I love the tie.
It's just that, well, I wanted
to surprise you by taking you...

To that fancy restaurant
on the other side of the lake:
la casa de hoohaw.

- [ Gasps ] why, that place
costs an arm and a leg !
- [ ernest ] I know.

Oh, now, ernest,
I know business has been
a little slow for us lately.

[ ernest ]
i sure wish
we could afford it.

Don't feel bad, dear.
It was a sweet thought,

And it's the thought
that counts.

Opal, you're the best.

[ peanut ]
man, mom and dad
look so disappointed.

There's just got
to be a way to get them
to that fancy restaurant.

Let's check our piggy banks.
Maybe we have enough money.

- [ Jelly ] here, miss piggy !
- [ Peanut ] okay.

How much is that ?
Not even close to enough.
[ Groans ]

- We need to think of a plan.
- Peanut, I think it's time
for a noodle dance.

Well, I'll think,
but I'm not going to dance.

We go over the rainbow,
find a pot of gold

except I don't see
any rainbows.

Well, how about we just
pick up that fancy restaurant
and bring it over here ?

Wait a minute.
Even after we carry it
over here,

Mom and dad
still can't afford to go in.

Wait ! I know ! We could
make our own restaurant !

We could decorate the kitchen
and make a special dinner
for mom and dad !

[ Chuckling ]
well, good morning.

We have a present
for you.
Present ?

But we can't
give it to you
until later.

It's a surprise.
A surprise ?
What could it be ?

Well, we can't
tell you that.

Then it wouldn't
be a surprise.

But we can give you a hint:
don't make dinner tonight.

We got to go.
Come on !
Huh ?

[ Jelly ] this is
going to be so great !
[ Peanut, baby butter ] yeah !

Hey, wait a minute.
We've never even been
to a restaurant.

- So ?
- How are we going to decorate
the house like a restaurant...

If we don't know what
a restaurant looks like ?

Oh, yeah. I guess
we'd better ask somebody
to help us, somebody like--

[ Peanut and jelly ]
mayor jeff !

So now we need to figure out
how to make our house
look like a fancy restaurant.

Well, I haven't
been in a fancy restaurant
in a long time,

But I worked in one
when I was in school.

Here's a picture.
It was called chez chez.

Looks just like
a regular old room...

With a lot of fancy tables
and flowers...

And tablecloths
and decorations and stuff.

Hmm. Where
are you going to find
all that fancy stuff ?

We can use our own table
and decorate it !

Yeah ! And we can get flowers
down by the lake !

And draw pictures
for wall decorations !

Yeah, but how do we
get those fancy outfits ?

I think I can
help you out there.

Wow !
Look at these !

Cool !
Here you go.

Now you've got
a waiter to serve food
and a maitre d' too.

- A maitre what ?
- A maitre d'.

A maitre d'
is a very important person
in a fancy restaurant.

The maitre d'
says "oodle-ay" to the guests
and is basically in charge.

Sounds like a job
for me.
Hmph.

Okay, we're all set--
wait ! Somebody's coming !
[ footsteps approaching ]

- Aah !
- Hey, there, kids.

Are you sure
you don't want any help
with your surprise ?

Uh, don't worry, mom.
Uh, we'll take care
of everything.

Yeah, mom.
Everything's under control.

- Well--
- we're fine. Really.

Aye, aye, kids.

Well, what
are we waiting for ?
We have work to do.

Let's go, people.
I'm not paying you
to stand around.

You're not paying us,
period.
Hmph.

Oh, yeah.
Well, sorry.

Let's get to work !

there's so much

As maitre d'
of this fine restaurant,

I'm telling you,
we've thought of everything.

Okay, now, when we
bring out the food--

[ Peanut and jelly gasp ]
the food ! We forgot the food !

What are we going to do ?
We can't serve mom and dad
the decorations.

Well, hello there,
otters !
Why so glum, chums ?

We have a problem.
We wanted to make a fancy dinner
for our parents' anniversary,

But we forgot
one little detail.

- And what might that be ?
- The food.

