That's me!

And me!

And me!

And me!

Ah! It's Fall and
the leaves are collecting.

I think I'll rake
some up to help out.

-Oh! Nuts, nuts, nuts.

Oh I gotta get as many as I can.

Oh. More. I need more!

Not enough! No!

-Busy time of year
for a squirrel, gathering
all those winter nuts.

-Ah. You bet.

Sorry, Teddy,
but no time to talk.

-Diedi sure is busy.

Well, might
as well get busy too.

-You're working hard, Teddy.

-I just thought I'd help
out with the fallen leaves.

-Oh, well it's...
snooze time for me

but I'll give you a paw later.

-Well I love the exercise,
but when you get up,

I'm sure I'll be ready for help.

-Ah. Fine.

-Oh, there's one.

-Mommy, Daddy and
Grandpa were out shopping,

so Caillou and Rosie
were spending a lovely
afternoon with Grandma.

-Come colour with me, Grandma.

-In a minute, Caillou. Just
as soon as I finish ironing.

-Why are you ironing?

-To make this
shirt nice and smooth.

I gave it to Grandpa
for his birthday last week.

-I didn't go
to his birthday party.

-Grandpa didn't
have a party, Caillou.

-Caillou couldn't
imagine having a birthday
without a birthday party.

-Why not?

-Grandpa had a
bad cold and he wasn't up
to celebrating that day.

-I want to give
him a party today!

-I think that's a wonderful
idea. He'll be very surpised.

-I want hats. And games.

Pin the tail on the
donkey. And a birthday cake.

-Well then, we're
going to need some supplies.

-I want to use a lot of colours.

-I think I've got some
more crayons in here somewhere.

-I can't see.

-I guess it needs
a few adjustments.

-Grandma, I want to
hang the donkey somewhere.

Mmm, mmm.

-I knew you'd find
the perfect spot, Caillou.

-Caillou thought the
decorations looked nice,

but there was
still something missing.

-We need balloons, Grandma.

-I think I've got some
left from your birthday party.

-Caillou,
maybe you have to be a little
older to blow up balloons.

-Caillou
was disappointed that he wasn't
able to blow up the ballon yet.

But then he remembered
something that he could do.

-Look what I can do Grandma.

-Wow, that's
a neat trick Caillou.

Can you do another?

That's okay. You
just have to remember to

rub a little more
gently like before.

-There!

Is this enough for
all of Grandpa's birthdays?

-Oh, I don't think we
have enough candles for that!

How about we just
put one candle in the cake
for each guest at the party?

-Caillou could hardly
wait for Grandpa to get home

so he and Rosie
could yell "surprise"

like Grandma had shown them.

-Shh.

Surprise!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

-Isn't this wonderful!

Thank you so much!

-Why didn't you
let me in on the secret?

-It was all Caillou's idea.

Hi Teddy! What are you doing?

-Well, I'm raking
up all the leaves.

-Why?

-Well, to take them
off the grass so in the

springtime the
grass can grow easily.

-Why?

-Hmm, Well... so the tender
blades of baby grass can get

lots of sun and grow easily.

-Oh.

Have you seen Diedi?

-Oh, she was
just in the playhouse.

She's very busy
scurrying around.

-I wondered if she wanted
to play pirates with me.

-You'll have to ask her.

-Okay.

-But she was really busy-

-You're lucky to have a hamster!

-Yeah. He's alot
of fun to play with.

-Caillou was very excited!

He was going to
take care of Leo's hamster

for the weekend
while Leo was away.

-That's his food and water.

You have to change it every day.

Hiya Buddy!

-Caillou was a bit nervous.
He wasn't very familiar

with hamsters and
it was a big responsibility.

-See? You can
hold him like this.

-Does he bite?

-No, but you have to be gentle.

Buddy can do tricks too... see?

-Can I try?

-Sure.

Don't move.

-It tickles!

He ate the whole carrot!

-Nah! He's just
hiding it in his cheeks!

You can pet him
on his tummy, like this.

Want to play, Buddy?

-Come on boys, time for
Caillou to bring Buddy home!

Leo! Be careful
with your hamster!

He's your pet, he's not a toy!

-Okay.

-Caillou was looking
forward to bringing Buddy home

and taking care of him.

-Here's a list
for your dad Caillou.

-Here we go!

We
have to make sure that Gilbert
stays far away from Buddy.

We want the room
to be safe for him.

Let's see what we have here...

-Leo said I have to
check his food and water.

-Everything looks fine!

-Can I play with him now?

-Buddy's sleeping
right now Caillou...

you should let
him rest for a bit.

