up!

Cierto. Knights never give up!

But what if the knights don't know how

to set up for story time?

Hmm. I know who can help!

Mom, I'm calling Abuela!

[chiming]

[children]: i¡Hola, Abuela!

i¡Hola, mis niños!

I'm at the tianguis looking for marigolds.

Mmm, smells so good. ¿Qué pasa?

We need to set up all this stuff

for the Purple Knight story time.

But we don't know how!

i¡Ya veo! Mira Rosalía,

the trick about setting things up in a store

is to make it easy for customers to find what they need.

[gasps] That's a good idea, Abuela!

Oh! I see more marigolds over there.

[inhales] And they smell even better.

i¡Adiós granitos de arroz!

[all]: i¡Ciao, bacalao!

We need to set up everything so it's easy for people to find.

How 'bout we put everything on those castle shelves?

Oh, yeah! But we need to hurry.

The Purple Knight will be here soon!

i¡Vamos!

[rhythmic music]

[grunting]

Hi, Rosie. Hi, Javi.

Is the Purple Knight here?

I've been wanting to meet her my whole life.

Well, since I read her first book.

We've read them all!

Not here yet.

But you should pick what you want for story time.

Ooh, how exciting!

I want a crown, so I can be a royal queen.

I want a bugle.

So I can play the Purple Knight song.

[imitates the trumpet]

[both]: Help yourself!

Uh, I can't find the crown.

I can't find the bugle either.

Hmm, let me look.

Hmm... Ah-ha!

You found the bugle?

No, but I did find a lute.

That sounds cool. But I still want a bugle.

And how can I be a queen without a crown?

It's impossible!

Don't worry, Jun and Quinn.

We're going to find what you need!

Ah-ha! I found the crown, Jun!

Jun went bye-bye.

That was kind of easy to find.

Right?

[Mom]: Okay, Knight Mom is back and--

[gasps] Let me guess.

You tried to set everything up again.

Uh-huh. But again, it didn't work.

[sighs]

I just wanted to help get ready

for Purple Knight story time,

but now it's a mess and--

I need to flop.

Breathe in... [inhales]

Breathe out... [exhales]

Wiggle about.

Now I'm ready to figure this out.

Vamos a ver!

There's gotta be a way to set everything up

so people can find what they need.

[Mom]: There is. We can put everything in categories.

What are categories?

A category is a group of things that are alike.

It's how I set up the books in my bookstore.

See this book about pigeons?

It's near the books about robins,

and owls and blue jays.

They are all in the bird category!

And look at these books.

Pies, veggie snacks, eggs...

That's the cooking category!

Or the yummy category.

I'd say both!

I know what to do now.

Come on, Javi and Iggy.

We have to put this Purple Knight stuff in categories!

[bright music]

Ooh!

Oh, oh!

[Rosie]: This looks spectaca-rifical!

I'm not sure what that means, but I'm pretty sure I agree!

Jun, Quinn.

Let's try to find what you need again!

I need to find the bugle.

That's in the instrument category.

I found it!

[inhales]

[upbeat melody]

Uh, what about my crown?

That's in the costume category!

Here it is!

Welcome to my royal castle.

You may bow to your queen.

Ooh! My turn now! I need the magic silver shield.

That's in the toy category...

Ah-ha! i¡Ahí está!

Huzzah! Magic shield, make the Purple Knight appear!

[giggles]

[woman]: Did somebody call for the Purple Knight?

-[all gasp] -[Javi]: It's the Purple Knight!

[cheering]

-[Jun]: Hooray! -Huzzah!

Greetings, my royal friends!

Who wants to hear a brand new story about... me?

I do!

♪ Groups of the same kind

♪ Shops and stores use categories ♪

♪ To make things so easy to find ♪

♪ When at the book store I know what to look for ♪

♪ Books aren't in piles I find them in aisles ♪

♪ At the mercado There's so much to see ♪

♪ And everything has its own category ♪

♪ To make things so easy to find ♪

♪ To make things for me so easy to find ♪

[children laughing]

[trumpeting]

Suddenly, the Queen heard stomping outside the castle!

It's a dragon!

Stomp! Stomp! Rawr!

Don't worry, I'm a nice dragon.

Well, in that case, let's celebrate!

[trumpeting]

Rosie's Rule:

The best part of Purple Knight story time...

is the story!

[all]: Huzzah!

[giggling] Rawr!

Rosie's No-Strawberry Stand.

[insects buzzing]

[Javi]: It's so hot today.

I know, primo. What can we do to cool off?

Sprinkler?

Too tangly.

-Shady tree? -Too far away.

Wait for winter?

Too much waiting.

Hi, Jun! Hi, Quinn!

Hi, Rosie and Javi!

It's so hot out here.

Hotter than a hot potato.

Hotter than a hot bath.

Hotter than a hot potato in a hot bath!

[sighs]

Guess what?

I'm gonna find something that will help us cool off.

But what? I've gotta know!

♪ And I just can't let it go

What will cool us off on a hot day?

Maybe...

♪ We'll build a treehouse made of icy frozen walls ♪

♪ And land in a pool of chocolate milk ♪

Hmm, I don't think we have enough chocolate milk

to fill up a pool.

I'm calling Abuela!

[tablet chiming]

[blender whirring] i¡Hola, mis niños!

Abuela?

It's so loud!

[muffled]: I was just making some strawberry...

[both]: What?!

[giggling]

[blender stops] Much better.

i¡Hola, mis niños!

I was just making some strawberry horchata.

Mmm, I love strawberry horchata.

It's so creamy and icy.

And strawberry-y-y.

[Abuela chuckles] It's the perfect drink

on a hot day.

-[gasps] -i¡Eso es!

