[shadowy music]

NARRATOR: Collinwood in parallel time,

and a night of horror and death

where Sabrina discovered Maggie Collins' jail

and ran to Collinwood for help,

not knowing that Yaeger was not far behind her.

But before she could tell anyone or call the police,

Yaeger k*lled her, as one sudden witness can testify.

[suspenseful music]

[dramatic music]

[spooky music]

- You're next, Mrs. Stoddard!

[banging on the door]

- Hello, operator, operator!

Oh, no!

- Mrs. Stoddard?

Mrs. Stoddard, what is it, what's happening?

ELIZABETH: Police, get the police!

He's k*lled Sabrina!

- What? - I saw it.

He's in there! Get help, get help!

JULIA: Who's in there?

ELIZABETH: Cyrus's friend, Yaeger.

He k*lled her, I tell you, he k*lled her!

JOHN VOICEOVER: Cyrus.

I must get to the lab.

The antidote.

[trembling music]

ELIZABETH: The phone's been pulled out.

[glass shattering]

He'll try to break into the house.

JULIA: No, no he won't.

- He will, he tried to k*ll me.

[suspenseful music]

Don't.

- She might still be alive.

[nervous music]

- Wait! He may be hiding.

- No no, he's gone, Mrs. Stoddard.

You check that telephone.

- It's been disconnected too.

- She's dead.

- What are we going to do?

- I'll call-- - If only Quentin or Roger

were here.

- I'll go and call the police from the Old House.

- No, he may still be on the grounds.

- No, no, he's gone as far away from here as he can.

- No, please, don't go.

- Mrs. Stoddard, just lock the door after I leave.

Do you know where there's a g*n in this house?

Well get it, and keep it.

You'll be all right.

- Why did he k*ll her?

What was she doing here?

I left them both in Cyrus's laboratory.

They were going to work.

What could have happened?

I don't know.

[sinister music]

- Yes Sergeant, Mrs. Stoddard recognized the m*rder*r.

John Yaeger.

He works for Dr. Cyrus Longworth.

That's all I know.

Will you send someone to Collinwood immediately, please?

Thank you, thank you very much.

[haunting music]

JULIA VOICEOVER: No one is here.

Take advantage of it.

It shouldn't take too long to discover

why Barnabas Collins went in that secret room.

He touched something here.

What does it mean?

He came in this room.

[uneasy music]

Why would he keep a coffin?

Angelique will be pleased to know this.

Yes.

[eerie music]

- What are you doing here?

JULIA: Mr. Collins.

- Explain yourself!

JULIA: Sabrina's been m*rder*d at Collinwood.

- What?

JULIA: Yes, Mrs. Stoddard sent me here.

- Who did this?

JULIA: John Yaeger.

[suspenseful music]

JOHN VOICEOVER: Only enough for this one time,

and then--

[knocking on the door]

POLICEMAN: Open up, it's the police!

[knocking on the door]

[dramatic music]

[knocking on the door]

CYRUS VOICEOVER: The last of the potion.

[knocking on the door]

This is the end.

[knocking on the door]

I must tell them everything.

[knocking on the door]

- Coming!

I'm coming!

[ominous music]

POLICEMAN: How come it took you so long

to open up the door?

- I'm sorry.

I was upstairs in my sleeping quarters.

What can I do for you, Officer?

- I'm looking for a John Yaeger.

- Yaeger?

He's not in town. I'm sure of it.

- Oh yes, he is, we happen to know that.

- Oh.

Oh yeah, see, I was out of town myself for a few days.

Why are you looking for him?

- m*rder.

- m*rder?

Who?

- The victim worked for you too, I understand.

[astonished music]

- Sabrina?

[somber music]

No.

She was my fiancé.

- I didn't know that, I'm sorry.

Any reason why he'd do it?

I'm sorry, this is important.

- No, no, no idea.

She was so kind to everybody.

POLICEMAN: I thought maybe he'd come back here.

[eerie music]

- No. No.

- Any idea where he'd go then, Doctor?

I mean, You were close friends.

You worked with him.

You were familiar with his habits.

I imagine--

- I'm sorry.

This has been a dreadful shock, I'm sorry.

- I realize that, Doctor,

but time is the only w*apon we have.

Now, you want to see him caught?

- Yes, he must!

POLICEMAN: Well just answer a few questions.

Now where did he live?

- He took some rooms at Mrs. Duval's.

It's a rooming house on Front Street.

He wasn't there much.

He was a brilliant man.

But no one could tie him down.

Whenever he was in town, he'd come in and he'd work here,

for me, as a chemist.

POLICEMAN: And when he wasn't in Collinsport?

- He moved around a lot,

but I suppose this could be

called his permanent address.

Yes.

Officer!

- Yes, Dr. Longworth?

What is it you wanted to say?

- Just, where did the m*rder take place?

- Collinwood.

- Do you have any idea why they were there?

- Your guess is as good as mine.

I'll check on Mrs. DuVal.

