- [Phil] Previously on "The Amazing Race."

- Africa. [chuckles]

- [Phil] Six teams started off from Luxor, Egypt

and raced all the way to Tanzania.

Colin and Christie tried to block rivals, Charla and Mirna.

- [Charla] Bitch, move out of the way.

- [Phil] But some fancy footwork

earned Charla and Mirna and the bowling moms an early lead.

- [Charla] We'll be the first teams to get in.

- [Phil] Until an airport delay

put them at the back of the pack.

- [Charla] It was truly a sad moment.

- [Phil] In Africa, Chip and Kim felt right at home.

- [Chip] Everywhere I turn people look like me.

It's not something that we get to experience every day.

- [Phil] While Brandon and Nicole were on uncertain ground.

- For all of us. - $.

- I don't know if you're a trustworthy man.

- What? more dollars? - more, .

- There's your more.

- Get. - Baby.

- [Phil] Front runners, Colin and Christie

breezed through the leg until they hit the roadblock.

- [Colin] Oh my God.

- [Phil] An ostrich egg

became a astronomic gauntlet for Colin.

While Chip's iron stomach

gave him the strength needed to take the lead.

- [Chip] Yay.

- [Phil] One by one, the teams caught up.

Colin found the guts to finish second,

but then the egg feast scrambled the order.

And in the end, Charla and Mirna

arrived at the pit stop last.

They were eliminated.

- [Charla] We had a great experience;

one of the best of our lives.

- [Phil] Five teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

[dramatic music]

[majestic music]

This is northern Tanzania,

an African nation where people still live harmoniously

with some of the world's

most majestic and ferocious animals.

And in the midst of it all, Lake Manyara.

This lake, which serves as a watering hole

to Africa's wildlife,

was also the seventh pit stop in a race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period

that allows them to eat, sleep,

and mingle with the other teams.

Will Chip and Kim continue to chew up the competition

and maintain their lead

over the younger, more athletic teams?

And can Kami and Karli work in harmony long enough

to pull themselves out of last place?

Chip and Kim, who were the first to arrive at : PM,

you are team number one,

[Kim cheers]

will depart at : AM.

- "Fly to the city of Dubai."

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] Teams must now take a taxi over miles

through the African wilderness to Kilimanjaro Airport

where they'll catch one of three charter flights

to Nairobi, Kenya.

And then from there travel more than , miles

to the city of Dubai on the Persian Gulf.

Once in Dubai, they'll have to find the Burj Al Arab Hotel

where their clue is waiting across the street.

- "You have $ for this leg of the race."

- Yes. - How much do you charge?

- One fifty dollars.

- One hundred and fifty. - Yes.

- . - , , okay.

Okay, let's go.

Thank you, though, brothers; I appreciate you.

My name is Chip and my wife's name is Kim.

- [Kim] Chip gets so friendly with everybody,

that's why we have been excelling at this race.

- [Chip] Whatever you give out, it will come back to you.

That's just my philosophy.

[envelope rips]

- "Fly to the city of Dubai."

- [Christie] Colin and I most wanna work on

learning to trust each other more.

It's difficult when you have two decision makers

who work together.

- [Colin] How much to the airport?

- [Driver] Hundred dollars.

- Hundred dollars; no way.

- .

- No way. - No, no, hundred dollars.

- We can do , that's it.

All we have is $. - Hundred, hundred, hundred.

- [Colin] Okay, you better be fast for a hundred dollars.

Man, that's a lot of money.

[dramatic music] [envelope rips]

- "You have $ for this leg."

I think it would be awesome if two moms could win this race.

This race is not just for the fast young ones.

We're still here; there's five teams.

Anybody can win this race.

[envelope rips]

- "Fly to the city of" du bay.

- [Nicole] Okay.

- It's a hundred U.S., sure?

- A hundred U.S., no. - Yes.

- Nick, you wanna take another cab?

Someone else going for cheaper?

- One hundred dollars.

- [Brandon] You guys are nuts.

- [Nicole] $.

Brandon and I, we need to work on being more aggressive

because the teams that are more aggressive

are finishing before us.

[envelope rips]

- "Hurry, seats are first come, first served."

We're on our way to Kilimanjaro Airport.

Currently we're in last place.

We need to slow down.

We are so spastic right now.

If you look at who's in the lead, it's not the quick teams.

It's the teams that really slow down,

analyze the clue, and then work accordingly.

[dramatic music]

- There are three charter flights available.

Teams will be assigned to a plane

based on your order of arrival.

- [Chip] Good, good, good, good, good.

- Is that them? - He just turned around, look.

- Yeah, that's Colin, that's Colin.

