06x10 - Are There Instructions on Donkey Handling?

Post by bunniefuu »

PHIL: Previously on The Amazing Race...

I'm going to give you a noogie.

PHIL: teams set out from Budapest, Hungary

and raced all the way to the French island of Corsica.

I don't know if I like this.

PHIL: Adam's attempts at a deep-sea dive

were both comical...

-ADAM: Ohh! Stop, stop, stop!-PHIL: And serious.

PHIL: But he and Rebecca eventually claimed the fast forward and the lead.

You are team number one.

At the road block...

Kendra made quick work of wine-making...

Wow! That was amazing!

PHIL: While Jonathan just made Victoria whine.

Just stomp on them! That's not stomping! That's kicking it around!

Aaron, you need to do something. I'm gonna hyperventilate.

PHIL: Hayden and Aaron's relationship problems

continued to affect their performance.

Oh! Oh, my God.

PHIL: They struggled all the way to the pit stop...

You're the last team to arrive.

But were granted a reprieve.

This is a non-elimination leg.

And we're not working together.

I could have cost us the whole race.

PHIL: teams remain.

Who will be eliminated next?

PHIL: This is Corsica,

a French island in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea,

and just above the port town of Ireuse--

a scenic overlook known as La Pietra.

This was the seventh pit stop in a race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period.

Hayden and Aaron, who arrived last, were not eliminated

because this pit stop was the second

of pre-determined non-elimination spots.

Thanks, Phil.

PHIL: But they were stripped of all the money they had

accumulated since the start of the race, and they will

not receive any money at all for the coming leg.

Will Hayden and Aaron be defeated by this obstacle,

or will they rebound from this setback?

Rebecca and Adam, who were the first to arrive at : P.M.,

will depart at : A.M.

Travel by ferry to the city of Nice.

PHIL: Teams must now travel by ferry to the city of Nice.

When they arrive, they'll have to make their way to the city garden

and find this bust of World w*r I hero Albert Premier.

This is where they'll find their next clue.

Going to France.

-We're going to Nice -Yeah!

REBECCA: Somehow I don't think ferries are leaving at this hour.

Let's get in the car and drive down

-the street to the hotel-All right.

In terms of our relationship,

it's still up in the air.

We have our great moments where we're loving and sweet,

and then there are times where we want to k*ll each other.

And if this were real life, we would get away from each other.

. We got it. Let's go.

We haven't researched any of the ferries.

I guess our best bet is

to maybe look at some hotel brochures.

FREDDY: Team chemistry is doing great.

Kendra and I are communicating well.

Right now we're moving along just the way we'd like to.

Well, what time do the ferries leave?

"Travel by ferry to the city of Nice." Got the money?

-Let's go. -Let's go.

Physically, I've lost almost pounds,

and I just get tired not being able to eat at the end of the day.

LORI: Do you have a ferry schedule?

"Travel by ferry to the city of Nice."

Perfect. Let's go.

Jon and I had to just stay our own solid team.

Our main thing is not to be influenced by other people's decisions.

Every moment counts.

"Travel by ferry to the city of Nice."

Do you know which ferry leaves first?

Well, I don't know off the top of my head,

but I do have it all circled, yes.

JONATHAN: Victoria and I are going back to basics.

She's going to take control of the ground.

I'm going to take control of the air.

We're going to hope that

our communication skills get back on track.

" teams have $ for this leg of the race.

One team has zero for this leg of the race."

That team's us. Let's go.

HAYDEN: Since we don't have any money for this leg of the race,

Aaron and I are going to keep positive.

We're just going to go up to people, smile,

try to explain even if they don't understand what we're saying.

It doesn't leave until, like, : to : tomorrow.

The only price that we're getting so far is euros.

We're just getting out to beg.

-Beg. -Beg, yeah.

Not bag, beg.

Uh, I know how to say-- Aaron, don't be an ass.

Do you speak English?

We're in a, um, a race.

AARON: One or euro?