I'm sure he'll
wake up soon okay?

-Okay...

-Caillou watched
Buddy very closely.

He wanted him to wake
up so that he could play.

-Buddy?

Are you awake?

Awwww.

Are you still sleeping?

-Caillou thought
he had slept enough

and he REALLY
wanted to play with him.

-Come here boy.

Do you wan to play?

-Caillou wasn't
sure what Buddy was doing?

He was crawling all over him and
it was making Caillou nervous.

-Aaaah!

Buddy no!

Daaaady!

Daddy!

Daddy! Buddy is hiding
and I can't get him!

-Did you take
him out of his cage?

-Yes.

-We better get to Buddy
before Gilbert does! Come on!

-He ran behind here.

I can't see him.

-We better lock Gilbert up
in his cage until we find him.

You look for Buddy
okay? I'll be right back.

-Caillou looked
and looked everywhere.

But there was no sign of Buddy.

-Any luck?

-I can't find him.

-He's gotta be here somehwere.

Hmmm... Not here either.

Don't worry Caillou, he
can't be far. We'll find him.

-Caillou! There's something
small and furry in my kitchen!

-Buddy!

Mommy! Why are you
standing on the chair?

-Me? Oh, no reason?

-Where is he honey?

-It went under the fridge!

-Here Buddy! Come out!

-Keep an eye on him
Caillou, I'll go get his cage.

-Buddy Come!

-Caillou wished
that buddy would come out.

He wondered what
he could do to coax him
out from under the fridge?

-Maybe he'll come
if we give him a carrot?

-Smart thinking Caillou!

-He loves carrots.

Watch this Mommy!

Here Buddy, come
and get the yummy carrot!

-How's it going Caillou?

-I think he's coming out!

He's out!

-Okay. Let's put
him back in the cage now.

-I'll put him back.

-Good job, Caillou!

Hmm, but how did Buddy get out?

-I only wanted to play with him.

-Playing with him
is fine, but you have to

make
sure that he goes right back
into the cage next time okay?

-That's right Sweetie.

You're responsible for him and
it's your job to keep him safe.

-Caillou, what do you say we let
Buddy really get some rest now?

-Okay Daddy!

Okay Gilbert,
you can come out now!

But you have to stay
quiet because Buddy is resting!

-Hello! Come on in!

-Hi Caillou! Hi Gilbert!

-Hi Leo! Buddy ran under
the fridge, but I saved him!

-How did you get him out?

-With your carrot trick!

-Oh, hi Diedi!

-Oh Hi Rexy!

Sorry, I can't talk now,
it's fall and I'm a squirrel.

I've got to collect
nuts for winter, for food.

Oh, I'm just in
such a rush I can't talk.

-Oh, well, I just
wondered if you wanted
to play pirates with me.

-Oh.

I really, really
want to play pirates.

-Good. I'll be the Captain
and you can be the First mate

and, and, and...

-But I, I just can't.

Nuts! I've got to collect nuts!

-Well, Teddy could
be the shark and...

Diedi?

Oh boy, she sure is in a hurry.

I think pirates are a whole lot
more fun than collecting nuts.

A whole lot more.

Maybe if I show
her she'll want to play.

I love to help my Daddy get
my baby sister ready for bed.

The first thing
I do is give her a bath.

Put soap all over her body.

Hello legs.

-I put shampoo on her.

She doesn't have much hair
yet, but I know she likes it.

-Good girl.

You're Daddy's little helper.

Then we rinse her off.

I'm getting good at this.

-Good girl. Is that a smile?

Whoo-hoo, we gotta dry you off.

-I like to hold
her and help dry her off.

-That a girl.

Okay, Mackenzie.

-Then we have
to put on her diaper.

-Okay, okay, okay...

Oh boy!

-I help Daddy
get it just right.

-I'll do this side.

Can you pick that one up.

That a girl.

There we go.

You keep her calm.

Kisses from her big sister.

-When she's all clean
and dry, and in her pyjamas,

I rock her a little,

and then it's bedtime.

Shhh... sweet dreams.

Goodnight.

-Arr-harr!

Arr-harr!

Oh, oh!

I see you, you great
big dinosaur-eating shark!

-Hmm?

I can't play right
now Rexy, I'm busy.

-But pirates are a lot more
fun than raking leaves, Teddy.

-True, they are, but
I need to do this first.

Maybe I'll play later.

-Boy, nobody
wants to play with me.

Diedi was too busy collecting
nuts, and Teddy wants to

rake leaves and, well, I'm
fun, I like to play and... well,

well that makes me really sad...

Really sad.

-Oh!