Okay, we're good.

You gotta pass that car whenever you get a chance.

- [Colin] Okay, man, I'm not paying if they pass us.

- Uh-oh. - We need to get by them.

- Yes, you are the best, you are the best.

We just passed Colin and Christie.

[dramatic music]

- [Colin] Fast!

- [Brandon] I see Colin and Christie.

- Damn it. - Let's go faster, please.

Pass, pass.

- [Brandon] Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass.

Nice work, man.

We're third now.

- He drives slower than my grandma.

- Yeah. - Damn it!

- He's already been passed now by two teams.

There's only one team behind us.

[dramatic music]

- [Karli] I think we gotta go faster, driver.

- As long as we get to that airport first

so we can get the first chartered flight out

since they have three chartered flights.

So that's our major and main concern right now.

- The pack's really close.

- We wanna see if we can get on that second charter flight

instead of the third.

- [Nicole] The bowling moms are right in front of us.

- [Brandon] Nice work, nice work, nice.

- Don't let them pass us.

- We just passed the bowling moms on the way to the airport.

- Don't lose them, don't lose them.

[tense music]

- [Colin] Tire blows out; cannot believe this.

- [Driver] It's busted.

- [Colin] Oh my God!

You don't have a spare tire?

- I don't have because the spare tire is in the front.

- [Colin] We're driving with a donut

on the front of the car.

- What. - Very bad.

- No, no, no, no. - Very bad.

- What's going on? - He has no spare tire.

There's a car coming.

- [Karli] Is that Colin and Christie?

- Our guy had a donut on the front of his car to begin with.

He just blew it out, he has no spare tire.

So we need your guy's spare tire.

- Okay.

Colin does say thank you.

Doesn't even acknowledge that we just slowed down

to help a team that started off in front of us.

Okay, let's go.

We gotta go fast, fast, fast, fast, fast.

We don't think that Colin would've pulled over

to give us his spare tire.

[dramatic music]

[car clanking]

- [Karen] Our car started making a funny noise.

He's checking the oil in his car.

You have oil?

- Great, there goes our lead.

- [Kami] I see another car on the side of the road.

It's the mother's.

- [Linda] Are they stopping?

- [Karli] Go, go, go, go.

Just keep going, keep going, keep going.

- [Karen] Thanks.

- Yeah, we're not gonna stop again.

You know, this is God thanking us

for giving our spare tire away,

and I don't feel guilty.

I'm not Triple A.

[dramatic music]

- [Colin] Okay, let's go, let's go.

- [Christie] Go ahead and be okay with the fact

that we're on the last charter flight.

- [Linda] Well, this has to be Colin and Christie.

Come on.

- We have no oil.

- That's what y'all get for driving so fast.

- Does your taxi driver have a phone?

- [Linda] We need you to call a taxi.

- Can you use his phone? - Phone taxi.

[drivers speaking indistinctly]

- Go ahead and go, guys.

Thanks for stopping.

- [Christie] Now we can maybe make it

on the second flight now.

- Send somebody to come. - How far are they?

- Maybe in minutes he'll be here.

- minutes? Okay, great thank you.

[dramatic music]

- , , , , .

is good, man, huh?

An extra tip.

- [Kim] Chip has this habit of liking to tip big.

That is our biggest weakness.

We have got to learn to spend wisely.

Okay, so :. - Great.

Thank you so much. - You're welcome.

[dramatic music]

- [Brandon] We've gotta go sign up for our airplane.

- [Nicole] Yep, charter one.

- [Attendant] Good morning.

- I cannot believe we did it.

We got on the first charter flight.

Woo! - Can I please have your--

- We should pay our guy.

- [Nicole] We have $ in Kenyan,

so let's give him all of our Kenyan

and then the rest in American.

- [Brandon] Okay.

- Is it us? - Yes, it's us.

- [Karen] Our cab driver made a phone call

and we had a new taxi within minutes.

We're last again? [chuckles]

- [Nicole] Half American, half Kenyan.

Is that okay?

- Only a hundred dollars.

- Yeah, this is a hundred dollars.

- This is a hundred dollars.

Have you ever used Kenyan money?

- No.

- Yeah, if you--

- Why don't we just give him the hundred dollars

and we'll exchange this at the airport?

- [Nicole] That's ridiculous.

- [Brandon] Baby.

- There you go. Thank you.

A hundred dollars, though.

- Nikki, listen to what I'm saying.

I'm just saying for them,

it may be setting them on a new way of life

this much money that they're making.

- Nikki, I really agree.

I think you need to chill out about the money.

- [Nicole] Don't tell me to chill out.

