- [Phil] Previously on "The Amazing Race."

The ancient Egyptian sphinx was the starting point

for the seven remaining teams.

Colin and Christie departed first

with a commanding seven hour lead on the other teams.

- [Colin] Let's go baby.

- [Phil] While Linda and Karen,

last to arrive in the previous non-elimination leg,

were stripped of all their money.

- So we were begging for money.

- [Karen] Oh my gosh, this is hard.

- [Phil] Through their determination and a little luck,

the bowling moms were able to catch

all the other teams at the Cairo Airport.

- [Linda] They're still here, Karen.

- [Karen] No way.

- [Linda] Hi everybody.

[Linda and Karen laughing]

- [Phil] Where rival teams Colin and Christie

and Charla and Mirna squared off over a taxi.

- This is our cab right here.

We never [censored] left it.

- [Christie] Get out.

- [Mirna] These people are maniacs.

- In Luxor, Marshall's sore knees dropped the brothers

to the back of the pack.

- My knees are k*lling me.

- [Phil] The bowling moms fell behind again

at the roadblock.

- Can't find it.

- [Phil] But it was the brother team Marshall and Lance

who were unable to finish and were eliminated.

- [Marshall] Game over. We lost.

- [Phil] Six teams remain.

Who will be eliminated next?

[dramatic theme music]

[dramatic theme music continues]

[dramatic Middle Eastern music]

- This is Luxor, on the banks of the Nile river.

In ancient times, this area was known as Thebes,

capital of the Egyptian empire

for more than a thousand years.

And just up river from the city is Crocodile Island.

This lush plantation in the middle of the Nile

was the sixth pit stop in a race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period that allows them to eat,

sleep and mingle with the other teams.

Will the hostility between Colin and Christie

and Charla and Mirna fuel these teams' drive to win

even more or lead to their demise?

And after two close calls,

will Linda and Karen get out of the back of the pack?

Colin and Christie, who were the first to arrive

at : PM will depart at : AM.

- Fly to Nairobi, Kenya.

Once there, sign up for a chartered flight

to a mystery destination.

- [Phil] Teams must take one of these marked taxis

to the Luxor Airport.

They've been given tickets on any EgyptAir flight to Cairo.

The first flight departs at : AM,

the next flight at : AM.

In Cairo, they must find

the quickest flight to Nairobi, Kenya,

where they'll sign up for a charter flight

to a mystery location.

- We have $ for this leg of the race.

- , $. Okay, great.

Let's do it.

- [Christie] We are trying not to get too confident,

too overconfident. - Who's the fastest?

- You can come in first one leg

and you can be eliminated the very next leg.

So we just have to get the earliest flight.

- Whoa.

Fly to Nairobi, Kenya.

- [Kim] We're gonna go to Cairo

and then book the tickets to Nairobi.

Chip and I feel that we can really win this race now.

I mean, we're working together,

we're doing everything right now.

- It's the more brain power than, than brawn.

That's what it's gonna take to win this race.

- Okay.

Fly to Nairobi, Kenya.

- [Both] Woo!

- I feel like now that we're in third place,

we actually have a chance to come in first place.

We just have to be in control of what we're doing.

Okay.

We need to get there fast.

[upbeat Middle Eastern music]

- [Colin] Okay.

Feel pretty good about being able

to get some sort of EgyptAir flight

before the : AM flight leaves.

- So we have to just go to EgyptAir right now to.

- [Kim] To get to Cairo.

- Fly to Nairobi, Kenya.

Got it? - Yep, got it.

- Let's go.

I put my confidence and my trust in the Lord.

Not necessarily assuming that it's in his plan

for Nicky and I to win, but you never know.

We're on our way to Kenya.

And then once we get to Kenya,

we have to sign up for a charter flight

to a mystery destination.

- I absolutely loved Egypt.

The people were so friendly.

- Thank you so much.

- Thank you. - Woo!

[Charla and Mirna laughing]

- That was...

- Um...

- That was...

There's something wrong.

- Oh, crap.

[Mirna laughs]

- Oh, fly to Nairobi, Kenya.

Let's get the heck out here.

People don't underestimate us anymore.

Maybe they even overestimate us.

I think some of them are so scared

that they think we're, we're too capable.

- [Charla] We're having a good time.

- And we're not gonna let anyone take that away from us.

Let's hurry up, Charla.

- [Charla] I'm trying.

- [Mirna] We need a marked taxi.

- Fly to Nairobi, Kenya.

Once there, sign up for a chartered flight

to a mystery destination.

[Karen gasps]

This is so cool.

- Linda' has to keep pickin' me up

'cause I get down 'cause we're at the end.

- I'm trying to keep an upbeat attitude the whole time

and I'm trying to cheer Karen up

and keep me up and it's tough.

[Mirna speaking in foreign language]

- [Karen] The Luxor Airport? Okay.

Let's go, let's go! - Thank you.

