It's the day we celebrate nature and set an example

- Best Earth Day ever!

- What she said.

- Oh yeah, oh yeah.

- And it's not over yet!

Now I have a big surprise for you this Earth Day.

(gasps of amazement)

What say we go on a nature hike

over to Butterfly Hills?

- Yippee!

Oh, sweet.

I hear the wildflowers are starting to bloom.

- And I hear that the butterflies are butterflying.

(laughter)

It's what they do, wink wink.

- I'm so in.

Bring it on to Butterfly Hills.

Bring me down to the hills.

I'm gonna see the butterflies.

- Haha, to Buttefly Hills!

Onward and yonward!

Uh, little help?

- Don't worry guys, I got this.

Ahhh!

These plastic bags are so annoying.

- Here, let me help too.

Argh!

- I'll save you.

(everyone cries out)

Rudzies?

- That's the supermarket where our family shops.

- I'm sorry, but plastic bags blowing in the breeze

is just not right.

- Agreed, Nature Cat.

And I've seen so many of these bags floating around

here lately.

- They're messing up the beauty of nature.

No fair!

- Viva la nature!

- Haha!

We're not going to let a plastic bag ruin our Earth Day!

You've seen your last days blowing in the wind

and messing up nature, mister!

Haha!

Now it's back to our Earth Day hike.

Tally-ho!

Whoa!

(crash)

Another plastic bag?

- Grrr, plastic bags!

- Man oh man.

Another one.

(mischievous music)

(click)

- (growls) Plastic bags!

- There's one too too also.

(cheeping)

- (screams) Viva la nature!

- Agreed, Squeeks.

And so succinctly said.

Only one thing to do.

Bag those bags for Earth Day!

Tally-ho!

- Let's do it.

- Phew.

Thanks.

- You're welcome, little fishy.

- Haha, gotcha!

Viva la nature.

(cheeping)

- A bag from Mart O'Mart, House Station,

and oh man oh man, another bag from Rudzies.

- Rudzies!

- I can't believe all this plastic waste.

- And it somehow ended up all the way out here.

- This has to end!

These bags cannot blow freely through nature anymore!

Not on our watch.

We need to do something about these plastic bags!

- Yeah.

What's the plan, Nature Cat?

- I, uh...

I really didn't get that far in my thought process.

Heh, I was just kinda brainstormin' a little bit,

spit ballin'.

- I have an idea.

Let's look for more bags!

- Good idea, Squeeks.

- But what about the bags that come after

the bags we pick up?

- Good point, Daisy.

- It's too bad we just can't go to Rudzies and other stores

and tell 'em about their bags.

- Good boy, Hal!

You're a genius.

(big kiss)

- (laughs) I am a genius.

Wait, that's a good thing, right?

I always forget.

I'm never gonna get this...

- Oh yeah.

Let's start with Rudzies and show them

where their bags end up and how bad they are

for nature and then maybe they can do something!

- Oh, they better.

Or they gotta deal with the mouse.

- Yes yes yes!

Quickly!

To Rudzies, everyone, and hurry!

- Yeah, must be a good thing.

(everyone shouts, "For Earth Day!")

(adventurous happy music)

- (gasp) You see that?

Another plastic bag.

- Plastic bags are bumming me out.

- We gotta do something, Nature Cat.

- Hmm.

- Person, hold still!

- We need to get into the store and show them

what their bags are doing.

- But how are we gonna get in there, Nature Cat?

- A little disguise should do the trick.

(cheerful music)

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!

Plastic bags as far as the eye can see!

- Okay, question.

Who do we show the pictures to?

- Come on, you guys.

We gotta find a manager.

- Whoa!

Okay, now what do we do about the plastic bags?

- Too bad people just can't put their groceries

in some kind of big pouch like that guy.

- Hey yeah, that's it Hal!

You're a genius.

- Again?

I mean, how many times a day could someone be a genius?

So exhausting.

- I'm on it!

Perfect.

A cloth sack, Nature Cat style.

They can put their groceries in a sack like this

and use it over and over and over again.

- And never have to throw it away.

Love it!

Brilliant, Hal.

- Hey, listen you guys.

Am I brilliant or am I a genius?

I mean, bababababa you guys gotta make up your minds here.

- [Voiceover] You know, plastic bags

- [Voiceover] Yeah, you're right.

(pleasant music)

- Hey, it's working!

- Hey bag, it's me, Hal.

You gotta stop!

Oh boy, it's no use.

- But we can't let it go.

That's the problem, Hal.

If you let one bag go, and I let one bag go,

and Nature Cat and Squeeks let one bag go...

