- Why hello there, Daniel.
- Hi!

- Hello, Miss Elaina.

- Come in and play!
- Oh! Sounds good to me!

- I wonder what we'll play!

(kids laughing)

- Prince Wednesday's cousin,
Chrissie, is visiting today.

Come and meet her.

Chrissie, this is
Miss Elaina and Daniel.

- I'm Chrissie.

- Hi, Chrissie!

- And this is my neighbor.
- Hiya, neighbor.

Hey... I like your sweater.
Red's my favorite color.

with the knights!

- Absolutely!
(Daniel and Chrissie cheering)

(kids laughing)
- A flying knight? Ha! Ha! Ha!

- Chrissie's flying knight
is so funny.

- My knight
is on the lookout for dragons!

- Roarrr!
- Look out!

(laughing)
- Hey! I have an idea!

Let's dress up as knights.

I have knight costumes
my mom helped me make. Mom!?

- Yes, Prince Wednesday?

- Do you know where
my knight costumes are?

- Well I believe they're in
your dress up trunk.
- Thanks!

- I'll help you look.
- Me too!

- Wow! Ah, look at this! Cool!

- You're going to be
a knight too. Right, Chrissie?

- Yup!

Chrissie, do you need
any help getting up?

- Could you hand me
my crutches please?

- Of course.

(Daniel gasps.)
- OK.

- Chrissie...
what's on your legs?

- Oh! These are my braces.
- Why do you wear them?

- She just does, OK?
- It's OK, Wednesday.

My legs can't walk on their own,

so the braces help me walk.

- Your braces help you walk?

- Yep! So, I'm just like you.

I just walk a little differently

It's how I was born.
- Oh...

- So, if we play together,

my legs won't need
braces too, will they?

- No, even if you get
very, very close to Chrissie.

- Yeah! See? Rrrrreally close!
- Ha! Ha! Ha!

- Too close, Wednesday!

(laughing)
- Can I touch your braces?

- Sure. It doesn't hurt me.

- Wow! The braces
feel kind of... smooth!

- Do you wear the braces
all the time?

- Not all the time. Not when
I sleep or take a bath,

but most of the time.
I even wear them to school.

- You go to school?
We go to school too!

- Yeah, we do!
- I like to say,

(Prince laughs.)
(Daniel gasps.)

Here, Chrissie, I can
help you walk to the table.

- Thanks, but my braces
help me walk,

so I can do it myself.

- Oh, OK!

Thanks!

- Are you knights
ready to play? Roar!

- Careful!
You might bump Chrissie!

- Huh?
- It's OK, Daniel.

Sometimes I do need extra help,

but I also like to do things
for myself, just like you!

Oh.... wouldn't it be so fun

to be a knight on a real horse?

I would ride so fast!

that I was a knight
riding my horse to my castle!

of Sir Daniel the Brave ♪

♪ How he helped a king
and saved the day ♪

♪ He ducked under branches
and hopped over walls ♪

♪ Rode over bridges
and by waterfalls ♪

♪ The king had lost his way ♪

♪ But Sir Daniel
would get him home safe ♪

♪ He found
a friendly dragon nearby ♪

♪ They hopped on his back
and took flight ♪

♪ Sir Daniel returned the king
safe to his home, the castle ♪

♪ They found the way ♪

♪ And now you know the tale
of Sir Daniel the Brave ♪♪

- Wasn't that grrr-ific!

Giddyup, horsie!
- Hey, Daniel, can I
show you something?

- Sure.
- This is the way to hold reins.

- Really? How do you know?
- I love horses!

And I ride them a lot.
- Cool!

- This is me
and my horse, Peaches. See?

- Wow! My dad pretends
to be a horse sometimes.

- Really? So does mine!

I like to ride on his back.
- Me too!

Chrissie and I both like horses.

- Rooooaaar!

Dragon is coming to the castle!
- Stop, dragon! Stop!

- After him!
- Look out, Mr. Dragon!

- Rooooaarrrr!
We're coming for you!

- Rooooaarrrr!
- Come on, Knight Chrissie,

we have to go fast
to catch the dragon!

- Daniel, I can't go
as fast as you can.

- You can't go fast?
- No.

- But if you can't
go fast with us,

maybe we should stop playing.

- No, no, no, we don't
have to stop playing,

I like being a knight! I, I just
need to play in a different way.

- What do you mean?

So when you play knights,

you run around.
But when I play knights...

and guard the castle!

that we can play together.

will guard the castle.

- My braces are like
my knight armor!

Dragon is going to attack
the castle! Rrrroar!

- Not while
Knight Chrissie is here!

- And Knight Daniel too!

- Roar! Yeah? How are you
going to stop me?

- Like... this!
- Roar!

- A hug!
(laughing)

- Not a hug!

- I like having Chrissie
as a new friend!

today, neighbor?

- Hiya! It's Chrissie,

and we're visiting Eddy
the horse. Meet our friend Zoe,

she rides horses. Just like me!

Zoe helps take care of Eddy.

She brings him hay to eat
and water to drink.

Awwww!

She's very gentle
with the horse.

Did you know that horses
need their hair brushed?

Yup, It's called grooming.