- [Karen] Get in, get in!

- You give telephone, we give dollar.

- Goodbye, Luxor.

On to Kenya.

- We need to make reservations on EgyptAir.

Oh sh**t, the first one's at seven.

- It's minutes to seven.

[dramatic music]

- [Colin] We got tickets on the earliest possible flight.

- [Chip] Yeah, we have tickets, baby.

- [Karli] We have the earliest flight.

- Thank you. - Hope to see you next time.

In Luxor. - Thank you.

[people chattering]

- [Colin] It's great.

[tense music]

- They're still here. - No way.

- Hurry up. - Okay.

- It's delayed half an hour.

Everything is always delayed in this country.

- [Colin] This means that all the teams

are gonna catch up with us.

- [Brandon] We're on this fight.

[Mirna speaking in foreign language]

- [Mirna] We got really good seats I think.

- And have a good flight.

- Thank you so much.

Let's go, come on. - You got 'em?

- Hit it. - Okay.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] The six teams are now on their way to Cairo, Egypt.

Once there, they'll have to take a taxi

to the new international airport

to figure out the best flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

[singer vocalizing]

- [Charla] Bye bye.

Mirna, it said we had to go outside

to get the taxis to take us to the terminal.

Go, just go.

- [Colin] Go, babe.

- [Karli] There they are.

- [Christie] New. New airport.

- Let's go.

Fast, put your bag. I already talked to him.

- Okay.

- International airport, KenyaAir.

Very fast, very fast.

[dramatic music]

- We gotta get to the new airport.

We're at the old airport,

but we're at the wrong terminal to book tickets to Kenya.

- Nairobi, Kenya.

- [Driver] Okay.

[Charla speaks in foreign language]

- Let us pass! Wait, habibi!

- Where are we going? - The other terminal,

the other terminal.

- But what? Where are we going?

- To book tickets to Kenya, Narobia.

Nairobi, Kenya. [both laughing]

[dramatic music]

- We have to go faster. No, they can't pass us.

- Fast, fast, go like this.

- Okay, habibi, please go.

Please.

Please.

[Charla and Mirna speaking foreign language]

[dramatic music]

- [Brandon] No, no, no, no, no, no.

- [Nicole] No.

No passing. [cars honking]

No passing.

[Charla and Mirna cheering]

- [Kami] Come on, come on, come on, come on.

[upbeat Middle Eastern music]

Can you help me?

I have to get to Kenya, Africa as soon as possible.

- [Employee] The office will open at AM.

- This morning?

- No, no, open your door, open your door.

- [Christie] Come on, Colin.

[dramatic music]

- [Mirna] Excuse me.

- [Christie] Come on, Colin.

- [Mirna] Can you move out of the way?

Ass.

Bitch, move out of the way.

Hello.

KenyaAir line. Where is KenyaAir line?

- [Employee] Closed.

- Thank you.

- [Linda] Come on. Let's go.

- Did you see me?

When I got to the thing,

I just stood in the doorway like this.

- 'Cause she'll go up in there.

- And she was like move out the way,

you [censored] bitch.

- She said that to you?

- That Christie is such a bitch.

She blocked the doors like this against Charla.

Is one evil bitch.

[Christie laughs]

Christie was blocking the airport doors

as if she has control over the whole airport.

- [Colin] Hey, like we all wanna eventually help each other-

- [Nicole] Yeah.

- So Mirna and Charla don't beat us?

- Even though they're the scum of the earth,

they think they own the earth.

- We got it. - You guys are in?

- Yeah, we're in.

- [Colin] We're gonna see if Chip and Kim are in, too.

- Colin and Christie are not wanting

to necessarily give our information

to Mirna and Charla,

but Brandon and I don't feel that way.

We're just kind of following the group.

- Here's how it works.

If you're in, we all share information.

If you're not in, you get no information anymore, okay?

So Colin and I decided we just didn't

wanna share information with Mirna and Charla.

- [Colin] Mirna is very blatantly, like, rude to us

and she tries to pit a lot of teams against us.

- He leaches onto weak people

and gets rid of 'em one at a time.

One at a time.

And these people are so weak, they can't even see it.

- [Linda] Well, you know what?

You buy the tickets.

- [Mirna] I will do yours.

- I love you, Mirna.

We've been watching the game too much

and I know Colin and Christie are good,

but dammit, Charlotte and Mirna are better.

I love 'em.

- [Kim] So they wanna do the pack?

- Everyone's working together.

We're gonna book seats for everyone.

This first flight we find.

- I'm willing and able.

- There is a Mirna camp and a Colin camp.

And really it's like the Clash of the Titans.

They can't stand each other.

- [Kim] Colin and Mirna are really,

really competing against each other

and hopefully they're gonna knack each other

out of this race.

- [Colin] Let's walk over to Swiss.

Let's see where it lands. - Okay.

- [Colin] Good it's open, huh?