-Here. -Oh, thank you.

No money? OK.

Thank you so much.

AARON: We were very embarrassed having to beg,

but, I mean, we did it anyways.

There's the ferry.

Jon, come here.

Let's grab our backpacks.

So gentlemanly, helping me out of the car.

Thank you so much.

Merci.

Thank you so much.

Thank you so much.

We need to get, what, about more euro?

Yeah.

Riding and be on our way at what? :.

You want me to get the other ?

[No audio]

No?

Begging is not fun.

Thank you very much.

So tickets with cash? OK.

So now we have enough money. Let's go.

A, B.

This is kind of cool.

Tickets from Calvi to Nice.

There's .

Hayden and I got all the money we needed to buy

the tickets on the ferry.

We were so pumped.

Merci.

Thank you so much.

So we've been making progress on this boat.

We got about more dollars.

We broke away from all the other teams

because we think that the taxis are going to be out front.

Taxi? Taxi? Wait. He's saying this way.

Going to race.

-Quick, quick, quick. -Yeah.

We are looking for the statue of Albert I.

Taxi! We need to go to JardinAlbert I.

You know where? Let's go. Fast, fast.

-A race, a race. - Rápido.

You know where the statue is?

Yeah. OK.

-Taxi? -Taxi?

-The park?-You know where?

OK.

-Do you see another taxi?-Uh-uh.

Oh, my God.

They were there. Stop, stop, stop, stop.

Oh! Right here. Right here.

I see it. I see it.

Hey, wait. Whoa, whoa.

Run, run, run.

Have to hurry up. Come on.

"Find the city of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia."

PHIL: Teams must now fly approximately , miles

to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

When they land, they'll have to find this airline counter

and sign up for one of charter flights

to a small town tucked away in Ethiopia's highlands,

known as Lalibela.

Teams will find their next clue

waiting on van windshields outside the airport.

Look at-- OK, let's go.

I don't know whether we go there

or to a travel agent.

That's it right there.

Search for the clue.

Here it is, here it is.

"Fly to the city of Addis Ababa

-in Ethiopia." -Let's go.

Come on, let's go. We need to go to International Airport.

Make this Mercedes fly.

Adam, come here.

-Ethiopia!-Shh!

It's going to be really hard and hot.

-Sad and impoverished.-Rebecca.

Instead of rambling on about how bad

this and that and your experience,

can we deal with getting there first?

Sorry.

Uh, OK. Merci.

OK.

-Come on, Aaron. -Over here.

Here it is. Here! Kendra!

"Fly to the city of Addis Ababa."

-In Ethiopia! -Ethiopia!

-Let's go. -Come on.

We're OK.

FREDDY: To Nice airport. OK, Africa.

KENDRA: It's Ethiopia.

It's going to be depressing and third-world.

We just went to a third-world country.

Airport.

Finally. We're in a race.

We're in a race against other people.

OK, let's go.

Actually, we're in a really big hurry.

We're in a race.

-Last one. -That sucked.

"Fly to the city of Addis Ababa."

A travel agent right here.

We want to go to Addis Ababa,

Ethiopia, fastest way.

We have to be very fast right now

to get into the computer, very fast.

You can't do this for us?

From now on, this is my part.

-You just sit back...-Shh, please don't yell at me.

and sit on the chair and let me do it.

-I told you to handle it. You scared her.-No.

Yeah, yeah, go, go, go We got to go fast, man.

OK, we're gonna go to Terminal One. That's got all of them there.

-All right. - euros?

BOLO: We are in a race, and we need to get

to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, today, as fast as possible.

We're gonna go check other airlines and see if we can get there earlier in the evening.

We'll be back.

Hi. I need to get to Ethiopia.

-Are you guys finding anything? -They ain't got nothing, either?

Nothing. Nobody has anything today.

Yes.

-Let's go ahead and do it. -Yeah.

-Quit crying. -Who cares?

The barbarians, Lori and Bolo, butted in front of us again,

but we're actually getting very sick of their childish antics.

