02x33 - A Shaky Foundation

Post by bunniefuu »

This is me, eliza thornberry

Part of your average family.

I got a dad, a mom, and a sister.

There is donnie-- we found him.

And darwin? He found us.

(Jabbering )

Oh, yeah, about our house-- it moves

'Cause we travel all over the world.

You see, my dad hosts this nature show

And my mom sh**t it.

Okay, so we're not that average.

(Panting )

And between you and me

Something amazing happened...

And now I can talk to animals.

It's really cool

But totally secret.

And you know what?

Life's never been the same.

]

I can't believe the bridge was out!

Leaving us no way to get up the mountain!

No matter, when one has access

To a trusty helicopter.

(Sighs )

(Cowering )

(Jabbers )

Ah, zimbabwe, home of the world's largest waterfall.

Not to mention the rock hyrax.

Yes, the fairy wunderkind of africa--

The size of a rabbit

Yet a distant cousin to the elephant.

Debbie, anything about him in your magazine?

He's arock hyrax of roll.

(Nigel chortling )

Not evena little funny.

This is so cool!

Not to me!

Chimps weren't meant to fly!

I'll be in the area, so just radio when you want a pickup!

Will do.

Whoa! This is nature times two!

Huh, ah, the mountain air!

No civilization for miles.

Hello thornberrys!

Oh, hello.

Uh, who are you?

Tom ravenhurst, new vp of programming for the foundation.

I'm a big fan!

Any relation to ellery ravenhurst

The president of the foundation

Who looks a bit like you only very much older?

My dad.

Well, that's very nice indeed.

I'm here to soak up how you make television

And to help you with anything you need.

Wonderful.

Now, to get us all started on the right foot

I brought a few little gifts along.

Nothing special.

Imported kippers!

V.i.p. Pack!

Oh, super!

A new eyepiece for the camera!

Well, how thoughtful!

Enjoy.

Oh, des broading's greatest out takes!

Oh, you areso plugged in!

Well, I used to work at boom tv.

You worked at boom!

Promotions.

And for the little kiddo.

Uh, thanks.

(Jabbers )

Well, we have to get started

Setting up our gear

And I'm sure you'd love

To see how we do things.

Yes, dazzle me.

We're here to film the rock hyrax!

Super.

Is there one of those in your magazine?

It's a "rock" hyrax, right?

He isso funny!

Ugh.

First I level the tripod

Then when nigel's ready

I frame the sh*t, and we roll!

Sometimes before I'm ready!

You two are masters of the craft.

I'm soaking you both in and I'm loving it.

Listen to that guy!

I'm going to see

What other weird life forms are around here.

Excuse me, but I got to go...

Sorry, kiddo, but I need the binoculars.

They help me see things far away...

Little things become big!

Yeah, I know.

It's magical, isn't it?

Who is that guy?

He calls me "kiddo."

Mom, dad...

This foundation guy is really annoying!

What on earth do you mean?

His father's head of the foundation

And who are his favorite naturalists?

Hmm, the thornberrys.

(Yell )

(Jabbers )

Donnie, let go right now!

Sorry about that; energetic lad.

Yeah, I noticed, heck of a grip.

Did you ever meet des broading?

We had breakfast together once.

Ooh, des in the morning!

What a way to start the day!

Actually, it was : in the afternoon.

So where's that rock hyrax?

Should've found it by now, right?

Oh, these things can take some time.

The hyrax often doesn't come out

From his little home hidden in the rocks.

Generally, only when he's hungry.

But some have been sighted at high elevations.

That's why we may have to do a bit of climbing!

Oh, cute, a very special girl

Has a little monkey friend.

Can you say "monkey" three times fast?

Monkey, monkey, monkey!

Excuse me, I have to get ready

For some rock climbing.

(Laughs ): rock climbing!

Oh, I think it's better if little girls

Just watch today, don't you?

But I always...

Monkey, monkey, monkey!

Right, "monkey."

That's very amusing.

(Jabbers )

Wait up, you guys!

Debbie's coming along?

Oh, that's a first.

All right

I officially can't stand him.

I've never seen you like this, eliza.

He treats me like I'm zero years old!

