there are a large number of Rotom on Torom Island.


And so, with all of my ongoing research


I'm trying to be as efficient as possible


and catch Rotom right here.

With a body made of plasma, Rotom is able to permeate


various kinds of electric devices


causing all sorts of problems.

Hm. An excellent question.


I'm in the research stage of a paper I'm planning to write


which will deal with Rotom's form changes.


A sign of a true Pokémon expert.


Form changes is an excellent topic.


So does that mean Rotom doesn't always appear looking the same?


I gather you don't know that much about Rotom.


Which gives me the opportunity


for a live presentation of my TV show.

"Who's That Pokémon?"


Today we'll be talking all about Rotom.


If you'll look at the display, there it is.


Rotom, the Plasma Pokémon.


These unique Pokémon have been studied for a long time


owing to the special way their plasma bodies


allow them to infiltrate many electric devices.


To date, in addition to Rotom's normal form, five other forms


Rotom may change into have been documented.


First, we have the Heat Rotom.


This is a Rotom that has entered a microwave oven.



Next, we have the Wash Rotom


which has entered a washing machine.


Then there's the Fan Rotom


which has entered an electric fan.


There's the Frost Rotom


which has entered a refrigerator.


And finally, there's the Mow Rotom


which has entered a lawnmower.


Amazing. They can change into so many forms.


- You surprised? - I sure am.


I can see why the professor wants to study them.


Now, let me tell you another story.


Well, a long time ago, a toy robot


that had suddenly ceased to function


mysteriously began to move like it was alive.


A toy robot? That's weird. [AGREEMENT]


Hm, researchers at that time debated


over whether or not to recognize it


as a new type of Pokémon.


Hard to believe but true.


- That's so interesting. - Huh?


Sure is. So what happened?


Unfortunately, the robot disappeared without a trace


and hasn't been seen since.


'But the consensus is'


'it was most likely the work of a Rotom.'


Wow. That guy's spoutin' some good stuff.


I just had the most wonderful idea of all time.

Then we'll insert it in to a Team Rocket robot


and make the rockingest rocket robot that ever rolled.

that the electricity all over the island


is always flickering on and off like this.


When they're full, the Rotom go into town


and enter people's electric devices.'


They just love to scare everyone they can.

It's a bit strange to think that Rotom


would have such a good time scaring people.


A Rotom once entered into a microwave oven.

NURSE JOY While another one once


entered a washing machine.

finally came up with a solution to their mischief.


They built an electric playground for the Rotom.

We ply them with gobs of grub.

Those Rotom appear to adore Pikachu's electricity.

If I hadn't learned to protect myself from a Pokémon's move


I wouldn't be the seasoned researcher I am now.


Pokémon researchers have the toughest job.


I know he likes good seasoning but that's a bit much.

I simply want to become friends with you, that's all.