That's Rome?

OK.

I guess that's the fastest way so far?

OK.

Thank you so much.

Which is the quickest flight to Addis Ababa?

Kendra!

They won't do that to me.

They have a better one.

As far as I can see right now,

-we're the only one on this flight. -Ha ha!

We're going to be in Nice for the evening.

With the flight to Rome and then from Rome to Addis Ababa.

Ok. International to Ethiopia.

There's Freddy and Kendra.

Hey, guys.

We can get in at A.M.

We just had bad luck today.

We're gonna spend the night here in Nice.

So we're staying the night in Nice at the airport.

Yeah, it's a travel agent right here.

We need to find the fastest flight from here to Ethiopia.

We're on a flight with Swissair.

We leave Nice at : tomorrow morning.

Thank you so much.

There's a chance that we're gonna get in ahead of everybody,

so we're gonna get to Rome before anybody else anyways.

Right now we're in first place.

PHIL: Lori and Bolo are first to leave Nice,

flying to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with a layover in Rome.

I say we go to the airport and go to the travel agent there. I'm telling you.

Let's go.

Trying to get to Addis Ababa.

-In the morning?-Yes.

Arriving at what time?

Can you book it for me?

JONATHAN: Victoria did a flawless job.

Victoria was victorious.

Our tickets were from Nice to Rome

and from Rome to Ethiopia.

We're hoping we are the only ones on this flight.

BOLO: We're in Rome, and just gonna stay in the airport

and try to get some sleep.

Ain't got enough money to go to a hotel.

This morning, I got up really early

and ran over to the counter and tried again.

Rome, it gets there at :, yes?

Finally found an earlier flight.

So now we are going from Nice to Rome,

and then Rome direct to Addis Ababa.

Rebecca had come over and had booked an earlier flight.

All good, girl.

We go from Nice to Rome, Rome to Ethiopia.

ADAM: Rebecca told Kris and Jon.

She's obviously got a big mouth,

and so now, I don't know.

Now they're gonna be on our flight.

That's good work, Rebecca, good work.

She can't keep her mouth shut to save her life.

We're playing a game. You are not allowed--

The point is to win. She--that gets lost on her occasionally.

They just got on our flight.

Now I'm gonna have to break my neck and get in below Jonathan

and Jon to try to get in on the first charter.

And we still might get on the second charter now,

even after we got this flight.

I'm so over it. And I think--

I love the game, I love being here, I love doing this.

But I don't love being with you. I hate being with you.

You make me so miserable all the time.

All the time.

Scoot over.

No.

I don't hate you for telling them.

I think it was not the right move.

You're very abusive, and you know what?

You're just as bad as Jonathan to Victoria.

And you know what? I'm the ass 'cause I stay.

And as soon as we get home, I'm out of this relationship.

-That's fine. -OK? Cool.

I am wasting so much energy on you.

I've wasted years on you.

I'm not going to waste another minute.

It is so frustrating

when we have a blow-up like this

because it just takes us out of the race.

Ultimately, we either pull together or we don't,

and we'll just have to see where that goes.

Right now we're going to Cairo.

We'll have a bit of a layover,

and then we're going to Ethiopia.

PHIL: Hayden and Aaron, and Freddy and Kendra

are traveling through Cairo, Egypt to Addis Ababa.

Good-bye, France.

PHIL: Kris and John, Jonathan and Victoria, and

Adam and Rebecca are traveling to Addis Ababa via Rome.

-Yo, man.-Good. How you doing?

We got here at :.

-This morning or tonight? -Last night.

Last night?

PHIL: Adam and Rebecca, Jonathan and Victoria,

and Kris and Jon have joined Lori and Bolo in Rome,

and they are now all on the same flight to Ethiopia.

When they arrive, they will sign up

for one of charter flights to Lalibela,

the first departing at A.M.

and the second departing minutes later.

-OK, let's go. -Now what?

We got to go to the departure counter.

