Now we are all ready for halloween.

(Ruby) you need to be ready when louise gets here, max,

So that we all can go trick-or-treating together

To grandma's house.

Vampire!

Ah!

No, max.

That is too scary.

Teeth, please.

I'm going to dress up like cinderella,

And you're going to be a little prince.

Hurry up and get ready, max.

We don't want to miss out on any treats.

No.

No.

Ooohhh.

Just like cinderella.

Mm, something's missing.

Your majesty.

Guess who I am.

Vampire.

[Hisses]

Little princes do not have vampire teeth

Oozing cherry syrup, max.

I'll show you.

Little princes do not have fake hands either.

Hand them over, max.

[Sighs]

Thank you.

Little princes wear red capes, max.

And they do what princesses tell them to do.

Teeth, max.

I'm going to put on cinderella makeup.

Clank!

Boing, boing, boing

The secret to good makeup is not to overdo it.

[Coughs]

Now a little lipstick.

Ruby red, my favorite.

[Kiss noise]

Now all I need is my little prince.

Don't forget your sword.

Max?

Vampire!

[Hisses]

[Sighs]

How many sets of teeth do you have, max?

Ugh.

Grandma doesn't want to be frightened by a vampire.

A little prince is much better than a vampire.

Little princes wear red capes, max.

What kind of prince wears a black cape?

[Sighs]

You look like a handsome prince, max.

[Doorbell rings]

Louise is here.

It's time to go trick-or-treating.

But scary vampires don't get treats.

I'm going trick-or-treating to grandma's house.

You might not get as many treats.

Vampire.

[Both scream]

See?

Told you, max.

Hmm.

[Owl hooting]

What happened to grandma's house?

Where did all these cobwebs and spiders come from?

No, max.

You'll frighten grandma with your costume,

And then there won't be any treats.

You stand back there.

I'll ring the bell.

Grandma is going to be so surprised.

(Grandma and max) vampire!

[Leaves rustling]

Just a minute, max.

I might need this.

Okay, you can have it.

I've already got one of those.

Summer is over,

And now a new season is starting.

You know what that new season is called, max?

It's called the fall.

And you know what happens in the fall?

The weather starts getting colder

And makes the trees shake and shudder.

And then all their leaves fall off.

Fall.

[Laughs] right.

And when all the leaves fall,

We have to make a leaf collection book for the school.

This year, mine is going to be

The best one in the whole class.

Here's how it works.

I have to collect as many different leaves as I can,

One from each kind of tree in the neighborhood.

When I find a new leaf, I paste it in this book.

I have everything I need except the copper beech,

The japanese maple,

And the rarest of all, the big-tooth aspen.

If I could find a big-tooth aspen leaf,

My leaf collection would be the best in the whole class.

Not even louise has a big-tooth aspen leaf.

I'm not stopping until I find one.

Fall.

Great, I'll look through these

And see if there are any I need.

Mmm, I don't need that one.

I've got that one.

And I don't need that one.

[Gasps]

I think that's a copper beech.

I better check in my book.

That's it.

I've got my copper beech leaf.

Thanks, max.

Fall.

Wow, that pile of leaves is getting pretty big.

I'll bet I find my japanese maple leaf here.

That's not it.

Neither is that.

I got that one.

Fall.

If I'm right, this is the leaf of a japanese maple.

Let's just see.

Aha.

Vroom, vroom.

Fall.

Max, you dumped leaves on top of my leaf collection book.

Where is it?

There's so many leaves, I can't find it.

[Imitating motor noises]

Oh, there it is.

Now, where did I put that japanese maple leaf?

Phew, I've still got it.

There.

That's another leaf for my collection.

Vroom, vroom.

Now I just have to find a big-tooth aspen leaf.

Max, we've got a big enough pile of leaves

For now.

[Gasps]

I think that's it.

[Wind blows]

Uh-oh.

Where did it go?

Stop right there, max.

You don't need to put any more leaves on this pile.

That big-tooth aspen leaf has to be here somewhere.

Not another step, max.

In fact, why don't you take a step back from the pile?

The slightest breeze could move those leaves,

And I'll lose my big-tooth aspen leaf for good.

[Rustling]

You could even take a few more steps back,

Just to be on the safe side.

That's good, max.

[Gasps]

Here's the leaf.

I'm just going to double-check that this yellow leaf

Is a big-tooth aspen.

Okay, it should look like this.

That's it.

I found my big-tooth aspen leaf.

Isn't that wonderful, max?

I'll have the best leaf collection book

In the whole class.

Max?

Max?

Max!

No!

Ah!

Oh, I was so close to having the best leaf collection

In the whole class.

Now I'll never find my big-tooth aspen leaf.

I can't believe it, my big-tooth aspen leaf.

How on earth did that happen?

Fall.

[Laughs]

Okay, max,

Just one more story, and then it's lights out.
