Daisy: Niagara Falls

Squeeks/Hal: (laughing)

Nature Cat: Huh?

Hal: (laughing)

Nature Cat: Here's one, number on my Nature Curiosity List,

"Can a crocodile really rock?"

Daisy: Ooh! How about ?

Why does a stinkbug stink?

Squeeks: Uh, hard pass.

Hal: I'm with Squeeks.

And I like stinky as much as the next dog, ask anyone, baby.

Squeeks: Hup!

Hal: Oops. Sorry, Squeeks!

And Harold!

Squeeks: Hm. Hey, Nature Cat!

Uh, here's something for your Nature Curiosity List.

Where'd this cute little waterfall come from?

Hal: Hm... It's coming from there! Look!

Rainwater down the pipe...over this rock...

and it's in the hole!

Daisy: Whoa whoa whoa wait!

Speaking of waterfalls, there's one on your Curiosity List.

Nature Cat: Oh, you must be mistaken, Daisy.

Daisy: I don't think so, Nature Cat.

I'm pretty sure I saw one...

Nature Cat: There is absolutely for sure nothing about

waterfalls on my list.

Daisy: Waterfalls! Here it is! Number three!

Nature Cat: What? How did that get on my list?!

This must be a mistake...

Daisy: What would it be like to stand next to Niagara Falls?

Hal: Niagara Falls!

You mean the Niagara Falls!

The one that starts with Niagara and ends with Falls?!

Oh I've always wanted to go to Niagara Falls,

but just one question! What's Niagara Falls?

Daisy: Oh Hal, it's just the most amazing,

most famous three waterfalls in the world of waterfalls.

Squeeks: Oh baby, we gotta go there!

Count the mouse in!

Daisy: Man-oh-man, let's go now!

Hal: What she said and what she said!

Nature Cat: Yes! Right! Amazing plan!

But might I suggest just a little wrinkle in the plan...

I'm out!

Daisy/Hal/Squeeks: What? Why?!

Nature Cat: I'm not going!

Squeeks: Natche, buddy,

why don't you wanna go to Niagara Falls with us?

Nature Cat: Water, why does it have to be water?

And we are talking about a lot of water!

Daisy: Well, Nature Cat does have a point.

Niagara Falls sure has a lot of water.

Nature Cat: Sure does!

Water falling, water spraying, water everywhere!

I'll get totally soaked!

I'm out, see ya!

Hal: But we'll protect you, Nature Cat!

Squeeks: We sure will!

(screech)

Nature Cat: You will?

Daisy: Of course!

Daisy: We'll keep you nice and dry with this.

Squeeks: And if any water does get on you,

we will soak it up with this.

Hal: And keep you warm and toasty with this.

Hal: Oooh-oooh-oooh!

Hal: Oh that's nice!

Nature Cat: You would do all that for me?

(chokes up)

Squeeks: Of course, Nature Cat!

Squeeks: See? Dry as my Granddaddy's scalp.

Daisy: C'mon, Nature Cat.

It's time to find out what it's like to stand next

to Niagara Falls.

Nature Cat: Okay, I'll go!

But...do you have a bigger umbrella?

Daisy: I sure do!

Nature Cat: I'm in!

I never thought I would ever say this, but...

Onward to Niagara Fallsward!

Daisy: And I need to make a call!

Houston we need a favor!

Houston: What can I do you for, ma'am?

Squeeks: Whoa!

Is that where we see Niagara Falls?

Houston: No, ma'am. We're looking at

one of the Great Lakes. That is Lake Erie.

Hal: Um...what makes these Lakes so great, Houston?

(whispers) No offense Lakes, sorry.

Houston: First of all, there are five of them.

Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron,

Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.

And they're some of the largest lakes in the WORRRLD!

Hal: Wow! Sounds pretty great to me.

You go, Great Lakes, you go! Woo!

Daisy: Take a look, Nature Cat.

Nature Cat: I will... Did you remember the umbrella?

Daisy: Umbrella!

Nature Cat: Sponge? Squeeks: Sponge!

Nature Cat: Warm and toasty towel?

Hal: Warm and toasty towel is still warm and toasty,

and all at the same time!

Nature Cat: Okay.

Nature Cat: Yep, that lake is Great all right.

Great and watery.

