I've doing it

Ah, she's a skilled veteran. Is it scary and hard?

Well, after a while

and you're calmer.

When bees sting somebody,
do they lose their stingers
and then die?

Yeah, their stingers fall off
and they die.

Well, let's get into this game
that me and Ruff made.

That's right.

There are three type of bees
in the hive.

There's one queen
and she rules the hive.

Guess it's good to be
the queen.

There are many worker bees,

and they do most of the work
around the hive.

There are a few drone bees,
they're pretty lazy,

and they don't do much.

You roll the dice

and you take the fact off

and match it with
the correct bee.

All right,
let the bee education begin.

It's the worker bee.[ bell dings]

Worker bee.
Good job, Khalil.

I think it's a queen bee.[ horn honks]

Brian does not seem
to be a bee expert.

Good thing he's working
with a professional.

Pollen baskets
are right here.

Is it a drone bee?
I think you
should try again.

[ horn honks]

It's a worker bee.

Hey, the worker bee
does everything.

They build, so...

Well, the worker bee,

that kind of makes sense

because architect, worker.

The worker bee does about
everything around here,

so I'm going to say him.[ bell dings]

Or her.
It's her.

That has to be the drone bee.

[ bell dings]
Last one.

I know it's
the queen bee

because I know
she lays eggs.

That's right.

The first thing you got
to know about the sail

is knowing about the wind.

So you have to know where
the wind is coming from.

You can lick your finger
and hold it up.

And the wind will blow
on your finger

and you can feel the cool side

is where the wind
is coming from.

I got no breeze here.

You see the little
ripples on the water

blow with the direction
of the wind.

Ah...
So right now

the wind is blowing
from there, right?

And the board is
going across the wind.

I'm in a good direction
to get going.

All right, guys, so I just
hop up on the board.

Before I sheet in,
or collect the wind,

I'm going to practice...

I tilt the sail to get the board
going across the wind,

taking little steps to keep
my back towards the wind.

Now I'm ready to sail.

And the sail fills

and I grab with my other hand
and guess what.

You're sailing.

I'm windsurfing,
I'm sailing.

Hey, the challenge
isn't over yet.

Do the doggie paddle back
if I were a dog.

You want to stay calm
around them

or they'll get all frantic
and sting you.

Stay calm around the bees.

That's not going to be
as easy for Brian.

This is the smoker.

It's to keep the bees calm.

You start a fire in it,

then you pump the oxygen
through it.

The oxygen keeps the smoke going

and the smoke
calms the bees down

so they won't sting you.

Okay, I'm ready for this.

[ phone rings]

Is that Ruff?
Yeah.

All right.

Hey, guys, how's it
going over there?

What's happening?What's up, Ruff?

All right, for the next part
of this challenge

you need to go

into the beehive.

You've got five things
you need to do.

First thing is, well,
what you're already doing.

Get your gear on.

Second thing you have to do
is you have to smoke the hive.

Third thing is find the brood.

And you can ask Maddie
what that is.

Fourth thing: find the queen.

And number five:
bring me back some honey.

All right,
good luck, fellows.

Thanks, Ruff.

Better you than me.

I'm dead.

All right, now the girls
are going to try to windsurf.

Where's the wind
blowing from?

They're checking
the wind first.

This way.
From this way.

From there.

So your back
is towards the wind.

Pull it all the way
out of the water.

Pulling the sail up.

First thing
we're going to do

is practice spinning
the board around.

See how the board's turning?

Board's starting to turn.

Keep your back
towards the wind.

Keeping her back to the wind.
That's very important.

Perfect.
Grab the mast
with your front hand.

Now step behind the mast,

one foot here,
one foot there.

Now Nevin's placing her feet.

Pull in the sail
a little bit.

Oh, there we go.

Getting her balance,
pulling in the sail.

And it's like a door.

You can close the door
and open the door.

See, when you
close the door,

you get a little
more power, right?