Like I have no brain!

I know that feeling.

Don't let him get to you.

Yeah, you're right.

Look, he's got me all nutty.

Forget that, come on, darwin.

(Grunting )

The elusive rock hyrax lives in the rock crevices

And is able to climb sheer cliffs thanks in no small part

To a peculiar sticky goo that oozes from its feet.

Cut!

That was great, nigel.

I got goose bumps, chills.

That was awesome!

(Chortling )

Oh, all in a day's work, you know.

Nonsense, that was special.

But I couldn't help thinking, "tag line."

Excuse me?

A catch phrase.

All the greats of broadcasting had one.

Nigel, you're great.

Why no catch phrase?

He has a point, marianne.

Uh, well, I'd never thought of it that way.

We just need something smart and catchy, like...

"An animal a day keeps the doctor away!"

But that doesn't make sense.

It's the concept, though.

How about "nigel thornberry-- your man in the jungle."

That isadorable!

I love your little girl!

So much personality!

I amnot so little!

She's right about that.

A real smarty, too.

So, where... Where were we?

Right

The tag!

I got one

And I think you're going to like it.

I can't believe this guy!

Me neither!

He had brunch with three members of penicillin!

(Gasps )

Okay, their brains will grow back someday.

This is nigel thornberry, your "creature teacher."

I love it!

It does rhyme.

But we've never done that sort of thing before.

Which is exactly why you should do it now.

Shake things up!

Hmm, I don't know about this.

Marianne, I totally understand.

When it comes to filmmaking, you are a genius.

Well, that's a strong word.

And since you're the most gifted filmmaker

Working in television

I have a little something for you.

Say hello to the auto-cam!

Goodness!

Oh, that's for me?

Oh, he's got them so snowed!

-Degree rotation, sound-activated.

Hello, I'm an animal, animal here!

Astonishing.

So, what does the camera operator do?

That's the beauty of it!

There is no camera operator!

You're free to edit, scout locations.

Twice the work in half the time.

Oh, I guess that's a good thing.

Monkey, monkey, monkey!

Please stop saying that.

Ooh, I'll show him!

Don't do anything crazy!

I think when he sees me climbing up that cliff

He'll know that I'm no little kiddy.

Oh, that's not crazy, no, not at all.

Um, hello...

This is, um... It's on the tip of...

Nigel thornberry, of course, the creature teacher

Coming to you from colorful zimbabwe.

Where the majestic vista of nature's bounty

Is on view behind you.

Whoa, whoa...

(Both screaming )

Um, hello.

Oh, my, eliza!

Nigel, I think this will be a cut!

Are you all right, poppet?

Yeah, I'm just working

On a new rope.

"How to get off" thing.

But you could hurt yourself.

And boo-boos are bad.

I'm fine!

Great, 'cause you're one important little lady.

I have an idea.

How about you stop climbing mountains

And we go have fun?

No way!

I'm going to show that gooberhead I'm no baby

If it's the last thing I do!

Nigel: well, it's not your run-of-the-mill camera.

I'm not convinced this is a good idea.

Oh!

Silly willy.

Oh, look at them over there.

They're in love with that fancy camera.

(Jabbers )

Nigel, you and I will circle around the mountain

The auto-cam will find your hyrax.

Um, you know, tom

Nigel and I usually work together

On these things.

It's probably a good idea if I come along.

But don't you see?

The whole point is to free you up

Give your genius room to breathe.

Yes, but...

You go look for the next location.

You have the eye.

Well, I suppose.

Great-- I am so excited about this.

Talk about keeping a show on track.

Ready, nigel?

Ready, marianne-- i... I... I...

I mean, let's talk.

Well, nigel

I guess I'll see you later.

Uh, yes, uh, lovely--

Um... Um, bye-bye for now.

He thinks that big camera makes him a big sh*t.

The auto-cam has found an animal.

Oh, I can't believe this guy!

(Jabbering )

Oh no, he saw me talking to you!

Then I suggest you stop talking to me.

But my secret, he knows.

What's going on here?

(Screeches ): I mean... Hi.

Kids!

Pretending she's a monkey.

Monkey, monkey, monkey.

