05x11 - The Mystery Is History

Post by bunniefuu »

male narrator: Our heroes
continue their search,

looking for clues
to the mysterious Pokémon,

as they travel
from Silver Rock Isle

to Ogi Isle
through an undersea tunnel.

But much to their surprise,

their first encounter
on the new island

is with another Pikachu

and not just
any Pikachu either.

- Hey, that's Sparky.

- You're right, Brock.

- Sparky?

- Pika?

- Come over here.

Let's see how you're doing.

- Pika.
- Hi, Sparky.

- Sparky.
- Huh?

[together] Uh...

- Hey, Ritchie.

- Together again.

[singing]
- Pokémon

- No time to question my moves

I stick to the path
that I choose

Me and my friends
are gonna do it right

You'll never see us
run away from a fight

To be a Master is my dream

All I've got to do is believe

And I believe

I've got a chance to win

I'm on my way to victory

- Pokémon

- I can be a Champion

If I just believe

I'm on a Master Quest

Master Quest

I want the whole world to see

And I believe

I'm gonna be the very best

'Cause all I've got to do

Is believe in me

- Pokémon

- I haven't seen you
since the Pokémon League.

- Yeah, that seems
like such a long time ago.

- Great to see you again.

- Being with old friends
sometimes feels

like you've never been apart.

- Even the Pokémon
are happy together.

- We'll have to come up
with a name for that dance.

- So what brought you here
to Ogi Isle, Ritchie?

- I think there's
a mysterious Pokémon nearby.

- A mysterious Pokémon?
That's what we're looking for.

- In fact, I've been doing
a lot of research

on places
it's likely to show up.

There haven't been
many reports,

and witnesses don't even agree
on what it looks like,

but all the sightings were here
in the Ogi Isle area.

So I figured I'd come here
and see what might turn up.

What brought
you guys here?

- You know,
I think we might have had

one of those sightings
ourselves.

- You saw it?

- Actually, we just saw
the shadow flying over us.

It was right near
Blue Rock Isle,

and it was flying
really fast.

- Blue Rock, huh?

That would make sense
from what I've found.

But why'd you come here
to Ogi Isle

if Blue Rock Isle's
where you spotted it?

- Well, Ritchie, it's not really
all about research, you know.

I just get by
using instincts,

quick reactions,
and good old common sense.

- Three items
that are in short supply,

if you're asking me.

- Which I'm not.

- Whatever you use,
research or instinct,

the mysterious Pokémon
must be near here,

or we wouldn't have both come
to the same area looking for it.

- So that mysterious Pokémon
must really be somewhere close.

- Yeah, I guess you're right.

But where's the best place
to start looking?

- I think we ought to start with
that deserted island over there.

That looks like the perfect
place for a mysterious Pokémon.

- All right!
I can't wait any longer!

Let's go!

- Oh!
Got me that time, Lanturn.

Good one, Silver.
Oh.

Silver!

Silver, looks like
we got some company!

Go hide, quick!

Better stay out of sight
somewhere

till I give you the sign.

both: Huh?

- Hey, hello over there.

- Could we ask you
something?

- What?
- Do you live on this island?

- Uh-huh.

See, I live on the other side
of the island,

but I come here to play
in the bay all the time.

My name's Oliver,
and this is Lanturn.

- Lanturn.
What a cool Pokémon.

- Pika.

- [electronic voice] Lanturn,
the Light Pokémon:

the light that emits
from its tentacle-like limb

shines bright enough
to illuminate

the bottom of a deep sea.

- What a headlight.

- Can you help us, Oliver?

We came here hoping to find
a mysterious Pokémon.

- A mysterious Pokémon?

Nope, haven't seen anything
like that around here.

- Are you positive?

- Have you seen any kind
of flying Pokémon at all

or maybe just heard the rumors
of some being sighted?

- I sure haven't.

If something as unusual
as a mysterious Pokémon

was anywhere around here,
I'm sure I would've seen it.

- Yeah, I guess you're probably
right about that.

- Pika.

- Where'd that other
Pokémon go, Oliver,

the one I saw with you
when we first got to the island?

- Uh, you must be confused
about that.

My only Pokémon's Lanturn.

Uh, you should try some of
the other islands around here.

Uh, well, I got to go
clean my nails.

Uh, good luck.
Bye.

- Hmm, I was really hoping
he'd be able to help.