- [Chip] I'm agreeing with what Brandon was saying.

Yeah, you need to watch your money,

but don't let money guide your emotions in a negative way.

You think everything I give out is taken away from me;

that's one way.

Or if you think everything I give it's given to the world

and it will come back to me; that's another thing.

There's only two ways to think about it.

So which way are you thinking about it?

- Brandon, am I not a giving person?

- He's not saying that. - I'm not saying you're not.

- Brandon, you have no...

How can you not?

How can you just stand there

and not understand where I'm coming from?

- Nikki, baby, I do understand where you're coming from.

- Then why do you say nothing?

- I understand where you're coming from,

but I disagree with you.

I think that we should have paid that guy

every dollar that we did.

- They see us getting r*ped for our money.

- [Chip] We're not!

- How much would they charge us if we weren't American?

All I'm concerned about is running out of money.

- [Chip] Nikki was upset with Brandon

because he was agreeing with what I was saying,

and she wants to be right all the time.

I think Nikki needs to do a lot of maturing.

- Departures.

Well, get out.

- Here's your hundred dollars.

Thank you.

We were able to make it on the second charter flight.

We started off in last place,

and maybe here's our one chance to get ahead.

[ominous music]

- Here you go, that's $.

You can take it or you can not take it.

It's up to you. - Why?

- [Colin] Because you drove on a donut the whole way,

that's unsafe.

- Pay me my money. - You want it?

Okay, there you go. - No, .

- You don't want it, fine.

We're on the, it looks like Christie and I

made onto the second charter--

- [Attendant] Please can I have your passports.

- I'll get them, you go get our bags.

- Okay. - Charter flight number two.

Here comes this guy, Colin. - Yeah, I know, I see him.

Listen, we left second team,

which would've put us on the first flight.

- Give me my money.

- We said, if you want a hundred dollars--

- Give me my money.

Give my money, a hundred dollars.

Give me my money, a hundred dollars.

- No, no. - $.

- You can have $.

- No, no, no, $.

- Put the $ on the table. - Give my $.

- Okay, fine.

You don't want $. - I need $.

- Put the $ on the table. - Look, you want $?

- I don't need it, I don't need it.

- Okay, fine, don't take it. - Give me my money.

- [Colin] Fine with me.

- , , , , .

Thank you very much.

- Are we the only ones on it? - Yep.

Ah, crap.

- [Linda] Oh, here we go again.

We never get a break.

[dramatic music]

- [Kim] Make those reservations.

- [Colin] Bring the police, that's good.

[speaking in a foreign language]

- Yeah, do you speak English?

- Does-- - Take my words.

Finish with him, let him go.

- Okay, so he can take the $.

Yeah, that's fine; here.

- Not $, he wants .

- Well that's too bad.

You can take $ or you can take nothing.

- I don't need $. - Okay.

- I need hundred dollars. - Okay.

Well I'm not giving you a hundred dollars.

You can bring any policemen you want down here, okay.

You can bring the president of your country down here

and I'll be glad to talk to him.

For you to drive us two hours on a donut is unsafe.

Come on, we can go out here and talk.

[speaking in a foreign language]

[speaking in a foreign language]

- Yeah, come on.

I'm going to the police station.

How far away?

- Out there on the gates.

[dramatic music]

- Do you speak English? - Yes.

- [Officer] Do you know how to speak Swahili?

- Why did you waste this time walking all the way over here?

- Our flight doesn't only for three and a half hours.

This will take five minutes,

so please stop making things worse, okay.

Please?

- So, you're ready to pay your--

- $? Yes.

- $ only? - No problem; hakuna matata.

- Just wait, let's call my boss.

- Is he getting arrested or something?

- Me? I wouldn't want the police to come down here.

I'd pay the hundred dollars.

The team that's going to destroy Colin and Christie,

that's Colin and Christie.

- [Colin] This would be so much easier

if you weren't making it so difficult.

- [Christie] Really?

What have I done that's made it difficult?

I haven't done anything that's made it difficult.

- Okay? - Okay.

I walked down here and nothing's happened.

I haven't changed anything that's happened

except tell you my opinion

that I think this is a waste of time.

- Colin. - The boss is coming.

- Are you the boss? - I am.

- My name is Sam Manhalwa.

- Good, Colin Guinn. Nice to meet you.

- I'm the officer running the station.

- [Colin] Oh, good.

- The driver said that

if you don't like to pay him hundred U.S. dollars--

- I told him I will only pay you $,

if we get there in the same order that we left.

We hit a small bump.

And because it's a spare tire, it blows out, phew.

When you leave on a two hour journey

with a spare tire on your car,

you know you're gonna have problems.