-OK, here we go.-Let's go. Come on.

Stretch it out.

-Come on, babe.-Go, babe. Go.

I got it. I found it.

-Do you see it? -Come on!

-Oh, there you go. Good girl. -Hi.

Good girl.

-First flight. -Yeah.

Victoria, here.

This is the first one.

Bolo, Bolo, Bolo.

Oh, right here.

OK.

ADAM: We helped Bolo and Lori because we feel

that Kris and Jon are very strong.

We don't want to go to the end of the game with them.

Looks like all of the teams are ahead of us.

REBECCA: It's merely a fear of their power

and respect for it.

That sucks.

It's : in the morning.

We just arrived in Addis Ababa.

I think we're the last teams to arrive.

Hello.

There's the flag.

-Good morning.-Good morning.

You may think of Ethiopia as complete desert.

It's beautiful here.

It's lush. It's green.

-Thank you very much-Thank you.

Hurry up before they all come out. Pick one.

Let's do it.

"Direct your driver to take you to Lewz Village."

PHIL: Teams must now instruct their van driver

to take them miles to Lewz Village.

When they arrive, they'll have to find this overlook

to find their next clue.

"The driver will only go in the direction you tell him."

Great.

"Direct your driver to take you to--"

"Lewz Village."

Excuse me!

Lewz Village?

It's that way?

Thank you so much. We've got to go.

You're a guide? No guide?

Straight.

I think they're smart, asking more information.

JONATHAN: Come with us. Money. We pay you.

Come on, I give you .

Let's go! You're wasting time!

God, the other plane's coming in right now, Jonathan!

-Oh, be quiet. -Let's go!

The other plane just came in! How much longer do you want to wait?

If you see a guide, stop.

-Well, yeah. -Yes.

Over to the right.

-We have a driver?-Yep.

-Oh, we have drivers-Let's go.

"Direct your driver to take you to Lewz Village."

-"Direct your driver to take you to--"-"Lewz Village."

Follow that van right there. Do you understand?

Sir? Thank you.

KENDRA: This place is much better than Dakar.

It's a different kind of poverty.

It's like these people choose to be this way.

I think it's actually refreshing.

The animals aren't even as skinny.

Stop right here.

Excuse me. Do you know the village of Lewz?

So it's that way?

OK, thank you so much. Thank you.

Right?

JONATHAN: You a guide? You speak English?

What color is that up there?

No.

Oh, sun. Yes.

OK. Come on. Let's go.

I pay you half now, half later. Let's go.

-Does he know where it is? -Come on.

-It doesn't make a difference. Let's go.-It does make a difference.

It doesn't. Show him the clue. Let's go.

We are in a competition.

You know competition?

We just need to get there fast.

Victoria, work with me here.

He's in the car. Work with me.

Let's see if we can communicate.

-Sir, can you slow down?-Can you stop?

-Thank you. -They're asking for directions.

Hurry, hurry, hurry.

Do you know where Lewz Village is at?

The left.

So up there?

Yeah? OK.

It's there. It's there.

There it is, right there.

-Go fast, fast. -Go, go, go.

Right down there.

Here it is. Stop, stop, stop.

Rebecca, be careful.

Careful, it's muddy! Be careful!

"Detour. Raise the Roof or Mud the Hut."

PHIL: A detour is a choice between tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams have to engage in one of forms

of manual labor in Ethiopia.

Their choice: Raise the Roof or Mud the Hut.

In Raise the Roof, teams will join a group of locals

and carry a thatched roof / of a mile to a small house.

Once they place the roof on top, they'll receive their next clue.

The task requires brute force,

but teams will get help from locals and could finish quickly.

In Mud the Hut, teams will use a plaster made of dirt, straw, and water

to cover a wall of a traditional Ethiopian house.

The task does not require strength,

but working with the mud will be messy,

and having to completely cover the wall could take a long time.

This one. We'll help them. It's much better.

They'll know what to do. We'll just help them.

Which one's easier?

Which one is easier?

