Leo: We live in a big, beautiful world.

I'm Leo.

I'm Andy.

And I'm Carmen.

Our parents work in a circus that travels

all around the world and we travel with them.

Andy: So we never know where in the world

we will end up next.

(train whistling)

Carmen: But wherever we go, we know that

Luna the Moon will be there with us.

Carmen: Boomin' Boomerang.

Honey: Whee!!

Honey: Whee!

Andy: Aww.

Andy/Leo:(panting)

Carmen: Honey, you should be in your cage

not flying around on this, thingy.

Honey: I'm sorry.

Leo: That's not just a thingy Carmen.

It's a special Australian thingy.

Carmen: How do you know that Leo?

Leo: Because today we're in my hometown of

Sydney, Australia.

Yep, what we have here is... a boomerang!

Honey: What's a boomerang?

Leo: Well- Andy: Let's ask the Magic Globe.

Leo: Okay.

Carmen: Hi Magic Globe.

Magic Globe: Hi everyone, like Leo said,

we are in the city of Sydney, Australia,

where most of the people speak English.

The Australian people have many old different traditions.

One of which is the boomerang.

Traditionally, a boomerang is a long wooden tool

with a unique shape.

It is thrown a special way so that after a while

it turns around and comes back to you.

Andy: So cool!

Magic Globe: It is cool, friends.

The boomerang is, wow!

What was that?

Whoa, get me outta here!

Carmen: Where did all these boomerangs come from?

Follow that boomerang!

Let's go.

Carmen: (panting)

Oof!

Honey: Oh.

Kids: Luna!

Luna: Hi friends.

Welcome to Sydney, Australia.



Carmen/Honey: ♪ Luna come and play ♪

Leo: ♪ Luna's here what do ya say ♪

Andy: ♪ Luna bright as day ♪

Kids: ♪ Show us the world ♪

♪ Lead the way ♪

Carmen: Luna, are those all your boomerangs?

Luna: These, oh no, I'm just holding them

for my boomerang throwing friends.

Fin, Auggie, catch!

Fin: Ha ha, cheers Luna.

Kids: Wow!

Luna: Meet my friends Fin and Auggie.

Andy: So cool!

Fin: It is pretty cool mate.

This here's one of our prize boomerangs.

Andy: Hi, I'm Andy.

What's that you're eating, Auggie?

Auggie: Oh this, it's Boomymite Spread.

Oh it can only be found here in Australia.

Um, I've been eating it all day.

Andy: Yummy!

Luna: Good to see you Fin.

These are my friends Carmen and Leo.

Honey: And Honey.

Fin: Hello mates, we've been practicing for the

Sydney Boomy Toss competition.

The winning team gets the title of

Best Boomerangers in Australia.

Not to mention the world famous Boomy Toss trophy.

Oh ain't she a beauty?

Today's the last day of competition mates.

Just Auggie and I versus

(booming)

the Brawn Brothers.

But I wouldn't worry about them.

Auggie and I are the best.

Leo: You know I used to throw the boomerang myself, Fin.

I'm from Australia too.

Fin: Ha, ha, ha, welcome home mate.

Leo: Why don't you give her a whirl?

Don't mind if I do.

Ready, aim, boomerang.

(splat)

Leo: Hmmm, remind me how to make it come back again?

Carmen: (laughing)

It won't come back after it's hit the ground, Leo.

Luna: Hey why don't you try Carmen?

Carmen: Me, uh no thanks.

I'm more of a musician than an athlete.

Luna: Well it's up to you but you never know

what you can accomplish with just a little confidence.

Honey: What's confidence?

Luna: Confidence is believing in yourself, Honey.

Honey: Have confidence, Carmen.

Fin: Well,

I understand why you'd be a little scared, Carmen.

After all you'd be throwing in front of a professional.

As in me. Heh heh.

It takes years of practice to become as good

as one of the boomin' boomerang boys.

I think everyone would understand if you...

(swishing)

Fin: Well, crickin' good toss there Carmen.

Ah, trouble is though, you've gotta get it

to come back.

Carmen: Gotcha! Hey that was fun.

Fin: Fun?! Carmen that was amazing!

Oh ho! You're definitely a natural.

Luna: Yeah, Carmen, I think you have the gift.

Carmen: Thanks guys, I guess I am pretty good at boomerangs.

(moaning)

Andy: Oh no, Auggie, speak to me.

(grunt)

Fin: Auggie, mate, are you all right?

Auggie: Bellyache.

Too much...Boomymite Spread.

Fin: Ah not again, this happened before.

Auggie we can't b*at the Brawn Brothers

if you have a bellyache.

Auggie: (groaning)

Auggie: I can still throw.

Fin: Oh no, how on Earth will we...