- [Officer] How much you willing to pay him?

- [Colin] .

He can have or he can have nothing.

We gotta go make our flight.

I'm sorry.

- Discuss here, peacefully. - We discuss peacefully.

He said--

- You see, I'm a police officer.

This here is a police station.

- Yes. - You see?

- Pay him a hundred dollars and let's go.

- You entered a contract.

Can you show me?

- There's no contract. - Can you show me?

- There is no contract.

- How am I going to believe you?

- There's no contract. - You see, you see.

- We've got a flight to make. - You see this, my dear.

- [Officer] He wants to open a case against you now,

a criminal case now.

- We don't have time to do that.

- You go inside there.

- Just pay him the hundred dollars.

- Go inside. [speaks in a foreign language]

- [Christie] Colin, do not waste any more time.

Pay a hundred dollars and let's go, okay.

- [Officer] Inside, please.

- [Colin] No, no, I'm not going inside.

- Just pay him the hundred dollars.

- Right now, inside. - We should...

- [Colin] All of a sudden

the taxi driver wants to press charges.

- [Officer] Go inside there.

- [Colin] I'm getting thrown in jail.

- [Christie] Oh my God!

[ominous music]

- [Officer] We are supposed to send both of you all

before the court of law.

- [Christie] You know what?

We don't have time for this.

- You want you are right.

He wants he's right also.

Now who's going to give him his right?

- [Colin] I've gotta make my flight.

- Colin. - No.

- [Christie] You just remember...

Just, it's not worth it.

Just...

- A hundred dollars.

- Colin, wait for me. - Walk fast.

- [Christie] Don't be mad at me.

- He took-- - No, he didn't.

Don't make it up in your head, Colin, okay.

- [Colin] Oh my God.

- [Christie] Don't make it up in your head, he did not.

- [Colin] Oh, it's real funny.

Christie frustrated me.

Whether I was right or wrong,

I wanted her to support me either way.

I want a different kind of relationship.

- [Christie] That pisses me off, Colin.

- [Linda] Did you get away with it?

- [Colin] I came that close.

- So, you didn't win, Colin?

Damn it, I'm disappointed in you.

- I would've but Christie was freaking out.

- [Christie] Seriously, just get over it.

- God!

I'm just telling the story.

Is that okay with you?

[ominous music]

- [Kim] Colin is so abusive and belligerent to Christie.

She is constantly living in stress.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] Teams must take charter flights,

leaving one hour apart, to Nairobi, Kenya,

and then have to book a flight to Dubai

and get to the Burj Al Arab Hotel

where their clue is waiting across the street.

- [Chip] We're happy that we're on the first charter flight.

- [Brandon] Nikki and I feel great.

We're in a good spot.

[tense music]

- [Christie] I was frustrated this morning

'cause I felt like the police station was a waste of time.

- [Colin] Do you realize how you were just harping on me?

- Okay.

It's not like I'm being that way just to be that way.

I got frustrated about it.

I'm sorry if I didn't handle it the way that I should have.

[dramatic music]

- [Linda] We're on the last charter out again.

I'm getting tired of this.

[dramatic music]

- [Chip] Just whatever way we can get to Dubai

as quickly as possible.

- Tickets on the flight. - Awesome.

Right now they have seats available

on a Kenya Airways flight that leaves at o'clock today

and gets in at six o'clock today.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate you.

- Thank you.

[dramatic music]

- [Karen] We're at the end of the pack again.

We're hoping that we can catch up at some point.

[dramatic music]

- Can you tell me if there's any flights to Dubai?

- Can you check if there's four seats available?

- Every team that's here got on the flight to Dubai.

The only team that may not make it is the moms

because we're boarding right now.

[dramatic music]

- [Linda] Karen, there they are right there.

- [Karen] Do you see them?

- [Linda] See if we can get on that flight.

Come on, we've gotta go.

- [Christie] They're freaking out right now.

- [Karen] Can we get on the flight to Dubai?

Everybody's on that flight, we need to get on it.

- There's nothing I can do. - Please, please.

- It's minutes to departure.

It's not possible. - Oh, oh please.

- Okay. - You'll do it?

- No. - Oh please!

[dramatic music]

- [Attendant] There's no other flight.

- Let's go, come on.

We're have to find another flight.

When does that plane leave? - The flight is at six.

And what time does it arrive in Dubai?

- [Attendant] Nineteen minutes past midnight.

- [Linda] We're gonna be about five hours behind.

It seems like we're always going to last

and having to catch up.

I'm upset.

[energetic music]

- [Chip] Excuse me, excuse me.

Twins, where are we running?