Oh, look at her go!
She's taking off!

Whoa, I'm actually moving.

She's doing it!
She's moving!

I didn't think... whoa!

If Ruff could
see you now.

I cansee her now.

I think she likes it.

Awesome.

You just collected
the wind and you're off.

Bye, Anna.

Hope she can come back.

Brian, you know, I'm feeling
pretty good,

and I know you're nervous,
but it's all mental,

so you just have to know
that you're going to be safe...

There's Khalil being
a good teammate.

Because you have all
this protection on.

We're in experts' hands.

It is very, very challenging
indeed to face your fears.

They look well-protected.

They're heading towards
the beehive.

I just can't wait
to see the bees.

They have their smoker.

They are armed and ready.

Smoke it.

MADDIE:
Smoke the entrance.

I can't do it.
I can't do it.
I can't do it.

I can do it.

I can't do it.

I can't do it.
I got to go.

That's about as far
as he wants to go.

Let me tell you something.

For a kid that has issues
with bees,

he got pretty close.

He's going to stay
at a safe distance,

so that leaves Khalil.

He's got to pick up
his teammate now.

It looks so boring
in there.

What are they doing there?

He's going to smoke that hive

and he's doing it really well.

He's sedating the bees
so they can go in there

and get some honey.

Look at those bees.

Look at those stingers.
Oh, man!

Oh, my God! Whoa!

Wow, look at all of 'em!

Oh, smoke 'em, man, smoke 'em!

What the brood looks like
is it's a little raised

and it's brownish.

Do you see any?It's brownish?

There.
That's the honey.

Ooh, delicious honey.

Yeah, that's the brood.This? Whoa, that's
a lot of brood.

That's all baby bees. Those are baby bees?

That's the brood.
Okay, they found it. Good.

So the queen?

You remember
how she has, like,
a longer body?

The good thing about the queen
is she's marked with a blue dot.

They marked the queen
with a blue dot?

So... Oh, I see her!

There's the queen!
There she is!

Oh, they found her!
Hey, there's the dot!

That's the queen.
That was quick.

So cool. The queen is like
this long

and she has this, like, almost
turquoise dot on her.

Khalil is giving
the long-distance update.

Isn't the noise...?

I hear the noise.

It is a little creepy

because they keep whacking
your head.

Hey, stop whacking my fetcher!

Look at my face, Louise.

[ laughs]

You want to try
to get the honey now?

All right, now Khalil's going
to get some honey.

That's the part I want.

You're going to want
to scrape it like that.

All right, bring me
some honey, Khalil.

You're dripping it
everywhere.

It's hard.

They want to save it.

They're taking
all the honey,
what's spilled,

and putting it back
in the hive.

Bring it home to Papa.

Brian was just a little
disturbed by the bees.

Brian has to keep
running the other way.

But he's definitely in his
comfort zone, so that's good.

Well, that's important.

I'm in my comfort zone
right here.

Right here in Studio G,
where there is nary a bee...

What was that?
What was that?

All right, lesson number three:
steering.

If I tilt the sail
towards the front,

Look how the board turned.

See how I'm turning away
from the source of the wind?

Yeah.

You guys see that?

If I tilt the sail back,

I start heading up
towards the wind again.

Hey, so back is towards

and up is away?

So up away, back towards.

Get back behind the mast.
That's good, Anna.

Good, good.
Good, good.

Okay, tilt the rig, Anna,
tilt the rig back
towards me.

Look at me.
Now open the door.

Turning's a little bit harder
than just a straight sail.

Okay, the other way.

Uh, uh, Julia's going down.

Like that?
Yes.

Look forward, Anna.

See how the board
is turning to the right?

Yeah.

All right, Anna's steering.

Now Julia's pulling
her sail back up.

Keep the door open.

Yeah, that's it.

Awesome!

All right, Fetch ,

bring up the satellite feed.

Let's talk to our beekeepers
and see how they're doing.

