This is the story of their adventure-filled journey

through the world of Pokémon!

You see, Goh applied to become a member of a team

that's doing some serious research about Mew!

He got a glowing recommendation from Professor Oak,

so the next step is to take the test to become a member.

Well? What does the email say? Did they give you a trial mission?

All they say is to go to their research facility

in the foot of Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh.

Huh?

Since when was there a research facility there?

[Goh] But it doesn't look much like a research lab…

Well, well. I wondered who'd show up.

-[chuckles] -[Gary] It's Ash and, um…

[Gary laughs]

I hear you're gonna take the test.

And that's why I'm here.

Hey, even a total loser can take the test.

All you need is a Professor's recommendation, right?

[Goh grunts]

But this is where the rubber meets the road!

And what does that mean?

This won't be a cakewalk.

Project Mew is serious business.

But there's also something about it that's bizarre and familiar at the same time…

We still haven't introduced ourselves, have we?

Name's Amaranth. I'm the leader of Project Mew.

is to conduct intensive and thorough research on Mew.

And the site for that research is on this island,

at a place called Table Mountain.

This is a mass of rock that began forming two billion years ago.

It encompasses almost two thousand five hundred square miles.

That's a world record.

Nearly eleven thousand five hundred feet above sea level.

[Ash] Awesome! I wanna see that!

So where is this island located?

And is that where Mew lives?

[Danika] The project takes place during the week the rainy season changes

to the dry season.

Then it's back to rain, and a thick mist covers everything.

It's at this point that searching becomes impossible.

All Mew research information is classified.

You may ask about anything else.

Well, that's all I have.

Then, regarding your membership application,

there are trial missions to be performed.

And each and every one must be performed successfully.

That's the thing we saw Gary do!

The missions test your skills as a Pokémon Trainer.

Your skill at catching Pokémon is one. They also include giving battle commands,

alone and in combinations,

-and working with other Trainers. -[thuds]

Once you have completed a trial mission,

you will receive a special token on your Rotom Phone.

[Rotom Phone beeping]

[Danika] The one who collects the most tokens

during the trial period will be admitted to the team.

This time, three applicants will be admitted.

Combined with two previously selected,

a total of five will be sent on the search.

They're called Chasers.

-Chasers? -So two people are already selected?

Say. Could it be you're one of them?

And the other's name is Quillon.

Ninetales has a tranquil personality.

Because it lives on a guardian-inhabited mountain closed off by snow,

some say this regional form's appearance was influenced by those guardians.

What guardian-inhabited mountain?

[Rotom Phone] Mount Lanakila in the Alola region.

Wait. But doesn't that mean it doesn't live here in Sinnoh?

[rattles]

[Danika] Your mission has already begun.

What happens from here on is yours to decide.

-I'll catch it, no doubt! -That's the spirit, Goh!

[Danika] You have a six-hour time limit. Be sure you're back by that time.

-[both] Ma'am! -Let's go.

[both grunting]

[Ash and Goh] Everybody, we need your help!

[action music]

They captured it hoping to make a profit, but they were forced

to make a landing during their return trip.

It escaped around here.

I see. That's why it acted up when it saw us.

[gasps]

Its body is covered in air degrees below zero,

and it is said to have slept inside glaciers

for several thousand years.

Several thousand years?

Regice's body does seem to be made of glacier ice!

Regice may hold clues to the origins of Pokémon.

I'd like to solve this, our world's greatest mystery!

And the one they say holds the DNA of all Pokémon is the key.

The one said to be the ancestor of all Pokémon, Mew!

That's why I want Mew thoroughly researched!

It's Project Mew's most important goal!