- [Brandon] Twins, you know where you're going?

- Who's the fastest? - You drive fast?

- This one. - I need one on the outside.

Drop us off at the Burj Al Arab.

I think it's a hotel, right? - Yes.

- We're on our way to the Burj Al Arab.

- I'm very serious, fast. - Yeah, yeah.

- Catch up with those teams. - All right, go.

- You gotta stay behind them. - Good, good, good.

- How much? Free?

? Okay. - Okay.

- The twins took off running through the airport

and made the old man have to run again.

[dramatic music]

- There it is. - Clue box.

- Okay, we'll get out right here.

We'll get out right here.

- No, no, I will drop you over there.

- No. - We're don't have time.

- [Karli] Literally, we saw a clue box feet away.

The cab driver would not listen to me.

The taxi driver dropped us off at the security kiosk

and we missed the clue box.

- [Brandon] It's right over there, it's right over there.

- [Nicole] He completely missed the clue box.

- Right here, right here. - Stop, please.

- [Colin] Stop.

- [Brandon] There's the box.

- [Kim] Look, right here.

- Christie.

- [Christie] I'm coming.

- "Welcome to the world's largest offshore hotel."

- "Find your next clue on the heliport."

- [Phil] Teams must next enter the Burj Al Arab Hotel,

and take a glass elevator up to the heliport.

On this precarious perch, they'll find their next clue.

- ": AM to : PM only."

Oh my God. - Everybody slow down.

- ": AM to : PM only."

- Slow down, slow down.

- [Colin] Hey, we just got a hour break.

[dramatic music]

- We're way behind.

Hopefully, we'll catch up at some point.

Stop, stop.

Stop, stop, stop.

- "Hours of operation are from : AM to : PM."

- Oh, my gosh, that's so great.

We're back in it, the moms are back in it.

Yes!

[chanting in a foreign language]

[ominous music]

- Oh my God. - This is awesome.

- [Nicole] Amazing.

- We're about to get really high too.

- [Colin] Gimme a kiss.

- [Linda] This is unreal. Oh my gosh.

- Wow.

[energetic music]

- [Christie] Okay.

- "Make your way to the Bur Dubai Abra Station."

- [Phil] Teams must now make their way across the city

to the Bur Dubai Abra Station

and take a water taxi known as an abra

to the port of Dubai.

There they'll have to find a traditional boat called a dhow

where captain Abdul Rahman will give them their next clue.

[dramatic music]

- [Linda] Hurry.

- [Contestant] Taxi.

- Do you know where the Bur Dubai Abra Station is?

And we're in a hurry, so you gotta go fast, please.

- [Nicole] Bur Dubai Abra Station?

- We need to go fast; we're in a hurry.

- Water taxi is very close to that? Okay.

- I hope we have enough money for that.

- [Colin] Very fast; we're racing.

- [Linda] Let's go.

- We must go very, very fast 'cause we're behind.

We're behind other teams.

- Please hurry, please hurry. - Yes, we're in a race.

- [Linda] There's Colin and Christie.

- Faster, faster, go quicker. - Go, go, go.

- Fast and quick. - Faster.

- [Karen] Good job, good job.

[Linda and Karen cheer]

- Very fast.

- Bur Dubai Abra Station.

[energetic music]

- [Karli] Kami, I said get the [bleep] bags.

- What kind of bills do we have?

- Twenties.

- That's it?

Do you have a change? - No.

- [Brandon] Don't worry about.

- [Nicole] We're not getting change.

- Do you wanna wait?

- [Kim] Thank you.

- [Contestant] Water taxi?

Where do we go? Where do we go?

- [Contestant] Come on, go, go, go.

- [Contestant] Yeah, let's all just go.

- Right here. - Okay.

- I see Chip and Kim. - Right here?

We need to take a water taxi to the other side. Here?

How much is it?

How much? Yeah.

Across, yes.

- [Contestant] Can we get the same one?

- Everyone get on. - Quick.

- We've gotta hurry.

- [Nicole] How much did y'all pay your cab drivers just now?

- Nine dollars. - Nine?

Brandon, Brandon, we gave him .

We can't keep giving twenties out, baby.

- [Kim] I definitely agree with Nikki

because Chip and I are really

running into a problem with money.

- Is this it?

Great; thank you so much.

This is perfect.

- [Colin] Right here, right here.

, .

Thank you. - Thank you so much.

- [Contestant] Let's go.

- Everybody on this one.

- Get in Karen, get in.

Go now, now.

[dramatic music]

- [Chip] Dhow boat.

- [Brandon] Where did Chip go?

- Does anybody know captain Abdul Rahman's dhow boat?

