-So many people. -A lot more than I ever imagined.

[Jessie] Twerps in the middle of this place?

[James] Normally, I'd be suggesting we steal Pikachu.

But when the boss gives a direct order, we put normal stuff aside.

We're to steal the Galar Pokémon who grow to gigantic size!

-Yes, for a giant prize! -Right!

And this time, we got the right phone for the right job!

-Wobbuffet! -[all gasp]

-Pika! -[gasping]

-[cheering, applause] -[announcer] Welcome, everyone!

It's the moment you've all been waiting for!

We're here to witness the world's largest,

world's greatest Pokémon battle

to determine the world's greatest trainer!

Welcome to the World Coronation Series!

-[fireworks booming] -So, how did we get here?

The Masters Eight, the top trainers ranked by the Pokémon Battle Commission,

have entered this competition of high-stakes battling

so that they may vie for the much-coveted title of Monarch!

But who, you may wonder, are our two finalists?

-First up, I introduce to you... Lance! -[cheering]

-All right, it's Lance! -Representing the Kanto region!

[announcer] One of the Kanto League's Elite Four

and winner of the prestigious Elite Four Cup,

Lance then went on to emerge victorious from the trainer's ultimate dream,

the Pokémon World Tournament in Driftveil City!

Lance showed his attack skills as a member of the Pokémon G-Men!

His use of Dragon-type Pokémon has been described as battling art!

A world-class trainer with world-class Pokémon!

I am now pleased to introduce our other finalist.

[cheering, applause]

Born and raised in Galar

and known for winning the Galar Champion Cup on his very first try

in battles that weren't even close!

One who has never tasted defeat!

A trainer who takes on any challengers,

even once taking on a hundred challengers from throughout the world

and beating every single one of them!

And now, Lance and Leon have taken their positions on the b*ttlefield.

We will now begin the final match of the World Coronation Series!

A trainer wins when the opposing trainer's Pokémon cannot continue.

I can tell that you're a trainer with considerable skill.

That's why I imagined that you'd be the one to eventually join me here.

the opposite from the audience, cheering and yelling.

But remember, the audience is also a bit cruel.

They want nothing more than to see one of us lose, after all!

[Leon] The reason I'm unbeatable is because I learn from every battle I see

or take part in.

[announcer] It's Leon's undefeated ace Pokémon Charizard

and, evolved from a gold Magikarp, red Gyarados!

-The time has come! -Indeed! Let's have a champion time!

[Ash] Who's that Pokémon?

-Pika? -[Charizard roars]

-[cheering] -[referee] Battle begin!

-Now, Charizard, Flamethrower! -[roaring]

Gyarados, counter it with Hyper Beam!

[screeching]

[roaring]

[announcer] Hyper Beam overpowered that Flamethrower!

Dodge it!

[roars]

I must say, Gyarados, it seems you're just as strong as I suspected!

All right, Charizard, use Air Slash!

[growls]

[grunts]

-[snarls] -Block it, Gyarados!

[announcer] Look at that! As if the kickback

from its Hyper Beam was nothing,

Gyarados moves to block that Air Slash!

Oh, that's Lance for ya!

His training is on a different level!

-Use Flamethrower! -[growls]

[roaring]

Do it!

How do you deal with that?!

-Dragon Dance! -[both gasp]

[announcer] There it is!

Gyarados uses Dragon Dance to boost its speed and attack strength!

But Flamethrower scores a direct hit!

We need to get closer. Take it down using Aqua Tail!

[screeching]

-[cheering, applause] -[gasping]

[grunting]

That's some power!

Even if Gyarados is hit with Flamethrower, it won't be that effective!

So it took the attack and used Dragon Dance,

and that increased its own speed and power!

[announcer] Oh, now that was a super effective attack!

Let's follow up. Use Ice Fang repeatedly!

[snarls]

[announcer] Intense!

Gyarados, after enhancing its power and speed,

winds around Charizard in a series of attacks!

