So, Mom called me and said Kanye wants us
all in San Fran for Kim's birthday.

We can't say a word.

My mom has asked Khloé and I to invite
Kim's close friends and family members,

and we just need to make sure

that these people
do not ruin the surprise.

I feel like it's something maje.

[slow rock music]

[Kourtney] I mean, I invited Larsa,
Malika, and Khadijah.

I'm gonna call Chaunch.

[CiCi] Hey, what do you got?

Hi. We're, um, talking about San Fran.
Are you excited?

[CiCi] Oh, my god! I wasn't supposed
to say anything. I'm so going!

-What do you think is happening?
-[Kourtney] Jonathan is meeting us there.

[Kourtney] We don't know
what is happening.

[CiCi] Okay, me neither.
Your mother just said, um…

[Kim] What are you guys talking about?

[Khloé] Oh, my god.

I cannot believe
Kim just walked through this door.

I have no idea how much
she heard of our conversation.

[Khloé] We were just talking
about Scott's mom.

-[Kim] Kylie, you look so cute.

Thank God Kim is completely clueless.

I mean, if we blow this for Kanye,

my birthday in San Fran.

[Kourtney] How's your mom today?
I called your dad, but he didn't answer.

He said she wasn't too responsive.
Just kind of…

nothing good, nothing bad.

Recently, Scott's mom
has been having some health problems.

Everything just seems really uncertain.

[Kourtney] Did the doctors say anything?

[Scott] No, the doctors
never say anything.

[Kourtney] Scott's an only child,
so his mom means the world to him.

-[Bonnie] What's a cow do?
-Moo.

Moo.

[Kourtney] She's so lovable and sweet.

[Bonnie] What a nice kiss.

Scott's just handling it
the best that he can.

What happened with your mom?
I haven't talked to anybody.

Well, she's okay.
I mean, she's in the hospital.

How's she doing?

-[Scott] Not great.
-[Kourtney] She's in ICU.

I mean, she's in ICU.
It's not like she's free and clear, but…

-No.
-…we're hoping for the best.

You know, my dad's there every day.

For a long time, my father has been sick
and just out of shape.

And he's been a diabetic
since he's 12 years old.

And, you know,
I kind of always knew that my father

wasn't gonna live terribly old.

So it's a really huge shocker to me
to find out that my mom is sick.

It almost doesn't feel real,

because never once did I hear
anything about my mom.

-[Bruce] Was her liver wasn't working?
-Her liver shut down, yeah.

-Is it working?
-[Kourtney] No, it's not working.

She'd have to get better,
and then get a liver transplant.

-So she's on a… liver machine?
-[Scott] But luckily, we're hoping that

-she has no brain damage.
-[Bruce] Yeah.

Because of everything that happened
with the no oxygen and all this, but…

Was she just not feeling good one day?

Like, how did it, like, happen where

-they took her to the hospital?
-Yeah.

That was basically it.

She had to go to the emergency room,
and then before you know it,

she kind of just stopped responding
and had to get on,

-like, a respirator and was in ICU.
-She was in a coma.

-[Scott] And now…
-Now she's coming out of it.

And she opens her eyes,
but she doesn't talk.

[Scott] I mean, as of now, the MRIs and
stuff are showing pretty decent signs.

It doesn't look like
there's any strokes or anything, but…

[Kim] I wonder, when she gets better,
if you can ask her, like,

"What do you remember when you're…"

Yeah, I hope that
it comes to that, you know?

[slow rock music]

[Kris] Here's Rob!

[Khloé] Yay, Robby!

[Kris] So, we'll be ready
to take off soon.

They can't believe
that with the four-day warning,

I got everybody to come up
to San Francisco

to celebrate something so special
that most of us don't even know about,

except for me and Kanye.

-We're gonna see Kimmy!
-You brought your real camera?

[Kris] The one challenge in today's
day and age with social media

is trying to keep everybody on a lockdown,
which means getting a private plane,

so nobody sees us in an airport.
Getting blacked-out SUVs,

so nobody sees us in cars,
and making sure that nobody tweets,

or Instagrams something out there
that shouldn't be there.

[Kylie] Are you excited? Like, I don't
even know if I should be excited.

We should be ready
to have an amazing, unique evening

-that is going to be fantastic.
-[Khloé] But what does "unique" mean?

-Yeah.
-[Kris] Okay.

-Hi, Kourtney!
-[Khloé] How's P?

She's fine. She's still wobbling around
like she's drunk.

[Khloé laughs]

It's so hard for me to let loose
and have fun

when my mind
is totally in a different place.

I'm more than willing to go
to New York and be with Scott,

but he really wants
to be alone with his parents.

So until he really wants me to come,
I just keep offering.

[upbeat music]

[Scott] My dad's at the hospital.

He's there every day
for the past three weeks.

You know him, like, he's already
not in good shape and, you know,

he hasn't been on his own ever,
you know what I mean?