- [Christie] What city do you go through, what-

- [Employee] From Zurich to Nairobi.

Departs tomorrow.

- [Christie] To Zurich?

Oh that's good. - Yeah.

- Inside the Swiss airline, it's Kami, my partner,

Chip and Kim,

Christie and Colin

and Brandon and Nicky trying to buy tickets

that leave tomorrow night late.

- What?

- Let's go to Gulf Air, right next door, which is open.

- Well let's go.

- [Mirna] So we can buy here?

- Okay, no problem.

- Everything clears?

[employee speaks in foreign language]

- Oh my god, that's so good.

We're going Abu Dhabi.

And then from Abu Dhabi, we going Nairobi

and we arriving Nairobi : AM tomorrow morning.

Oh, yes.

- Okay.

- Shh, shh.

Everyone hide.

- Hide, hide.

[quirky music]

- Where are Mirna and them?

What tickets are they getting?

They may know something else that we don't know.

- Gulf Air. It's open.

Christie, come on.

- Oh.

[Mirna speaking in foreign language]

[Mirna speaking in foreign language]

- I told the man don't help these people.

I said they're violent, which is the truth.

Actually, it's too many people.

Jerk found us one way or another.

Followers are back again. [laughs]

- Don't worry, don't worry.

- She's telling them not to sell us tickets.

- [Kami] Bitch.

Are they better, do you think?

- I have no idea.

I mean, these seem like the best possible one.

[people chattering]

- [Charla] We're intimidating back when we're smiling

because they are boiling.

[dramatic music]

- Ya-hoo!

[Karen laughing]

Let's see what we got, let's see what we got.

- Love you ticket. - Mwah!

- [Christie] What time does it arrive?

- [Employee] Tomorrow morning at :.

- [Christie] Tomorrow morning at :?

- [Chip] That's good.

- I don't even know why we did Swiss Air.

- Are there seats available on that flight?

- [Employee] I don't know.

- You don't know?

- Colin's an idiot.

[dramatic music]

- Thank you.

Bahrain, here we come!

- [Employee] Boarding pass, please.

- That Swiss decision was the stupidest decision

any of us have ever made. [dramatic music]

[dramatic music]

- [Karli] We're idiots.

We should have done our own thing.

- We are going to pay as much as we can for any ticket.

[Linda grunts]

- [Mirna] Yes.

Let's relax.

[dramatic music]

- [Employee] We can take all of you.

- I feel better.

[dramatic music]

- [Mirna] Everybody else at last possible second

all get on the same fight with us.

I felt genuinely terrible.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] The six teams are now flying to Nairobi, Kenya.

Their first stop is Bahrain.

- [Charla] Can you put us on an earlier flight, please?

- [Mirna] Colin and Christine and the other teams

have no idea what we're doing.

- What happened to Mirna and Charla?

- Every minute matters.

So we just go straight.

Okay, first we were going to Abu Dhabi.

I changed those tickets.

Now we're going to Dubai.

Bravo, Mirna, bravo.

- Hopefully we will arrive a half an hour

before the other teams.

- It's a gamble.

- [Phil] Charla and Mirna and Linda and Karen

are flying to Nairobi.

But first must change planes in Dubai.

Colin and Christie, Chip and Kim,

Brandon and Nicole and Kami and Karli

are scheduled to arrive in Nairobi a half hour later,

after changing planes in Abu Dhabi.

[dramatic music]

- [Charla] Oh, no!

- [Mirna] We get to Dubai expecting to get on our flight

that gets into Nairobi at : AM

and our flight is delayed a couple hours.

- [Charla] When they said it was delayed,

it was truly a sad moment.

- Now we're behind the pack again.

Seems like it's the story of our life.

- So we have to keep our fingers crossed

that fate is on our side.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] When teams arrive in Nairobi,

they must sign up for one of three charter flights

leaving at : AM, : AM and : AM

and fly to their mystery location.

[dramatic music]

- Oh, there it is.

: AM.

- [Chip] Babe.

Let me sign in and you sign in.

- [Colin] Okay.

They're not here.

They're not here.

All right. [racers cheering]

We thought that the moms and the cousins would beat us here

and all of us on our flight

got on the first two charter fights,

so we're very excited about that.

[dramatic music]

- Africa!

Woo hoo!

- [Christie] I'm so excited.

- This is so cool.

- I mean here we are, Nairobi, Kenya

on a prop plane, not knowing where we're gonna go next.

There's Mirna and Charla and the moms.

- [Mirna] Hello.

- We just saw Mirna and Charla and the moms.

- Is there room in charter one?

There's room in charter three?

[dramatic music]

- Last again. [laughs]

- That's okay.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music] - Man, oh, man.

- Oh!

Right there is Mount- - Mount Kilimanjaro.

- Mount Kilimanjaro.

The tallest peak in Africa. Beautiful.

Look at that. Mount Kilimanjaro, baby.

