[g*nshots]

Nina, do you have him?

No.

Barnes?

Negative.

Where the hell did he go?

You think you'll be home
for the weekend?

Maybe. I don't know yet.

Anais' music class has their...

Spring recital. It's on my calendar.

Your mom said she was good
if neither of us can make it.

You know, I honestly thought
that this trial

would take up less time
than the trial prep.

I'll take the first train up
on Saturday if I have to, okay?

No, that's not what I was trying to say.

- I was not trying to say...
- It's fine.

I know you weren't.

It's just, I'm late
and I can't find my charger.

Fantastic.

You can take mine.

Here.

Thank you.

You know, if you're back
from D.C. Saturday,

maybe we could have a date night.

We're long overdue.

Sure. Can you set it up?
I'll try to be there.

Oh, you'll try?

Can you guarantee that you'll be there?

Or will it be like our anniversary

when we had reservations to Le Bernardin

and you got stuck in Cleveland?

Fairfield.

And I hear you.

Listen.

It would be nice to reconnect, okay?

I feel so...

[PHONE RINGING]

Disconnected?

One second.

[APPREHENSIVE MUSIC]

Barnes.

Copy. I'm on my way.

That was Remy.
We're heading north of Albany.

I'll see you when I see you.

Hey, this was the life we chose.

Not exactly.

But it's the life we have.

Don't forget your parka.

DOJ has asked us to join a task force

that's setting up shop
on the Akwesasne Reservation.

It's dedicated to missing
and m*rder*d Indigenous women.

- Do we have a specific target?
- Yes.

Last night,
a young Native American woman

escaped her attacker,
a man who they believe

is responsible for
a series of brutal murders.

Okay, so we're hunting a serial k*ller?

Four bodies were found
along the St. Regis River,

three of them beyond decomposed.

The victims were all young,
petite, Native American women.

I've heard about this case.

This is the Hollow Man.

It sure is.

The most recent victim had
her throat slit,

was cut open, and bled out,

her liver and stomach removed.

If she were a deer,

you say she'd been field dressed.

And all four women were found like that?

A hunter stumbled
across Riley Lawton's body,

which had been preserved
by the last snow.

The dogs were called out

and the other three were discovered.

Okay, does that mean you have
a timeline on the murders?

She believes they happened in the fall,

the first victim in September,
the next two in the winter.

Riley Lawton's time of death
was around a month ago.

Okay, so these are all young,

petite, Mohawk women.

What else connects them?

The only thing so far
is that none of them

were reported missing
until their bodies were found.

They weren't on anyone's radar.

Low-impact victims.

That's how my first captain
would describe them.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

It's a T.S. Eliot poem,
isn't it, "The Hollow Men"?

"This is how the world ends.

"Not with a bang,

but with a whimper."

Grab your stuff.

Jet's waiting.

I know this isn't as high-tech

as you're used to up in New York City.

No, we can work anywhere.

[SCOFFS] That's what I said too.

I've been fighting for months
to get eyes on this case.

It wasn't till I leaked a few details

to my old college roommate,
who's a reporter at the "Post,"

that anyone else cared
about these women.

These women, they're my sisters.

And there's been whispers
for a while now

that women were going missing.

Isn't the homicide rate
for Native American women

And those are just
the ones we know about.

There could be more victims.

And we got a break last night
when a woman escaped

the john who att*cked her,

a woman who fits the
victimology of this k*ller.

Here, let me show you
a surveillance video.

The woman who escaped,
her name is Shenoa.

Shenoa Fermy.

This is her just after
she escaped her john.

Now, let me show you
the footage from earlier.

She was working the gas station.

The john picked her up,

drove her down the road a stretch,
and pulled a g*n on her.

She was able to escape
and make her way back

to the gas station

where a good Samaritan
gave her the jacket

off his back, called for help.

How many of the other Hollow
Man's victims are sex workers?

One other victim, his third.

Lily Yorn.

So the john that picked up Shenoa,

did he buy any gas or anything
from the gas station?

Unfortunately, no.

We have a partial plate on his truck.

Hana, get started on that plate.

Yeah, I'm all over it.

You two, head to that gas station,

- see what you can find.
- Will do.

Riley Lawton, what do we know about her?

Nothing, really.

No family in the area,
no friends that we could find.

All we really know
is that she didn't show up

for her waitress job one morning.

Three days later, her body was found.

