coming from?

I've never seen anybody
do that before.

- We're a marching band.

We march together
and play music at the same time.

- [Plays bubble guppiestheme]

- That's a trumpet.

- [Plays bubble guppiestheme]

- And that's a tuba.

- Mm-hmm.

That kind of tuba is called
a sousaphone.

- [Plays marching b*at]

- And those are drums.
- Right.

And I'm the conductor.

I tell them when to start
by blowing on my whistle.

[Blows whistle]

[Upbeat marching music]



- Duck!

- Oof!

- What happened?

- There's a duck in the way.

- Maybe he likes music.

Hello, duck.

- [Quacks]

- Okay, everyone,

I think we're gonna
have to march that way.

[Blows whistle]

[Marching music continues]



- [Quacks]

[Music stops]

- We can't play our song
with this duck in the way.

- [Quacks]

- Maybe he wants to be
in a marching band too.

- [Quacks]

- Follow me, duck.

Come over here.

Now, stay.

- [Quacks]

- Thanks, nonny.

You really know
how to talk to that duck.

Okay, band, let's go practice
somewhere else.

[Blows whistle]

- Well, good morning,
everyone.

- I'm marching like
in the marching band I saw.

- I like marching bands.

- They had a trumpet
and drums.

- I didn't see a piano.

- Marching bands use instruments
that they can carry

So they can march and play music
at the same time.

- What kinds of instruments,
mr. Grouper?

- Let's think

- What you need
is a percussion instrument.

- Percussion?

- A percussion instrument
makes music when you bang on it.

Take these, for example.

- I don't think you bang
on all of these instruments.

- Hmm.

- Which one of these instruments
do you bang on,

A guitar, a drum,
or a trumpet?

Both:
the drum.

- Right.

You strum a guitar
and blow into a trumpet,

But you can bang on the drum.

- Of course.

The drum
is the percussion instrument.

Give me a b*at, drummer boy.

- [Plays steady rhythm]

It's easy to march when you have
a percussion instrument.

- I'd like an instrument

You blow into a trumpet
to play the melody.

- It's time for lunch.

- There are a lot of different
kinds of instruments

In a marching band.

[Spitting sound]

- [Inhales]

- Gilly, what are you doing?

- I'm trying to play this tuba,
but it's not making any sound.

[Spitting sound]

- Is that how you're supposed
to play a tuba?

- It's not?

[Off-key buzzing sound]

Maybe there's something
stuck in there.

- [Plays low tone]

- Aah!

[Laughter]

- We're playing marching band.

Come on.

[Cymbals crash]

[Cymbals crash]

- Arf! Arf!

- This isn't
what a marching band

Is supposed to look like.

Both:
oof! Sorry.

- I think we need
a conductor.

- What's a conductor?

- The conductor
tells the marching band

When and where to march.

- You can be the conductor,
nonny.

- But you're going
to need this.

- What's that?

- It's a whistle.

The conductor uses a whistle
to lead the marching band.

When I blow the whistle,

Everybody start playing
and marching.

[Blows whistle]

mr. Grouper.

- Well, there are
a lot of things

A marching band has to do
in order for it to work.

- Like what?

- Let's think
about what marching bands do.

The person who tells
the marching band

When and where to march
is called the...

- Conductor.

- That's right,
the conductor.

And marching bands
start to play their music

When the conductor blows a...

- [Blows whistle]

- Whistle.

- Right.

And after the whistle blows,
everyone starts to...

[Steady drumbeat]

- March.

There were two cowhands.

- We got to march these cows
to the cattle ranch, partner.

- Okay, partner.

Uh-oh.

- What's wrong?

- It says here
that the marching bandit

Is on the loose again.

- I hope he doesn't try
to steal our cows.

Let's get to the cattle ranch
so the cows will be safe.

- So the cowhands marched
their cows to the cattle ranch.

- I sure hope we don't run
into that old marching bandit.

- Me too.

- Howdy, partners.

Both:
the marching bandit!

- Hand over the drum,
little lady.

Now, you stay right there
while I steal your cows.

- Oh, no!

He's stealing our cows.

- Ah, rattlesnakes!

- So long, partners.

- Now what do we do?

- We've got to get
our cows back.

- So the cowhands
went into the hills

To get back their cows.

- What are we going to do?

- We'll wait for him
to fall asleep.

Then we'll take
our drum back.

- [Yawns]

Reckon it's time
for my nap.

[Snoring]

- Now's our chance, partner.

Come on!

- [Snoring]

- What about our drum?

- We'll have to figure out
something else.

We're going to have
to keep the b*at by clapping.

- Hey, you all come back now!

to get out of here!

can't get our cows now.

marching bandit.

We'll get you out of there.

- Well, hurry up,

'Cause then I'm gonna get you.

- Well, that doesn't seem
very nice.

- Hey, molly, look.

There's the jail.

- Let's march him straight
into jail so he can't get us.

- Hurry up, slowpokes.

- Help us march the bandit
away from the rattlesnakes

And right into jail.

Both:

- Can I open my eyes yet?

Both:
not yet.

[Door creaks shut]

Both:
we did it.

- Hey, let me out of here.

- No way.

You stole our drum
and our cows.

- Boo-hoo-hoo!

Please let me out of jail.

I'll give them back.

- You promise?

- I promise.

Here you go.

Both:
yee-haw!

- And so the cowhands
and the marching bandit

Became friends,

And they marched
happily ever after.

- Hooray!
- Yay!

I love marching.

[Spitting sound]

Hi, gil.

Are you still having trouble
with your tuba?

- Yeah, I'm playing it right,

But I'm pretty sure there's
something stuck in there.

Bubble puppy, stay there.

Good boy.

Stay.

- [Plays low tone]

Aah!

[Laughter]

- Hurry, you guys.

Mr. Grouper is taking us to see
a real, live marching band.

cool.

- Come on.

- Ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome to the first-ever
performance

Of the world-famous
bubbletucky marching band!

- Are you excited, nonny?

- Yes.

- Hi, nonny!

[Blows whistle]

[Steady marching music]



- [Quacks]

- Oh, no.

- [Quacks]

- Duck!

- [Quacks]

- There's another one.

- [Quacking]

- No, not that way.

[Blows whistle]

Pop!

[All gasp]

- There are ducks
all over the place.

[Ducks quacking]

- We can't march
with all these ducks in the way.

[Crowd gasps]

- Ladies and gentlemen,

I'm afraid that today's
performance is canceled.

- Canceled?

- [Gasps]

All: oh, no!

- Maybe the ducks
just want to march too.

And I think I can help.

- Ooh.
- He's got his whistle.

- Hurry, nonny.
It's all up to you.

- Wait a minute.

Ladies and gentlemen,
it looks like nonny

Is heading out onto the field.

- Hello, ducks.

[Ducks quack]

[Blows whistle]

- [Quacking]

[Ducks quacking]

- I can't believe it,

But nonny is actually
conducting the ducks.

- [Blows whistle]

[Steady marching music]

[Rhythmic quacking]

[Cheers and applause]

- That was a great marching band
performance, wasn't it, gil?

- It sure was.