Oh! Sorry, Rexy!

Could you pass it up, please.

Winter's coming
and every nut counts.

-Yeah.

-Are you having fun dear?

-Yes, Mommy.

-What a wonderful sunny day.

-I'm going to draw the sun.

-I think the mail's arrived.

I wonder if there's
any nice letters today.

Oh.

OH.

Bills, bills, bills...
nothing but bills.

It sure would be nice
to get a letter for a change.

-Hi Caillou.
Is anything the matter?

-Mommy wants to get a letter.

-Does she, now?

-Caillou explained
how Mommy didn't like bills

and wanted to get a letter.

-Well, why don't
we send her one?

In fact, I think
you've already made one.

Yes. Look... That would
make a wonderful letter.

-Can we send it to Mommy?

-Absolutely.

We'll make sure the mailman
brings it tomorrow morning.

-Caillou knew that
people sometimes put kisses
on letters with an X.

-A kiss. That's great.

Now all we need is an envelope.

-I know where they are, Daddy.

I'll be right back.

-How about a stamp?

-Yes!

Oh, Gilbert...

-Caillou. Where are you?

Now what are you two up to?

-Nothing...

Nothing at all.

Isn't that right, Caillou?

-That's right, Mommy.

-Hmmm.

-If we want Mommy to
get her letter in the morning,

we'll have to have
everything finished tonight

and we have to get up
extra early in the morning.

-Yes.

Yuck!

-Now... What
else do we need to do?

-We need to stick on the stamp.

-That's right.

-Wow.

-The next morning, Caillou
and his Daddy got up extra early

so they could meet the mailman.

-Mommy, Mommy.
The mailman's coming.

Mommy, I think
you have a letter today.

-Well this letter
looks interesting.

Caillou! What
a wonderful surprise.

And you even
got Gilbert to sign it.

Thank you, Caillou.
I'll keep my letter forever.

-Forever?

Wow.

-It's the nicest
letter I ever got.

-Nuts. Oh, nuts.

Oh. Nuts, nuts,
nuts, nuts, nuts.

-Oh! What are you doing
sitting there all alone?

-Nobody will
play with me, Gilbert, and
I asked them very nicely.

That makes me really sad.

-Oh.

They're all busy.

-Yeah, doing boring
things. And I asked them-

-Did you ask
them if you could help?

-Help them?

-Did you ask your friends?

-No.

But they never
asked me to help them.

-Well, good friends
help each other.

-I'm a good friend.

-Oh, you certainly are!

And that's why
you should help Diedi.

I'll help Teddy,
and in no time, we'll all
be free to play pirates.

-Oh! Thank you, Gilbert.

You always have the best ideas.

Diedi? Can I help you?

-Oh! That would be great!

-Thank you Gilbert!

-You're welcome.

-Caillou. Where are you?

Well.

It's not like Caillou to
disappear when we're having...

chocolate pudding.

-That's right.

Caillou adores
chocolate pudding.

-Hey. Wait for me.

-Just look at this mess.

What did I tell you Caillou?

-I'm not s'posed to
leave my toys on the stairs.

-Caillou knew
very well he wasn't

supposed to leave
his toys on the stairs.

-Put them in your
room, please, Caillou.

-Chocolate pudding.

I love chocolate pudding.

-Caillou. Come here, please.

-Hmmm. That sounds important.

I think you'd better
go and see what Daddy wants.

-Caillou. What have
I told you about leaving
your toys in the driveway?

-I'm not s'posed to.

-That's right.

So I want you to put them away.

-What about
my chocolate pudding?

-Your chocolate
pudding can wait.

Here. I'll help you.

-Even though his Daddy
was going to help him,

Caillou still wasn't very happy.

-Caillou. I
want a word with you.

-Uh-oh...

-Caillou. You have
to tidy up all these toys.

Then you can have
your chocolate pudding.

-Yes, Daddy.

-Are you sure we
picked up all your toys?

-I'm sure. Look.

-Then it's chocolate
pudding time.

-YAY. Chocolate pudding.

-Oops. I think you'd
better take a look at this.

-Mmmmmm-mmmmm.

-You know, Caillou,
you really have a lot of toys.

And they take up so much space.

-I know.

-And there's
lots of old ones you don't
really play with any more.

What should we do?

-You could give some
of the old ones to Rosie.

-I could give her one
toy and maybe some more later.

-What you really need is
a big box to put your toys in.

Would you like
to help me make one?

-Wow. Yes.

As soon as I've finished
my chocolate pudding.

-There. That should do it.

-Thank you, Daddy.

-Let's see if
the lid fits properly.