- [Karli] Woo-hoo!

[dramatic music]

- [Nicole] Oh my gosh.

It's a symbol of God's promise.

- [Charla] We've never been in a plane like this before.

I'm gonna die. - Please don't make us slow.

- We don't know where we're going. Mystery location.

[upbeat music]

- [Colin] We're in Tanzania.

- Unbelievable.

We're really in Africa.

Africa! [laughs]

It's right over there.

Route info. - Uh-oh.

- Welcome to Tanzania.

- [Phil] Teams must now take a bus

approximately miles to the town of Mto Wa Mbu

where they'll find their next clue.

- Okay. - Thank you.

- Let's go. Let's just go to the bus station.

[upbeat percussive music] [cars honking]

This the bus station? - Yeah.

[people speaking in foreign language]

- What's the fastest?

- Follow me. - Who is the fastest?

- [Colin] All right, we gotta go now.

- Let's get a bus. - Okay.

- [Guide] Mto Wa Mbu.

- [Christie] Oh my god, it smells so bad in here.

[people chattering]

- Hey, what's up my man?

- [Kim] How much did they charge you?

- [Colin] Five dollars.

- [Kim] Yeah, that's what he charged us.

- Okay, let's do it, baby. Let's do it.

Yoo hoo!

- Man, this is something else, boy.

[inspirational music]

- [Kim] I've always wanted to come to Africa,

ever since I was a little girl

just learning about my history, my heritage,

and just to be here just means so much.

[inspirational music]

- [Nicole] We're in Tanzania.

- Read.

- You must be travel by bus to the town of Mto Wa Mbu.

- [Kami] Uh, Mto Wa Mbu?

Mto Wa...

- [Guide] Follow me, man.

[people chattering]

- So $? - Yeah.

- When does this bus leave? - We leave now.

- We have to go now. - No problem.

- [Brandon] Let's go.

[Brandon snaps fingers]

We need to go now.

We'll five you $.

- $ for all of us. - $.

- No. - No.

$, all of us go right now.

- , start now.

- There's people behind us.

- [Driver] Okay, you can pay one and a half hundred.

- [Karli] No, no.

- [Driver] $.

- Give me all your money. - I don't like this.

- These guys are shady. I don't know what their problem is.

- [Nicole] We're getting off.

- Let me off.

Let me off.

- No, no, no, no, you guys are [censored] with us.

- Let me off. - No!

- [Kami] Jump out the window!

- Babe, are you sure this is safe?

- $, you leave right now.

- [Guide] Listen-

- I'm tired of this. - Is he going now?

- [Driver] Yeah.

[dramatic music]

- [Charla] Yay, we got here.

- You must travel by bus to the town of...

- Mto Wa Mbu.

[upbeat percussive music]

- [Colin] Oh, there it is.

- [Kim] What does it say, babe?

- Detour. - It's a detour.

- A detour's a choice between two tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams have to choose

between Buzzing and Busy.

In Buzzing, teams must choose one bicycle per team

and ride to this honey farm,

put on beekeeper suits and work together

to harvest two kilograms of honey

from these traditional African hives.

Teams are likely to be covered in hundreds of African bees,

but if they can face their fear,

they should be able to finish fast.

In Busy, teams must find this furniture store,

load two chairs onto a cart

and deliver them to a specific address in town.

Each delivery address is different,

some near and some far,

but all are difficult to find

because addresses are not clearly marked in this town.

Once they've delivered the chairs,

they must get a receipt and bring it back

to the furniture store to receive their next clue.

There's nothing scary about this task,

but finding the right address in this rural town

could take& quite a while.

- Buzzing or Busy.

I'm thinking buzzing might be the best.

- You don't mind being all in the bees, though, right?

You're harvesting honeycomb.

- [Kim] I don't like that, you know, what with the bees.

- We're gonna search for a nearby Katongo.

- [Colin] Okay.

- [Christie] Here are the chairs.

Each set of chairs has a different delivery address

attached to it.

- [Colin] Which is the closest address?

- You know that address?

- Yeah. - Yeah, let's-

- You're sure? Are you sure?

Okay.

- Do you know where this is?

- [Chip] Which way?

- [Worker] That way.

- [Kim] Okay, come on.

- [Colin] Show us where it is, okay?

Put your bag in here, baby.

Okay.

- [Kim] Thank you guys for helping.

This is it? - Yeah.

- [Kim] Look at the address.

- Is this here right here? - No, it's over there.

- Okay. - We need to go over there.

- [Kim] That's what I said.

[villager speaking in foreign language]

- No! - Oh okay, no, no.

We not gonna buy no pillows.

- No, we don't need the pillow.

- [Kim] That's good thinkin'

- He took me and Kim to a place where you get pads

and I said, hey man, we don't wanna get

all the accoutrements with the doggone thing.

We just want to deliver the chairs

where we wanna deliver 'em.