Roof, I think, you guys.

All right, let's do it, y'all.

We're going to do the mud hut.

Red rocks to mark the route.

-Just follow me. Come on-There's a red rock.

-Let's do the mud. -Yeah, where's the mud?

Come on, this way.

-There's red rocks. Come on. -Oh, I see.

-There it is.-There's the rock.

The mud hut's right up here.

-Start filling it up -Fine.

-I'll get it the next time.-You need to hurry up.

I'm hurrying.

-Which wall?-This one right here.

Yep, this is it.

You know what, Victoria? You need to get your head in the game here.

-Which wall?-The wall with no door.

Oh, my God, Adam. Look.

I guess that's the roof we're carrying.

Can we get of you to help us?

OK. Let's do it.

Whoo-hoo!

That's right. That's right. .

Thank you.

"Raise the Roof or Mud the Hut."

"Raise the Roof or Mud the Hut."

First we have to bring the roof over here.

I say mud.

-Hello, sweetie.-Hello.

Come on, honey.

Going to raise the roof?

Right, it's over-- OK, where is it?

-Hi. -Hi, honey.

-Hello. -Hello.

We're going to do the roofs.

-Hello. -Hi.

-Hello. -Hello.

We get your help to carry a house?

-All right. -Thank you. Yay.

Hey, hey!

-Thank you. -Thank you, guys.

Let's just start mudding.

-Start mudding? -Yep.

-Are we doing it right?-Yeah, you're doing great.

Oh, it's heavy like this.

Whoa.

There they are.

Oh, God. This is hard.

Nice work, guys.

Can you help us carry the roof?

-All right! -Yeah! Whoo!

God. What happened? You all right?

Honey!

[Groans] Oh, honey.

Oh, my God. It's blee--honey!

Honey, that cut looks terrible. It's bad.

Honey, you need first aid. Look how much it's bleeding.

-We'll wait till we're done. -Ohh!

-It's hard to run.-Hard to hold.

Get the jug.

You need some help? [Groans]

"Use the ladder to place a jug up on the roof."

Use this ladder and climb up there.

Put it right in the center. Fast.

-Come on. We got to go fast here.-Rebecca, quiet.

-I've never placed a jug on a roof before.-You're doing good.

Yay! That's it?

Yes? Yes? Yes?

-Ah! -Thank you.

-Thank you.-Thank you all so much.

Good. Good work.

"Deliver donkeys to the farmer near the church

shown in the enclosed picture. Yield ahead."

PHIL: Teams must now take donkeys

nearly miles and find St. George's Church,

carved into rock deep below ground level.

When they arrive, they'll give their donkeys

to this man and find their clue here.

-What's up?-HAYDEN: Hi.

-Party. -Fun stuff.

Fill in more holes?

You have a cut, and you're sticking your hands in crap.

Maybe it's holy crap.

[Both laugh]

donkeys?

? ?

Come on, you damn donkey!

Move your ass, you ass. Ha ha!

I don't know what to do. Is there instructions on donkey handling?

Honey?

I don't know.

I'll go up.

Nice job, guys.

HAYDEN: Good job.

Good job, babe.

Hey!

"Deliver donkeys to the farmer near

"the church shown in the picture below.

Caution, yield ahead."

All right.

"Deliver donkeys to the farmer near the church."

We got to pick up the pace here.

So what, we just take the donkey and go?

-Here we go. There you go. -Good job.

All right, everybody. Listen up!

I'm in charge here!

Let's go!

I'm good at guiding asses.

I'm just kidding.

-Rebecca?-What?

Come here.

Run as fast as you can.

Look. Hold on to this. Now grab it.

-Go, go. -Where's your donkey?

Where you left it, Rebecca. I'm glad you moved it an inch.

Please hurry, Adam.

You know where the church is?

Do we have to go this way, though?

Thank you.

"Deliver donkeys to the farmer."

OK, let's go.

How you doing?

Who wants to be my donkey?