- Yeah, all the same, though,
it was nice to meet someone

so concerned
about his personal hygiene.

- [thinking] Something about
that just didn't seem right.

I wonder if he was
telling us the truth.

- It worked, Lanturn.
I was nervous for a minute.

But they're leaving.

- [laughs]

- Whoa!

[gasps]

Good job, Silver.

They were looking for you,
but we fooled them.

It got pretty close, though.

[laughs]

What would I ever do
without you, Silver?

- Yep, that's them,
all right.

- Make the call.

- Acquisition of target
complete.

Professor, we have a possible
Pokémon X and are standing by.

- I had about given up.
What is it you've found?

- We have found the boy,

and he has what appears to be
a mysterious Pokémon.

- Put it on screen.

Oh!
Egad!

It's a Lugia--
but so small.

It must be a young one.

Can you imagine
a more destructive force?

I must have it.

- What are your orders, sir?

- The same thing
I always order!

Fish sticks!
- Uh, no, sir.

I mean orders
for the agents--

what action
do you want them to take

regarding the mysterious
Pokémon X?

- Move in,
and capture it at once,

and make sure
it's unharmed.

- Yes, sir.

- You just want to play
all the time, don't you?

Huh?

Aah!

Silver.

Lanturn, come help!

[both scream]

Dive!

Aah!
Whoa!

Silver, this way.

- No mysterious Pokémon here,

not even a clue.

- That kid did tell us
he hadn't seen anything.

- I got the feeling
there was something

Oliver wasn't telling us.

- Huh?

But what do you think he
could have been hiding from us?

- Well, well,
what do you know?

Looks like we're in luck.

There are two Pikachu
onshore.

- Oh, double our pleasure,
double our fun.

- Nothing better
than a two-for-one.

I ain't never seen
a Pokémon like that.

- Come on!
Hurry, Silver!

- I wonder what's wrong?

- Hey, Oliver,
what's going on?

- They're trying to take
my Silver!

- His what?
- A mysterious Pokémon.

- No way.

A Lugia, just like the one
back on the Orange Islands.

- Wobbuffet.

- Oliver, this way.

Aah!

- I bet you
that's Team Rocket.

- Prepare for trouble.
You've got that right.

- And make it double.

- 'Cause we're here
for a fight.

- To infect the world
with devastation.

- To blight all peoples
in every nation.

- To denounce the goodness
of truth and love.

- To extend our wrath
to the stars above.

- Cassidy.
- And Butch, of course.

- We're Team Rocket, circling
Earth all day and night.

- Surrender to us now,

or you'll surely lose
the fight, fight, fight.

- It is Team Rocket.

- Yeah, Cassidy.
- And Buzz.

- The name's not Buzz.
It's Butch.

Didn't you hear me
the first time?

- Hand over the baby Lugia,
or we'll take it by force.

- A baby Lugia?

Go, Bayleef!
I choose you!

Bayleef, use Razor Leaf.

- Not so fast.
I choose Houndour.

- And Hitmontop.

- [growls]

- Hitmontop!

- Houndour, Flamethrower.

- Hitmontop,
Rolling Kick!

- Top.
Hitmontop-top-top-top!

- Oh, no!
Bayleef's hit.

- All right.
Hyah!

Get 'em, Cruise!
- Pupitar.

- Wow, he has a Pupitar.
- What's that?

- [electronic voice] Pupitar,
the Hard Shell Pokémon:

Pupitar is encased
in a nearly indestructible shell

and has enough power
to topple a mountain.

- Pupitar, use Take Down.

- Pupitar. Pupitar.

- Houndour,
Flamethrower now!

- Cruise's hard shell's
a match for any flame.

- Is that so?

- Hitmontop, Triple Kick.

- Top-top-top-top...

- Okay, Bayleef,

use your Vine Whip
to capture Hitmontop.

- Thanks for your help, Ash.

- No problem.
Now let's send Hitmontop flying.

- Top-top-top-top-top...

- [growls]
Houndour, return.

- Hitmontop.

- If you won't give up
the Lugia,

we'll just have to come
get it ourselves.

Full speed ahead.
- Whoa!

- Oh, no you don't,
Cassidy.

[all yelling]

- Go, Cruise!
Use Sandstorm now.

- Pupitar.

Pupitar!

- Oh, I can't see!

- We have no choice
but to retreat, Butch.

- This time.

- We'll be back.
- We'll be back.