Here's where we show up

That guy's stinking auto-cam.

Eliza, what are you doing with my cheeze crunchies?

Sorry, dar, but this is an emergency.

(Moaning )

(Jabbering )

Hey!

Eliza: there's food over here.

I'm not kidding, yummy, yummy food.

What kind of food you got, girl?

I don't think it's anything you've ever had before...

Unless you eat a lot of snack foods.

Huh?

Eliza: just try it.

Not bad.

Just hang out and eat for awhile.

Sure, I owe you one.

Come on, darwin.

Oh...

(Jabbering )

Hey, foundation guy, dad!

Your little girl wants something.

What I want is to tell you that your auto-thing

Missed a really neat animal back there.

I guess your camera's not so great.

Really, pumpkin?

That's impossible.

Want to bet? Follow me.

Take a look in there.

I think you'll be surprised.

Donnie?

She made a little joke, that's cute.

Oh, amusing diversion, poppet.

That bird still owes me one.

Nigel, you there?

Yes, love, quite there.

I have a great spot

For our next sh*t

But I wish you were with me.

I know what you mean.

In order to locate a hyrax, our friend mr. Ravenhurst

Seems heck-bent on driving the commvee up the mountainside.

Marianne: he what?

Which one of these

Is second gear?

Um, the one before third.

Got to run, love.

I'll miss you.

(Panting )

Hey, where'd you go before?

That boy of yours

Chased me away.

What language does he speak, anyway?

Quiet, you two-- you'll set off that thing again.

(Jabbering )

Ooh!

Um, this mountain is rather steep.

Perhaps we'd best go up on foot.

Ah, this baby can take it.

Oh!

Whoa, we got something, nigel.

A rock hyrax, quick, marianne... Tom.

Don't you worry, I'll get him with the auto-cam.

A... A bit more prudence might be in order.

How lame is that guy?

Not a lot of banana under the peel.

(Yelling )

Eliza! Darwin! Donnie! Oh no!

Hey, hello in there!

Ravenhurst: look, kiddo, this is no time...

Eliza: get out!

Do something!

Ravenhurst: this is bad.

Jim, bring the copter around, fast as she'll fly.

Look for the signal.

Nigel, I saw the flare.

What's wrong?

Nigel: it's the children-- come quickly!

Donnie, look out!

Whoa!

The commvee's out of control!

Okay, eventually we'll run out of mountain.

Eliza: yeah-- now!

Oh, we're saved.

I'm not so sure!

(Yelling )

Oh, my gosh, they'll hit the whitewater!

Nigel: and that isn't the half of it.

Those rapids lead directly to victoria falls.

Come on!

We can get out of this.

Ravenhurst: I don't think my watch is supposed to get wet.

I think we have a bigger problem!

It's not working!

We just need this.

We're saved!

I'll have them out of there in no time.

What's the problem?

Can't hook her up.

She's pitching too much in the current.

Let me, then.

Children, come topside, quickly!

Where's tom?

I'm busy right now. (Sobbing )

Debbie, you first!

Debbie: oh, man!

You next!

I'm right behind you.

Come on!

(Whimpering )

Nigel: eliza, quickly!

Tom, climb up here, fast.

Oh no, I'm stuck.

Hey, eagle, there's something you can do for me.

(Struggling )

I'm free!

Thank goodness you're all right.

But our commvee is, like, history.

Nigel: no, look!

Thank you so much, eliza.

I had no idea

But you, with the propeller and the rope

And the switches.

For us thornberrys, it's just another day.

But thanks for calling me eliza.

So how'd you like my new camera?

We found it a mile up the slope

And it did get a charming sh*t

Of a rock hyrax.

But if you don't mind

We thornberrys have our own way of doing things.

I'll think we'll keep things just the way they are.

Yeah, okay, just asking.

Did I tell you about the time

I met three members of intravenous?

Are you, like, trying to impress me?

That is so sad.

Have a safe trip.

Let's hope.

Eliza, you're the big hero today.

You showed that guy what thornberrys are all about.

We all did.

I'm just glad I don't have to listen to anyone

Call me "kiddo" anymore.

You are right as rain... Poppet.
