A woman who has held the family together
finds herself a kind of outcast, while another
feels the need of a forbidden secret which
can only destroy her.

demand to find out how far we've gone with the experiment.

is missing, and I know that's how you don't feel.

In an empty crypt at the edge of the Collins Cemetery,
the cemetery where I'm going to be buried.
They are hiding my coffin there, in the crypt.
And when she saw me in the doorway,
she screamed at me to get out.
She knew I'd found the secret.
She screamed at me to leave.
- Julia?

♪ [dramatic music]

- What are you doing here?
- I-- I-- I was, uh, just looking for Barnabas,
Mrs. Stoddard. - You're spying on me.
- Oh, no, Mrs. Stoddard. I swear.
[stammering]
I just thought I heard a door slam.
- No one must see that I'm here. - Well, Mrs. Stoddard--
I'll do that, Mrs. Stoddard.
Uh, where did Barnabas go, ma'am?
- I don't know what concern that is of yours.
He's on an errand for me.
If anyone comes to the door, you answer
it and you tell them that I'm not here,
that you haven't seen me.
I don't want to see anyone tonight.

I-- I-- I'll do that. [clatter]

[creaks]