- Wasn't that Cassidy
and what's-his-name?

- It's Butch.

He's a little sensitive
about that.

- Who cares?
Just follow 'em.

both: Aye, aye.

- Just when I was about
to take my break.

- Who's that Pokémon?

It's Spearow.

- Is everybody okay?

- We're okay.
- Thank you, Luka.

- I'm just glad
I came along when I did.

I'm hoping to find out
about my Silver Wing.

- Just admit it.

The real reason is you couldn't
get me out of your mind,

and you rushed back
to be with me.

- I kind of doubt that.

- [purrs]

- I knew it.

Yeah, this is a Lugia.

- A Lugia?
- That's right.

I saw one once before
in the Orange Islands.

So, guys,
looks like we've finally found

our mysterious Pokémon.

- But wait.
This is the mysterious Pokémon?

- Yeah,
I always heard that Lugia

were a lot bigger than that.

- Well,
maybe it's a young Lugia.

- Yeah,
it's still just a kid.

It's the same age as me.

I decided
I'd call it Silver.

- But didn't you
tell us before

that you didn't know about any
other Pokémon on this island?

- Yeah, I'm sorry I lied.

- I'm sure you were just trying
to protect it

from people like Team Rocket,
Oliver.

- Yeah.

- Actually, I don't blame you
for trying to keep it a secret.

- Yeah, we understand.

- I don't want anyone else
to know about it.

It can't fly yet, and that
could put it in real danger.

- We won't tell anybody.

- That's right.
Your secret is safe.

- Thanks, you guys.

- So how'd you get it?

Did you see it in the water
and capture it with a Pokéball?

- Mm-mm.

Actually, the whole thing
started just a week ago.

[laughing]

[thunder rumbles]

I was playing in the bay
with my Lanturn

when a bad storm
blew in all of a sudden.

I tried to get back to shore,
but the waves were too big.

[screaming]

When I woke up,
I was lying on the rocks,

and Silver was there
right next to me.

How did I get here?
Did you save me?

- [hoots]

- [chuckles]

- Hey, there you are, Lanturn.
Looks like you're okay too.

[rumbling]
Huh?

Aah!

- Was it this Lugia's parent?

- Yeah, I heard
that a Lugia's parent

is never far
from its kid.

[rumbling]
all: Huh?

[all gasping]

- [roars]

- It's a Lugia.

- So that's...
- The mysterious Pokémon.

Lugia.

[shimmering tone]

My Silver Wing.

- [roars]

- It looks mad.

- I think it must be worried

because Silver's around
strangers.

- We'd never hurt it.

- But it doesn't know that, Ash,
and parents are very protective.

- Please don't get angry,
Lugia.

These guys have come here
as friends, not enemies!

- [growls]

- I know that there are some
really mean people out there,

but we're not
like them at all.

- The whole reason we came here
is that we all love Pokémon.

- You've just got to believe us.

- Pika, Pika!

- Pikachu!

- I promise we're not bad.

- [hoots]

- It just stopped glowing.

- [purrs]

- Hey, Ash, I think maybe
it's starting to trust us.

- This is so awesome.

- Hey, guys,
maybe we should follow them.

- Underwater?
How can we?

- Show him, Luka.
- You got it, Ash.

Who wants to take a dip?

- It's lunchtime.

- So that's how
they feed their young.

- This is so cool.
- Pika.

- Hey, get back here.

- Great-grandfather.

So this Silver Wing
was a feather from Lugia,

and Lugia is the mysterious
Pokémon you were talking about.

It was your dream for me
to see one, and now I am.

- So tell me again,

why do we have to wear these
uncool Team Rocket uniforms?

- It's all part
of that same plan

of gaining success
by doing preferably zero work.

- But we failed last time.

- The greatest ideas
down through all history

have always been stolen.

- Is that a documented fact?

- As distasteful
as it is to admit,

our past couple of schemes
have backfired.

Now this time we'll present
someone else's evil scheme

to the boss
and just take the credit.

- Ooh, I love taking
undue credit.

- Well, that's good,
because I'm officially retired

from thinking up
genius plans

just to have you two
bumble them.

- Wow, that's harsh.

But I got to admit
that's a good plan

seeing how their stuff's always
so much better than ours.

- I still don't think that was
a very nice thing to say.

- Because we're bad.
We're not supposed to be nice.

I'm sick of losing to them,

and it's not going
to happen again.

- Professor Namba?