- Okay. - Thank you, thank you.

- [Kim] There you go.

- [Chip] Thank you.

Okay, "Detour."

- A detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour teams have to choose between two activities

that a seriously high adventure: off plane or off road.

In off plane teams must travel to the Umm Al Quwain Aeroclub

and skydive in tandem with an instructor from , feet

above the Margham Red Dunes.

When they land they'll get their next clue.

It's a potentially terrifying task,

but teams can finish it quickly.

However, only one team can fly on each plane,

and planes are scheduled to take off minutes apart.

In off road,

teams must travel directly to the Margham Dunes,

where they'll have to drive one of these xs

over a marked six-mile course through the desert,

accompanied by a safety guide,

ending at the skydive landing zone.

It's a far less harrowing task,

but if teams get stuck in the sand,

they'll have to radio for a tow

and it could take them a long time to finish.

- "Travel there by taxi."

Don't have any more money.

Okay, well, $. - I got $.

I'm thinking we should do the off road.

Okay, that's it.

Hatta Ajman Highway. - You know where that is?

- [Driver] No.

- "Off plane or off road."

- "First team at the airport will fly alone.

"The next plane will not depart for another minutes."

- Do you wanna skydive?

- [Nicole] So what do you guys think is faster?

- We're jumping.

One reason why we're running this race

is because we love the adventure.

- Taxi, taxi. - Taxi.

- Right there, right there. - Stop.

- My opinion is skydiving would be faster.

Let's just skydive.

- Aeroclub.

[driver speaking indistinctly]

- [Chip] You know where Hatta Ajman, you know where that is?

You know where that is? No.

- Okay. - Okay.

- [Chip] Four cabs didn't know

where either of these spots were.

- [Kim] So we kept looking.

- [Colin] Okay, detour.

- "Drive an off-road rally course through the sand dunes,"

Let's do that one.

- Everyone's gonna do the skydiving.

They're gonna have to wait, so just do the off-road.

Stop, please.

Open the trunk. We've gotta go; hurry.

Go, go, go, go, go; get back there.

I'm talking to him.

Hatta Ajman, thank you.

- [Linda] Go, go, go, go, go, go.

Go, go. [groans]

- Hatta Ajman Highway? - You know where that is?

- Our money is very low,

so we might not have money for a cab.

[dramatic music]

- Oh my gosh. - We're gonna skydive.

Woo-hoo.

- [Brandon] Is there a taxi behind us?

- Same, same. - Okay, no problem.

- I grew up driving an old Land Cruiser

and we off-roaded all the time.

So, I definitely know how to off-road a car.

- I like sand dunes, anyway.

I always want to do that. [chuckles]

- Linda, you better not flip us.

- [Chip] We see that meter on the cab ticking away,

and all the while, while I'm driving

and I don't even have the ability to pay this man.

[energetic music]

- The first person to the airport

is gonna leave by themselves right away.

Everyone else is gonna take off minutes later.

- [Brandon] No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

The flag, the flag.

- [Kami] No, no, no, no.

- Right here, right here, right here, right here.

- Are you sure? - Yes.

- This could be the wrong thing just because we see a flag.

- Aeroclub. Aeroclub?

- I'm sorry, but I saw a flag.

- Yes, go, go.

- [Karli] See this flag.?

I knew this is where we needed to go,

and Kami just would not listen.

- Just follow them. - Hey, hold on.

- Sorry.

- [Kami] I've made so many bad choices

by just going too quickly, that I wanted to be sure.

- We need to go to the airport.

[Brandon imitates an airplane]

- [Nicole] You gotta turn around.

- Just follow them.

- Here, here. - Yes.

- This is the way that I saw it; yes.

See Kami, we could be ahead of them.

- Okay, but still it's a footrace, we can beat them.

[energetic music]

- [Karli] Kami, go; just go.

- [Brandon] Come on, babe.

- [Nicole] Go; just go.

Baby just go.

- Team number one.

We got ti.

- [Karli] The fact that we didn't pull in

to where the flag was sitting was a costly decision.

We're gonna have to wait minutes.

We should have taken that. - Sorry.

- We should have taken the flag we saw.

I feel like we're gonna be eliminated.

[ominous music]

- What's wrong.

Yeah, it's stupid, just get over it; we get to skydive.

- I'll get over it when I feel like getting over it.

Just leave me alone.

I'm still a little pissed

'cause we could have been on that plane.

I saw that flag, we pulled in and then we left again.

We have to wait minutes.

I just hope that we're not in last place.

[tense music]

[dramatic music]

- [Colin] Even though I would love to go skydiving,

we think that the off-road course will be quicker.