Hey, it's Ruff. What's up?

Khalil did
an awesome job.

I have to give him
some props on that.

Props to you, sir.

Gentlemen, you're not done yet.

Part one of your challenge,
you were a beekeeper;

and part two, you're going
to be a bee.

Ruff, Ruff, be a bee?

Now it is time for the...

Are you ready?

Ay-yo.

The quiz starts now.

Question one: When Anna and
Julia first start windsurfing,

Nevin tells them to keep
the wind at their...?

Back. Their backs, right?

Come on, guys.Their backs?

Is that it? Yes, backs.

It means grabbing
the wind with the
boom, right?

Uh, more specific.

you tilt the what

toward the front or back
of the board?

Yes, mast, good.

Excellent.Three.

BOTH:

so we had to move on,
but it was close.

According to the Fetch ,
that is a total of points.

Nicely done, you two.
Nicely done.

That brings us to the end
of the Halftime Trivia Quiz

and now back to our challenges.

I wonder if we're going
to have to wear it.

Uh-oh. Okay, I see...No!

Yes!

Tights!

Tights, Khalil, tights!

What size are these?

Oh, man.

Sorry, Khalil.

Ruff, my friends
are going to be
so mean.

You will regret this.

I'm regretting it now.

I can't even get mine off.

I'll be made fun of
the rest of my life.

I can't even show you.
Oh, I will.

Oh, hello!

Full moon out tonight, kids.

I don't think Khalil knew
how far up his pants were.

MADDIE:
In this game you have to collect
food from flowers

just like real bees do.

You have to collect
the nectar which the bees use

to make honey.

You're going to collect this
by using your tongues

to suck up the nectar and put it
in your honey buckets.

And you also have
to collect pollen,

which the bees use to eat,

by putting it on
your pollen basket.

Aha, the pollen basket.

What about those ridiculous
pieces over there?

This is the honeycomb.

What you're going to do is

you're going to build
the honeycomb,

then you're going to fill it
with the pollen and the nectar.

And you're going
to work together to build

the honeycomb
just like regular bees.

I'm the queen
so I'm going to go over here.

Oh, she gets the men
licking the flowers
and she gets a crown.

How cute.

Let's get going.

All right, they are armed

in their super-awesome
bee costumes.

First assemble the honeycomb.

Oh, Ruff, you are a genius.

Now, I know what
a lot of you kids are thinking.

How does a rubber ducky
steer a boat?

Well, it doesn't.

I'm steering it
from the Fetch .

That's right. I need to give
these girls another challenge.

I certainly can't do it
on their cell phones,

since it's not waterproof.

You've seen how many times

FETCH- :

BOTH:

Crazy.

Hey, guys!
How you liking

my cool remote-
controlled boats?

We can get into it, Ruff.

All right.

New challenge, kids.

BOTH:
Oh, no.

Since you're both professional
windsurfers now,

you're both going to get
on the same board.

One of you is going
to steer the board,

while the other gathers ducks

which I have strategically
placed in the water.

BOTH:
Oh, my God.

Yes, little rubber duckies
in need of rescue.

[ squeaking ]

This sounds hard.

Oh, now that's
a good-looking honeycomb.

Phase One finished--
Build a Honeycomb.

Get set, go.

All right, now they
have their tongues

and it's time to go
to the flowers

to get some nectar and pollen.

The nectar goes
into their honey stomachs,

and they're grabbing pollen
as well and sticking them

on their pollen baskets,
or their legs.

Brian is doing
much better on this challenge.

Now, you'll see,
as they're running,

sometimes the pollen falls off.

That happens with real bees.

That's right,
pollen and nectar are

the two basic food groups
for bees.

They eat the pollen for food.

They eat some of the nectar
they collect, and the rest

of the nectar
goes to make honey--

and then they eat that, too.

And they're off.

Time to rescue those ducks.