And her employer didn't try
to contact her or the police?

No. They just suspected
that she was out sick,

and they called someone else in
to take her shift.

All right, the first thing we
need to do is talk to Shenoa,

see if she can give us a
description of the Hollow Man.

I figured.

I have her waiting over here.

So what did he look like?

He's Mohawk like me.

Mean-looking too.

I didn't like him from the jump.

I should have listened to my gut, but...

You're safe now.

That's all that matters.

I have three brothers.

I learned how to fight.

When he pulled his g*n on me,
it was all like,

"Release the kraken!" you know?

Man, I'd give anything
for a fix right now.

You don't have anything, do you?

Just caffeine.

He promised me a hit.

You know, when he picked me up.

Partial payment, he said.

I've been trying to get clean, but...

My mom was an addict.

She overdosed when I was young.

She had her whole life
ahead of her, and so do you.

I'll go back to the meetings. I will.

Tell us more about this man.

He was Native American, right?

How big would you say?

Not big. He's more like a rat.

You know, he's rat-like.

Short hair, black,

he's maybe 35 or so.

Can you walk us through what
happened after he picked you up?

It was, like, totally normal.

He wanted to stay in his smelly truck.

What'd it smell like?

Man juice.

He wanted a better look at me,

so I took off my jacket.

And when I looked up,
he had his g*n pointed at me.

I got out of there as fast as I could.

I left my jacket
and my purse in the car.

My favorite purse.

It was blue and green, beaded,

and with a butterfly on it.

Did his g*n stand out in any way?

Yeah.

It was like yours.

Okay, a service w*apon?

Was he wearing a uniform?

No. Regular clothes.

Badge of any kind?

Not that I saw.

But you know, I got out
of there as fast as I could.

Guys.

- We have something.
- Okay.

You did great, Shenoa.

Just give us a sec.

Hey.

Try to get to a meeting.

I may have found the owner of the truck

that picked up Shenoa.

Police officer?

Border patrol agent, Eddie Lauda.

I don't know him.

Their turnover rate is high.

A while back,
we had trouble with one agent,

he was taking kickbacks.

Lauda could be our guy.

Yeah, he's definitely rat-like

and has a service w*apon issued to him.

You got an address for this dirtbag?

Yeah. It's actually not far from here.

Guys, this is the same truck

that Shenoa got into last night.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Remy, this could be her purse.

All we need for probable cause.

Yep. Shenoa Fermy's ID.

Can I help you all?

No. No, I'm sorry.

No, I cannot believe
what you are telling me.

Where is Eddie right now?

He's at work.

I mean, I expect, though, I don't...

I'm sorry, how many women?

Four.

Four women were m*rder*d.

Look, I know that this is
a lot to take in...

Oh, yeah, you're telling me.

We need you to call your husband.

Tell him your baby is very sick

and he needs to come home right away.

Can you do that for us?

Yeah. Yeah, I can... can.

I just... I need to...

I need to find my phone.
Would you... would you mind?

Of course.

A lot of God in this place.

A man of God k*lling sex workers?

Maybe it's his way
of covering up his sins.

Honey.

It's... no, it's...
it's... it's baby Netty.

There's... there's blood
all in her diaper.

I just don't know what to do.
I'm scared.

Could you just please come home?

Okay.

He said he's on his way.

- Thank you.
- Yeah.

Okay.

[SIREN WAILING]

[TENSE MUSIC]

Rachelle, where are you?

Eddie Lauda, we'd like to talk with you.

[DOG BARKING]

Not today, jackass.

Hey, keep your hands
where we can see them.

I didn't do anything.

You're under arrest
for the m*rder of four women.

Four women?

Women who were Mohawk, like you.

Like me.

I know who you're
talking about, and trust me,

I'm not your guy. I didn't k*ll anybody!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. They all say that.

Let's go.

Move!

What did you mean when you said

you know who we're talking about?

Everyone knows there's someone
out there on the rez slicing open women.

But it's not me.

You pulled a g*n on Shenoa.

She's a drug addict.
You know how they are.

No. Tell us.

Unpredictable.

She came after me, att*cked me.

I pulled...

I pulled my g*n
to protect myself from her.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

What about these young girls?

Hmm?

They yank your chain?

Tickle your fancy?

Float your boat?

Turn your crank?

I'm telling you, I'm a lot of things,

but I'm not a k*ller.

Wouldn't you say our jobs

are like a calling?