All right, baby, grab this guy and keep his head straight.

-OK. -Just tap him on the butt a little bit.

Adam, what's the problem?

They're like, "Our donkeys won't move."

Donkey, come on. Come on.

Don't make me do this the whole way, please. I hate hitting you.

Now what?

Everywhere that you touched it--

[Screaming]

Oh, my God!

Oh! Oh, my God!

Oh, my God!

[Wailing]

I don't know what's wrong with her!

Jonathan, help her!

[Crying]

KENDRA: You OK, sweetie?

Oh, my God! [Crying]

Oh, my God!

Show me.

KENDRA: She's screaming in pain! Help her, you ass--

FREDDY: Jonathan, come on.

FREDDY: I don't know what you want, babe.

He didn't even help her!

Oh, I'm never gonna finish now. Oh!

[Crying]God!

I can't!

HAYDEN: So it's this way-- St. George.

With a church in the ground? OK.

I get the term "stubborn mule."

"Jackass."

Hello.

Hello.

-We need donkeys.-Then go get 'em.

-Come on.-Come on.

Got him? Use your whip.

It's good. It's good.

Come on. That's got to be it. There's nothing left.

"Deliver donkeys to the farmers near the church in the enclosed picture.

Yield ahead."

-Come on.-Do you know where to go? Where's the clue?

-Where do we go? -Huh?

Where's the donkeys? Jon, come on. Help me out here.

Dude, come on.

"Deliver donkeys."

Honey, we're the last team.

We're gonna be yielded. There's a yield ahead.

Where's the map, Jon? Get the map!

We got to go there. Going the wrong way, Jon!

-That way! -Go, then.

Wait!

Wait!

Where is St. George? OK.

You're sure there is no other way to get here but this road? OK.

Come on, Bolo. Let's catch 'em, baby.

You don't push 'em. You guide 'em.

Yeah, they told me to push him!

My feet are getting chewed up!

Jon, I got to put my shoes on!

Give me my shoes!

Thanks for taking us the hard way, Jon! This is great!

You know, it's not like you're carrying anything!

I see donkeys over there!

VICTORIA: Where?

donkeys?

Come on, baby. Come on. Gotta go.

-Someone's behind us. It's Jonathan and Victoria.-Come on.

-Put the bags in?-Put the bags in

I can't--I can't stop.

Take the donkey.

[Donkey brays]

How did Freddy and Kendra beat us?

JONATHAN: Why can't you just quiet down?

Because I don't want to lose because of you.

It's not because of me.

Hello.

Hello. Are you the farmer?

Hi. Hi.

Here's the donkeys.

Thank you.

Wow.

PHIL: This is the second of yields on the entire race.

At this specific spot, one team can force any other team to yield;

that is, stop racing for a predetermined amount of time.

Teams can exercise their yield power only once during the race,

so they need to decide when it's most advantageous to use it.

Any team that's been forced to yield must turn this hour glass upside down

and wait for the sand to run out before they continue on.

We choose not to yield anyone.

Who has an eye for detail?

A road block is a task that only one person may perform,

and no person can do more than on the entire race.

In this road block, one team member has to make their way

down inside this -year-old church

carved deep into the hillside from solid rock.

Once inside, they'll receive a pendant from the head priest.

Then that person must search a crowd of more than worshipers

for the one wearing a matching pendant.

When they have found a match, the worshiper will give them their next clue.

I don't know, baby.

Babe, you can do it.

-All right, OK. -You can do it.

Right down there is the base of the church.

[Worshipers chanting]

The energy inside the place

was just like nothing I've ever experienced.

[Grunts]

All right. Move, Bolo, move.

All right, church. It's good.

KENDRA: OK. Yeah.

[Wheezing] Honey!

-FREDDY: Huh?-I can't breathe!

Slow down. Deep breath.

-I can't breathe!-Deep breath, honey, deep breath.

-Hold it, hold it.-I used to have asthma as a little girl.

Control your breathing. It's hyperventilation.