Nature Cat: Really watery.

Daisy: Huh. I wonder what made such a big lake?

Houston: Ice, ma'am!

Years ago giant sheets of ice carved up the land

and created the Great Lakes.

When the ice melted,

it unleashed huuuuuge amounts of water.

Hal: Wait so then why didn't they call them the Huge Lakes?

I'm just sayin...

Houston: A fair question, Hal. Oh look! The Niagara River!

Houston: Check it out, that is the United States side,

and that is the Canada side.

Squeeks: Niagara Falls, here we come!

Nature Cat: So much water...(gulp)!

Houston: Not to worry, Sir. We've got you covered!

Daisy: Umbrella!

Squeeks: Sponge!

Hal: And the warm and toasty towel!

Daisy: Whoa.

Looks like the river's going downhill.

Houston: Affirmative, ma'am.

Squeeks: And the water's going faster and faster

over those rocks.

Houston: Copy that, Squeeks.

That is precisely why they call them rapids!

Houston: Hey look, we're almost there!

g*ng: (gasps)

Squeeks: Get ready, Nature Cat!

Daisy: Time for Number on your Nature Curiosity List...

Hal: We're gonna to stand next to Niagara Falls!

Nature Cat: (gulp)

Nature Cat: Now?

Houston: Niagara Falls coming up!

Nature Cat: Ahhhhhhh!

Hal: Ohh! There, there, Nature Cat.

You are safe and warm and toasty!

Nature Cat: Mmm! Thank you, Hal.

Hal: Mmwah! No problem, little buddy.

Houston: Prepare for landing!

Daisy: Whoa!

Those glaciers really dug a big hole here

when they made the falls.

Nature Cat: Okay, a lovely sight.

Majestic. Awe-inspiring.

Can we go home now?

Daisy: Not yet, Nature Cat.

While we can see Niagara Falls,

we're not standing beside them.

Houston: That, ma'am, will change shortly.

We are about to become one with the Falls.

Nature Cat: Um... that's not on my list.

Squeeks: Don't worry, Natche. We've got your back.

Hal: I've got your front! And possibly a side.

Maybe both sides! I don't know...

Houston: Behold! The magnificence of nature!

Nature Cat: WATER!

Hal: Woah! It's even more beautiful than I imagined.

Nature Cat: Mmmmmm...

Nature Cat: (sigh) It is kind of amazing!

Squeeks: That's a lot of waterfalls.

Which one's Niagara?

Houston: All three of them, Squeeks.

Houston: Together all three make up Niagara Falls.

Houston: You've got American Falls...

Bridal Veil Falls

and Horseshoe Falls.

Which is in Canada, by the way...

Nature Cat: I can't believe how tall they are!

Hal: Whoa!

Taller than some of those huge buildings in the city!

Nature Cat: WATER! I felt water!

Squeeks: Water? Where? Nature Cat: There!

Hal: All warm! And toasty!

Daisy: So, where do we go to stand

right next to Niagara Falls?

Houston: That would be the Hurricane Deck

at Bridal Veil Falls, ma'am.

Nature Cat: Ah ha ha ha. Very funny. Ha Ha!

I thought you said the Hurricane Deck.

(more laughter)

Houston: Affirmative, sir.

Nature Cat: Mother!

Nature Cat: Uh, are we there yet?

Houston: Almost, Nature Cat.

The Hurricane Deck is in front of the Falls.

Nature Cat: Did you say... in front of the falls?

Houston: Affirmative, sir.

If you want to know what it is like to stand next to

Niagara Falls, that is the place to be!

(trembles)

Hal/Daisy/Squeeks: WEEEEEEE!

Nature Cat: WATER!

Squeeks: Ugh. Where is it?

Nature Cat: A drop! Here!

And another here! It's terrible!

Squeeks: Okay, don't panic! Nobody move.

Okay..okay go it!

Hal: Warm and toasty! Dip dipdip!

And warm and toasty!

Nature Cat: Ah! You guys really know

how to take care of a Nature Cat!

Houston: Hurricane Deck, this way, please...

we are going to stand before the Bridal Veil Falls...

Squeeks: WHOA IT SURE IS NOISY IN HERE, HUH?!

Daisy: AND WINDY!

Houston: The Hurricane Deck awaits!