[dramatic music]

- You can pay now. - We take your pay now.

- Can I give you half now- - No.

No.

- You're supposed to pay full. - Full.

- I don't know if you're a trustworthy man.

I need you to take me here

and when you get me there,

I will give you the money.

- [Guide ] All right.

- [Karli] It's just very intimidating.

Thankfully we had Brandon there to step in.

- We're taking a bus on blind faith

that you're even gonna get anywhere.

Mirna and Charla and the bowling moms,

I have no idea how they'll do.

- [Charla] Three dollars.

- Let's go, come on, habibi, we don't have all day.

Come on, come on, we go!

Getting sick, I'm gonna vomit now.

- [Guide] We go.

- All right! - Yay!

- [Christie] Must go faster or else we won't pay you.

- Thank you. - Thank you.

- It's way up there? - Over there.

- Here?

Yes, hello, how are you? - Oh thank you.

Get a receipt, baby.

- [Christie] Yes.

- [Colin] Let's just go.

[guide speaking in foreign language]

- Down here? - Here.

- [Kim] We got a delivery.

- How you doin'?

- Welcome, welcome.

- So you want the chair? - We have a delivery for you.

We have some chairs.

How are you?

[villagers speaking in foreign language]

- [Chip] How you doin'?

- [Kim] There go your chairs.

- Have a sit, have a seat. - Oh, okay.

- [Chip] Thank you.

Thank you.

[inspirational music]

People, everywhere I turn, people look like me.

It's not something that we get to experience every day

and it's just a beautiful, beautiful thing.

- Bye bye. - Thank you so much.

- She wanna give you food.

- [Kim] The people here are fabulous.

They have made us feel so welcome.

- Thank you. - Thank you.

- Thank you so much. Appreciate it.

- Thank you, that was awesome.

Get you a piece. This is great.

Thank you.

[dramatic music]

- What are we doing? - Now we're stopping.

- [Guide] A problem.

Fuel's run out.

- Is it broken down?

- [Guide] We shall send someone there.

- It's not too far. - Oh my god.

- [Guide] Hello, we are here for you. No problem.

Don't you worry, everything okay.

- We're out of gas.

Well how long to get the gas to bring it here?

- [Guide] Okay.

- That guy who is running.

- [Kami] The guy that just left now?

- Yes. - We gotta get there fast,

before the other people catch us.

We're in a race.

- A city. - Oh my god, it's Brandon.

- [Charla] Are you serious?

- We just saw Brandon walking around the backside of a bus.

- [Linda] Oh my god.

How did we catch up?

- We were on the second chartered flight

and now we're on a bus that's broken down, outta gas,

that I don't even know is gonna get us

to where we need to go.

Lord, please help us get there.

[tense music]

[tense music]

- [Kami] We have cause to be upset,

don't you think? - Yeah, no yeah.

- We're broken down on the middle of the road.

[dramatic music]

[people clapping]

- [Guide] You pay for the fuel.

- [Brandon] Okay.

now. Okay, let's go, let's go, let's go.

[tense music]

- Receipt.

Thank you.

Make your way to Kibaoni.

- [Phil] Teams must now make their way

to the nearby village of Kibaoni

and search for the Kavishe Hotel

where they'll find their next clue.

- [Colin] Kavishe Hotel.

- [Linda] This is the potty break.

- [Karen] I guess this is the potty stop.

- [Linda] Okay, let's go! Vamanos!

[soft instrumental music]

- Oh, that's them.

Mirna and Charla and the bowling moms.

I didn't know that the bowling moms had passed us.

I feel better about that.

- Thank you. - Thank you.

- Search for the Kavishe Hotel.

[dramatic music]

- [Colin] Kavishe Hotel?

- Near. - Near?

- [Colin] Is there a sign, Kavishe Hotel?

Yeah? Okay.

[dramatic music]

- [Brandon] Come on, guys.

- [Karli] Okay.

- [Brandon] Where's the flag, Nic?

- Baby, there's a box right there.

- Oh there it is.

- [Kami] There you go.

- [Karli] Oh it's over there. It's right here.

- [Brandon] Hey.

We gave you for gas.

- Do you all already pay him? - Yeah.

- [Guide] Want $.

- But you broke down. - No, no, no, no.

- Yes, yes, yes.

No, we're not paying anymore.

- Because you broke down. - No, no, no, no.

I want $, okay? - Brandon, we gotta go.

- [Brandon] Buzzing or Busy?

- [Nicole] Hold on!

- [Brandon] Buzzing, choose a marked bicycle...

- Hello, listen to me my friend.

Hello. - Get out of my face.

Get out of my face. - Okay, listen.

- No. - Why, why, why are you-

- No because you stopped-

Don't hit me. - Give me, give me $.

- Don't hit me.

- [Brandon] Babe, they're slowing us down.

- [Nicole] Brandon, what do you want me to do?

- Give him the other .