Carmen, can you fill in for Auggie at the

Boomy Toss competition?

Carmen: Fill in for Auggie?

But I've only just started throwing the boomerang.

Fin: But you're the best I've ever seen, Carmen.

Better than Auggie is without a bellyache.

Auggie: I heard that.

Please Carmen, without you we'll never win the tournament.

Carmen: I do really like the boomerang, but

all those people watching.

Fin: Ah there aren't that many.

Carmen: But didn't you mention Brawn Brothers?

Fin: Minor obstacles.

Honey: You can do it, Carmen.

Carmen: Well, I guess it would be fun to be in the

real boomerang competition. Okay, I'll do it.

Fin: Yes!

That trophy is as good as ours.

See you at the competition.

All right there Auggie, no more Boomymite for a while.

Auggie: (groaning)

Ted: You're watching live coverage

of Sydney's very own annual Boomie Toss competition.

Welcome boomerang fans.

I'm Too Tight t-shirt Ted.

I'm here live at the tourney grounds as we prepare

for the final toss.

Today's final is between the Boomin' Boomerangs,

Auggie and Fin and the Brawn Brothers, Crispy and Jumbo.

Wait a minute, we're just getting word that Fin's

Boomymite loving brother, Auggie will be replaced

by a newcomer, a young lady by the name of Carmen.

Their competitors, the Brawn Brothers, Jumbo and Crispy

are not gonna like that.

Crispy: Hey Fin, I didn't know you're babysitting newbies now.

Fin: She's no newbie.

This one's got a knack, you'll see.

Crispy: A knack, more like a lack.

Jumbo: Ha, ha, yeah a lack.

Ha, ha, was I good?

Carmen: Maybe they're right, I've never done this before.

I shouldn't be competing in the finals.

Fin: Oh don't listen to them.

All you need is a little confidence

and you'll do just fine.

Carmen: (sigh) Yeah, confidence.

Luna: Just have fun with it.

I'll be cheering you on with Andy and Leo from the stands.

Carmen: Okay, I'll try, thanks Luna.

Luna: That's the spirit.

(clock ticking)

Ted: It's been quite a competition so far.

Solid throws by the Brawn Brothers.

(cheering) Crispy: Yeeha!

Ted: Come on guys.

Ted: Fin, throwing next, concentrating.

Partner Carmen looking on.

Looks like he's got it all lined up.

Wind up and there it goes.

Crispy: Ha, ha, you don't stand a chance.

Jumbo: Ha ha, yeah, no chance.

Crispy: Hey, let me hold the trophy.

Jumbo: No I wanna hold it, ouch!

Fin: We gotta make this throw count Carmen.

Ted: It's all up to Fin's partner, newbie Carmen.

She's gonna need to make a corker of a throw

to win the championship.

Doesn't look like she's got the confidence for that.

Luna: Time out!

(whistle blows) Luna: Carmen what's wrong?

Carmen: I don't know, Luna.

I just don't feel I can do this.

Those Brawn Brothers are so good,

and I'm so new.

I've lost all my confidence.

Sorry Fin.

Luna: It's okay Carmen, but I know you had it before,

it's all boomerang theory.

Carmen: Boomerang theory?

Luna: Yeah, you know confidence can be a bit like a boomerang.

Sometimes it flies away but it can always come

right back when you need it.

And you need it now.

Luna: ♪ Boom boom boom boom boomerang ♪

♪ Boom boom boom boom boom boomerang ♪

♪ My boomerang always comes back ♪

(piano keys)

♪ So if you lost your boldness and nerve ♪

♪ If you feel life has thrown you a curve ♪

Carmen: ♪ It's boomeranging back to me ♪

Luna: You won't know if it will ever come back

until you give it a try, Carmen.

Carmen: Thanks Luna.

Ted: Wait a minute, viewers.

For a minute there, I thought we were counting

newbie Carmen out, but it seems like she's got

a renewed sense of confidence.

Carmen: Confidence.

Ted: She's staring down her target.

Winding up and there it goes.

Wow, it's totally gone.

Ah, there it goes past Senor Fabuloso's Circle,

past the Opera House, oh my gosh,

Carmen's boomerang has left Australia entirely.

Out past the Great Barrier Reef.

Sharks: Banza rip, Carmen.

Ted: Okay, that's it viewers,

we've lost picture on that throw.

Remember viewers, if the throw doesn't come back

it doesn't count for The Booming Boomerangs.

That means the Brawn Brothers win.

Jumbo: Ah! We won? Crispy: (cheering)

Jumbo/Crispy: We won!!

HA!

(laughter)

(whirring)

Luna: Wait, what's that?

Andy: It's the boomerang!

Fin/Carmen: It's coming back!