Nature Cat: I know I already said it in this episode,

but it bears repeating!

Why does it have to be water?

And so much water?!

Squeek: Come on, Nature Cat... Daisy...you can do this!

Nature Cat: I...I... I don't think I can.

Hal: Yes, you can!

You've done way harder things then this.

Nature Cat: I have?

Squeeks: Sure you have!

Like, oh, remember the time you ski jumped?

Daisy: And rode the rapids?

Hal: (laughs) And I love that episode

when you helped me find Chewinsky

who was lost and all alone in the middle of the ocean!

That one got great ratings!

Houston: If I may say so, bravery suits you, sir.

Nature Cat: You're right, I can do this!

I, Nature Cat, can do this! No, I can't!

No, I can't do this! Who am I kidding!?

Yes I can. No I can't.

I can! I can't!

You just need to find your courage!

Yes, courage. Here it is.

And there it went. Courage is definitely gone!

Courage is back! I-can-do-this.

For my Curiosity List! For adventure!

FOR NATURE!

Daisy: Nature Cat?!

Are you okay!?

Squeeks: Nature Cat?!

Permission to approach with a sponge!

We're gonna get you dried up, okay?

Hal: Oh no! Nature Cat?

Are you okay?! Say something!

Speak to me! Please!

Nature Cat: This...is...AWESOME!

Look!

Squeeks: Whoa, baby! Daisy: Man-oh-man!

Hal: It's beautiful!

Nature Cat: Ha! Hearing the roaring wind,

feeling the cool fresh water,

this is all the most amazing nature experience

I've ever had!

Daisy: So, uh, Nature Cat, I guess you like standing

next to Niagara Falls?

Nature Cat: I LOVE IT!

I love these Niagara Falls!

Hal: We all do too too also also!!!

g*ng: (cheers)

Nature Cat: Niagara Falls...check!

Nature Cat: Thank you, one and all.

I couldn't have done this nature adventure without you.

Nature Cat: And goodbye to you, Niagara Falls!

Until we meet again!

Nature Cat: Au revoir!

Daisy: Nature Plant

Squeeks: You can't Nature-Tag me, Nature Cat!

Nature Cat: Oh yes I can!

Oof!

Told ya!

Hal: (laughing)

Nature Cat: Ooh!

Nature Cat: I Nature-Tagged you, Hal!

Now you have to do something Nature-rific.

Hal: Please let it be dig a hole, baby!

Please let it be dig a hole, baby!

Nature Cat: Dig a hole!

Hal: YESSSSS!

Hal: Tah-dee!

Nature Cat: Nature-Tagged you, Daisy!

Nature Cat: Feel free to climb a tree!

Daisy: On it!

Squeeks: Huh.

Looks like it's just you and me, buddy.

Shall I provide a soundtrack for this moment?

(Squeeks vocalizes western outlaw music)

Squeeks: (laughing)

Huh?

Hm?

Nature Cat: Gotcha! Squeeks: Ah! Oh!

Squeeks: Oh boy! Well played, my friend.

Well played. Okay!

What's my nature-rific task?

Nature Cat: Um... Ooh! Skip a stone!

Squeeks: Oh I love that!

Woo!

They don't call me Skippin' Squeeks for nothing. Huh.

They don't call me Skippin' Squeeks at all.

No one's ever called me that before.

I don't know why I said that.

Nature Cat: What a perfect, sunny day out here in nature!

Daisy: It sure is!

Just feel the sun's warmth on your face!

Daisy: And according to my weather app,

it's going to be sunny all day!

Daisy: Ooh! My phone battery is almost at zero.

I should charge it.

Squeeks: Hold the phone! What's that?

Daisy: Oh this? It's my solar-powered battery charger!

It turns sunlight into electricity to charge my phone!

Squeeks: Wait. Wait.

Let me try to wrap my mind around this.

The sun...does the charging...of the battery?

I'm dizzy!

(grumbling)

Daisy: Ooh. All that running around made me hungry.

(grumbling) Squeeks: Whoa. Me too.

Hal: Me too too also as well.

Daisy: Come on, guys. Let's stop and have a snack

and then we can keep playing.

Mmm!

Squeeks: I'm in. Skippin' Squeeks is hungry...

Eh.. is it catching on? Does anyone like it?