- What? more dollars?

- [Guide] more, more, I want more.

- You know what? - more.

- Here's your more. Get it.

- [Brandon] Baby, baby.

- [Guide] You're a fool.

- Here.

Thank you.

- No, I don't talk with you.

- I just so wanted to get us out of that situation

'cause it felt dangerous, it felt unsafe.

- Busy.

Search on foot for the nearby Katongo Furniture Shop.

I think we should do busy.

- Hey girls, what are y'all doing?

- [Karli] We're gonna do the furniture.

- [Kami] You know where this is?

[villager speaks in foreign language]

You know where that is?

- Hey, are we going to the same place?

- No.

- [Kami] No, you're pushing it too far. That hurts.

- You know where that is? - Yeah, yeah.

- [Nicole] Oh my gosh.

- [Karli] One, two, three.

[twins grunting]

Slow.

Gotta hold it up somewhat. - I am.

- [Brandon] Nic, are you coming, babe?

- [Nicole] Baby, I can't run. Don't run.

- [Brandon] Okay, sorry.

- [Karen] Is this it?

- It's a detour.

Detour, Buzzing or Busy.

Where is the Katongo's Furniture Shop?

- [Linda] Do you wanna try the bicycle?

- [Villager] Over here.

- [Charla] Show us, show us.

- Come on, come on. - Okay, we're gonna

choose the furniture.

[dramatic music]

- Roadblock.

- Oh my god.

I guess I'm doing it.

- A roadblock is a task

that only one person may perform.

In this roadblock, that person has to summon

the intestinal fortitude to devour an African delicacy:

an ostrich egg. [dramatic music]

Team members must open the egg shell

and pour a portion of the egg into a wooden bowl.

The restaurant owner will only allow the team member

to start cooking the egg if the bowl is completely full.

Then, they must cook the egg

which equals about two dozen chicken eggs

and eat it all to receive their next clue.

- Okay.

- You'll do it? - I'm doing it.

- That's not bad at all. - Yeah, that's not bad at all.

Yeah.

I'm really bad at eating foods.

I have a really sensitive gag reflex.

Christie had to eat the caviar in Russia,

so clearly I was not gonna make her do this.

- Okay, it says open the ostrich egg

and pour enough into the wooden bowl

to fill it to the very top.

Very careful.

- Okay.

- [Christie] Watch out.

Oh, I can't help you.

You gotta pick it up.

- [Colin] So much for egg white omelet.

- You can always pick up off the mat.

- No, that's good. That's full.

Okay.

- [Christie] Do you wanna?

- [Restaurant Owner] No good.

- No good? - No good.

- [Colin] I'll put some more in it.

I'll put this in there.

- [Restaurant Owner] No, no, no.

- Why not?

- [Worker] Do it again. Must be full.

- What the [censored]?

[Colin grunts]

- [Chip] The Kavishe Hotel.

Where is the Kavishe Hotel?

[dramatic music]

- [Colin] That's completely full.

- [Christie] Colin, it's falling!

- [Colin] Sorry!

[bowl thuds]

[dramatic music]

[Kami panting]

- [Kami] Hold it up with this one

and push it down at this one.

- [Brandon] I'm gonna jog for a minute.

- [Nicole] Baby, I cannot run with you!

- [Brandon] I'm not running. I'm walking.

Nicky just kind of gave up.

She's not very strong physically.

I just felt like I was kind of pulling her along.

- [Charla] All right, Mirna, let's lift the chair!

- [Linda] Thank you so much.

- [Charla] You gonna show us where it is?

[dramatic music]

Oh, there's a puddle here, Mirna.

Oh we should've went the other way.

We're gonna be stuck in the puddle!

- Here? - Where do we go?

- [Worker] Put it into place.

- All right, come on.

- [Charla] They're gonna be stuck in the puddle, Mirna.

- [Karen] Linda, are we gonna get stuck?

- [Linda] You gotta push, Karen.

- [Karen] Okay, I'm pushin'.

- [Linda] One, two, three, go!

- [Karen] Go, Linda!

- [Mirna] Charla, they're not stuck.

You're making us go a lot further.

- [Charla] We're screwed.

[dramatic music]

- Right, right, right. - Right.

[Linda chuckles]

- [Karen] Woo hoo!

- [Charla] Oh, my heart is gonna stop.

- Okay, just let it go.

I'll do it by myself.

[Charla grunts]

Charla, just let it go if your heart is gonna stop.

- That's good, that's good. - Okay, that is full.

Overflowed that bitch.

- [Christie] You'll be fine.

It's just a big scrambled egg.

- I know.

- [Christie] You should definitely be able to do that.

- [Colin] There's another team coming right now.

- [Christie] I know.

- Roadblock.

Oh, who's really hungry? [laughs]

- You. - The trooper.

- [Kim] Baby, this is your specialty, scrambled eggs.

You gotta fill it to the top.