Carmen: Yeah! (audience applause)

(audience applause)

Sharks: Yeah, Carmen!

Fish: Yeah, Carmen!

Carmen: Well, I couldn't have done it without Luna.

Luna: You just needed your confidence to come flying back.

Auggie: Great throws, mate.

(rumbling) Auggie: Ohh..

Andy: Great throw Carmen.

Carmen: Thanks guys and thanks Luna.

Luna, Luna?

Luna: Up here Carmen.

Carmen: I can't help but think there's more to learn

about Sydney than it's boomerang competitions.

Luna: There's always more to learn about any place we visit.

But remember, there's always tomorrow.

(whistling theme music)



Leo: Hey, it's Leo with a folktale from Australia.

Once a songbird was singing by a stream.

She was a good singer and could even sound like other birds.

The pigeon, the bell bird and even the kookaburra.

Suddenly the bird saw some bubbles in the water.

And out popped the frog.

The frog didn't know how to sing,

so the bird gave him lessons.

The bird was a good teacher and soon,

the frog sang even better than she did.

♪ La, la, la, la. ♪

Leo: But the frog got very full of himself.

He didn't thank the songbird for teaching him

and instead boasted <span> ,

my voice is so beautiful even the moon will agree

that I am the greatest singer in the world <span> .

The frog took a deep breath and sang to the moon.

He not only sang like a pigeon, a bell bird

and a very loud kookaburra, he even sang

like the sounds of nature.

Wind, rain, lightning and thunder.

But the moon must have been sleeping

because she didn't even notice the frog.

Frustrated the frog sang the loudest note

in the history of notes.

♪ La! ♪

Leo: And that's when his voice gave out <span> .

He tried to sing once more,

but all he made was an embarrassing croak.

And ever since that day all the frogs come out

of the water at night,

look up at the moon and croak, croak, croak.

The end.

Andy: House Music.

(grunting)

Mr. Salami: ..

Mr. Salami: . Kids: (cheering)

Carmen: Keep it up and you'll b*at your personal record.

Andy: Yeah, channel the music into your pure strength.

Let's crank it up.

Sorry, wrong dial, I meant to change the volume.

♪ Andy my boy... ♪

Andy: What, Andy my boy?

♪ That's Andy my boy... ♪ Carmen: Hey the song changed

Leo: You know, it almost sounds like they're saying...

Andy: Guys, guys, do you hear that?

They said Andy, Andy my boy!

Huh? (static)

Mr. Salami: Not a very good workout song.

Mr. Salami: Woah! Leo: Whoa, Mr. Salami.

Turn it back to the song.

Ted: Hello, hello mates

Leo: Syd and the Sydney's?

Andy: Shh.

Ted: Now listen up folks because they'll

be playing at the Sydney Opera House tonight.

I repeat, tonight.

Andy: You hear that?

Syd and the Sydney's are...

Mr. Salami: Uh hum...

Andy: Sorry, here's your radio back.

Andy: Syd and the Sydney's are playing at the

Sydney Opera House.

Quick guys let's go to the...

Wait, where's Sydney?

Leo: That's where we are right now.

Where I grew up, Sydney, Australia.

Right Magic Globe?

Magic Globe: That's right Leo, G'day everyone.

Leo is right, today you're in the city of Sydney.

Located in the country of Australia.

And on the edge of the city sits one of

the most famous buildings in the world,

the Sydney Opera House.

Musicians from all over the world

perform in this unique building.

But even though it's called the Opera House

there's more than opera music there.

In fact they have performances of all kinds.

I know you'll enjoy Syd and the Sydney's, Andy.

I just love that band.

Carmen: Thank you Magic Globe.

Andy: All right, you've heard the lady.

Syd and the Sydney's at the Sydney Opera House.

Yeah, let's go.

Andy: Are you sure this is the way?

I don't see any big opera anything.

Leo: No, no, we're close.

Carmen: Wait, do you hear that?

Kids: ♪ Luna, Luna, Luna ♪

Carmen: ♪ Luna come and play ♪

Leo: ♪ Luna's here, what do ya say ♪

Andy: ♪ Luna bright as day ♪

All: ♪ Show us the world ♪

♪ Lead the way ♪

Bazzle: Whoa that was some wicked singing, guys.

Andy: Thanks! It was inspired by 'Andy My Boy.'

You know, by Syd and the Sydney's,

do you know them?

Bazzle: Well, I think I might have heard of them, yeah.

Luna: Welcome to Sydney, Australia everyone.

This here is my old friend Bazzle.

Bazzle: 'Sup mates. Nice to meet ya.

Luna: We were just having a little jam like we always do.

What are you kids up to today?

Leo: We're on our way to the Sydney Opera House,

but it's been a long time since I've been

and I can't remember where it is.