Hal: Wait, remind me why we need to eat now?

Daisy: Hal, food is our fuel, food gives us energy!

Hal: Oh energy! Oh you mean like, energy.

I love that stuff.

I never knew it was all about energy.

But one teeny tiny question about that energy...

what is it...energy?

What would you say it is?

Daisy: Energy is... uh...well...here,

this can tell us...

Narrator: You say you want to know what energy is?

Well, energy makes it possible for something to work,

whether it be a machine, or us, or anything else.

You can't see it, but energy is all around us.

And there are lots of kinds of energy.

Take Daisy's solar battery charger.

That turns light energy from the sun into electric energy

that can charge her phone!

And there is energy in food, too!

Hal: Well, I need more energy so I'm gonna eat!

Daisy: Come on, Nature Cat.

Aren't you hungry?

Nature Cat: Well yes, but... I don't want to stop.

I want to keep playing!

We could play Nature Scavenger Hunt!

Or Nature soccer! Oooh!

We could build a Nature Obstacle Course!

Squeeks: No way, man. It's bean time for me.

Daisy: Like Granny Bunny always says, if you want to run and

play all day, be sure to break for snacks along the way.

Daisy/Squeeks: Oh yeah!

Hal: Come on, Nature Cat. Have a bean!

Nature Cat: Nah. You go ahead. I'll just be over there...

Having the best day ever.

Tally HO!

Squeeks: Okay! I'm nice and full and ready to PLAY!

Daisy: And my battery is fully charged too.

Now let's go play!

Hal: Play! Play! Play! Play! Woo!

Nature Cat: Tally hooooo!

Nature Cat: Hop! Hop! Hop!

Nature Cat: Oh hello there!

Look who's ready to join in the fun.

Hal: Oo! Pick us! Pick us! Please pick us!

I want this so bad!

Daisy/Squeeks/Hal: Weeeee! Woo-hoo!

I'm swinging!

Nature Cat: Well done!

Nature Cat: (yawning)

Uh-oh!

Ah!!

Daisy: Oh, Nature Cat! Are you ok?

Nature Cat: Yes. I'm ok.

I don't know what happened.

I've been swinging on those vines all afternoon.

Why did I miss this time.

Squeeks: Ooo!!! Daisy: Yes!

Hal: Teedee! Squeeks: Oh yeah!

Nature Cat: Ooh! Hal, watch this!

Hal: Oooh. Complicated.

Hal: (laughing)

Nature Cat: (yawns)

Oof!

Squeeks: Nature Cat, what gives?

Hal: Yeah! You're not acting very Nature Catty.

I mean (imitating Nature Cat) you're usually like this!

And now you're kinda like this! It's weird.

Daisy: Maybe you should have had a snack with us.

You might need some food to refuel.

Squeeks: So you're not so tired and clumsy.

Nature Cat: Fine. I'll go have a snack.

Daisy: Oh. Don't worry, Nature Cat.

Once you have a snack, you'll have some more energy

so you can go play again.

Nature Cat: (sigh) I wish I was a plant like you.

You never have to stop and eat.

Daisy: I know, right! They make their own food!

Nature Cat: I wish I could make my own food. (yawn)

Daisy: You can't! But plants can.

It's called photosynthesis, remember?

Daisy: It all starts with the sun...

Daisy: And that's how it all works.

Nature Cat: Huh? What did you say?

Daisy: I was just telling you how photosynthesis works.

But you already know all about it.

Don't you, Nature Plant!

Nature Cat: What did you just call me?

Daisy: I called you your name, Nature Plant!

Nature Cat: I'm... I'm a... Plant?!

Squeeks: Why you're not just any plant.

You're Nature Plant!

Nature Cat: Uh uh. Annnnnd...

none of you think this is strange?

Hal: It's a dream! Nothing is strange in a dream.

Not even this...

(bird chirping)

Nature Cat: Ok. So... What do plants do for fun?

Daisy: You're a green bean plant,

so you grow and make flowers.

Then your flowers make the green beans that hold the seeds

to make more green bean plants.

Nature Cat: Ooh! Look at that.

Squeeks: You are quite impressive, sir.

Hal: But you can still play with us, Nature Plant!

Nature Cat: Sounds good to me.

Tally GROW!