- [Christie] Yes, it's right there.

Right here.

- [Colin] Very fast. Very fast.

- [Instructor] All you have to do is follow these flags,

get to your point as soon as possible.

[dramatic music]

- Yeah, baby.

- [Christie] So you gotta follow the race flags.

- [Colin] Yeah.

Yeah, baby.

This is fun as hell.

- It'll be fine, Karen.

If we roll, we roll it.

That's it, those flags right there.

Come on.

Oh man, this looks so cool.

- We're kinda in a catch .

- We're in a competition.

We have a little money. - A little money.

- [Chip] I'm freaking out; we only have U.S. dollars.

We see that meter on the cab is ticking away.

[tense music]

- With this...

This is the ...

This is about four more dollars.

Okay?

Thank you so much 'cause that's all my money.

Okay?

We were $ short.

Please, please, because this is all I got.

Thank you brother.

We hugged about it.

And I firmly believe

it's because I put something out there in the world

and that's given back to me.

[dramatic music]

- I am a wreck.

I know Linda's gonna flip us over.

We're gonna end up upside down in the sand dunes.

- This is four-wheel drive?

Oh, Linda, go slow

- [Linda] Yee-hoo.

- Follow the tread marks. - Okay.

[dramatic music]

- Follow the tracks? - Yep, follow the tracks.

- [Instructor] Follow; go.

- [Karen] Go, go, go. Oh.

Uh-oh; darn it.

- [Linda] We go what, feet,

and I go down the cliff and we're stuck.

It was like, oh man!

Uh-oh, what do I do now?

- [Kim] Uh-oh, somebody got stuck.

Okay, so we don't wanna get stuck.

- [Chip] Yeah.

- [Kim] We don't wanna get stuck.

Left. - Whoa.

- So stay on the marked path.

You can kind of see the path there.

- Should I back up? - Yep.

- Do I have to go fast? - Yeah.

- [Instructor] Keep going.

- Woo!

Geronimo.

I could see the ground and the other teams.

That was the worst part, just the waiting.

[dramatic music]

- Off-roading in Arabia.

There's a flag. How do we get to it?

- Just follow these tracks. - I'm excited.

[dramatic music]

- Woo!

- [Christie] Do you see a flag in front of us?

- [Colin] Yup.

[Brandon screams]

- Don't break the car there, Colin.

Aw, yeah, here we go.

[Brandon screams]

[dramatic music]

- We're there, baby.

Glad I had experience because that was not easy.

- "Take a camel and a GPS navigation system

"to the next pit stop."

- [Phil] Teams must now mount a camel

and direct the camel wrangler

a half a mile across the hot desert sand

using a GPS navigation system,

programed to guide them to the pit stop.

If they follow this arrow properly, they'll arrive here:

Al Sarab Arabian Desert Oasis.

This traditional Bedouin camp on the outskirts of Dubai

is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

- "Last team to check in may be eliminated."

- [Colin] I know how to use a GPS; no problem.

Okay. Go forward.

Go straight.

- [Instructor] Feet up.

Up.

- [Nicole] Woo.

- We better hurry.

"Take a camel and a GPS navigation system

"to the next pit stop."

- [Nicole] Woo.

Okay, this is freakier than the skydiving.

- [Brandon] Let's go, donkey.

[soft music]

- We ready? - Yep, let's go.

Let's go.

- [Karli] I can't believe the other teams aren't doing this.

I think we're screwed, but we don't know.

[dramatic music]

- I don't see any flags, baby. Do you?

- [Kim] No.

Just go to the right.

This is probably--

- This is probably our own damn tracks.

I hope we're not going back the second way we came, Kim.

[dramatic music]

- [Linda] Hold on, hold on, I don't wanna get stuck.

- No, no, no. - Go, go; go down, go down.

- Oh no! - Damn it!

- [Karen] Reverse.

- Oh, we're stuck. - I got stuck.

- Oh Linda, don't; no, no, no, no.

No, no.

[dramatic music]

- [Linda] This I bad.

[ominous music]

- It's digging us deeper.

- Well, he's gonna tow us out, Karen.

- [Instructor] Oh, thank you.

- Oh, man, we are so stuck.

- [Karen] I don't know how long

it's gonna take us to get out.

[dramatic music]

- [Instructor] Where do you see the flags?

- Oh, I see the flag way up there.

sh**t!

Am I stuck?

Oh, don't be stuck, you stupid.

- No backing out.

- [Colin] Faster, and never stop.

- That way. - That way.

- [Colin] Come on, man, I hope this is not

how fast we're gonna go the whole time.

- [Brandon] The pointer still going up?

