♪ Wild Kratts!

Martin: On planet Earth,

there are over , mammal species,

including humans!

Hey, it's us, the Kratt Brothers!

Chris: I'm Chris ... Martin: ...I'm Martin

and we're looking for a farm

to find an animal with a lot of wild relatives.

♪♪

Martin/Chris: Goats!

[baaaaa]

Martin: Hey guys!

[laughter]

They're great climbers...

Chris: ...and jumpers!

♪♪

Martin: Look at these eyes!

A goat has rectangular pupils.

And the eyes are on the side of the head to help spot predators.

Chris: Those hooves are so cool.

Two toes and they're really good at grabbing onto uneven surfaces

like this old log.

That's one of the creature powers

that makes them great at climbing.

Martin: They're very agile, they will even play

in trees and on cliffs.

Chris: They're also very curious

and they like to nibble on things like my sweater,

but they nibble really gently.

And now, nibbling on the wood.

Goats are known to eat all kinds of things.

They like to check things out with their mouths.

Martin: What...eh!

I'm not edible!...Hey!

Chris: Whoaa, nice jump!

Oh, but right at the top there's a head-butter.

They kind of play king of the mountain.

They like high spots, and if anybody comes

and encroaches on their high spot,

they give them a head-butt.

Martin: Those little goats have such great agility, huh?

Chris: Yeah, they're great climbers!

Martin: Oh, with those hooves that grab!

Chris: And how 'bout those eyes?

Martin: Oh, they are really cool.

Imagine if we had goat powers!

Martin/Chris: What if?

[zap] ♪♪

♪ On adventure with the coolest creatures ♪

♪ The Brothers Kratt are going places ♪

♪ Get ready it's the hour

Chris: Race to Goat Mountain.

[whooosh!] ♪♪

[thrumming sound] ♪♪

[clickity clack]

♪ [exciting music b*at]

Wow!

Martin/Chris: [gasp] Whoa!

Martin: Uh-oh we have a decision to make.

Chris: Do we explore the Rocky Mountains--?

Martin: --or the Great Plains?

Chris: We could split up and explore bo--

[loud rumble]

♪♪

Martin: What was that?

Koki: A firecracker?

Aviva: Thunder?

Jimmy Z: A smashing boulder?

Chris: We don't know,

but we have to find out.

Martin: Let's go!

♪♪

Martin/Chris: Whoa! Bighorn sheep!

Martin: Ah! We got here just in time.

Chris: Ohhh, it's going to happen!

Aviva: What's going to happen?

Martin/Chris: Wait for it--

♪♪

[LOUD cr*ck!]All: Whoaoaoaoa!

Koki: What in the creature world?

Martin: That's the head-butting power of the bighorn sheep.

Aviva: THAT is going to make

a great Creature Power Suit.

Chris: We've got a bighorn battle going down!

First the two rams face off,

sizing each other up.

Will either back down?

Martin: Doesn't look like it, Chris.

They rise-up, quick step forward and--

All: Whoaoaoaoa!!

Martin: A smashing head butt!

Chris: Oh-ho, sure was, Martin!

[gasps] Look, licking his lips

is one of the signs that he wants to go again.

[LOUD cr*ck!]Aviva: Alright! Koki: Awesome!

Martin: Wow! Chris: Yeah!

Aviva: I've gotta get programming!

Koki: I'll help you!

Send us observations, bros.

Jimmy Z: Why don't they get a headache?

Chris: Bighorns have double-layer skulls,

with spongy bone in between them.

This absorbs the impact

and protects the bighorn's brain. See?

Koki: Thank you.

Aviva will need that information.

Chris: Hey!

Martin: It's for science, bro.

What I love about bighorns is they are a gentle creature

with a powerful creature...

POWER!

Again?!...Uh-oh!

♪♪

[LOUD cr*ck!]

[LOUD cr*ck!]

[LOUD cr*ck!]

Jimmy Z: Uh, you say they're gentle,

but I don't want to trip and fall

in the middle of that. Ah-uh! Agh!