Is that all ?
No problemo.

When our parents
have a fancy party--
which they often do--

They just call a caterer
and buy the food.

Well, that would be great,
except we don't have
any money.

Oh, well, in that case,
your situation
is absolutely hopeless.

- [ Snickering ]
- [ all grumbling ]

[ Continue snickering ]

Hi there, ootsie.
Hi, bootsie.
What's so funny ?

It's those silly otters.

Pb&j were going
to make a fancy dinner
for their parents--

And they forgot
to get food !
[ Both snickering ]

Gee, I guess
in all the excitement, we
forgot to talk about the food.

I have to go, kids.

[ Both ]
huh ?

Hey, what if we
plant some seeds, then--

Oh, never mind.
[ All ]
hmm.

Kids, it's getting
near dinner time.

How's it all going ?
Good.
Everything's great.

Can I come in ?
[ jelly ]
no, ma'am.

[ peanut ]
just give us
a little more time, please ?

Well, all right,
but it is getting late,

And your father
will be home soon.

Oh, man.
Mom and dad are going
to be so disappointed.

Yeah. Instead of
a big, fancy dinner,
we'll be serving air.

There has to be a way
to solve this; I just know it.
I can practically smell it.

That's funny.
I can smell it too.

[ Sniffing ]
yummy.

[ Gasping ]

Anyone here
need some fancy food
for their fancy restaurant ?

[ Pb&j ] wow.
When mayor jeff told us
he needed help,

We all pitched in
and made something
for your parents' anniversary.

And when ootsie and bootsie
told us you needed help,

Georgina almost
actually cooked something.

Then I came to my senses
and called our caterer.

I decorated the cake.

We're so happy
we could help you and your folks
celebrate their anniversary.

Oh, man. How can
we ever thank you ?

Nonsense.
That's what lake hoohaw
is all about.

Thank you, everyone.

[ All chattering,
laughing ]

I would like to propose a toast
to our dear friends,
opal and ernest.

Lake hoohaw
wouldn't be the same
without you.

That's right.
So here's to
two mighty fine otters.

[ jelly ]
well, we had a little help.

Oh, you kids
are what's special
about this anniversary.

That's right, pb&j.
Now, what were you saying
about dessert ?

- We have babbleberry pie.
- [ ernest ]
mmm.

- Clamberry cake.
- mmm.

- And tuna fish ice cream.
- [ slurping ]

[ jelly ]
butter !
[ burps ]

I think we're
fresh out of ice cream.

[ All laughing ]

Well, kids, what do you
think of our new alarm bell ?
Cool ! Can I try it ?

- this one's for
emergency use only.
- no, butter !

- [ Bell ringing ]
- [ babbling ]

What-what ? What's going on ?
Is there an emergency ?

Everything's fine, dear.
False alarm.

See, butter,
when we ring the bell,
people come to help,

So we only ring the bell
if we see trouble.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
[ Peanut and jelly ]
thanks, cap'n crane.

Boy, just imagine
ringing that bell
and ending up a hero.

- "Hewo" ?
- That's somebody
who saves people from trouble.

You know,
it's such a sleepy day.
[ Yawns ]

Guess I'll just sit here
and think about that
a while.

Peanut play ?

[ Snoring ]

Me peanut.
[ Giggles ]

[ Continues snoring ]

What a sleepy day.

[ Yawns ]

I can barely keep my eye--
[ snores ]

[ Gasps ]
uh-oh.

[ Snorting ]

Ding, ding, ding,
ding, ding, ding.

[ cap'n crane's voice ]
if you see trouble,
ring the bell.

[ Bell ringing ]

[ Mumbling sleepily ]
watchbird alert.

I-isn't that peanut's cap ?
Yes, that must be peanut.

[ Both gasp ]

Oh, my ! Wanda. Hoo-hoo !
Look out ! Wake up !
Wanda ! Wanda, look out !

[ Gasps ]

- Hoo ! Hoo-hoo.
- I'm okay. Thanks a lot.

