♪ He-Man

[Adam] And the Masters of the Universe.

I am Adam, Prince of Eternia,

and defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull.

This is Cringer, my fearless friend.

Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me

the day I held aloft my magic sword and said:

"By the power of Grayskull!"

♪ He-Man

I have the power!

[roars]

Cringer became the mighty Battle Cat,

and I became He-Man,

the most powerful man in the universe.

Only three others share this secret:

our friends the Sorceress,

Man-At-Arms and Orko.

Together, we defend Castle Grayskull

from the evil forces of Skeletor.

[cackles]

♪ He-Man

Ah, what a beautiful rock.

I'll add this to my collection.

[Teela] And this is the new water purification plant, Prince Dal.

[Adam] This pipe will be fitted into this machinery.

[Prince Dal] It's huge!

This is more amazing than anything

my father has back in Dyperia.

Dy-Dy-Dy-who?

Dyperia. My uncle Stefan's kingdom by the sea.

It's in danger of att*ck,

so Prince Dal was sent here, where it's safe.

Dal, this is our friend Orko.

Hello, Orko.

Glad to meet you.

We've been showing Dal the palace

and the underground caverns.

And all of the sites seem to make him less homesick.

It's not hard to be homesick for Dyperia.

Ah, come on. I'll show you some places so beautiful,

you'll forget all about Dy-Dy-Dy-Dy...

whatchamacallit.

Go ahead, Dal. We'll see you later.

Let's go.

See? Isn't this the most beautiful place

you've ever seen?

It's nice enough, but in Dyperia,

the sea carves shapes even more fantastic than these.

It's a truly magical place.

Well, this place is magical too.

We have lots of magic. Strong magic.

Oh, really? Like what?

Well...

[snaps fingers]

...like this.

-And what's that? -It's, um...

well, it's the Starcrystal.

The most powerful artifact in Eternia.

It'll protect whoever holds it.

Orko, that sounds too good to be true.

I have an important use for it.

Wait, if that just--

You're right, I'd better test it first to be sure.

If this rock will do what you say,

then it should protect me from the waterfall.

And if it doesn't, I'll suffer nothing more than a soaking.

Magic from the earth and sky,

help me keep His Highness dry.

It works!

[laughs and stammers]

See? What'd I tell you?

It's a very magical place.

♪ He-Man

[giggles]

[both laugh]

It's just right, Cringer.

[whimpers]

It isn't flood season.

We'd better check this out.

Come on, Cringer.

The children!

By the power of Grayskull...

♪ He-Man

♪ He-Man

...I have the power!

♪ He-Man

[roars]

Go to help Teela, Battle Cat.

I've got to stop that water.

[roars]

The water's moving too fast.

The water is catching up.

It's He-Man.

Bath time isn't until :,kids.

He-Man, look out!

The water can harmlessly find its way back to the river now.

From now on, you kids play in the palace sprinklers.

Thanks, He-Man.

Where did all of that water come from?

I don't know, but I'm going to find out.

Ah, I think we're getting somewhere.

Hey, stay where you are.

I'll turn off the water valve.

How can He-Man turn off a waterfall?

Oh, it's not real. It was built by Man-At-Arms

for the palace gardens.

This should shut it down.

So? What happened?

Orko gave me--

[panting]

This is Prince Dal.

I was giving a tour of the gardens,

and the waterfall went crazy.

I don't know how it happened.

I see. I'd better go tell Man-At-Arms

so he can fix it.

Why did you tell He-Man that we didn't know what happened?

It was the Starcrystal.

Exactly.

He-Man would never let us keep it,

because it's... it's so powerful.

In fact, it's too powerful to carry around.

You'd better let me put it in a safe place.

[sighs]

What a day.

I'd better think of something to tell Prince Dal

before he gets us into any more trouble.

[yawns]

Oh, well, I'll think of something tomorrow.

[snoring]

I'm sorry, Orko, but my father needs this

to defeat the Torcs.

