We're trying to see if Blue got taller, so we're using...

So, these red squares show

how tall Blue was last time we measured.

Let's count them.

Ready?

Blue was two squares tall.

And these green squares show how tall Blue is now.

Let's count.

Blue is three squares tall.

[ barking]

So Blue was two squares tall,

and now she's three squares tall.

MR. SALT: You know, I need help figuring something out, too.

I want to know what everyone's favorite snack is,

so I can make today's snack.

Mr. Salt, we can make a chart

to keep track of everyone's favorite snacks.

then a long line with some curves that goes around.

Straight lines on the side, and we have a straw.

So, what do you think Blue's favorite snack is?

Good idea.

But let's find some more clues to be sure.

SHOVEL: Squirrels!

PAIL: Birds!

Come on.

Oh, look, it's Shovel and Pail.

Hi, Shovel, hi, Pail.

What's going on?

PAIL: Hi, Joe.

We're trying to figure out

which animal we see the most in our backyard.

SHOVEL: I say squirrels.

And I say birds.

Squirrels!

Squirrels!

Birds!

So, we're making a chart to figure it out.

A chart.

Good idea.

Every time we see an animal,

we'll put one of these stickers on our chart.

so let's put two more stickers

in the birds column.

I'll put one sticker for one squirrel right here.

is the longest, so the brown pig gets the most potatoes.

Ooh, this red pig looks hungry, too.

Don't worry, red pig, we'll find out how many potatoes you need.

because the red pig's line is three squares long.

We almost forgot to feed that pink pig.

None, because there are no squares next to the pink pig.

[ truck horn honks]

My pigs look so happy!

Well, we used this chart to find out

that the brown pig needs the most potatoes...

The red pig needs three potatoes...

Oink.

But the pink pig doesn't need any.

Yep, the pink pig prefers peppers and pears.

Oink.

[ chomping]

So, now that we're in our thinking chair,

let's think.

So, what could Blue's favorite snack be with a straw...

milk...

and chocolate syrup?

Well, you use a straw to drink things,

so maybe Blue's favorite snack is a kind of drink.

And maybe it's a drink you make with milk and chocolate syrup.

But what kind of drink do you make

when you mix together milk and chocolate syrup?

Chocolate milk.

Chocolate milk.

Mmm.

That's Blue's favorite snack!

We just figured out Blue's Clues!