Anna has chosen to steer,

while Julia will retrieve
ducks.

They're having a little trouble
controlling the sail.

All right, they missed
a few ducks.

but there's still
time to gather.

There's many more
ducks out there.

And Julia has rescued two.

Two ducks rescued.

There's another one.

More ducks, more ducks.

Oh, there's ducks everywhere.

More ducks, more ducks.

And time!

BOTH:

ducks!

Nicely done.

This is definitely

One of the best
days of my life.

Duckies, we'll see you

Look at my two
little windsurfers.

On their first day.

Look at them--
they're doing so well.

If only they could windsurf
right into the studio.

Back and forth they go.

More nectar.
Filling the honeycomb.

Nectar's done!

Now for the pollen.

And it looks like
they did pretty well.

Time to give these guys a call.

[ phone ringing]

Hello?

Hey, you guys,
you're done.

You have filled your honeycomb.

Thank you, Ruff.

You guys just visited
flowers.

Now, honeybees

have to visit about two
and a half million flowers

to make one cup of honey.

So, if you did this every day

until you graduated college,
you'd have enough to make

about two teaspoons of honey.

All right, you guys
are all set here.

Gather up that honey you got
from Maddie's hive

and head back to Studio G.

I am ready for my taste test.

Thanks, Ruff.
See you there.

Let's bring back
our challengers.

They rode like the wind.

Let's welcome back
Anna and Julia.

Oh, hey, guys.
What's going on?

Awesome. I'm still wet.

Now, let's welcome back
the bee's knees,

the bee-utiful
Ryan and Khalil.

Hey, guys.

How you guys doing?[ laughing]

It was so cool.
I like honey.

I love honey.

Nice costumes.

I don't feel so alone now.

You guys look great.Thanks, Ruff.

What do you got there
in the jar?

It's called
Maddie's Golden Honey.

Maddie was cool.

You bring enough
for everybody?

Yeah, definitely.

Ah, give a taste, give a taste.

It's delicious.

Delicious...

All right, I'm going
to let you guys

take off your bee costumes.Thank you.

Oh, thank you.

Let's all take off

our bee costume, shall we?

I-I really

Oh, look how easy

they come off.

ANNA:
Don't k*ll
yourself, Ruff.

Don't k*ll yourself.

I can't get it off!

It won't come off!

And I'm going to look ridiculous
if I have to wear this

for my DQ award tonight.

Give me a second.

All right,
I can keep it together.

All right, come on, Ruff.

They're going to have to get
the Jaws of Life

to get this thing off.

All right, and now it's time
to award some points!

Yeah.

Tally time, Fetch .

Brian and Khalil

are looking like they're ready

to combat bees,
gamma rays, aliens,

you name it-- ten points each.

Yes!

And Khalil,

the bee-all, end-all,
you pick up another points

for smoking the hive

and finding the brood
all on your own.

Nice job, nice job.

I was scared.

Now, Brian. Hey, now.

You had a traumatic
bee experience as a child.

Yeah.

And you're not going
to get the points

because, well, you didn't
get in there, but...

Sometimes it's good
to know that, "Hey,

"I don't get along with bees.

"I'm going to keep my distance

rather than make
the situation worse."

Nicely done, sir.

So for using your brain
and staying out of trouble...

points.

Hey!

Yeah, man.

Khalil,
nice job for playing it cool

with Brian's
distrust of the bees.

Personally...

[ whispering]:
I don't trust them either.

[ kids laughing]

Good work.

Another five points
for you, Khalil.

All right,
points for building a hive

and gathering pollen,

and that leaves
the triumph tally at...

Brian points,
Khalil points.

All right.

Nice job, gentlemen.

Now, then,
Anna and Julia.

Your balancing was top notch,

your sheeting was first rate,

your steering superlative.

And what does top notch

points each.

[ pleased murmurs]

Now, there were rubber

and you nabbed .

Very impressive.

And the last four ducks have