- Is that cool? - Yes.

- Okay, cool.

Now put it in here?

I should have put some oil in it, I'm sure.

[dramatic music]

- [Kim] That looks done, Colin, to me.

- Yeah, I want it cooked more.

- Colin, there's teams behind us.

Just, let's make sure those teams.

- There are?

[dramatic music]

- Wait. - Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

- [Customer] Thank you, thank you.

- Thank you.

Thank you, bye.

Far? Close?

[dramatic music]

- [Linda] Oh, here comes Brandon and Nikki.

- This way? - Okay, shortcut.

- [Karen] Can we go that way?

We took a back street to the back door of the house.

Right here? - Yeah.

- In this house? - Yeah.

- [Nicole] How far is it?

- [Brandon] Babe, close.

- Is that the receipt? - Yes.

- [Karen] Okay.

- [Charla] Not yet?

This is crazy.

- Thank you.

It's your turn.

- Kavishe Hotel to receive your next clue.

- [Brandon] Is this it?

Receipt?

Thank you. - Thank you.

- [Brandon] Oh, there's Charla.

- [Nicole] Oh, babe.

- [Mirna] I guess they're only

a couple of minutes in front of then.

- [Charla] Where is it? Where is it?

What? - Okay, here.

- Mirna. - Payment of two chairs.

- Oh, okay, thank you. Payment of two chairs.

- Receipt? The receipt.

Thank you so much.

- Did y'all do it? - Yeah.

- This? - Yeah!

- Okay, route info.

- [Charla] I'm tired.

- Let's sit down to lunch, baby.

- [Kim] Oh.

- Thank you, Father, for this food I'm about to receive

to nourish my body.

Through Christ's sake, amen.

- [Kim] It looks good.

- [Chip] I was the Michael Jordan of eating the caviar.

[Chip burps]

[Chip and Kim laugh]

But the eggs, that was much harder than the caviar

due to the fact that you can't just swallow this stuff.

You have to chew it, too.

- [Christie] You want your space? Okay.

Yeah, mix it around. Don't eat too fast.

You don't wanna get sick.

Just get it all the way down.

- It's difficult to swallow it.

It's just, it's very hard.

It like sticks on your throat going down.

I should have just cooked it more.

I'm telling you, it's like raw eggs.

I'm just saying I would be able to eat it so fast

if it was cooked.

Cooking these eggs a little bit more.

It's just hard as heck to get 'em down.

[dramatic music]

- [Mirna] Can you carry my bag? I'll pay you.

- [Villager] Yeah.

[dramatic music]

[Colin exhales]

- [Kim] You gotta make yourself eat it now.

- [Christie] I'll be strong.

- [Kim] Four more bites.

- Oh my god.

[dramatic music]

- Thank you, my brother! - Thank you!

- [Chip] Thank you.

Yeah!

[villagers clapping]

- Travel across the valley by Flying Fox.

- Teams must now go to the Valley's edge.

From there, they have to take a zip line

known as a Flying Fox across a gorge feet deep.

When they reach the other side of the gorge,

teams must run to this place, the lake Manyara Lookout.

This lake, which serves as a watering hole

to Africa's wildlife is the pit stop

for this leg of the race.

[dramatic music]

- Open it.

- Hey guys.

[Colin gags]

You're okay.

[dramatic music]

- I am doing the roadblock.

- Who's really hungry? - You are.

- Who's really hungry?

It's gotta be you this time, deal?

- Okay. - Okay.

- [Mirna] Which one is Kavishe Hotel?

- [Villager] That one.

[people chattering]

- That looks yummy.

You can do this.

- [Kami] Okay.

- [Linda] You can do it, Karen. Hurry up.

- [Christie] Colin's still here. There's no way.

- [Linda] Go, you can do it, Karen.

Colin's acting like a baby.

It's eggs, for crying out loud.

- It's good, it's an omelet.

- [Nicole] Yeah you go, baby. That's the way.

[dramatic music]

- [Christie] Mirna and Charla are here.

- [Mirna] Who's really hungry? Charla is.

- I guess so.

[dramatic music] [people chattering]

- [Mirna] It's delicious, it's good for you.

All protein.

- [Nicole] Mm, mm, mm.

I'm proud of you.

- [Linda] You're almost a third of the way.

You're gonna beat Colin.

I can't believe it, Karen.

You're kickin' butt.

[Kami gags]

- [Charla] It's just eggs.

- [Mirna] It's a delicacy, Charla.

- [Christie] I'm getting nervous. Hurry up.

- [Charla] All right, I think it's ready.

Let's put it in there.

- [Christie] We gotta go. Come on, Colin.

I just hope we can keep our lead.

- [Mirna] You can do it, Charla.

- [Linda] These people are thinking

what are these crazy Americans doing?

- You're okay.

[Colin coughs]

You're good, baby. You're almost done.

You're so close.

- There you go, babe. There you go.