- [Nicole] Um, yep.

- [Brandon] Keep going.

- Okay, go. - Go, go, go, go.

- [Brandon] Go, we have to beat the other teams.

- [Camel Wrangler] Okay.

- [Brandon] Faster.

[Nicole chuckling]

Yee-haw.

[dramatic music]

- All right.

- Welcome to Dubai.

- Colin and Christie, you're team number one.

- That's what I thought, baby. - Woo.

- Just like that.

- As the winners of this eighth leg of the race,

you've won a vacation to the sunny Caribbean,

compliments of American Airlines' website, aa.com,

which you can enjoy after the race.

- Woo.

I have a problem with stressing out,

fearing that we're in last place.

Sometimes it backfires on me.

I should have never been angry at him.

- [Brandon] Let's go.

- Brandon and Nicole, you're team number two.

- All right. [Brandon chuckles]

That's awesome.

[dramatic music]

- Turn the wheel? - Yep.

- I have to go fast? - Yeah.

- Come on, we gotta pass Chip and Kim.

Don't break the car, Linda.

- I wanna get going.

- [Kim] The moms, they are gonna catch up.

- [Karen] Fast, fast, fast, Linda, fast.

[dramatic music]

- [Chip] Hopefully, we won't get stuck again.

- [Linda] Hold on, hold on.

- There's Chip. - No way.

We did a good catch up.

- You see a flag?

- [Kim] Oh, down there's a flag.

- Are the mom's back there?

- [Karen] Fast, fast, fast.

[contestant screams]

- [Instructor] Accelerate, accelerate.

- [Karen] Fast, fast, fast, Linda, fast.

- [Kim] We made it.

Woo-hoo.

- [Karen] Right there; park right there, Linda.

Park right here. - Okay, let's go.

- Okay, "Take a camel and a GPS navigation system

"to the next pit stop."

- [Chip] Okay.

- [Kim] Okay.

- "Warning: the last team to check in may be eliminated."

- Let's go fast.

- "The arrow on your screen will always point

"in the direction you need to travel."

- [Karen] Come on.

- Go, go, go. - Look, is that parachuting?

- [Instructor] And stand.

- "Warning: the last team to check in may be eliminated."

- It's just like a compass.

- Yeah, just follow the arrows, right?

- [Kami] Yee-haw.

- Go this way. - Yeah.

- [Kim] Baby, you know what that thing is doing?

- [Linda] That way, sir; that way, that way.

Yeah, follow the path around the corner. Yes.

- [Kami] Is that it over there?

- That way, that way.

- [Karli] Will we go faster?

- Is that the pit stop? - Okay, there it is.

- [Chip] Okay.

[dramatic music]

[Kim groans]

- Chip and Kim. - Yes.

- You're team number three.

- Oh cool.

Thank you, Phil.

- Team number three.

Welcome.

- [Linda] Go, go, go.

You're doing good camels; you're doing good.

- [Karli] Can we go fast?

Yeah, there you go.

- [Karen] So good; you're doing great, Mr. Camel.

Good job.

- Come on. - Woo.

- [Linda] Okay, I see something blue up ahead.

- [Kami] Come on, girl.

- [Karen] Hurry, we gotta beat that team right there.

You gotta beat that team. Go fast.

- [Linda] Go, go, go.

We still need to go more this way.

- [Karen] Okay.

- [Karli] Can we go faster?

- Let us down please. - Set us down.

Right now, right now, sit.

- [Linda] Come on, Karen.

- Come on. - Thank you.

[dramatic music]

[Linda sighs]

- Linda and Karen, you're team number four.

- Yes, I can't believe it.

We can do this.

We can finish this race.

We can win.

[poignant music]

- Hi.

- Kami and Karli,

you're the last team to arrive.

- We know.

- The good news is this is a non-elimination leg,

and you're still on the race.

- All right. - Cool.

- The bad news is there are no free rides in this race,

and you're gonna have to turn over all your money.

You're out in the middle of the desert.

How are you gonna do this?

- We're resourceful; we're young and cute.

I think we can figure out something.

This race is very difficult.

And the fact that Kami and I

are starting this new leg without any money,

it's another obstacle that we're gonna have to get through.

And we are so gonna lie to people.

That's the only way we're gonna be able to survive.

- [Phil] Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

On the next episode of "The Amazing Race",

Kami and Karli attempt to charm the men of Dubai

to get their much needed funds.

Tensions in Calcutta bring Colin to the boiling point.

- Come on, babe. - I'm packing it.

- [Phil] And which team will pursue the fast forward,

only to learn that they'll have to cut off all their hair?

[dramatic music]
