Flowers.

I've been overthinking this whole "wooing Charlene" thing.

As soon as she opens that box of sunflowers,

Calling about the flowers, eh?

You didn't get them?

You got disco music?

Um, hang on.

Is this the florist?

An elderly woman picked up my flowers

Well, then why did she get disco music?!

What? This sounds like the work

Oh, excuse me, Blossom.

And she's your identical twin sister?!

So that wasn't an old woman in that flower shop at all!

Okay, Blossom, Brian and Isaac are hard at work,

[beeping]

You tracked Le Purr to her hideout?

The Zone?

She has a laser light security system

Good thing I have Talia and Sterling

learning about laser light.

Hi, are you John?

I'm John. Hello, John.

Ruff wants me to teach you guys

a little bit about light.

More specifically, lasers.

JOHN: Let's start out with this tennis ball.

I'm going to put a target on the board,

and I want you guys to stand

where you think the ball is going to go

if I stand here and hit the target. Okay.

[Talia shrieks] Oh!

I guess we could throw tennis balls at Le Purr,

but that really won't disable her security system.

So what are we doing here?

How are you predicting where it's going to go?

TALIA: You hit it, and the angle that it hits the wall at,

is the same angle that it'll come off the wall from.

Nicely done, Talia.

JOHN: What about light?

I'm going to put a mirror here.

Do you think light bounces off things

like a tennis ball would?

No. Yes! No or yes?

Which is it?

The angle to the mirror from me,

is that the same angle to you?Yeah.

So it works both ways.

Light from you is hitting the mirror coming to me.

And the light from me is bouncing to you.

So that means if I can see you in the mirror,

then you can see me, too.

What's that, Blossom?

You say there's a disco ball in Le Purr's hideout?

And they can use it to disable her security system?

Awesome!

The one customer that comes in

every single week, Mrs. Isaacson...

You remembering that, kids? Mrs. Isaacson?

Sounds familiar?

Every single week at this time, she comes in

and she gets-- she has tea.

Good idea, Mark. We'll give her some tea.

The tea has to be exactly degrees

and we measure it by here.

Oh, a thermometer. Nice touch.

She has light toast with white bread,

two half pats of butter.

And most importantly,

on the toast after the butter is spread,

gently and evenly, two...

two hard shakes of cinnamon.

Wow, she is really hard to please.

I hope Isaac can pull this off.

This is our makeup and wardrobe room.

Where the transformation will begin!

This is Heidi. And this is Sue.

Okay, Isaac, here is your dress.

A little bland.

the stockings... Ugh!

and you have a slip to wear.

What's that? A slip? It's kind of like

Great.

This is a European garden.

Isn't that nice? Soak it in.

It's very nice. Brian.

Soak it in.

[exhales]

Uh, let's not overdo it, Mark.

Wouldn't you love to be a florist?

Yes.This is phenomenal. This is what I do.

[mouthing "No."] Ah, come on, Brian.

This is called a snapdragon. You know why? Let me show you.

Here, put your finger really close up there, okay?

What? What?

That's a little florist humor.

I could go on the road with that, couldn't I?

This is what I do, all the time, every day.

Really? Isn't it exciting?

Okay, let's check on Mrs. Isaacson.

Don't move.

We're going to start with the shadow first.

This is good. This is good.

Wow, Isaac! That is unbelievable.

I'll be even Le Purr can't disguise herself that easily.

Right, Blossom?

Oh, she can?

JOHN: Do you think you guys can draw where

Sterling and I were standing, and how the light

reflected off the mirror?Yeah.

Look at that-- the mirror is changing

the direction the light travels.

Talia, what are the angles that we're talking about?

The equal angles would be

these ones.When we measure these,

we draw what's called a "normal line" at the point

where the reflection occurs.

And the angles are measured

to the normal line.

So this angle right here, we would call:

And then, the other angle...

Reflecting! The angle...Reflection.

Hey, that give me an idea.

Maybe they can use mirrors

to reflect light onto the disco ball

and knock out Le Purr's security system.

I think you guys are ready for your first challenge.