I have to take it to him.

[door closes]

Oh, what a beautiful morning.

Orko, have you seen Prince Dal?

No, not since yesterday. Why?

Well, Prince Dal is gone. I went to wake him this morning,

and his bed hasn't been slept in.

Oh, no.

The Starcrystal's gone.

Oh, I should have known Dal would take it.

I have to find him before he tries to use it.

Orko, we found Prince Dal's trail.

It looks like he's heading back home.

We'll catch him before he gets too far.

No, Teela.

He said he was going to the caverns.

Maybe you should look there.

I'll go get my father and we'll search there.

Thanks.

You'd better stay here and rest.

You look terrible.

I feel terrible.

I hate lying to Teela,

but if I don't, she'll find out

how I lied about the Starcrystal.

I got to find Dal before she does.

[He-Man] Do you really think Prince Dal would have come down here alone?

Well, that's what Orko said.

Have you noticed

that Orko's been acting rather strange lately?

I've noticed. But the important thing now

is to find Prince Dal before anything happens to him.

These caverns can be dangerous.

Prince Dal! Where are you?

Ugh, I'll never find him.

What's wrong, Teela?

I have a feeling we're being followed.

I haven't noticed anything.

If someone was following us,

I would pick up their scent.

See, Teela? Teela?

[muffled screams]

Teela!

Are you all right?

I'm fine. What happened?

It was so quick, I had no chance to even call out,

much less fight.

Those were night spiders, Teela.

They work in large swarms

and can overpower their prey in seconds.

Working together, they hide their prey easily

behind these piles of rocks.

Ooh. Thanks for finding me.

Anytime. Now, let's find Prince Dal

before anything else finds us.

[roars]

I think something already has.

Torcs. They must be going to join the att*ck on Dal's father.

[roars]

Battle Cat, look out.

The Torcs are using sleep spray.

[yawns]

[all coughing]

♪ He-Man

Whew! How on Eternia can Dal have traveled this far so fast?

He can't even fly.

It's easy when you're invincible.

Dal, that's silly.

I can see you plain as day.

Not invisible, invincible.

It means that nothing can hurt me.

Why are you following me?

Well, because I have something to tell you.

Well, I'm glad I let you catch up to me.

Whatever it is, I'll listen,

because I know I can trust you completely,

and I know you'll forgive me for taking the Starcrystal.

You're my friend.

Well, the thing is, uh...

Go on, I'm listening.

Well, it's-- what I want to say is...

You were saying?

[gulps]

We're surrounded by Torcs.

Surrender.

Whatever you say.

No. We don't surrender.

-We don't? -Of course not.

We're perfectly safe.

-Says who? -My friend Orko.

He gave me the Starcrystal, and it'll protect us.

Dal, you don't know what you're saying.

Well, I say that nothing will protect you

from our sleep spray.

Dal, look out!

Let go, Orko. It can't affect us.

-[Torcs yawn] -[bodies crash]

[snoring]

It worked. I told you there was nothing to worry about.

Yeah, nothing to worry about, huh?

♪ He-Man

Oh! What a time for a catnap.

Teela?

Teela, wake up.

Are you all right?

[yawns]

I'm fine. Ooh, just sleepy.

Father, rise and shine.

[groans]

Where are we?

The Torc encampment, I guess.

There are guards at the cavern entrance.

I'll use the Power Sword to cut through the door.

It's gone!

The Torcs have it. And my staff, too.

Oh, no.

How will we get them back?

I have an idea.

Dal, I think we're going the wrong way.

Let's go back to the palace.

No. I have to get the Starcrystal to my father.

But we're lost.

No, we can't be lost. We're invincible.

I wish you'd stop saying that.

What are you looking at?

[Dal] I knew we weren't lost.

I can see a camp. It must be my father's army.

Let's go.

♪ He-Man

[low growling]

Who's that? Show yourself!

[laughs]

Hey, I think he likes me.

Battle Cat will keep him busy for a while.

