Jesse's our counsellor

And this is the camp

We get to stay at camp

At the camp sleepover,

- So our first sleepover

sleepover bagel spinning.

- OK. So the dozen bagels

and carrots were a bad idea.

- But the camp talent show
doesn't have anything to do

that taking away-ing ♪

- The drum set
only has three pieces.

A guitar only has six strings.

- Look again, Peg!
- Besides the usual six strings,

- And you said the trumpet

eight, nine, ten more.

- !

- OK. Officially creepy!
- It is strange!

- Wanna take a peek
at the drum set?

- I'd rather not.
- Don't do it, Peg!

- Besides the snare,
bass and cymbal, it has...

freaking out on Friday ♪

- More than we've ever seen ♪

- Wait a minute, Gophers.

We didn't get stuck
in these instruments

because of the
number . We got stuck

because we were running
around totally scared!

We all need to
take a deep breath

and count backwards
from five to calm down.

- Five... four...

three... two... one.

- Now from eight.

- Eight... seven... six...

five... four... three...

two... one.

- Do you know how many numbers
we just counted all together?

- ?

counted numbers.

- And nothing happened!

- Peg's right. You got
covered in bagels and mud

for the same reason we got
stuck in these instruments.

- We let the number
make us crazy.

- So, as long as we're not
scared, can't hurt us!

- I bet you could even

- (Cat): Oy!
- I could play all night!

- Richard's not scared
of anymore!

- But the mystery's not solved.

Who changed these instruments
to make everything ?

(tuba playing)

- Who added a bagel
and took away a carrot

to make ?

- Who made the light
shine a great big ?

- I'm guessing
it's the same person

who keeps blowing that
tuba every time we hear

- Mac! It was you?

- Eating all the marshmallows?

(muffled): It was me.

- We're talking about
the tuba playing.

- Oh. That wasn't me.
- Tessa! It was you all along?

- Uh huh.
- Scaring us with that stuff?

- Yeah.
- Why?!

- OK...
- I gave you guys

of everything
so you'd stop being scared,

and learn to love like I do.

But it only made
you more scared.

we interview amazing people ♪

- Today on Amazing People,
we're honouring Mac.

- We put together a film
about all the jobs Mac does

and Cat wrote a poem.
- To get the poem,

you need to know that
a yak is really hairy

and Paskrooki is far away.

(groaning)

- Here we go.

- (Cat): There once was
a fellow named Mac,

with more jobs than hairs on
a yak! If you counted them all

while bouncing a ball, you could
bounce to Paskrooki and back.

- Amazing poem, Cat! And you
only had to explain half of it!

- So uh, what did Mac think?
- I loved it!

It's my favorite poem ever.

I even understood it!

When you play chess,
you move pieces

like this king and queen around
on the board a certain way.

- What certain way?
- I don't know.

- I wanna move the pieces
the certain way.

I've got a big problem!

- That's it, Cat!

This diagram shows that a king
can go one square at a time.

- One! Go, your majesty!

- And a queen can leap
all the way across the board!

That's eight squares!

- The queen can really move!

- We figured out how to move
these chess pieces and so...

- Eight, eight ♪

- Ooh!

Whatever it is.
- The queen's directions

were like a riddle. And each
of those silly words she said

is a clue to solving it.
- So if we figure out

what the three
silly words mean...

- We'll solve the
REALLY STRANGE RIDDLE!

- And get us some fine
mo-mo-mo gah-gah-gah

mo-mo-mo gah-gah-gah!
- Woo woo woo, hoo hoo hoo!

- I'm saying you're wrong!

- I think it has to do

with patterns, Cat. The silly
words all repeat sounds

in a certain order.
Me-got Me-got

is a first thing,
second thing, first thing,

second thing pattern.
Like blab-jabber blab-jabber.

- Those guys like
that little pattern.

- But burble-burble splat-splat

burble-burble splat-splat

is first thing, first thing,
second thing, second thing.

Two of one thing,
then two of the other.

- Aha!
- And mo-mo-mo

gah-gah-gah mo-mo-mo gah-gah-gah

is first, first, first,

Three of one thing,
then three of the other.

- The shorter pattern
is more their thing.

- Now we know we need
to pass eight people.

We passed those two guys,

so we need to pass
six more to get to eight.

- More blab-jabber
blab-jabbers ahead!

to eight we solved the riddle.

- Now that we have another king,

involve chasing me?

- We're playing chess.

The goal is to capture
the other side's king!

- I love capturing a king.

- I don't wanna be captured!

- I don't want my friend chased!
I don't wanna play this game!

I am TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!

(horn tooting)
(whistle blowing)

Cat's right. I should
count to eight to calm down.

That's it, you hopping geniuses!

- Huh?
- Excuse me?

- You two are making
those little hops

because you're kings.
A king in chess can go one space

at a time. But a queen
can leap eight spaces!

And I'm a queen so...

I can go eight times
further than a king.

- Why didn't I think of that?
- Why are you leaving?

- Because...

being chased around ♪