I think Aviva and Koki need my help.

See you later!

Chris: It's really amazing.

Those horns are so heavy!

One horn weighs pounds.

Both horns make up over % of the entire body weight.

Martin: They have to be really strong

to carry those big horns around,

let alone bang heads.

[gasps] I've got it!

Chris: Got what?

Martin: Names!

I'll name you Big and you Bang!

Could be one of my best namings.

Chris: [gasps] Big!...Bang!

Uaaaah! [LOUD cr*ck!]

Chris/Martin: Oooh-oh-ooh!

Chris: Nice naming, bro!

Martin: Thanks Chris.

Martin/Chris: [laughter]

♪♪

Jimmy Z: I do not want to bump heads with Big--

--or Bang!!

♪♪

[loud rumble] Koki/Jimmy Z: Aah!

Jimmy Z: Ah, is it just me,

or is the Tortuga moving?

Koki: The Tortuga is moving!

[loud rumbling]

Oh no, it's Paisley Paver and her paverbots.

Paisley, you're pushing the Tortuga!

Paisley: That's right!

Get out of the way! You can't stop progress!

Rex: No way, no how!

Koki: Stop! What are you doing?

Paisley: Developing, of course.

Do they even have to ask?

Rex: [laughter]

Jimmy Z: No, this is a wild place!

Koki: Turn around! Get out of here!

Paisley: I think YOU had better get out of here!

[evil laughter]

[motor humms]

Your Turtlebus will roll right down my smooth new highway.

Enjoy the smooth ride!

Koki/Jimmy Z: Ahhhhh!!!

Jimmy Z: Whoaa!!!

Koki: Get to the cockpit!

♪♪

Keep her on the road, Jimmy! Jimmy Z: I'm trying!

Koki/Jimmy Z: Whoaaaaa!!!

♪♪ [ducks quacking]

Koki: Watch out for the ducks!

Jimmy Z: Ahh!!! Uuuaaah!

[bouncing]

Aaaah!

Grab the brake!!!

[breaks squeak]

Bear: [huffs]

Koki: [sighs] Aviva: What was that?

Koki: You better finish bighorn powers fast!

Paisley Paver and her paverbots are out in force.

Chris and Martin are going to need some kind of

powerful creature power to stop her!

♪ [suspenseful music]

♪♪

Chris: Stop!

Paisley! Not you again!

This is a wild place!

Martin: A bighorn battle meadow.

Chris: No developing allowed!

Paisley: Yeah yeah, heard it all before.

[yawns]Ooh, nature is so precious.

What do they call this mountain?

Martin: It's called Goat Mountain! And--

Paisley: Goat Mountain?

Named after these?!

Chris: No these are sheep. Bighorn sheep.

Paisley: So, what's the diff?!

Chris: Well the horns for one.

Bighorn sheep have way bigger horns, that curl downwards.

They use those in their bighorn battles.

Mountain goats have smaller horns, that point upwards.

These sheep are more muscular,

have brown coats and white rumps.

Mountain goats are way shaggier

and have fun little beards.

Paisley: And I care because...?

Martin: It's named Goat Mountain because of the mountain goats

who live near the tops.

They're awesome!

See? These are the mountain goats who live on Goat Mountain.

Chris: And he's browsing on leaves.

What a climber.

Paisley: Goat Mountain?

Puh-lease!! Needs a better name.

The goats have to leave,

and after I pave my way to the top--

[snap-snap]

I will rename it...

"Asphalt Ascent".

Martin: That's a terrible name!

Chris: And this would destroy the homes of all the animals,

and ruin the entire mountain ecosystem!

[bam!] Martin: Good job, Big!

[chuckles]

Paisley: You think that will stop me?

Chris: Wait a sec! Paisley Paver!

I challenge you to a race to the top of Goat Mountain!

Whoever gets to the peak first,

decides the future of the mountain ecosystem.

Do you accept the challenge?

Paisley: Yes! I accept.

What are the rules?