- [Linda] Come on, Brandon's trying to take huge bites.

He's trying to beat us, Karen.

- [Karli] You're good.

- [Mirna] Come on, Charla, you can do it.

You're good at this. Come on.

[dramatic music]

- There it is over there.

It's pretty cool.

I'm ready to do it with my baby.

Whoa, that's what I'm doing. [laughs]

- [Worker] Ready?

[Kim and Chip yelling] [inspirational music]

- Oh my god.

This is awesome. [Kim yelling]

- [Chip] Ah!

- That was fun! - Yeah!

Hey, there he is!

- [Kim] Oh.

- Welcome to Lake Manyara, Tanzania.

- Thank you, my brother.

- [Greeter] Okay.

- Chip and Kim...

You are team number one. [Chip and Kim cheering]

As the winners of this seventh leg of the race,

you've won a vacation to Latin America

compliments of American Airlines' website, AA.com,

which you can enjoy after the race.

- Oh! [Kim cheers]

- [Christie] Just scoot it in with your hands.

I'm so proud of you, sweetheart. You did very well.

Let's go.

- [Linda] Colin just finished, Colin just finished.

- [Nicole] Yeah, you go, baby. That's the way.

- [Karli] Kam, you can do it.

- [Christie] Travel across the valley by Flying Fox.

- [Linda] Karen, you got it. You're almost there.

Come on. - Three bites and it's done.

- [Linda] Come on, come on, one more bite.

All right, give him the bowl. Pick up the bowl.

- [Mirna] Come on, honey, you can do it.

- [Linda] All right, Karen, go.

Come on, get outta here, let's go.

- Follow the mark path to the next pit stop.

- [Linda] Oh, let's go!

- [Colin] Two, one!

[Colin cheering]

Yeah, baby!

- [Nicole] Just swallow it down and you're done, babe.

- [Kami] Is this edible?

- [Mirna] Come on, Charla, you can do it.

You're good at this. Come on.

- [Nicole] Scrape it. Excuse me, excuse me?

[dramatic music]

[Linda and Karen screaming]

- Colin and Christie, you're team number two.

- Woo. [Christie claps]

[dramatic music]

- [Mirna] You're really good.

You're two thirds of the way done.

[Charla burps]

[Brandon and Nicole cheering]

- [Karli] Don't look at it, Kami.

Just shovel it in your face.

Charla's going to town on that.

- [Mirna] You're doing a really good job.

You're almost finished, Charla.

- [Karli] You're good, Kam. You're good.

[Linda and Karen panting]

- Linda and Karen, you are team number three.

[Linda sighs] [Karen claps]

- We did it. - From last to third.

- I'm shaking.

I'm shaking.

- Kam, you can do it.

- [Mirna] You can do it, Charla. I have faith.

- [Karli] Put that away.

- Brandon and Nicole, you're team number four.

- All right. [dramatic music]

- I'm gonna pack up and get ready to go

'cause you're doing good.

- Come on, come on. I'm gonna get ready.

We'll get this.

You can do it.

[dramatic music]

You have one more bite. I'm getting our bags.

- [Kami] Done, done?

- [Karli] You're good? Okay, I'll read it, I'll get it.

- [Mirna] Charla, come on, you can do it.

- [Workers] Three, two, one!

[Karli and Kami cheering]

- Kami and Karli, you are team number five.

- All right. - All right.

- [Charla] Lord have mercy on us all.

Oh my god!

[Charla and Mirna cheering]

[Mirna laughing]

- [Mirna] We might be a non-elimination. Just do it.

Come on.

[dramatic music]

- Charla and Mirna.

[Phil sighs]

You're the last team to arrive.

[dramatic music]

I'm sorry to tell you you've both

been eliminated from the race.

- Okay. - Thank you for having us.

- We had fun. - We had a wonderful time.

- And a great experience.

One of the best of our lives.

- Charla, you wanted to prove something

to other small people in the world and you really did that.

- I just wanted to prove to the world how much I can do.

And it's not easy when there's so much pointing down at you

and always people thinking that you can't do it

and you have to work extra hard to do it.

Maybe triple as hard as regular people

because you have to...

You have to do it and you have to accomplish your dreams.

- You have an amazing spirit.

As much as Charla was out

to prove something to herself and others,

you guys were a team.

An amazing teammate you have here, huh?

- She's just an amazing person to be around

and to have as a cousin.

And I just love her. [soft music]

[soft music continues]

- [Phil] Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

On the next episode of "The Amazing Race."

- You've gotta relax about the money.

- [Phil] Financial woes leave Nicole furious.

- Brandon throws our money away like it's toilet paper.

- [Colin] This is very bad.

- [Phil] And a breakdown.

- [Colin] We're driving with a donut.

- [Phil] Leads Colin to a meltdown.

- We got a flight to make! - Well go and sit there.

- [Colin] I'm getting thrown on jail.

[logo whooshing]