- Oh, there you are.
Where is my lunch?

- No, sir,
we're not the caterers.

We're Butch and Cassidy.

We've come to report that
the Lugia is still at large

in the Ogi Isle area.

- Unacceptable.

Get back out there and
try to capture it once again.

both: Yes, sir.

- You see,
both Charizard and Feraligatr

failed in my tests.

I need a Lugia for my Pokémon
power-magnifying project.

- [thinking] Pokémon
power-magnifying project?

- I draw out
a Pokémon's full power

and focus it into a beam
of incredible energy.

- Brilliant, Professor.

- Initiate backup
capture plan.

We do have one of those, yes?
- Yes, sir.

- You're sure you haven't, uh,
brought lunch with you?

- You two over there,

run to the galley and fetch
the professor something to eat.

While you're at it, bring some
of those little fishy crackers.

- Oh, how dare she
order me around

like her personal servant.

I'll make you pay for this,
Cassidy.

- They're bad guys.
They're not nice.

Food's on the way.

- I can't believe I'm serving
lunch to her, of all the nerve.

And why am I wearing
a beret?

- I heard they were
coming back in style.

- But we learned
about the Lugia.

- Yes,
and I'm going to steal it

right out from under
Cassidy's pointy nose.

- Hey, it looks
like Lugia's leaving.

- It's probably going to look
for more food.

- Where do you think they spend
more of their time,

underwater or on the land?

- Lugia are deep
ocean dwellers

and only come close to land when
it's time to raise their young.

- Hey, guys?

The boat's starting to run
a bit low on food and firewood.

I'm just going to sail over
to Ogi Isle

and be back
in a couple of hours.

- All right,
we'll wait here for you.

- Pika.
- Pika.

- [cooing]

- Hey, do you think
it's possible

that another Lugia
lives around here?

- I've never seen
another one.

- Hey, wait!
That's a fake!

- Oh!

- Silver, don't do it!
Wait!

- Let's follow him.
He's gonna need help.

- Right.

- Silver, no!
Look out!

- [squeals]

[maniacal laughter]

- The Lugia is ours.

- Team Rocket.

Something seemed rotten.

- Flattery will get you
nowhere.

- Thanks for finding
the Lugia.

- Thank you
for catching it for us.

- What is that thing?

- Prepare for trouble.
It's you-know-who.

- And make it double,
'cause we're nasty too.

- To protect the world
from devastation.

- To unite all peoples
within our nation.

- To denounce the evils
of truth and love.

- To extend our reach
to the stars above.

- Jessie.
- James.

- Team Rocket, blast off
at the speed of light.

- Surrender now, or prepare
to fight, fight, fight.

- Meowth, that's right.

- You're joking.
- Jessie and James.

- Just stay out of our way!

You're an embarrassment
to Team Rocket!

- But you'll be the ones
embarrassed

when we take that baby Lugia
to the boss.

- You must be joking.

- You said that.

- All right, then!

- All right yourself!

- All right.
Houndour, go.

- [growls]

- Now, Arbok. Go.

- Okay, Arbok,
Poison Sting attack.

- Houndour,
Flamethrower now!

- All right, now's our chance
to get the Lugia back.

- Silver, I'm coming!

- You actually believe
you can get it from us?

- Sorry to disappoint you.

Watch out for the long arm
of the lawbreakers.

- [screams]

- Oh! Silver.

Bayleef, I choose you.

- Go, Bayleef.
Razor Leaf.

- Go, Hitmontop.
Show them what you got.

- Hitmontop.

- Hitmontop, Rolling Kick.

- Top.
Hitmontop-top-top-top-top...

- Don't give up now,
Bayleef.

Come on, use Vine Whip.

- Bayleef.

- Hitmontop.

- Hitmontop, return now.

- Houndour, use Smog.

- [growls]

[all coughing]

- Ha.
Return, Houndour.

- Now to grab the Lugia.

- [screams]

- I love it
when evil wins.

Full speed ahead.

- You'll be hearing
from my insurance company!

[all scream]

- Hey, what happened?
They've all disappeared.

- Silver!
Silver!

- They got away, and they
must've taken Silver with them.

narrator:
Now that Ash and friends

found the mysterious Pokémon,

they're left up the creek
without a paddle

since Team Rocket
has captured its baby.

Will our heroes manage to rescue
the kidnapped Lugia?

We'll find out next time.

[singing]