(boing, boing, boing)

Nature Cat: Ahhhh. What a fun day in the sun.

Hal: Here, Nature Plant. Have some water.

Your favorite. Nature Cat: No. Hal!

What are you doing, Hal my pal?

Not water. put the water down. Anything but water!

Daisy: Nature Plant, you're a plant!

And plants need water.

Nature Cat: Oh... right. I am a plant.

Then I guess that's what you do for plants...

you water them. Ick!

Nature Cat: Ok then... Go ahead, Hal. Water me!

Nature Cat: Hey... that's actually nice.

Attention, everyone!

Nature Plant likes water! g*ng: Woohoo!

Nature Cat: Ha! It's good to be a plant!

I can keep growing and playing and making more beans without

stopping to eat for more energy.

Daisy: Nature Plant. You are making food, right now.

Nature Cat: I am, how?!

Daisy: By photosynthesis.

Hal: You keep saying that word: Photosynthesis. Ooh!

Well, now I know why. It's so fun to say!

Pho-to-synthesis! (laughs)

Pho-to-synthesis-s-s-s-s!

(laughs) Nature Cat: Ahhh ha ha!

Nature Cat: What's happening to me?!

Daisy: It's ok, Nature Plant!

Photosynthesis is just how plants make their own food.

Squeeks: Oh, oh, yeah okay well that makes sense.

Cause it's not like a plant can hunt for food or go to the

store for cheese... cheese!

Daisy: I know, right!

Isn't it amazing?

It's like they have their own kitchens in their leaves

and follow a recipe with three ingredients.

Squeeks: Oh! Oh! Um, I know that plants need sunlight.

Is sunlight one of the ingredients?

Daisy: Yep! The plants also need an invisible gas

called carbon dioxide and they need water.

Hal: But how does the plant get these ingredients?

Daisy: Through its leaves and roots!

Plants have tiny holes in their leaves to take in the

carbon dioxide.

Nature Cat: Holes! I don't have any-(gasps)

Squeeks: (gasps) Look at that!

Nature Cat: Well what do you know? Daisy was correct!

I do have tiny holes in my leaves.

Squeeks: Okay but what about the sun's light?

Daisy: Plants absorb that through their leaves too!

Daisy: So since you have all three ingredients,

you can turn the light energy from the sun into sugar.

The sugar is your food.

Nature Cat: Photosynthesis is pretty plant-astic!

I have so much energy! Let's dance!

(funky dance music) ♪♪♪

Daisy: ...and then,

The plant has the sugars it needs to make the beans

that we just ate.

Daisy: It's like magic!

Except science isn't magic.

Everyone knows that.

(rumbling)

Daisy: So what do you think Nature Cat?

Will you eat a snack now?

Nature Cat: What did you call me?

Daisy: I called you your name, Nature Cat.

Nature Cat: I'm a... I'm a... cat again?

I'm not a Nature Plant?

Squeeks: Uh...

you're getting a little loopy, Nature Cat.

And I know all about that.

I reeeeeeally think you should eat something.

Nature Cat: YES! I should!

Nature Cat: I just had the strangest dream.

I was a plant, Nature Plant!

And you were there, and you were there, and you were there.

And I didn't think plants needed to eat,

but it turns out they make their own food, sugar!

And then Hal watered me-and at first I was mad at him but then

I was cool with it...

Hal: Whoa-whoa-whoa! Waitaminute.

I'd never pour water on you, Nature Cat.

Daisy: Yeah - this sounds like a nightmare for you.

Nature Cat: No! I liked it

because plants need water and carbon dioxide

and the sun so they can make their own food.

That's how plants make green beans!

And it's how strawberries and tomatoes and trees and grass

grow, it's all because of photosynthesis!

Squeeks: Wow. So if the plant's food-making starts with the sun

and we eat the plant for food...

Then I guess there's a little sunshine in all of us, huh.

Nature Cat: Right you are, Squeeks.

Right you are.

Nature Cat: Haha! That snack made me feel so much better!

Daisy: Are you ready to play again, Nature Cat?

Nature Cat: You betcha, Daisy!

Tally GROW!

(bird song)

Hal: Wink. Wink.

Narrator: Nature Cat, Squeeks, Daisy, and Hal

To keep all of our animal friends safe,

check with a grown up before you bring a pet