Like, she's been taking care of him
for 40 years.

With my mom in intensive care,

I made the decision not to go to
Kim's surprise party in San Francisco.

You know, I'd love to be there.

I'm sure I will miss out
on something that's unforgettable.

[Scott] I don't mind the traveling.

I just don't want something bad to happen
and me not be here, you know?

[Scott] Going back and forth,
it's not easy

when my family's on the East Coast
and I live on the West Coast,

but I feel like my mom
needs me more than ever.

Yeah, so I'm gonna go stop
at the hospital,

try to say hi and talk to her even though,
you know, she can't really understand.

So it's just hard.

Right now, I just need to worry
about my mom and dad

and be present for them.

[slow rock music]

I wonder what this is going to be like.

[Khloé] The only information
which I got was that it was black tie.

-Mom?
-[Kris] Yeah?

[Khloé] So what's happening?

he has big surprises for us.

-I don't know. I'm in the dark.

I know my mom knows way more
than she's letting on.

And that's okay. I wanna be surprised.

a fun night for Kim's birthday.

But, you guys, he wants another baby.

it's a surprise wedding?

[Kris] We cannot project
what's gonna happen tonight,

and I think we need to relax
and enjoy the moment.

[Kat] Yeah, so I'm really excited.

Well, I have the Valentino,
the McQueen, and the Alaia.

-And that's for sure.

[Kris] Tonight is going to be so exciting.

And after they find out what's really
going on, it's gonna mean even more.

This is gonna be the most
amazing night. I'm so happy.

[Kris] I know firsthand the real Kanye.

He is a sweetheart with a huge heart
for everyone that he loves.

He's so many things that I don't think

a lot of people
really get a chance to see.

He's the best guy to my daughter,

and really has her best interests
at heart.

Even though we're all going to do
something really exciting and fun,

there's just so much going on,
there's such highs and such lows.

We're so happy and we want to be
in this moment, but it's also hard.

It's just crazy how life works.

Khlo, somebody wrote on Instagram,

My mom is making it pretty intense

that we don't ruin the surprise.

It's a normal meal they bring you
that I set up every day.

I know, but the stuff
they gave me last time was [bleep].

[Scott] Seeing my mom like this
is probably the worst thing

I've ever been through in my life.

And it's frustrating seeing my dad

neglecting his blood sugars
and his diabetes.

All I know from this experience
is that life is short,

and if you don't treat your body
like a machine, it can go down.

You know, all I want him to do
is take better care of himself.

-[Chris] Yo.

[Scott] Hey, I'm with Jeff.
He's out of his mind right now.

-[Jeffrey] Hey, Chris.
-[Chris] Hey, what's up? Come on, relax.

Oh, yeah, it's really easy to say.

At the hospital still?

[Jeffrey] No, we blew that place.

[Chris] You blew that place?

Yeah, Scott and I had a little rift,
and he sped off in his car.

You guys were just [bleep] pissing me off.
You gotta set a good vibe in Mom's room,

and you guys are all screaming
and yelling like animals.

And you're yelling, "Wake up!"

She just had a seizure.
She's obviously sedated.

I mean, think about it.

[Scott] I understand
I need to be more sympathetic

for my father's needs
and what he's going through.

It's just a tough situation
that I never thought

I'd have to deal with,
and now that I'm dealing with it,

I really don't know how.

A lot of my defense mechanisms,
I think, are to lean towards anger

and not cope with it
the right way. It's tough.

[Chris] Put a good vibe in the room,
and hopefully,

everything will be all right.

-That's what I'm saying.
-Well, she was all right last night,

but then today,
she took a turn for the worst.

[Chris] My friend had his wife
the same thing happened to her, okay?

She was out of it for about a month.

And then all of a sudden, miraculously,
she got better, and now she's fine.

That's gonna be Shuggy Bear.

[Chris] Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

She's gonna be better
and you got to believe that.

And you have to be better about yourself.

So when she gets better,
you're there for her.

-[Scott] Yeah. It's gonna take some time.
-It's a roller coaster ride!

One day she's up, one day she's down.

"I feel so sick,
I really don't want to go.

I'm trying to lay down,

and meeting with Kanye in 30 minutes
to go back to San Fran.

I would really love a simple night
sleeping in, to be honest.

I can't start throwing up again.
I feel awful."

[Kendall] What happened?

Kim is, like, still at home,
saying she feels so sick

and she doesn't want to come and…

[Khloé] But she's meeting up
with him in 30 minutes.

She was just saying how awful she feels.

-It's 7:10.

So she still isn't at the dinner?
She said it was at 6:00.

She hasn't met up with him yet.
She's sick.

We are not gonna leave at 8:30.

that's gonna happen

is these Roman candles

of this whole experience,

when they arrive at a certain point.

And Kris will let you know

and I'll let you know

for him and for her.