Chris: Okay, the rules are,

one, Paisley can use her machines.

Two, Martin and I can use creature powers!

Paisley: creature powers okay, but no machines.

And no flying in your Turtle ship.

Chris: No flying for either side.

Tortuga is grounded, but our Wild Kratts crew

can help remotely.

Paisley: Agreed. It's a deal!

Martin: We've got ourselves a race!

Chris: A race to Goat Mountain!

Martin: Huddle up for race strategy.

Alright bro, you are the climbing brother,

so you've gotta go for it.

I'll try to slow down Paisley and her pavers.

Chris: Okay, if you buy me some time,

I'll make it to the top first.

Martin: Big! Bang! You guys want to help?

Chris: You thinking what I'm thinking?

Martin: I'm thinking the same thing.

[LOUD cr*ck!] Oww! Uagh!

Not that! Chris: [laughs]

♪♪

Martin: Where's Aviva?

Koki: She's racing to finish the--

You know what? Before the race starts.

Rex: On your marks!

Get set...

[motor revs]

Go!

♪♪ [motor humming]

Martin: Go, Chris go!

Aviva: Martin!

Bighorn power disc!

Fresh off the power press.

Martin: Thanks, Aviva!

We need your power to help save your home!

Insert Bighorn power disc!

Touch bighorn sheep!

Activate Bighorn Sheep power!

♪♪

[ZAP]

Whoa! [thunk]

Koki: Now that's a Creature Power Suit malfunction!

Martin: Uaaah!

I can't get up.

Aviva: Oh no! Sorry Martin,

the strong neck muscles didn't program.

You need those muscles to hold up the big, heavy horns.

Martin: Yes...

I...

Do!

♪♪ [motors reving]

♪♪

Chris: Yes! I'm in the lead!

Gotta speed through the foothills, and to the mountain!

Koki: Okay Aviva, attaching MIK interface.

Aviva: Alright, increasing neck muscles.

Try this.

[buzzing/crackling]

Martin: Nice! [chuckles]

Now that's ramtastic!

Hey Big, I'm a bighorn sheep too!

See?

Big: [baaaaa!]

Martin: N-no, no, no!

I wasn't challenging you!

Auugh! [LOUD cr*ck!]

Oyoyoyoyoyoy!

My head is r-r-r-r-ringining -ing -ing -ing!

Aaaah! Uuuh!

Aviva: Uh-oh! Sorry Martin,

adding double layer skull for impact absorption.

That's better. With two layers

and a big open space with spongy bone in between,

the skull helmet has cushion to protect the brain.

Something humans don't have.

Martin: Yes!

Bang, you too?!

Okay...

[LOUD cr*ck!]

Whoo hoo!

Oh hey, that worked Aviva!

I hardly felt it that time.

You only want to head-butt like that with Bighorn power!

Listen, Big! Bang!

You guys win.

I'm outta here!

Gotta catch up with Paisley.

Slow her down and help Chris get to the top!

♪♪

Chris: Pine marten!

♪♪

Snowshoe hare!

Lynx!

[gasps]

Wolverine!

Uh! Ho! Can't stop now,

first have to win this race,

to save your habitat!

Then we'll come back and adventure with ya'!

I promise!

♪♪

Koki: Okay, time to check in on the racers.

Chris is moving quickly through the foothills now.

Staying focused.

Even amazing animals along the way won't distract him.

Aviva: While Paisley Paver makes slow but steady progress.

Jimmy Z: Martin in an impressive new Bighorn Power Suit

takes up the rear.

Martin: Bighorn sheep aren't the fastest.

We run around miles per hour.

Uh-oh!

Just fast enough to run to rocky hillsides

to escape predators.

And this kind of boulder bounding ability is just

what I need to catch up with--

[motors humming] Paisley Paver!

Eww, gross!

Destroying nature in their path.

Gotta stop that.

Bighorn sheep don't really use their horns

for defense or att*ck.

But I can!

Oo-oh-ooh!

Uuh! [LOUD cr*ck!]

