Hi, everyone!

Today we are in Buenos Aires,

located in the country of Argentina,

right here on the continent of South America!

Buenos Aires and Argentina

are known for many things,

but one of their most

entertaining contributions is the art of

dancing the Tango!

Tango developed over the years

as people from other countries arrived

and made their home in this wonderful city.

They brought all kinds of music and dance,

which blended together to make

Argentina's very own tango.

Hello?

Leo: Hi, it's Leo with a folktale from Argentina

called 'The Toad's Spots.'

Long, long ago,

Toad heard about a dance party

the birds were planning to have up in the clouds.

Birds: [squawking]

Leo: Toad wished he could go,

but not only hadn't he been invited,

he had no way to get up there.

He knew how to hop, but not that high.

Crow: Tu-tu-du-ti-dee!

Leo: He saw Crow getting ready to go to the party,

and snuck inside his guitar.

So, when Crow flew off to the party,

Toad secretly rode along with him.

Well, Crow started playing his guitar

and the birds began to dance.

Toad tried hard to stay out of sight,

but he found the music irresistible.

Toad: Uaaaa!

Leo: He leaped out of the guitar,

and started dancing.

and as you know,

toads are pretty wacky dancers.

The birds were so surprised,

they screamed and squawked

at the top of their lungs.

Toad was so surprised,

he hopped right off the cloud and fell to Earth.

Luckily, Toad survived the fall,

but the small rocks he landed on

left him with bumps and bruises

all over his body,

that turned into spots.

Nevertheless, Toad likes to dance to this very day.
