the action continued at a frantic pace

as attacks rocketed back and forth at breakneck speed.

But time ran out for May and Ash

just as their Blaziken and Sceptile were in the midst

of their strongest moves

and the identity of the winner remains hidden

within the smoky realms of an overwhelming battle expl*si*n

leaving a most important question unanswered.

ANNOUNCER A fitting end to a great Terracotta Pokémon Contest.

And now Nurse Joy will present both of our winners

with the Terracotta medal.

I'm sorry, but I never expected this would happen.

the Johto Pokémon Contests by myself.

Soon as we get to Hoenn, I'm gonna make dad

teach me everything he knows.

Then I can grow up to be an awesome Gym Leader

just like he is.

MAX/MAY [laughs]
