I love making blanket forts.

My beach towel is the back door.

See, Grandpa?

Very nice, Franny!

What do you have for the front door?

My baby blanket!

[Gasp] What happened to it?

Your blanket was full of holes.

So I mended it.

But I liked it the way it was!

With all the holes?

Hmph!

[Bell rings]

A customer!

And what can we do for you?

I wore them in the rain, and the leather stretched.

I've got leather for all kinds of weather!

Give me till Monday, and they'll be good as new.

Could you put these in the fix-it box, please?

Okay, Grandpa!

Where will my feet take me today?

[Twinkles]

[Jungle animal noises]

Ooooh! Swinging safaris -

I must be in Africa!

It's so peaceful.

[Rumble]

[Animals chatter]

Ow! Ooch! Eeek!

Jeepers. I wonder what's wrong?

[Panting and moaning]

Excuse me - are you all right?

Do I look all right?

The bugs are eating me alive!

That's terrible! Can I help?

My name is Franny.

Thanks, Franny. I'm Hornswell.

Do you know how to get rid of bugs?

Sure!

- but I didn't bring a fly swatter.

Oh.

Maybe we don't need one!

Once I saw a horse keep flies away by swishing his tail.

Can you do that?

No. It's too stumpy.

Maybe we should try something else.

Lucky for us, somebody left this tent behind.

If you wear this wherever you go,

it'll keep the bugs out!

It's perfect! Hey, hey hop on -

I'll show you around my neighbourhood.

That sounds Fran-tastic!

[Giggles] Giddy up!

You sure have a big neighbourhood!

Good thing, too!

I share it with lions and antelopes, and giraffes -

- and fleas...and ticks...

I think there's a bug in my tent! Ow! Ow!

Whoa, Hornswell! Whoa!

Whoa! Whaaa!!!

Fran overboard! - Oof!

(gasp!)

Ahhhh...

Well, I never!

I'm sorry - I couldn't help it!

The bugs were driving me crazy.

Why doesn't your friend eat the insects for you?

Me? Eat bugs?!

Aren't you an insect-eating bird, like myself?

She's not an oxpecker. She's a Franny!

Well, you can't spend all summer in the water

Take my advice -

make friends with an oxpecker.

That's a very good idea!

I already am friends with an oxpecker.

At least I was.

What happened?

Oxie and I had a fight.

He called me clumsy!

That must have hurt your feelings.

Uh-huh.

And then he said he didn't need me,

and he flew away!

Sometimes when people are mad,

they say things they don't mean.

Maybe he misses you too?

Who says I miss him?

But if he says sorry, he can come back.

Great! I'll go and find him.

You better stay in the water.

With pleasure.

I'm back!

And look, I found Oxie!

Oh, you were right Franny.

(lip smacks)

He does have lots of flies!

Oxie! I missed you!

I mean - are you ready to apologize

for calling me clumsy?

Me apologize?!

You're the one who said my claws were too sharp!

Well, they are sharp. They scratch!

Bumblefoot!

Scratchytoes!

Stop! Don't call each other names.

Why can't you both just say sorry?

Because I'm not sorry!

I don't need your old bugs, anyway.

[Stomach gurgles]

You do so need me.

I can hear your stomach growling from here.

Well, you need me too -

unless you want to spend the whole bug season

in that watering hole!

[Distant voices:] Me first! No, ME!

Uh-oh...

I was afraid of that.

It's Bellyflop and Cannonball!

Who are they?

Baby elephants.

It must be time for their afternoon swim!

You'd better get out, Hornswell.

Why?

Ever had an elephant belly-flop on you?

It's not pretty.

Urf! Ungh!

Oh, no! I'm stuck in the mud!

Oof! We need help!

Leave that to me!

[Bird calls]

This is an emergency!

Quick everybody, sit on that tree!

Let me help!

Bite the branch, Hornswell!

[Chomp]

Now, hold on tight!

We have to all let go at once.

I'll do a countdown! Three!

...Two!

...One!

Wooaah!

[Gasp!]

Woo-hoo! Yeah!

[Splash!]

Is everyone all right?

Yes... Oxie, you saved me!

Aw, well Franny and the others helped.

Thanks, everybody!

You're the best friend ever!

I'm sorry I called you Scratchytoes.

I'm sorry too. You're not clumsy!

[Stomach gurgles]

May I treat you to lunch?

Why, thank you!

Mm! Wunnerful.

It sure is. Thanks, Franny.

You're very welcome!

I'd better be going now.

[Flies buzzing]

Shoo! Go away! Shoo!

[Twinkles]

Whew! That was neat-o! [Giggles]

This grass is a great souvenir.

Another treasure for my shoebox!

Grandpa! I rode on a rhino!

But I didn't eat any bugs.

Well, I'm glad to hear that.

What are you doing?

I'm un-fixing your blanket.

Thank you! I'm sorry I was grumpy with you for mending it.

That's all right.

I should have asked you first.

But why on earth do you want these holes back?

Because we wore it out together.

And because the holes make great windows for my blanket fort!

[Chuckles] They sure do!

Where will my feet take me tomorrow?