I know I feel that way.

You're obviously a man of God.

I am too.

A true believer.

And every now and then,

God asks us to do what is right.

And these young girls,

what they're doing

isn't right.

So...

maybe you had a calling, huh?

To take out the freaking trash.

Shenoa,

Lily Yorn.

Listen, there's no way I could
have k*lled any of those girls,

because I wasn't here.

What do you mean?

You were in an altered state?

I was in a different state altogether.

New Hampshire, Nashua.

I got transferred here a month ago.

The guy you're looking for,
the Hollow Man,

is still out there.

Border patrol confirmed

Eddie Lauda was in New Hampshire

when our victims were all k*lled.

So Eddie was telling the truth.

Yep. They charged Eddie with as*ault

and false imprisonment,

but he's not our serial k*ller.

Slitting someone's throat
is a tremendous display

of personal power.

We're dealing with someone
who has power issues,

either a lot of it...

Or none of it.

Someone who isn't afraid
of close contact

and wet work.

Well, maybe he's a hunter.

How long before Riley went missing

till her body was found?

Three days, although ME believes

she was dead for less than a day.

So the Hollow Man
could have abducted her,

held her for two days
before k*lling her, why?

To t*rture her?

ME says there were no signs of t*rture.

The eviscerations were postmortem.

And all the r*pe kits
came back negative.

So no overt sexual motives at play here?

Maybe he gets off on
keeping his victims prisoner.

If he's holding these women
hostage for two days

before cutting them open,

two days is enough time
to empty the stomach,

which he's taken from the bodies.

Yeah, but why would he want
to empty their stomachs?

Is he force-feeding them
something possibly,

like a human foie gras?

Ugh.

Okay, I'm officially done eating.

All the bodies were found
within a few hundred yards

of each other, dumped there.

What do we know about
where they were abducted?

Three of our four victims had cars.

Our first victim, Brianna Culpbert,

her car was found abandoned
here on a road.

There's no cameras. It's very rural.

The second victim, Ally Woodrose,

her car was found here
on a similar road.

And our third victim, Riley Lawton,

her car was abandoned here.

In the middle of it?

The Akwesasne Fairgrounds?

There's a casino there.

And there's a state fair
every September.

The RMS clinic is also there,

three times a year.

What's that?

It's the Rural Medical Services.

It's a pop-up clinic.

We don't have a lot of doctors up here.

Nearest hospital's 50 miles away.

That clinic is how most people
get their basic medical care.

It's here three times a year...

fall, winter, spring.

So fall when the first m*rder happened,

winter when the next
three murders happened.

And it's in town now for the spring.

It opens up today.

That's it.

He could be using that clinic
as his hunting ground.

Barnes, come with me.

And, Hana, see if any of our
victims are patients there.

Nina, Ray, Riley's car is still
at the impound lot.

See if it has anything to tell us.

Yep.

Do you keep records of the patients

that visit these clinics?

I wish we had that kind of money.

The closest thing we have
to a system here

are these paper numbers we give out.

These are the four women
we're interested in.

Is there any way that we can
find out if they were seen here?

I can do my best.

When do the doctors arrive?

Any minute now.

They're being shuttled over
from the hotel.

They're not from around here?

Most are from Manhattan,
a few from Boston.

They're all volunteers.

So am I, for that matter.

I live in Burlington.

Excuse me a second.

A doctor is not afraid
of close body contact

or bodily fluids.

Also has a position of power.

Not to mention the skill set
to flay somebody open

and remove their organs.

So why come all the way
up here for victims?

Precisely.

Because they're not at home.
They're anonymous.

But they may have priors
in their home town.

Sorry. One last thing.

Can you get a list of all
the volunteer doctors for us?

What for?

We're just covering our bases.

Might help us find
who we're looking for.

Yeah, okay.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you.

She kept up with her oil changes

and serviced her car like clockwork.

Yeah, she needed new tires, though.

Treads on these are worn bare.

I wonder what made this girl a target.

Hey, wait.

What do you think this is?

I'm not sure.

Send a picture to Remy.

Patient.

Oh.

I think I got something here.

Check this out.

- What's up?
- Got a flat tire.

Look at the shape of this puncture here.

Oh, yeah, that's a slice.

Yep.

Like it was made with a Kn*fe.

I'm not sure this is accidental.

It's too close to the tread.

It creates a slow leak.