Now I'll get busy.

Why not just break the door down?

That would attract a whole squad,

and we don't have time to deal with them.

-[Torc laughing] -[licking and slobbering]

[Torc] Cut that out!

That tickles!

[laughing]

-Hey, put me down. -Hey, what's going on?

I will... in just a moment.

-Huh? -[Battle Cat growls]

Good work, Battle Cat.

I'll just take these off your hands.

Let's go.

♪ He-Man, He-Man

Who's there? Show yourself.

-Boo! -Aah!

Oh, Man-At-Arms, that was not funny.

Neither is running away.

I have a feeling that you're behind all of this.

To start with, where's Dal?

Dal is going to join his father. I couldn't keep up with him.

It's a mess. But I can explain everything, I think.

And so you will. But for now, the important thing

is to catch up to Prince Dal.

You can explain later.

♪ He-Man

Father?

-Father! -Dal.

What are you doing here?

Father, look out!

Are you all right?

It would be a lot better if you'd stayed safely

in Eternos, where I sent you.

What are you doing here?

I brought you something that will help you defeat the Torcs.

It will make you invincible.

What is this thing?

Let me see it.

[Dal] It's called the Starcrystal,

and a magician gave it to me.

It saved us from the Torcs.

I have heard there is a powerful magic in Eternos.

After all, isn't that where He-Man is from?

You have done well, my son.

With this, I can drive the Torcs back into the caverns,

where they belong.

but where's the king?

There he is. What on Eternia is he doing?

Come out, you cowards!

It looks like he's challenging the Torc's single-handedly.

Is he crazy?

He thinks he's invincible.

-[all] What? -He thinks he's invincible.

But he's not, and it's all my fault.

Let's hope we can reach him

before he finds out the hard way.

[roars]

Come out and face me,

if you're not afraid.

He-Man.

There are too many of them. Come on.

[Battle Cat roars]

[indistinct shouting]

Father!

Rally your army, Your Highness.

We'll need all the help we can get.

But I have the Starcrystal. I am invincible.

I'm sorry, King Stefan, I'm afraid you've been misled.

But you said...

I'll explain later.

We have to help your father however we can.

♪ He-Man

He-Man has rallied my troops.

Let's go.

[roars]

There are just too many of them.

Even with all of your help, my army cannot defeat them.

If only we could lure them back into the caves.

Maybe we can, and without anyone getting hurt.

Now, let's find out how good you two are at acting.

Boy, am I exhausted.

Me too.

We should be safe, though.

I don't think anyone can see us here.

[Teela] You can do it, Orko.

I know you can.

Wait until He-Man gives the signal.

Those are the leaders in front of my cave.

If we capture them, the army will surrender.

Come on, troops, to the caves!

Now, Orko.

[rumbling]

The Torcs are back underground, where they belong.

[all cheer]

You saved my kingdom, He-Man.

Thank you.

Well, I had a lot of help.

Speaking of which, Orko,

it's time you helped us all understand

what's going on here.

I wanted to prove to Dal

that Eternos was as magical as Dyperia

so I gave him a rock and told him

it would make him invincible.

-But it worked. -No, Dal.

The first time, I helped out with the magic.

After that, it was just coincidence.

It was just a little lie,

but I had to keep telling bigger lies

to protect the first little lie.

There's no such thing as a little lie, Orko.

Anytime you deliberately decide not to tell the truth,

it's wrong.

Don't I know it.

From now on, it's the truth, the whole truth

and nothing but the truth.

Boy, am I glad today's adventure's over.

Why is that, Orko?

Because I was having a hard time keeping track of my lies.

Each one led to another and another and another.

It was exhausting.

Well, that sounds like a pretty valuable lesson.

Oh, yes, it is. I learned it.

Lying is not only very dangerous to other people,

but painful for me as well.

I'll always tell the truth from now on.

-Are you sure? -Positively.

Well, we'll all see you soon again, and that's no lie.