[loud crash]

Paisley: Forward! Pave on!

[motor humming]

Koki: Bighorn Powers prove effective against paverbots.

Aviva: Oh, but Paisley undeterred, presses on.

Jimmy Z: And Chris has left the foothills,

and arrived in the Mountain zone.

That's right! Isn't it Mountain zone?

[LOUD BANG]

Chris: Way to slow them down, bro!

Martin: Oh yeah, I'll take care of the paverbots.

You just win the race!

Chris: Thanks, Martin!

Now, I start my climb up the mountain.

♪♪

Martin: Ohhh...ewwww. [BAM!]

Stop Paisley! Your paving machines are no match

for bighorn sheep power!

Paisley: But I have so many, you can't stop them all!

And you'll get a headache.

Martin: Oh yeah?

A bighorn sheep butts heads hundreds of times

in one battle season.

Koki: Martin is taking out paverbots one after another,

with bighorn head butting power.

Aviva: But Paisley rolls onwards and upwards.

[motors humming]

Jimmy Z: Going is tough, but Chris is hanging in there.

Chris: [grunting]

Whoa!

This is gonna be a challenging route.

I can hardly see a handhold!

♪♪ [struggle/effort]

Oh, sure could use some climbing creature powers.

♪♪ [struggle/effort]

♪♪ [motors humming]

Martin: Excuse me paverbot... [BAM!]

Butt-out! [crash]

Seven down, and I don't have a headache.

The shock absorption of thick neck and double layer-skull,

with spongy cushioning, really works!

Jimmy Z: You can only butt heads like that

with the headgear of a Bighorn sheep!

Koki: Okay, now this is the moment where Martin

can take out Paisley Paver's machine advantage.

Aviva: Ensuring Chris a relaxed climb to victory!

Jimmy Z: Uh-oh, not so fast.

It looks like Paisley's blocked the path, with a rock slide!

[loud crash]

Martin: No problem, I'll just climb over it!

♪♪ [effort/struggle]

Uaaah-uhhhh!!!

Uuugh!

Jimmy Z: Is the Bighorn Power Suit malfunctioning again?

Aviva: No! It's fine!

Martin: Oh no! Bighorn sheep are used to living in

foothills and lower cliffs.

My bighorn powers can't climb this kind of rugged steepness.

It looks like the mountain's become too steep,

even for bighorn sheep power.

Aviva: Martin is out!

Koki: Chris is struggling!

Jimmy Z: Paisley Paver is gaining!

Aviva/Koki/Jimmy Z: Who will reach the summit

of Goat Mountain first?

Martin: Is there any creature

in these steep slopes and dizzying heights,

who can help us to victoryyyy?

♪♪

[swishing sound]

♪♪

Huh?! Yes! Peregrine falcon powers!

You are the answer!

I'll just fly to the top and--

Ugh, "no flying".

One of the rules.

Is there any climbing creature in these mountains

who can help us?

[bouncing rock] Huh?!

A mountain goat!

Wow! You don't even look like any goat I've ever seen.

You--you look like you stepped out of the Ice Age.

That prehistoric face.

The sharp curved horns.

Martin: Look at those muscles!

Y-you must weigh over pounds.

Wow! And leaping ability!

How did you land there?

What are you even standing on?

How in the creature world is a big goat like you holding on?

Aviva: This creature could have the power we're looking for!

I'm back on Creature programming!

♪♪

Martin: Whoaa!

Hey, wait for me!

Agh! I know you got balance, strength, and great moves,

but still...how?!

Oh, the hooves!

Your hooves are rubbery, with a surface like sandpaper.

Gripping the rocks so well,

and two hoof halves

grab like...a hand!

Aviva, are you getting this?

Aviva: [laughter] I'm getting this.

Keep the observations coming, Martin.

Martin: You got it.

Chris: It's getting harder and harder to climb,

just tiny little crevices.

My hands can't handle it.

Paisley: That's why I'm creating a smooth path to progress.

Paving new roads is always better.

Chris: Ugh!