I'll leave a man here tonight outside.

If he should happen to come back here--

- Yes, I'll call you.

Of course, first thing.

- Be very careful.

He's a madman.

[troubled music]

- He was mad.

Sabrina.

Sabrina, what am I going to do?

- That poor girl.

I think of Cyrus.

- Has anyone informed him?

- The police are sending someone over there,

but he's out of town. I don't know where.

[sirens whirring]

Barnabas.

I can't go in that room now.

BARNABAS: Elizabeth.

- I'll always remember his hands around her throat.

- Just talk. It'll do you good.

Now she's gone now.

There's nothing in this room to be frightened of.

[suspenseful music]

Why were Yaeger and Sabrina here, do you suppose?

- I can't figure that out.

- Did you know that Yaeger once threatened Maggie Collins?

- No.

- Well, I heard about it in town.

He was very fond of her.

- Maybe he came here thinking he'd find her.

- That's a possibility.

ELIZABETH: Are there any others?

- I don't know.

Look, he must have torn the telephone

right out of her hands.

Who could Sabrina have been calling?

We must find out, not only for Sabrina,

but Maggie's somehow involved in this.

- Barnabas. - BARNABAS: I know it.

- How can she be?

- There are so many questions about Maggie.

But the one that interests me most is where is she?

- I thought I knew Maggie so well.

Yet I can't answer that.

This house, the things that happen here are so strange.

It frightens me.

This house frightens me somehow.

- Come, let me take you to the Loomis house.

- I can't go, the children.

- Hoffman's here.

We must call the police, and we can't here.

Perhaps they've got Yaeger,

and if they have, I must tell the police

that he feels like he does towards Maggie.

Now come.

[somber music]

MAGGIE VOICEOVER: I must!

I must!

[mysterious music]

CYRUS VOICEOVER: You must call someone,

before you become Yaeger again.

You cannot leave that girl there.

She must be found before you feel the pain.

Because you will, you will.

You can't stop turning into him now.

You can't.

But I can't call them at Collinwood.

Yaeger saw to that.

But I can call Barnabas.

[dramatic music]

- Thank you, Sheriff.

ELIZABETH: What did the police say?

- Cyrus. - He's back?

- Yes.

He's told the police where Yaeger lives,

occasionally, at least.

[phone rings]

Hello?

- Barnabas, this is Cyrus Longworth.

BARNABAS: Oh yes, Cyrus.

Both Mrs. Stoddard and I were very upset about Sabrina.

- Yes, thank you.

Thank you, but listen, listen to me, Barnabas,

because I know where Maggie is.

- What?

He knows where Maggie is.

CYRUS: He has imprisoned her.

- Where?

CYRUS: Barnabas, it's very dangerous to go there.

- Where does Yaeger have her prisoner?

CYRUS: The Wiggs farm.

- Do you know where that is?

CYRUS: In the basement.

She's sick, I believe.

- How do you know all that?

- Don't ask me.

I can't tell you, Barnabas!

Would you just go,

go and be very careful,

be very, very careful,

because Yaeger may get there before you.

I may not be able to stop him,

do you understand?

Barnabas, I warned you,

and now there's nothing more I can do.

- Hello?

- I'm going with you.

- No, just tell me the quickest way to get there.

[dreadful music]

CYRUS VOICEOVER: It's over now.

You will never be able to explain how you know.

It's over.

You couldn't resist being Yaeger.

How he wouldn't have it, you know.

Nothing tortured him.

Nothing!

He lied, he k*lled.

You thought you could keep him secret,

to become him when you wanted,

but now,

but now you become him even when you don't want,

when you hate the idea so much that you can...

[suspenseful music]

- Goodbye.

Goodbye, John Yaeger.

[trembling music]

[terror-stricken music]

- Mrs. Collins, I can't believe it.

Mrs. Collins a prisoner.

- Coming back in the car, I started thinking.

How did Cyrus know?

How long has he known?

What is this curious hold Yaeger has over him?

He's obviously terrified of Yaeger.

He kept warning Barnabas.

- I don't think Mr. Barnabas Collins

needs any help,

I think he can take care of himself.

- But he's been gone a half an hour.

Why hasn't he come back?

- Did Mr. Barnabas tell all this to the police?

- No, he didn't.

It all happened so quickly, we didn't think.

And Cyrus made it seem so urgent.

- I don't think Yaeger will be there.

- Cyrus said he would.

There's a police car at the gate.

I'm going to tell them.

- Mrs. Stoddard.

JULIA VOICEOVER: So much has happened,

and Angelique does not know.

[mysterious music]

BARNABAS VOICEOVER: Maggie was here.

Her brush.

[ominous music]

MAGGIE VOICEOVER: He'll look upstairs.

Then I'll have a chance out of here once he leaves.

[trembling music]

[Maggie screams] [John laughs]

- Did you think I forgot about you, darling?

[John laughs]

[Maggie screams]

[John screams]

[dramatic music]

[spooky music]