We can make strawberry horchata for our friends!

i¡Claro! A strawberry horchata stand!

i¡Muy buena idea! Adiós, granitos de arroz.

[both]: i¡Ciao, bacalao!

Crystal, guess what?

We're gonna make a strawberry horchata stand!

For all of our neighbors.

Wanna help us?

Me? Help with an horchata stand?

Hmm...

We'll need a table, and cups, and balloons,

because what's a strawberry horchata stand without balloons?

Gotta have balloons!

Let's set up the horchata stand!

[bright music]

[birds chirping]

[Crystal]: Now this is one creative horchata stand!

Now we can tell everyone about our horchata stand.

Attention, everyone!

Our strawberry horchata stand is now open!

[gasps] Oh no, Javi!

We made a supertastical horchata stand

but we forgot to make horchata!

[gasps]

Never mind!

[Jun]: Hi, Rosie! Hi, Javi!

We heard about the strawberry horchata stand.

You did? How?

Javi just yelled about it.

Oops.

Stay right there, Jun and Quinn.

We just have to make the horchata

and then we'll be right back!

Crystal! We need your help again!

Okay, we need rice milk.

Got it!

Cinnamon and sugar.

i¡Aquí están!

And I'll get the strawberries!

[gasps]

¿Qué pasa, calabaza?

Nada, empanada.

Papá! Where are the strawberries?

Bueno, I saw these beautiful strawberries

just sitting there, so...

I ate them.

You ate them?

Well, not all of them.

Iggy ate some, too.

And Lote!

But we needed strawberries for our strawberry horchata stand!

[Javi]: We have customers waiting! Two of them!

Actually, I count five.

i¡Ay no!

Rosie's Rule: Two customers can change

into five customers very quickly.

Lo siento.

I ate the strawberries,

but we can go to the grocery store and get more.

Gracias, Papá. i¡Vamos!

You gonna leave me here with five customers?

Don't worry, Javi. I've got an idea.

[insects buzzing]

[Crystal]: Everyone? The strawberry horchata stand

will be ready soon. But while you wait,

here's a little duet from Crystal and Javi!

A-one. A-two. A-one, two, three, four.

[joyful music]

We'll be back soon with the strawberries!

Hurray! We're at the grocery store!

Hmm. Strawberries, where are you?

No. Not there.

[Papá]: Mija, we need to find the right section.

-Section? -Sí.

The grocery store is set up in sections.

Each section has things that are alike,

so it's easy for customers to find what they need.

Milk, cheese, yogurt.

This is the dairy section.

OÓrale.

Hmm. Cereal, oatmeal, granola,

this is the yum-mazing breakfast section!

Ah-ha! We found the produce section!

We don't need produce, Papá.

We need strawberries!

The produce section is where we find

fresh vegetables and fruits.

Interesante...

Hmm... Well, strawberries are a fruit,

so they should be over here with the other fruits.

[phone ringing]

[Javi]: Prima, are you almost back?

There's even more neighbors now.

And they're all very thirsty.

Sí, primo! We're in the produce section right now.

What's produce?

I'll tell you all about it.

But right now, I've gotta look for strawberries.

[gasps] There's the strawberry sign!

Finally we found the yummy in my tummy...

[gasps]

No strawberries!

Hi, Mr. Fuentes. Hi, Rosie.

Oh, is everything okay?

Hi, Hazel. Actually,

we were hoping to buy some strawberries.

But the strawberries are gone! See?

[Rosie]: Not. One. Single. Strawberry. Here.

Ohh. I'm sorry, Rosie.

Well, we had a strawberry sale today and, oh-ho!

What do you know? We sold out.

Sold out?!

But we have so many neighbors waiting

for our dee-yummy strawberry horchata,

and they're all so hot and thirsty and--

[sighs]

I need to flop.

Breathe in... [inhales]

Now I'm ready to figure this out.

Vamos a ver!

[truck beeping]

What's that truck doing here?

It's delivering food to the grocery store.

But the grocery store already has food.

That's true. But all the food in the grocery store

comes from somewhere else first.

Well, that's new information!

Where does it come from?

[Hazel]: All different places.

Come on, I'll show you.

See this truck?

It's delivering eggs from the barn!

The barn? That's wow-mazing!

[sniffing] Mmm!

I smell something dee-yummy.

That must be the bread.

This truck delivers bread every day from the bakery.

Mama Macaroni!

[gasps] Did you say macaroni?

That's this truck right here.

It's delivering macaroni from the pasta factory!

I guess you could say grocery stores go shopping too.

[giggles]

What's in that truck?

[both]: Strawberries!

Fresh from the strawberry farm!

♪ Everything at the grocery store ♪

♪ Comes from somewhere else before ♪

♪ Yum-mazing foods for me and you ♪

♪ The store has to shop for them too ♪

♪ Pasta and bread don't go poof on the shelf ♪

♪ They're made at a factory that's somewhere else ♪

♪ Carrots and strawberries, apples and more ♪

♪ The farm grows them first then off to the store ♪

♪ Everything at the grocery store ♪

♪ Comes from somewhere else before ♪

♪ Yum-mazing foods for me and you ♪

♪ The store has to shop for them too ♪

♪ The store has to go and shop for them too ♪

[beeping]

[Hazel]: There you go!

[chiming]

[Abuela]: i¡Hola, Rosalía!

i¡Hola, Abuela! Whoa!

Oof! ¿Qué pasa?

I'm taking care of my friend Vero's cat Bigotes for the day.

And he really needs something, but I don't know what it is.

¿Ya ves?

Hmm...

Maybe Bigotes wants a treat.

A treat? I'll try it.

Mira, Bigotes. A yummy treat!

[sniffing]

[meowing]

He doesn't want a treat.

Hmm...

Ooh! Maybe he wants to play?

That must be it.

[meowing]