Okay, so is this what our k*ller does?

He tampers with the tires
so that when he's driving by,

all of a sudden,
our victims need his help,

like a knight in shining armor?

Yeah, who becomes their worst nightmare.

Yeah.

[TENSE MUSIC]

[TIRE POPS]

[CAR RATTLING]

[GROANS]

Howdy.

Looks like you could use some help.

How lucky am I that you came along?

- Very.
- [LAUGHS]

The car was unlocked,
and in the front seat,

I encountered a purse and a cell phone.

Two things they'd never leave behind.

Exactly my thinking there.

I looked at the driver's license.

Her name is Maya Holt.

Saw that she was like those
other girls that ended up dead.

Young, Native American, petite?

And alone.

I didn't find any evidence of
another person in the car with her.

Yeah, no sign of struggle,

which means Maya probably went willingly

with whoever stopped,

thinking they were actually gonna help.

I phoned local establishments
in the area.

No one came in with a woman
having car trouble.

This led me to conclude that
Maya had possibly been abducted.

Ah, here it is.

Tire walls have been slashed.

It's the same puncture
as Riley Lawton's tires.

RMS Clinic.

This is the first day
it's been up and running,

which means she was there.

- How far is it?
- 20 minutes.

So she gets the puncture there,

slowly she drives and she stops here.

That's where the
Hollow Man stops to help.

And if he keeps his victims alive

for two days before k*lling them...

Clock's ticking. We gotta get going.

Thank you so much.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Maya Holt's number is pink 068.

Pink is OB/GYN.

That's Dr. May over there.

He would have seen Maya Holt today.

Want me to go get him for you?

Please, right away.

Okay. Dr. Travis May, 45, no priors.

I'm not seeing any pattern
of murders in the Boston area

of women who have been eviscerated.

Don't forget,
Jack the Ripper was an OB/GYN.

Dr. May worked this morning.
I don't think he's the Hollow Man.

He would have had to treat Maya, leave,

puncture her tire,
stalk her for 20 minutes,

secure her, and then get back here.

But he was the last person
we know of who saw Maya alive.

Dr. Travis May,
this is Agent Scott, FBI.

We're investigating a series of murders.

The Hollow Man case, right?

We've all heard about it.

Zendie checked for us.

All the victims came
through this clinic.

Another woman's missing,

a woman you saw earlier today.

Her name is Maya Holt.

I remember her.

About seven months along.

She's pregnant?

Yes.

But with her petite stature,
she'll probably deliver early.

Maya is seven months pregnant.

This is a major changeup
in the Hollow Man's MO.

None of his other victims were pregnant.

I mean, serial K*llers evolve, sure,

but her being pregnant makes
her a high-profile victim.

Is the father in the picture?

We got people
at her apartment right now.

So far, she appears to live alone.

Okay, so like the other victims,

women who won't be immediately missed.

There's no other pattern of kills
that resemble these murders, right?

Not that I've found.

And these kills only happened
here starting in September?

According to the ME.

And I got to tell you,

September is my least favorite
time of the year.

It's when the seasonal workers,
young guys, most of them,

come back with nothing to do
and wallets thick with cash.

What kind of work do they do?

This is where most men go
from May to September,

over to Alaska,

where salmon is processed and canned.

A worker who guts fish?

That's somebody
who's not afraid of wet work.

And they have the knowledge
and the strength

to be able to gut a woman.

Does this fish company
have a recruitment office?

Just another moment.

There.

Okay, I found it.

This is a list of the men we hired

to join us in Alaska last summer.

I know a couple of these guys.

Him and him

and him.

I'll vouch for them.

That leaves 20 other guys.

Any of these dudes seem weird to you?

For the most part,

they were all good workers,

solid.

"For the most part."

Naturally,
there is attrition each summer.

Naturally.

[TENSE MUSIC]

Hank Fuller.

This fellow here came home early August.

He was one of our floating processors.

- August?
- Yes.

He said he wasn't feeling well.

Hank Fuller, 28,

he was arrested in Alaska in July 2023

for battery and as*ault.

He's got power issues.

- Mm-hmm.
- Big time.

He took the Tribal Police
Department test five times.

He was denied five times.

I have his last-known address.

It looks like an apartment building.

FBI!

All rooms clear!

Looks like Hank Fuller lives alone.

Yeah, I don't know a single woman

who would willingly stay here.

There's no signs of Maya at all.