Throw it off, Charizard! Then use Fire Spin!

[roaring]

-[shrieks] -[announcer] Oh-h*!

-Gyarados is surrounded by Fire Spin... -You're kidding!

What's Lance gonna do?

Gyarados, cut your way out using Aqua Tail!

[snarls]

Yes!

[both] Aw!

Now use Ice Fang!

This is what I've been waiting for.

[sighs] All right, Charizard, use Thunder Punch!

-What?! -[roars]

That's an Electric-type move!

Charizard had it in reserve this whole time!

-[roaring] -[crashes]

-[announcer] Whoa, that's gotta hurt. -Use Thunder Punch repeatedly!

-[roars] -Pika!

If Lance lets this go on, then he could lose!

Counter with Aqua Tail repeatedly!

[roaring]

[roaring continues]

[all gasping]

Go, Dynamax!

-[roaring] -[announcer] There it is!

-Dynamax Gyarados. -I had no idea!

They use this during battles in Galar?

So when Professor Cerise said there'd be things that would amaze us,

he really wasn't kidding!

-Pika. -Scorbun.

-Now this is battling! -Good things come in big packages, too!

So when the boss spoke of giant-sized Pokémon,

this is what he was talking about!

-This Dynasox thing is for me! -Big stockings isn't what he meant.

Wobbuh!

Oy! The word is Dynamax.

[Leon] Dynamax Gyarados. I like it!

Now I'll show you what Charizard can really do!

Gigantamax!

[roaring]

[both gasp]

-[roaring] -[announcer] It's Gigantamax Charizard!

-That's Gigantamax?! -So cool!

-Pika! -Scorbunny!

[announcer] This has gone from a normal Pokémon battle

to a super powered Dynamax extravaganza!

-Use Max Geyser! -[snarls]

The Water-type Max Move, huh?

It seems like something you'd use.

Charizard, meet it using Max Lightning!

[roaring]

[announcer] Max Lightning is the Electric-type Max Move!

[roaring]

[grumbles]

Aiming for super effective hits is the way to victory!

-Now! Use Max Strike! -[screeches]

Charizard, use Max Airstream!

[roaring]

[Lance] It dodged our attack!

[shrieking]

[announcer] That Max Airstream was a direct hit!

It's a champion time to turn up the heat!

-G-Max Wildfire! -[roaring]

Gyarados, use Max Guard!

[screeching]

[all gasping]

[announcer] Gyarados protected itself from G-Max Wildfire with Max Guard!

I wonder...

Now, get ready for the last act!

[roaring]

[shrieking]

[shrieking continues]

-[screeches] -Gyarados!

Gyarados is unable to battle!

-So the winner of this match is Leon! -[cheering]

[announcer] And Leon pulls out a stunning victory!

Now who would've thought that Lance could've lost?

Charizard, you did very well.

Now you and I are true World Monarchs!

[roaring]

Yeah! That Monarch Leon sure is something else, isn't he?

-Scor! -[Lance] You were amazing.

Now get plenty of rest.

That Dynamaxing was amazing.

I previously went on a journey to the Galar region

and trained at the Dragon Gym.

Wearing that historic uniform left a deep and lasting impression on me,

which is why I wear what I wear now.

I'd say this is a proud moment for them, too.

It's an odd feeling.

I'm not angry I lost.

In fact, I'm happy that I witnessed the rise of a great new Monarch!

Thank you, Lance. It was a tremendous battle.

If a trainer has a strong and upstanding nature,

their Pokémon will respond!

-[growling] -[James screams]

-[Jessie whimpers] -[female voice] Drednaw.

A not-very-nice Pokémon.

Once it starts to chase you, you're toast.

-[Team Rocket] We don't wanna be toast! -Drednaw!

-Pikachu! -[Goh gasping]

[narrator] A Gigantamax Drednaw has started to wreak havoc in the stadium!