- Daisy's right.

Before you know it, there's plastic bags

flying all over the place.

- Agreed!

Get that polluting, pugnacious, pitiful plastic bag!

- Pugnacious?

- Hahaha!

Woo!

- Great timing, Nature Cat.

- But of course.

Whoa!

Uh-oh.

Tally-ho!

Ahahaha!

Oops.

Hahaha!

Got you!

Haha!

One bag for Nature Cat.

One less bag for nature.

- Man oh man, great job, Nature Cat!

- Whoo-hoo!

- Haha, we got ya, ya plastic bag!

Viva la nature.

- There's no escaping us, bag!

- Mission finally accomplished.

Now what say we get back to Earth Day celebrating?

- Not so fast, Nature Cat.

Look.

- Oh no.

More plastic polluting nature.

- No fair.

We gotta get that plastic bottle too too also.

- We should do do do also.

- Nice one! (laughs)

- Water.

Why'd it have to be water?

- Aww, you can do it, Nature Cat.

It's for Earth Day.

- Yes I can!

For Earth Day!

Onward and get-that-plastic-bottle-ward.

- Guys, we gotta hurry.

We're headed for the ocean and so is the bottle.

Get that bottle!

- Faster.

The plastic bottle is getting away.

I got it!

I got it!

Whoa!

(splash)

I didn't get it. (laughs)

- Almost got it.

Stay frosty, Daisy.

Stay frosty...

Got it!

- Pull it up, Daisy!

Hurry!

- Whoa whoa whoa.

So sorry again about all of this.

I didn't--

(splash)

- Man oh man.

What do we do now?

- Just leave it to me.

Um, excuse me, plastic bottle.

It's me, Hal.

We would appreciate it if you would stop floating

for just a moment so that we could

bring you into our raft.

Huh?

Come on in maybe?

Pretty please?

Pretty pretty please?

- Get over here, you plastic.

Now!

- But I said please.

- Hmm.

Haha!

Hold this steady, please.

- Aye aye, captain!

(suspenseful music)

- Steady.

Steady.

Whoa!

- Nature Cat, come on.

You got this, man.

- Got you! (laughs)

(cheering)

(splash)

Ah, come on.

Oof.

- Are you okay?

- But of course!

Nature Cat always gets his plastic bottle.

Haha!

Hey, come on.

You gotta give me some props here.

Pretty heroic, how I got this one bottle, hm?

What?

But, how?

Why?

- (growls) Looks like our battle against plastic pollution

isn't over yet.

Viva la nature!

- For Earth Day!

- Tally-ho!

(cheerful music)

Where did all this garbage come from?

- From out there.

- Let's go out there and we'll put a stop

to this plastic once and for all.

Viva la nature!

- [Nature Cat] Paddle.

Paddle like you've never paddled before.

- Aye aye captain!

- Keep your eyes open for any plastic clues.

- Hey you, fish.

- Oh hey, small land critter.

- Uh, sorry to bother you Mr. Fish,

but, um, do you know where all the trash comes from

that washes up on the shore?

- Way out there.

- Oh, cool, thanks.

Keep paddling, you guys!

- Bingo.

Plastic trash.

- Man oh man.

Look.

- Oh, this is so terrible.

- So so so terrible.

(dolphin squeaks)

- Whoops.

Sorry about the shower. (chuckles)

Just wanted to say thanks for pickin' up the plastic.

- Just trying to do our part.

It's Earth Day, you know.

- Yeah, well, every day is Earth Day for us.

You know what I mean?

- We sure do, Mr. Dolphin, sir.

We look out for nature every day.

- We sure do do too too.

Also, too.

- Hey, you know my motto.

Viva la nature.

- Rudzies.

No way.

How'd all this trash get out here?

- Ah, the trash just seems to come from everywhere,

blown in from land by the wind, and from ships at sea.

- What?

That's awful!

- Yep.

The wind and surf pulls it all out here.

When people are careless with their trash

this is what happens.

- Hey bird, please don't eat that.

(spit)

- No one seems to care.

- We care.

- We sure do, Mr. Dolphin, sir.

- More than you know, Mr. Dolphin.

We care so so so much.

- We planted a butterfly garden

and we cleaned up a marsh.

- And look what else we did.

Show him, Nature Cat.

- They used to use these plastic bags at the supermarket,

and now they use these.

Pretty sporty, huh?

- That's a great start!

But you gotta just keep spreading the word.

Let everyone know that every day is Earth Day.

- We are so with you!

- As usual, mouse is in.
