One-Adam-, handle code .

[SIREN WAILING]

Okay, it's all set.

You can take the black and white today,

-but tomorrow it's your own car. -Fantastic.

Take a black and white where?

Haven't you heard? They're going to helicopter school.

Not school, Woods. We'll be working with them.

How'd you guys swing that?

Jim figured we could understand their problems

better if ground units spent some time up there on a rotation basis.

That way, each guy in the division

can see what they can and can't do

when call for their assistance.

Downtown went for the idea on a trial basis.

And if this turns out, you'll get a turn, too, Brinkman.

You're not gonna get me up there.

What happens when that big fan quits?

No problem. They've got auto rotation.

What?

They have a free-wheeling unit in the top of the transmission

that lets the rotor blades turn under the air pressure as the ship drops.

Where'd you learn that?

I used to work at an airport when I went to high school.

We'd love to stand around and chat all day fellas,

but we have a plane to catch, you understand.

Listen, if you stop anyone for speeding up there,

don't ask him to step out of the vehicle.

And try to get back in one piece, will you?

I need somebody around here to offset the comics.

Officers Reed and Malloy, reporting to Lieutenant...

Malloy, Reed. Boy, it's great to see you guys.

It's been years. What are you doing here?

We're here on the "Get to Know Your Local Chopper" program.

We've never heard you in Air-.

No, I've been flying over Harbor Division.

They like to keep you in a Division you're familiar with,

so you know all the landmarks.

Pardon me, Lieutenant Benson,

these are some of my old ground patrol buddies,

Pete Malloy and Jim Reed.

-Malloy, Reed. -How you doing Lieutenant?

I like your idea, Reed.

It's the kind of program we've been looking for.

-I'm glad you're pushing for it. -Thanks Lieutenant.

I was just assigning Walters to your area.

You can clue him in on some of the changes in the neighborhood.

Will do.

You guys done much flying.

-Yeah, we both have. -Good, good.

Well, just, remember if you get airsick, we've got one rule.

I know. We clean it up.

[CHUCKLES] Right.

Nice to have you aboard. And good luck to you.

-Thank you. -Come on. I'll show you around.

Chet, this is Malloy and Reed.

They're going to fly with us today.