Think about your breathing. Slow it down.

Honey, this hasn't happened to me in years.

It's OK. You're gonna be OK. It's just a panic thing.

I'm OK. I have breathing problems.

The kids are just unbelievable.

I mean, they actually held my backpack

and said, "Come on, Kendra, we'll do it together."

OK.

I want to take them home.

Ha ha ha!

They were so sweet.

FREDDY: It's OK. You're OK.

OK. Thank you.

Thank you.

Good job, baby.

Have some self-respect. Victoria.

Shut up, Jon.

Have some self-respect.

When you shut up, I will.

Fine.

My name is Hayden.

-Nice to meet you.-Yeah.

Oh, thank you.

The church was incredible.

I got, like, choked up going in there

'cause it was not like anything I've ever seen.

It was a great experience. It was one of my favorite so far.

"Make your way by foot to the next pit stop-- Lalibela Lookout."

PHIL: Teams must now travel by foot

approximately one mile to Lalibela Lookout,

located along this rocky path.

This scenic point is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

The last team to check in here may be eliminated.

Lalibela Lookout's beyond the Roja Hotel.

Lalibela Lookout?

-Can you show us?-Yeah, I'll show you.

. Good?

Can we go? Come on.

Jon and Kris is right behind us.

There they are! Let's go!

"Who has the eye for detail?"

-You? -Yeah.

"Who has an eye for detail?" It's all you, sugar.

Can we enter?

Could I see your pendant?

Who's a worshiper?

-Are you all worshipers?-Down there.

Oh, outside the church.

I'm so stupid.

Go, go, go. Short drop.

Fastest way.

-No, no, no! -No! No!

No!

Honey, what's going on?

They're having a religious ceremony.

KENDRA: The donkeys aren't allowed by?

The people who were having the ceremony

wouldn't let our donkeys through.

This is incredible.

We had to go around the holy place, which was very frustrating.

-Which way do we go?-Go that way.

Who do we go to? You?

donkeys?

We have to have donkeys.

-It's over. - donkeys.

You were so panicked.

I told you to calm down.

This sucks.

It's over. We're done.

It's done. It's over.

JONATHAN: What is your problem? You're always crying.

Why didn't you help me read? You're not supposed to scream here, Jon.

Pendants?

That's crazy.

I went through all y'all and there's nothing.

Doesn't match it.

I know. That's what I'm saying. It's not right.

I mean, I've walked through every one of them,

and there's none of them that look like this.

Thank you.

"Make your way by foot to the next pit stop-- Lalibela Lookout."

[WHISPERS] Go.

This is stupid.

OK, let's go. Ramon, Ramon.

Jon, let's go!

-Where we going?-It's a pit stop.

Lalibela Lookout.

-It's up there?-How do we get there?

-Can you show us? -OK.

Thank you so much.

I would get the complicated one, wouldn't I?

I'll be here all day.

He's the only one that comes close.

"Make your way by foot to the next pit stop.

It is beyond Roja Hotel."

-Let's go. Show us. We got to go fast. -OK.

This is our donkey.

-It's mine. -REBECCA: Adam! Donkey!

Go, go, go!

Rebecca, run, run, run.

-KENDRA: Freddy, help.-Please come here.

I'm trying.

I told them to yield Freddy and Kendra.

-OK. -OK.

So we are at the yield, and we choose

to yield Freddy and Kendra.

We felt it was important

to yield Freddy and Kendra to stay in the game.

Self-preservation at that point.

Adam, Rebecca! Yes or no?

-Yes! -Yes!

-OK, let's go. -Let's go.

I got you. Come on.

Thank you, baby. Thank you.

-Go. -All right. We're yielded.

We're yielded.

Why are you saying this is my fault?

-How dare you. -Honey, I was right there.

We were standing here, and you were running around up there.

-Are you kidding? -Come here.

Come here. It doesn't matter. Come here.

I'm fine right here.

Well, it looks like we're going home.

Victoria, we're still in this.