Yeah, this be a hard place

to keep someone alive for two days.

Too many people around.

Wherever he's headed,

that's where he could be holding Maya.

Okay, so there's no other
properties in Hank's name.

What about family property?

He doesn't have any family.

He aged out of foster care.

Hey, guys, come check this out.

These license plate photos?

These are all from the RMS clinic.

Fuller's got subscriptions
to consumer databases

where he pays to run
background checks on people.

He's running these license plates

- through these databases?
- Yes.

And then he gets the addresses
from where the cars are registered.

He's working out
if these women live alone

or have a family.

That way he can choose women
who won't be easily missed.

These are Brianna Culpbert's plates.

The Hollow Man's first victim.

Mm-hmm.

And these are Ally Woodrose.

And this is Riley Lawton's.

Are Maya's plates there?

No.

Maybe Maya's abduction this
morning was more spontaneous.

Hana, run those plates
against other missing persons.

I've always thought that
he might have more victims

out there than we know about.

I'll put a BOLO out on his car.

It's a truck.

Charlotte's still in D.C. in trial?

It's been weeks.

Three. Yep.

Good luck seeing Charlotte
unless you're co-counsel.

Yeah, two careers and kids

is something we're navigating too.

Do we know the reason Fuller was placed

in foster care to begin with?

He was removed from his mother's home...

no father in the picture... for neglect.

- She was starving him.
- Oh.

So the guy is bound to have food issues.

Uh.

This is kind of a big liver.

Oh, my God.

What is that, a stomach?

I think these are human organs.

Do those belong to Riley Lawton?

What the hell?
Why is he keeping all these?

So he can eat them.

Hank Fuller has cancer.

He's removing his victims' brains,

heart, gallbladder, pancreas,

so he can happily dine on them.

Fuller downloaded a book
by this German philosopher

who believes that you can treat
like with like,

that if you have a diseased organ,

you can cure it
by consuming healthy flesh.

That's what Hank Fuller is after,

the vital organs of his victims.

He left Alaska in August

because he wasn't feeling well.

Maybe he was diagnosed then.

And desperate to cure himself,

he started k*lling healthy
young women for their organs.

Right.

He becomes more and more desperate

and graduates to wanting
what only a pregnant woman has:

her placenta,

the most nutrient-dense organ
a body can produce.

That's disgusting.

[TENSE MUSIC]

Oh, God, that smell.

- Oh.
- Who is she?

Another poor soul.

She's been eviscerated, like the others.

This is where
he field dresses his victims,

where the blood drains into the river.

Ugh.

Guys.

He was here.

He left his Kn*fe and took this g*n.

He's got us right where he wants us.

He can't be far.

Go, go, go.

Fuller, drop your w*apon!

Subject down.

We got the sick son of a bitch.

It's a hell of a sh*t.

Yeah, still doesn't feel like justice.

Remy, we found Maya.

West trail about 100 yards in.

- We need your help.
- Go.

I'll take care of him
and the Jane Doe in the shack.

Let's set up around this tree.

Remy.

Here, this is ready to go.

All right. Let's take this thing.

- You ready?
- Yeah.

- Okay.
- Okay.

That's good.

I'm going over.

More rope. More rope.

Hold tight, Maya!

I'm coming.

Let's lower him down. Keep going.

Careful, Remy!

Almost there.

I'm slipping.

Stay where you are.

Don't move.

Little lower.

I got you, don't worry.

Yeah, stay still.

That's it.

Little lower, guys.

Lower!

Try to grab my...

that's it. Almost. Almost. Almost.

Come on.

[GRUNTING]

I got you.

I got her.

He's got her.

Come on, let's bring her up.

[GRUNTING]

Come on.

We're too heavy.

Not up, down.

Not up, down.

All right, back down.

Back down. Back down.

That's it. Nice and slow.

Nice and slow.

That's it. I got you. I got you.

Okay.

That's it.

It's good. It's good.

Almost there. Almost there.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

You're safe.

Your baby's safe.

You're gonna be okay.
You're gonna be okay.

Char, what are you doing
sitting in the dark?

You're home from work early.

Is the trial over?

No.

What's going on? Where are the kids?

They're with your mother.

We need to talk.

Those are never good words to hear.

What's going on?

Charlotte, did something happen?

I can't put this off any longer.

You can't put what off any longer?

[SOFT DRAMATIC MUSIC]

I met someone.