It's in locker .

Okay, I've sent them a challenge

to see if they can send light

around a corner. TALIA: It says "open me."

All right, open me.Wait.

"Talia and Sterling, use these two mirrors to hit

the bull's-eye with the beam." Wait, where's the bull's-eye?

The bull's-eye is in my room on the far wall.

Oh, man!

They've got to use mirrors to reflect light

from the hallway back into the classroom.

TALIA: Wait! Okay. JOHN: Go.

I have to get it into your mirror, so you can get it

into the bull's-eye. Look! It's working!

Is it on your mirror?Yeah.

Aim it at the bull's-eye!

They're making the light go around the corner.

All right, I got it.Yes!

They got it! All right, yeah!

Like, this is my life,

dealing with some of these beautiful creatures.

They want some positive feedback.

They want what?So we'll try and sing.

You're gonna what?[Mark vocalizes in falsetto]

What are you doing?

They hear you, man. They hear you, Brian.

I don't want to.Oh, come on.

Open your mouth. We'll just fake it.

[Mark vocalizing in falsetto]

That was great. That was awesome. Yeah.

Hey, let me give that a try.

[vocalizing operatically]

Oh...

Okay, now this feels really awkward.

They are putting the finishing touches on Mrs. Isaacson.

I like my tea a certain way.

So keep it always up here.

Okay? Okay.

Pretty good. Pretty good. I like it.

I'm going to get my flowers back.

[phone ringing]Hello, O'Shea's?

I thought you were supposed to answer the phone with flair?

Hey, John, how are you?

[chuckles]: Okay.

Uh, this is going to be difficult, but, um, okay.

I'll be right there. Bye-bye.

I have to run across town. I'll be back--

no problem-- minutes at the latest, okay?Okay.

So Mark is sneaking out

and leaving Brian alone in the flower shop.

I will be back, okay?

All right, this is going to be hard, Ruff.

Don't worry, Brian.

You're going to be great.

Last touch, the wig.

Excellent! Oh, Mrs. Isaacson!

I think Mrs. Isaacson

is ready to meet the world.

JOHN: So we've seen what happens

when light reflects off a mirror.

The mirror gives you such a perfect reflection,

that you actually will see the image.

Well, hello, you handsome dog.

Most objects, like this board or your shirt,

you won't get such a perfect reflection.

Still looks perfect here.

Some of that light is also absorbed by the object.

And there is one other possibility

where the light may go through the object.

What types of materials

does light travel through?TALIA: Glass.

Glass, yes! Sun comes through the window.

Yeah. Water.Water, absolutely.

Air. Oh, air.

Air. JOHN: Plexiglas. Yeah.

Plexiglas.

Okay, so I have a laser here, which you can see coming out.

Cool.

And you can see it hitting Ruff.

Yes, it is!

What's going on in between?

Air isn't reflective.

What can we put in the air that might be reflective?

Chalk! Chalk dust.

Chalk dust!

Oh, it's like...

Wow! Now you can see it!

TALIA: You can see it.

STERLING: Oh, you can see it, like, moving, too. Wow...

[coughing]

Chalky.

JOHN: Okay, so now I've got the laser

so we can see it on the table a little bit.

I'm going to take this piece of Plexiglas,

which we can see through,

so we know light can go through it.

What do you think's going to happen when I set this down?

I think it'll, like, reflect.

I think it'll be obstructed.

I think it's going to go right through.

All right, let's give it a try.

[Talia gasps] Ah...

It was on Ruff.TALIA: And then it moved.

There is some reflection and then some goes through.

Now, watch this.

That angle changes...TALIA: As you turn it.

It does something called refraction,

which is when light travels through a material

but it changes direction

depending on what angle it goes in at.

The Plexiglas bends the light!

Now, the more he angles that Plexiglas,

the more it will bend the light.

Let's add refraction to our diagram.

If we make the block of Plexiglas,

here's the laser coming in.

It did reflect a little bit

but it also went through

at an angle and this angle is the angle...

TALIA: Of refraction!

Excellent, Talia!