Andy: And we've gotta see Syd and the Sydney's.

Luna: What, Syd and the Sydney's?

Oh my, I love them!

I have all their music, eeeeee!

Andy/Luna: (laughing and shrieking)

Bazzle: Tell you what guys, I'm a musician

and I'm headed to the opera house right now.

I'll take you there.

Andy: (gasps) You will?! Thanks!

Leo: Wait, you're a musician?

Like Syd and the Sydney's?

Bazzle: Well, something like that.

Andy: Well what are we waiting for?

Where is this opera house anyway?

Bazzle: Right over there.

Kids: Wow.

Andy: Wait, isn't that just a boat with sails?

Luna: That's what a lot of people think

when they first see it since it sits right by the harbor

but those sail shapes are actually the roof

of the Sydney Opera House,

designed by Jorn Utzon, a great architect.

Andy: Architect? I don't know what that is.

Bazzle: Allow me to explain little frog.

An architect is someone who designs buildings.

Of course, many people work to build the building

but it's the architect who comes up with the idea

of what it will look like.

Andy: So an architect is like an artist

and the Sydney Opera House is like a work of art.

Bazzle: Too right.

No other Opera House in the world looks like it.

Andy: Which means the song 'Andy My Boy'

is gonna be played in a work of art.

Awesome, come on everyone!

No time to waste.

Bazzle: Welcome to the Sydney Opera House.

Britt: G'day Bazz.

Bazzle: Hi ya Britt, these cats are with me.

Just showing the around.

Britt: Enjoy the tour.

Andy: Wow, it looks great on the inside too.

Bazzle: Architects put care into designing buildings

inside and out.

Andy: Whoo, what's in here?

I hear music!

Bazzle: That's the concert hall.

Wanna take a look?

(classical cello music playing)



(audience applause)

Kids: Woah Bazzle: Pretty cool, huh?

Carmen: What a beautiful place to put on a show.

Andy: But that wasn't Syd and the Sydney's.

Are we in the wrong place?

I really wanna hear that Andy song again.

Bazzle: Right building, wrong performance space.

I can't remember which theater Syd is supposed to

be playing in.

Andy: You mean there's more than one?

Bazzle: More than one? Andy my boy, there are seven

permanent performance spaces in the

Sydney Opera House, plus lots of other areas

that can be set up for a show.

Andy: Well what are we waiting for?

Let's keep looking!

Carmen: Hey, a ballet.

(ballet music)

Luna: Rock and roll, whoo!

(rock and roll music)

"Ta da!"

Leo: A magician!

(laughter) Andy: Comedy show!

(splat) (audience laughter)

Um, prop comedy.

Bazzle: Well, what do you know? Opera at the opera house.

(opera music)



Carmen: What a cool place!

It's perfect for all kinds of performances.

Luna: The opera house is one of the most famous buildings

in the world.

Andy: But what about Syd and the Sydney's?

Bazzle: I gotta be honest, this place is so big

I've gotten completely lost.

I know Syd and the Sydney's are supposed to play,

but I don't know where.

Andy: Aw man, then we'll never hear that song again.

♪ Andy My Boy. ♪

Britt: There you are, where've you been?

Your band goes on in five minutes.

Luna: Bazzle, you're performing here tonight?

Bazzle: Seems that way, guess I got a bit carried away,

giving my friends a tour.

Where are we playing again?

Britt: The Four Court.

We've got you set up outside.

Bazzle: Well I guess this is where we part ways.

Sorry I got us lost.

Wish I could make it up to you somehow.

Luna: Well we'd love to hear you play.

Bazzle: Bonza!

Britt, can we get these guys front row seats

for my show tonight?

Britt: Yes, anything, but we have to go now.

Come on g*ng, let's boogie.

Andy: But what about Syd and the Sydney's?

Carmen: This is amazing, a show under the stars

at the Sydney Opera House.

Andy: It's cool and all, but I really wanted to see

Syd and the Sydney's.

Luna: Look on the bright side Andy,

you made a new friend today and you've got

front row seats to see them perform.

Andy: Yeah I guess you're right.

I'll try to have fun.

(audience applause)

Bazzle: Thank you, thank you!

Bazzle: It is, Syd is my stage name.

I only use it when I perform.

Andy: Thanks for introducing us to Syd, I mean Bazzle.

It was so nice of him to give us a tour

of the Sydney Opera House.

I never knew how much goes into designing a building.

Maybe I could be an architect when I grow up.

Luna: (laughs) You love art, I think architect

would be a great job for you.

Andy: Yeah, but I guess I have a lot to learn

before that happens.

Luna: Every day is an opportunity

to learn something new.

Today may be over, but don't worry.

There's always tomorrow.