Actually, I think I see something way better.

The mountain goat!

The old wizard of the high peaks.

The answer may just have found me!

[crumbling sound]

Whoaa! Hey little baby mountain goat.

Nice to meet you!

And look at how easily you stand on that tiny ledge.

What a pro!

Hey, your horns are starting to come in.

And even though you are only a few months old,

your leaping around these high peaks like it's nothing.

Now those are the climbing powers

I need to finish this race!

Aviva, is there any way you could please possibly program--

Aviva: Mountain Goat Power?

Chris: Yes!

Aviva: Complete!

Chris: That was so fast!

Aviva: That's how I roll.

Jimmy, Mountain Goat Power disc.

Jimmy Z: Energize!

Aviva: Coming at you!

Jimmy Z: And zap it.

[zap]

Chris: Got it!

Insert Mountain Goat power disc!

♪♪

Touch mountain goat!

[slurp]

And activate mountain goat powers!

♪♪

[zap]

[chuckles] I am the GOAT!

The greatest of all time!

When it comes to mountain climbing anyway.

Thanks for sharing your awesome climbing powers with me.

Now I've got a race to win!

Koki: Chris's new climbing power gives him a chance!

Jimmy Z: But Paisley is winding her way to the top!

Aviva: Go, Chris, go!

Paisley: Goodbye Goat Mountain!

Hello Asphalt Ascent!

♪♪

Chris: Paverbots!

They built a rock wall to stop me.

But, not a problem with mountain goat powers!

Aaaah! [chuckles] Woo!!!

♪♪

Martin: Go, bro, go, bro!

Look at Chris climb!

Aviva: Come on Chris, you can do it!

Paisley: Ahhh, what is that?

Chris: It's me, Chris!

I'm on nature's team.

Creature Power wins!

Goat Mountain is saved!

Aviva/Koki/Jimmy Z: Goat Mountain is saved!

Martin: Goat Mountain is saved!

For the animals who call it home!

Chris: Head back down the mountain, Paisley.

A deal's, a deal.

Paisley: Ugh!

You can keep your mountain and your silly looking goats!!

[grumbling/muttering]

Koki: So long, Paisley! And take your road with you!

Aviva: And leave Goat Mountain to its shaggy look-outs.

The mountain goats!

♪♪

Martin: Go ahead and say it, Chris.

Chris: Living free and in the wild!

Martin: Oh, these guys are great.

Oooh! [laughs]

Almost got butted off the log here, there you go.

Yeah, these, they're great goats.

Chris: Sheep!

Martin: Goat antelopes, whoa, stay there. [laughs]

Chris: Can get kind of confusing, which is which.

Martin: Oh yeah, and we're going to go over the differences.

All these animals, goats, sheep,

antelopes, goat antelopes,

they all have horns.

Domestic goats have long thin horns,

but bighorn sheep have incredible horns.

Curling horns that the males use to battle each other

in amazing head butting contests.

No, I don't have horns.

Yours are growing.

Chris: Antelopes live all over the world,

but we've seen lots of different kinds in Africa.

There you'll find more than species of antelope.

Most, with very unique horns.

Like the sable, with its razor-sharp horns.

Or the kudu, with amazing spirally horns.

Then there's the impala,

who's horns point outwards.

Martin: What sets the antelope apart from goats and sheep

is their speed.

They are among the fastest creatures on the planet.

And then, there's the goat antelope, is very unique.

Only a few species, including the Rocky Mountain goat.

Living way up high in the Rocky Mountains,

they're incredible climbers.

They climb rocky cliffs.

They escape from predators by-- [chuckles]

by scuttling up the cliffs.

The Rocky Mountain goat,

the ultimate rock climber.

Chris: So goats, sheep,

antelope and goat antelope

are all part of the same family.

Bovidae.

Those are some great members of the Bovidae family!

Martin: Oh yeah, and there are some many more out there

in the creature world to get to know.

Chris: Keep on creature adventuring!

Martin: We'll see you on the creature trail!