[ Continues snoring ]

- [ camera shutter clicking ]
- [ all shout congratulations ]

My hero. How
can I ever thank you ?
Huh ?

Peanut, on behalf
of the whole lake,

It's my pleasure
to present you with this
special hoohaw medal of honor.

You saved wanda raccoon.

I did ?
Of course you did. We
saw you ring the bell.

And when I heard
captain and connie yelling,

I woke up and was able
to steer away from the dock.

Wow. My brother--
a real hero.

But i-- i-i really
didn't do anything.

Oh, such a modest boy.

Come on, everybody.
Let's give a cheer to peanut.

or maybe a movie.

And when you have a moment,
I'd like you to take a look
at this contract for peanut.

I'm sure you'll

My company
is looking for a hero,
and your son is a hero.

[ All chattering ]

Now what, mayor jeff ?

The moment we've all
been waiting for, peanut.

Now you'll make your speech
and tell us all exactly how
you saved the day !

I'm a little tired out

[ yawns ]

uh, saving and stuff.

So if everyone would excuse me,
I think I'll just go hide--

[ audience protesting ]

- [ All ] yea !
- Uh, I'm just going to
have a glass of water first.

Saving people
really works up a thirst.

Go right ahead.

I mean, really good.

than the first.

That's good drinkin'.

Uh, do we have any more
of this delicious water ?

Well, there might be
some more backstage.

Great. I'll

[ Grunts ]

[ All chanting ]

Okay, jelly.
I have to tell you something,

But you have to promise
you won't get mad at me.

What is it ?

I didn't ring the bell,
and I'm not a hero.

I was sleeping.

I don't know
who rang the bell,
but it wasn't me.

You let everybody
think you rang the bell
even though you didn't ?

Peanut, how could you
do something like that ?

Well, I tried
to tell everybody, but--
ohh, I was weak.

Okay, peanut, listen to me.
We can solve this;
I know it.

- We just need a plan.
- Ding, ding, ding,
ding, ding, ding.

I got it !
We'll do a noodle dance...

To try and figure out
who the real hero is.

Then you can tell everyone
and explain what happened.

A noodle dance,
huh ? Hmm.

I never thought I'd say this,
but I think I'll do
some thinking and dancing.

- What ?
- Hey, it's an emergency.

We'll just
get in our time machine,
go back in time...

And see
who rang the bell.

That would be great,
but I thought you
didn't have a time machine.

Oh, yeah.
I keep forgetting.

We're trying to figure out
who the real hero is.

Okay, how about this ?
What if I retrace my steps ?

That's kind of like a
time machine. All we have to do
is go back to where we were...

And do what we were doing
when everybody thought
I rang the bell.

It's worth a try.

[ peanut ]
okay. I was
right about here.

- Ding, ding, ding,
ding, ding, ding.
- [ Both ] butter ?

- Bell, bell !
- Butter must've put on my cap--

And the watchbird saw her
but thought it was you
ringing the bell.

Let's go !

So as you can see,
ladies and gentlemen, we here
at awful good pet foods...

are committed
to giving you excellent food
at a very reasonable price.

- Hello, everybody.
- [ audience ]
hooray !

That was a real,
uh, treat.

[ audience cheering ]

Everyone, I have something
important to tell you.

- [ All ] huh ?

I'm not the hero.

- [ All ] ohh !
- See, I was taking a nap,
then butter put on my cap.

When she saw
wanda was in trouble,
she ran and rang the bell...

like cap'n crane
showed us how to do.

I tried to tell everyone
the truth, honest.

But everyone
was talking so fast, and then
I was having so much fun,

And, well, I guess
I just got carried away.

i'm sorry. I should've
told you all sooner.

And now I want
to bring the real hero
up here.

Ladies and gentlemen,
my brave little sister,
butter otter.

[ All ]
hooray for butter !

Hold on, folks.
J-just a minute.

I think
we have two heroes here--
butter for ringing the bell,

And peanut
for having the courage
to tell the truth.

It takes a very brave person
to get up...

In front of a big crowd
and tell them
something difficult.

I know how nervous

solve the mystery