That's Zoe's helper.

Now, time for the saddle.

A saddle is

what people sit on
when they ride horses.

Zoe puts on her helmet
to keep her head safe.

Now is the best part,

time to ride!

Sitting on a horse

makes you feel so tall!

Zoe sits up very tall
and holds on to the reins.

Eddy can walk slowly.

Or he can go faster!

I think Eddy needs a rest.

That looked like a lot of fun!

Bye, Eddy! Bye, Zoe!

- I like spending time with you.

(Miss Elaina laughing)

- Hmmm...
- Look at this! Ha! Ha! Ha!

- Hi, neighbor! Prince
Wednesday's cousin Chrissie

is visiting our class today.
- I sure am! Hiya, neighbor!

- We're playing dress up.
Right, Chrissie?

- Yup! And I know
just what I want to be.

Come see!
- Come on!

- Howdy!
- You're a cowboy!

- Cowgirl, thank-you-very-much!

- Cowgirl, right!
- I'm gonna be a sheriff!

See my sheriff badge?
This means that I'm the boss!

- You'll need a sheriff hat!
- Oh yeah! Help me find one.

- I wonder what it would be like
to be a real sheriff.

Heeey, that gives me an idea!

Let's make believe

that I was a real sheriff.

♪♪ My name is Daniel Tiger ♪

♪ I'm braver than brave can be,
helping everyone I see ♪

♪ I'll lasso a hat for Tigey ♪

- ♪ His name is Daniel Tiger ♪

♪ The sheriff that we all know ♪

♪ Master of the lasso,
everyone's hero ♪

- Wasn't that grrr-ific?

But I don't think I want to
pretend to be a sheriff anymore.

I want to be something else.
- Got my hat!

Let's go riiiide into town!
- What should I be?

- You be the horse, toots,
because you have a tail!

- Oh yeah... just like a horse.

- I know I have a tail,
but can't you be the horse?

- Well, I don't have
a tail, toots.

- Neither do I.
- You don't have a tail...

and you don't have a tail...

but I have a tail.

I'm... I'm different.

- Yeah! So can we play now?

- Yeah! Come on, Daniel!
Be my horse!

- Um... no thanks.
- (girls): Well... OK.

(Daniel sighing)

- I don't want to play anymore.

I'm different from my friends.

See? I have a tail.

How would you feel if you were
different from your friends?

I'm feeling sad.

(girls laughing)
- Yippee!

- Hey, Daniel,

I saw you playing over there
with Chrissie and Miss Elaina,

but now you're not playing.
Would you like to tell me why?

- I'm feeling sad,
Teacher Harriet.

- It's OK to feel sad. It's good
to know how you are feeling.

Tell me, so I can help you.

So, why are you feeling sad?
(Daniel sighs.)

- I have a tail.
- You do have a tail.

- But Miss Elaina
doesn't have a tail,

and Chrissie doesn't
have a tail, and...

and you don't have
a tail either!

I'm different.

- Daniel, the things that are
different, like having a tail,

are part
of what make you... you.

Blocks are my favorite toy,

- OK. Here.

- No, I don't have a tail. See?

- Yeah, I didn't think so,
we're different.

- Why are you asking me that?
- Well, Teacher Harriet says...

(Prince gasps.)

Daniel, I see
something different about us.

- My glasses!

I wear glasses to help
my eyes see better,

and you don't. That's different.
- Oh!

And I have a tail, and
you don't. That's different too.

- Yeah... and I like you!

I'm the sheriff.

that everyone is safe.

That's my job.
'Cause I'm the sheriff.

(Chrissie laughs.)
Right, Chrissie?

- Right! And I'm
the cowgirl. Yee-haw!

(Teacher Harriet laughing)
- You do both love
to pretend together.

- Hey. That's something
that's the same.

- Daniel, you like
to pretend too.

- Oh yeah!
I do like to pretend, too.

That's the same.
But I still have a tail,

and nobody else does,
so I'm still really different.

- I'm different too. I wear
these braces on my legs

to help me walk.
And I use these crutches too.

That's different,
and people see it.

But it's one of the things
that makes me... me.

- But it's not the only thing.

There are a lot of things
that make you who you are.

There is only one person
exactly like you.

(Chrissie laughs.)
- If we were all the same,

that would be no fun at all!
- Oh yeah!

- You know what?

- I want to be

I like being different!

I know... my skin
is different from Chrissie's.

- Good observation, Miss Elaina.

- My skin is brownish.

Prince Wednesday's is straight!

Well... my hair is fur,
and it's stripy.

- Will you take a picture

- OK, sure!

- (Daniel): I feel happy.

- I feel happy too, toots.

- (Wednesday and Chrissie):

- See? Your feelings
are the same sometimes too!

- (kids): Happy!

except I'm a kitty,

This is Gabriel.

And this is Christopher.

Gabriel uses this
to help him walk.

Just like my braces
help me walk.

Christopher is Gabriel's
identical twin brother.

That means that Christopher
and Gabriel were born

on the same day...

...and they look alike.

They play together...

and laugh together.
Christopher tells Gabriel

something silly...
to make him laugh.

Christopher and Gabriel