-Come on! We have a chance! -Let's go.

"Who has an eye for detail?"

-That's not me.-Yeah.

Adam, hurry up!

I shouldn't scream. It's a very sacred place.

Sorry.

No! Adam! Adam!

Adam!

Never send a woman to do a man's job.

We only took one donkey. We got to the end.

We realized that we had to get donkeys.

Adam and Rebecca are the ones who yielded us,

so the game has completely changed.

If we're not out of it, then we know who not to help next.

Are you all right?

I'm OK.

MAN: Welcome to Lalibela, Ethiopia.

Thank you.

PHIL: Hayden and Aaron...

you're team number one.

-You want some good news?-Yes, please.

As the winners of this leg of the race,

you have won a vacation to exotic Mexico,

compliments of American Airlines website, aa.com,

which you can enjoy after the race.

I was a little worried about you guys last time.

We needed a little kick in the pants to get going.

So I'm very happy, and I knew this was in us.

We just--we're hoping the bad luck's behind us.

Where we going? Where is the mountain?

Lookout Mountain?

PHIL: Lori and Bolo, you are team number .

-Whoo! -Whoo!

You guys really just don't smell so good right now.

You want a hug?

PHIL: Kris and Jon...

you're team number .

-Wow. -We're still in it.

Good job.

OK, OK. Please, let's go back.

Go.

"Who has an eye for detail?" You do.

Honey, be very detailed.

-Ah! -Honey.

Baby.

So many questions.

No? Can I see it?

No, no. Can I see?

I can't see it. Can I see?

I'm so proud of you, baby.

-Ready. -You're a champ. Let me read it.

Just calm down. Let me read it.

"Lalibela Lookout."

Which way? Which way?

-When I go in the church, can I wear your shirt? -Yeah.

Yeah. OK. Thank you.

-Lalibela Lookout? -Yeah.

-Lalibela Lookout?-Do you know?

I was right there! I was right there.

It's OK. We're not last. There's another team behind us.

I don't care! I was right there! Shh!

-REBECCA: You're OK.-Who am I yelling at? Where are we going?

Come here. We're going this way. It's OK.

-You're OK. -Just go. Go.

Finally made it.

"Who has an eye for detail?"

Me.

"Make your way to the foot of the next pit stop."

-Oh. [Sighs] -Oh, wow.

PHIL: Freddy and Kendra...

you are team number .

Yes. Yes.

You're such a hero, baby.

Kendra, what was it like for you sitting there waiting?

Well, we thought we were going home today for sure.

Everybody put your arm up like this.

[Boys singing indistinctly]

-All the way up there?-Yeah.

Is that right?

Adam and Rebecca...

you're team number .

[Singing continues]

[Whistling]

Everybody, thank you.

Thank you.

, ...

.

And I hope you tell me this is

a non-elimination round, you know,

Phil?

PHIL: Jonathan and Victoria...

you're the last team to arrive.

I'm sorry to tell you you've both been eliminated from the race.

It's OK.

It was a very trying day,

and I'm very disappointed.

Victoria, what about you?

How did you see this race?

I was so excited to come on this race

and have this experience with Jon

'cause we've been together a long time.

And I'm just really disappointed.

-Do you feel like you let each other down at all? -No.

The world is a very tough place,

and if you can conquer anything about it,

individually or as a couple,

you're doing a good job,

and that's really what it comes down to.

VICTORIA: Despite the fact that we fought so much and we were so angry,

we're definitely connected at the soul,

and we enjoyed every minute of the race,

no matter what it may seem like.

[Sobbing]

PHIL: Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

PHIL: On the next episode of The Amazing Race...

I don't want to stay here. I want to leave.

Rebecca gives Adam a dose of his own medicine...

Let's give up. That's a great idea.

HAYDEN: Aah!

Hayden barks up the wrong tree...

Aah! I am so scared. I hate this.

And Lori rages against Bolo.

I sat there and told you to read the freakin' traditional information, didn't I?
